I feel Gears 3 will be what Halo 3 was in 2008 this time around, Epic, pun intended.

Amazing! 145 countries participated in the beta, yet in most of them Xbox Live is not even officially supported. People basically have to lie about their home address and risk being banned from the service because as far as I know doing this is basically a breach of the Xbox Live EULA.

Congratulations on the achievement for both MS and Epic, but is proper international support for Xbox Live too much to ask? I know that people in some regions had to create US VPN accounts in order to even participate a beta they had a valid key for.

Really can’t wait for Gears 3. Don’t delete your Gears 3 beta save file if you want the unlockables to carry over!

 I feel the Limited edition is underpriced and the EPIC edition is overpriced. I think the medal should be EPIC only. For 70 bucks we’re getting an 11″ figure and some gun skins? This seems worse than Reach Legendary.

This is to be expected, when this is THE ONLY WORTHWHILE GAME EXCLUSIVE ON THE XBOX 360 THAT WILL BE AVAILABLE THIS YEAR!!!  The Xbox seriously needs some non-kinect hardcore exclusives to be released this year…

I’ve been a fan of Gears since the first game… The beta was great! I think they really improved the franchise but still kept it true to the series.

Any way you can make a follow-up entry that compare details of the Gears 3 beta and last years Halo Reach beta? I would like to see those stats side-by-side.

 surprised myself with how much i enjoyed the beta, never a big fan in the past of the multiplayer but i managed to squeeze in 150 matches over the 3 weeks i got access to.

I loved the Gears 3 beta. Epic really did an amazing job with the multiplayer this time. I actually had fun playing in Gears multiplayer for once. I cannot wait for the final game this September. 

 Gears 3 beta was a perfect example how the beta should be! It’s marvellous! Waiting for release – September gonna be hot!

 For now. But with microsoft you never know!
The first Gears was great on pc!

 Thinking there’s a lot of people who only pre ordered to get into the beta via gamestop and probably cancelled

Well, it certainly sounds like big numbers and they had a great marketing ploy to get those figures.  Those who stop to think about the numbers will realize that a good chunk of those “pre-orders” are from people pre-ordering just to get the code to play the beta and then canceling that pre-order afterwards.  Not to say the game won’t sell huge numbers; just pointing out that marketing #s do not always reflect reality.

 When the only way you can play a Gears demo is to pre-order it or buy Bulletstorm you are going to get a lot of pre-orders. What happened to Cliff Blezinsky saying at last E3 that pre-orders are meaningless, then he gets in front of a camera to say the exact opposite when he needs to make more money?

This game looks like about the fourth biggest shooter coming this Fall to this console. Rage and Battlefield 3 just look better.

Is Gears 2 in PC? No, Gears 3 wont be either. Cliff B. said they won´t waste time on PC 

 There was around 3 million people in the Reach beta, that’s all I know.

They still got Forza 4 and some exclusive kinect games coming this year too. I just hope those Kinect games are hardcore titles that use Kinect the right way and make a fun experience.

The only reason there are so many preorders this far in advance of the title is because of the beta.  If they had have just put the beta up on marketplace to download, i gurantee there wouldn’t be so many pre-orders.  So now Gamestop has like 5 million dollars in free money to bank and make interest on for the next four months.  Whatever they paid to get exclusive US dist rights for the beta seems like it paid off.

Beta != Demo, folks.   It was a stress test for the servers, which you’ll remember cacked when Gears2 was released.
