Randomized levels and an ‘endless dungeon’ unlocked after completing the main game ensure a long-lived gameplay experience.

  • Kotsuumo

Been looking forward to this one. Gotta pick it up.

  • TheOnlyIx2

    Seriously, no multiplayer?

  • Ai Kago

I will end up buying this as I prefer to play it on a console, but yeah, no multiplayer is kind of lazy.

  • Haggard Demon

I agree. I will be picking up Torchlight 2 instead, that will have MP over Xbox Live.

  • StormRaging

it has been known since it was announced that this game had no Multiplayer.. It’s an almost direct PC port of a game that without mods has no multiplayer. I don’t see why everyone is picking this to complain about.

  • monosocratic

I don’t game on the pc, so I’m thankful for the chance to play Torchlight.

  • Gonin

hopefully if enough of us buy it they’ll send out a multiplayer sequel. I’m in.

  • Ai Kago

@StormRaging, maybe we just read it on here first and never knew about the game before now and saw it didn’t have multiplayer.

  • Warboss Zorbag

I knew there was no multi, its still a bummer tho, this genre demands it.

Grabbed the demo but I probably won’t buy, promised myself id vote with my dollars on not buying $15 games anymore.

  • Haggard Demon

Yeah, I knew it didn’t have MP as well, doesn’t make it any less annoying. Let’s face it, it was disappointing that there wasn’t MP on the PC version too. It’s a great game though, worth picking up if you like dungeon crawlers and don’t care about multi-player.

  • moocow21

Yeah, there’s no multiplayer — but Torchlight has pretty much perfected the Diablo-style gameplay formula (don’t know how good it is with a controller though). I thought it was easily worth the original $20 price on PC.

  • Arent Argento

Bought the pc version for around 2€, but never got around to play further than the first couple of levels. I will remedy this with XBLA version. Still a bit miffed though, that the ferret isn’t available instead of the ugly Chakawary.

I don’t care that there isn’t any mp mode. I like to unwind while playing a good single player once in a while.

  • a1984darkboy

I’ve been wanting to get Torchlight forever now, the game just looks ridiculously good.

  • Ghostwize

Too busy playing Dragon Age II or I would buy this on day one. Perhaps when I am done becoming the Champion of Kirkwall. :D

  • chiruno99

Will give it a shot, later.

  • BR0THER Daz

Instabuy for me. Seems like I’ve been waiting ages for this one!!

  • CuddlyClamShot

1200pts on a 200MB file just isn’t cutting it nowadays. Looks fun, though. I really wish there would be more thought going into game pricing on stuff like this, half the games on Arcade are overpriced so don’t sell, there are crappy games from three years ago that are still the same price. Where else do we see this?

  • Hugoku

@CuddlyClamShot: What does size has to do with pricing?
What is the right price in your opinion per MB?

  • monosocratic

@CuddlyClamShot: If you said 1200MS for a two hour game doesn’t cut it I could completely understand and agree with you. But to limit what you will experience because of the MB size is silly.

  • ElektroDragon

You’re complaining about the $15 price point for a game that was released for $20 on the PC last year with less features, more bugs, and no achievements? UNBELIEVABLE. Insta-buy here. If ANY game on XBLA is worth the price asked, its this one. And I could care less about multiplayer.

  • CuddlyClamShot

I guess I would expect a MB game where a fifteen dollar game looks and plays decent. I just played the trial, I could care less about a super-small game release on PC. If you expect this in a fifteen dollar package that’s what you get, the game itself just isn’t very good. I got tired of playing it and I just played the trial.

The game itself is pretty standard stuff, it seems like a $3 Indie Game to tell you the truth. If you guys have complete wood for this game good for you, I have to go wash up my taint.

  • CuddlyClamShot

PS – Elektro, you are playing Two Worlds 2, enough said.

  • Spargo CXVII

Got it now…will play it later. Dragon Age II too much fun!!!!

  • NBA Kirkland

    Size doesn’t matter

  • Arent Argento

The avatar award t-shirt doesn’t like fat people, or at least fat avatars. There are clipping problems at the shoulders and the neck:

  • Jessfest

Excellent that this is finally released. I received a gift copy on Steam, but I would so much rather play this on 360. Decisions, decisions.

  • Monhegan

Goodbye 1200 MS Points. Can’t wait to start playing!!

  • ToothlessFrog

Never played the PC version, saw this and got all happy, and then realized no multiplayer… OUCH. This is the EXACT kind of game XBox Live needed WITH multiplayer. Grrrrr. I’m very disappointed… still a great game, but… again… OUCH.

  • TG kolz4ever

TheOnlyIx2, seriously are you an idiot? The pc version is single player, so what would be surprising? I would guess you also don’t know about the missing mods that consoles always have missing. Much as I love having games on my consoles i keep this one on the pc because of the countless mods alone on the pc version. It is still an amazing game with out them (guess not to like you that need co op for everything and I mean everything. ;) ).

  • Casserole

I’ve only had time to complete some of the demo (up to the dungeon) and so far so good. I don’t know why some refuse to believe it’s good value because of the small file size??? If anything I prefer it, remember when Live Arcade started all the games were nice and small, nowadays they churn out 500MB-2GB games which pretty much defeats the point.

  • CuddlyClamShot

TG – The PC version came out a year and a half ago from what I understand, so what exactly took this so long to simply code to 360? It seems to me they held out quite a bit for the sequel to soak up, not a bad business model but this a fifteen dollar game on Live… wouldn’t you expect a PC port from over a year ago that pops up to add something? I would, then again one of those idiots who wonders about these things.

  • CuddlyClamShot

Then again, I am the type of guy who finds this funny…

  • The Grim Heaper

Fun game, I’ll buy it when I have the chance and money. It also shows up on my gamercard even though Ive only played the trial. lol

  • TheChosenOne NL

They released this game as a method to gather funds for the Torchlight MMO. The game was such a big hit that they decided to do a 2nd part (besides the still coming MMO).
That 2nd part will have multiplayer.

1200 points is a fair price although the pc version had the price reduced for 2-8 euro’s a great number of times albeit temporarily so 800 would have been nicer. Still worth it though.

With the pc version you REALLY need to play at the highest difficulty setting to have any challenge so pick wisely or restart quickly.

ps. finally joined this site… bloody closed for registrations for I don´t know how many months-year/years…

  • Hugoku

Great game. Worth the 1200 msps.

I love the cartoon-style art. I’m pretty fed up with generic, grim looking games.

  • SkyyPlum

After I tried the demo I was hooked and instantly bought it and can’t wait to play more of it.

  • Av0cad0

Would be all over this if it had co-op. I get bored quickly playing this sort of game solo.

  • Gonin

This game is like Heroin, soooooo morish! Loving it

  • Breed Evil

I picked this up on steam last year for $5.

  • LaggyMcLag

great game co-op or not.shadow complex one of best arcade games sp only this also one of best and also sp only
