Prepare to hit the road in a Ferrari 458 Italia, the “Forza Motorsport 4” cover car
Today Turn 10 Studios is also revealing that the cover car for the standard edition of “Forza Motorsport 4” is the Ferrari 458 Italia. The Ferrari 458 Italia is an 8-cylinder two-seater berlinetta with a mid-rear mounted engine, and represents a genuine break with the past in terms of Maranello’s previous high-performance sports cars. The Turn 10 team has worked closely with Ferrari to include every intricate detail of the Ferrari 458 Italia in the game, from its sleek aerodynamic design to its exquisitely modeled 4499 cc V8 engine, offering players the most realistic driving experience off the track.

“The Ferrari 458 Italia was a perfect fit for the ‘Forza Motorsport 4’ hero car. It has the ideal blend of style, creative flair, cutting-edge technology and power that makes it just as gorgeous to look at as it is thrilling to take to the track,” said Dan Greenawalt, creative director of Turn 10 Studios. “We’ve worked closely with our partners at Ferrari to bring this amazing car to life in your living room.”

Oh boy… Another racer for us… Hooo haaa!

Ew, GameStop’s car is an Alfa? For the love of Top Gear and all that is holy, PLEASE don’t let the collector’s edition of Forza 4 be exclusive to GameStop like Forza 3’s.

    • Spider

If it is exclusive to there, I won’t get it. Amazon FTW.

This game going to be the best racing game ever ! till forza 5 of course (:

This “Get it a this retailer get this car” is CRAP!!!

  • Anonymous

Retailer exclusive bonus content is seriously anti-consumer.

Would prefer if MS didn’t go with that flow.

    • Spider

I agree. But, on the flip side, it’s good marketing, and I’m betting they are pulling in extra from the retail outlets. It’s also booting new game sales, helping the industry as a whole.

      • Anonymous

        Eh.. no.

All your doing is pandering to the stupid B&M stores who’re desperate to cling onto customers that get better deals elsewhere.  It’s not good for the industry as a whole.

        It cheapens it.

Not to mention it’s only talking about US only. Again.

I hope some features weren’t skimped on just to make it Kinect accessible.

  • Spider

I hope it lives up to 3. I’ll preorder the LE when it comes up on Amazon.

What was the update this morning? There really should be a press release anytime there is an apparent major update. These updates can brick consoles, or even shut them down for being the wrong model.

Why not just issue a post about it? It was a somewhat major update and it wasn’t really “rolled out”, a crapload of people just got it.

Major you are a handsome man!!

So If I preorder at one place I cant get the other 4 cars?

  • Grizzly Bear

    I guess I should finish Forza 3.

So a limited quantity at launch will have the 4 extra cars. Will we be able to tell which copies have the “Ship Bonus” car pack?

  • Jason

Forza 3 on Games on Demand would be nice, Major.

    • Anonymous

Ultimate edition Forza 3 on demand for $25 would be great. Anything higher is robbery :) lol

      • Anonymous

In the UK you can buy it boxed and new for £7 (about $10). I don’t think Games on Demand will ever be able to compete :-(

  • Karen den Broeder

I won’t be buying. I’m not supporting this type of marketing.

  • Quality Jeverage

This stuff is getting so annoying.

10 years ago: Want a game? Ok, go buy it. Now you have the game.

Now: Want a game? Where do you want to buy it from? Which “edition” do you want? Will you pre-order it? Will you buy it new? Will you play it online? Do you have a Facebook or Twitter account?

That ANY of those questions, let alone all of them, can impact what content you get is just plain silly. Here’s hoping our industry moves beyond this garbage, sooner rather than later.

Not a fan of the retailer exclusive pre-order bonuses… Not really a fan of in game pre-order bonuses in general but especially not this kind.

However, I love the Forza series so I won’t be letting this stop me from pre-ordering the Collector’s Edition.

I hate all this pre-order bullcrap. These aren’t even good bonuses. There are plenty of cars in the game already, more than I will ever drive. The WRX is even one of my favorite cars both in games and in real life so I have no problem choosing which one I would want to order from but this stuff still sucks IMHO.

I would be much more interested in a day one Games on Demand version anyway, at least I am until I hear how they have ruined the game with Kinect.

I think I will wait until the “Collectors Edition” is produced…

  • NEW P4TH

I cant wait for Forza 4. I loved Forza 3 and Forza 4 looks to have great improvements. The standard edition has a cool boxart, but like Forza 3, I’m going to stick with the Limited Collector’s Edition. I cant wait for E3. Hope you guys have some non-Kinect hardcore games…..alongside some awesome Kinect games.

All these retailer exclusive pre-order bonus doesn’t make me want to run out and buy the game. It makes me want to wait until the game is repacked later and includes all the content.

1st comment on the new MN site.  I like it, I just wish that you posted to it as frequently as the old one. :)

I have been procrastinating upon creating a disqus account but had to sound off here.   I have to express my utter disdain for retailer-specific DLC.    If they all get the same pre-order bonus, fine… but it was a MAJOR pain obtaining all the Mass Effect 2 items for a valentine’s day gift.   To have done anything less would have felt like gifting an *incomplete* game.   I’m glad that pre-order/special edition bonus items from certain games eventually do make it to the marketplace now…MK would have driven me bats.   You can extort some hefty grip for a fable 2 spartan code or black ops WaW zombie maps.

Now what if you actually DON’T live in the USA, but say Europe?… I don’t know if you Americans know that part of the world?
