Where to watch the Xbox E3 Briefing

On Monday, June 6th the 2011 Xbox E3 Media Briefing will be held at E3 in Los Angeles. The invite only* event will be held at USC’s Galen Center and begins on Monday June 6th at 12:30p ET/9:30a PT (what time is that in your region?) If you can’t attend, don’t worry….Spike TV will be carrying the entire 90-minute event live and commercial free in HD.  In addition the briefing will air live in Times Square, and be available for live streaming on Facebook, mobile platforms, MTV.com, Spike.com and Xbox.com/E3.

Again, that’s this Monday June 6th at 12:30p ET/9:30a PT.

The stream will be available in most regions via Xbox.com/e3.  You can also go to http://www.facebook.com/xbox for the stream

This year, you will be able to watch the stream on your mobile device at xbox.mobi/e3

If your school or work place blocks any of the streaming sites (or maybe this blog) I’ll be posting Tweets in real time from the briefing, so be sure to follow me for updates.

Download this iCal file and add it to your calendar so you won’t miss the event or scan one of these tags to download the iCal file directly to your mobile device.

*If you are already in the LA Area, I will have a small number of briefing tickets to give away at our Tweet-up.

Note: The briefing will not be streamed LIVE over Xbox LIVE, but will be available later in the day for on demand playback from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

G4 will also be airing ALL of the major press conferences, including this one and even the ones for major publishers like EA and Ubisoft, live and commercial free.

    • jarrodwesley

Wish I still got G4 on Directv. Makes me mad that they did away with it. Only time I watched it at all during the year was E3 week though for the coverage. Guess I’ll have to catch some of the pressers online.

Just scanned the barcode with my iPhone 4 and it prompts me to open the ICS in Dropbox?

  • Robert Pendell

Seeing the issues with ics on other phones makes me glad I have an Android phone and use Google for my calendar support.  Google Calendar has native support of ics format and Android has built in capability to sync with Google Calendar.

    • Anonymous

You can do the exact same thing on the other phones mentioned.

Major, I’m attending the tweet meet up at Lucky Strike, but I want to take my Kinect and possibly my 360 S so you guys can sign it for me.. you think that would be possible? if not so I don’t even bother bringing them.

Xbox E3 Keynote head to head against Apple keynote, the live bloggers heads are going to explode.

I can’t wait for E3, games games games

  • http://twitter.com/SithKnightmare Spider

Sweet! Glad I will be able to stream it to my iPhone.

  • Anonymous

My expectations are at an all time low for you guys.  Hopefully you guys don’t make it any lower by focusing completely on Kinect again and not having any games….and by games I don’t mean kinectimals 2 and dance central 2….where is mechwarrior 5?  Crimson skies 2?  A real Banjo game?

    • http://profiles.google.com/dfpg86 Décio Gonçalves

But but but… you will get to see first gameplay on stage of Modern Warfare 3 and exclusive (coff coff for a week coff coff) maps!!! Why do you need exclusive games?

      • Anonymous

        Agreed.

    • http://farzansreviews.blogspot.com/ NEW P4TH

I agree, my expectations are pretty low too. Other than Forza 4 and Gears 3, theirs nothing I’m looking forward from them. We need more first party games Major! Give us new IPs that aren’t Kinect only games. You guys had a ton of creative and ambitious games last gen. I don’t want to keep playing the Gears, Halos, Forza games only.

Pachter has already seeing Microsoft’s conference for Monday.  He said it was great…bad sign….

        • fsdsafd fdsfas

I think you can expect the same as 2010. Great focus on kinect and entertainment services, less on core games.

      • Anonymous

Also agreed.  They have all kinds of ip properties that they can pull from, such as Mechwarrior, Brute Force, Hunter: The Reckoning, etc, but they refuse to use any of them.  At this rate, we’ll be lucky if we get a sequel to an Arcade game like Shadow Complex…

Sigh… Windows Phone 7 does not support .ICS files… Sad!

  • http://www.facebook.com/rellus.gellor Russell Gorall

You know it’s a sad E3 when you have to mention a Forza title that you always end up giving away with bundles. Not a Gears fan since I bought the first one, and I don’t find Halo relevant to gaming anymore. Would love to hear some more about BioShock Infinite, love Levine and cannot wait to get my hands into Columbia. Rage and Battlefield 3 are also top priorities. I’ve been waiting almost five years for Rumble Roses XXX, Konami help me! I am just hoping the only announcement is the Dashboard isn’t being used as an MS advertisement anymore. Also, you sold a buttload of Kinects but now realize it isn’t really working with games or major devs. Cheers.

Why did you choose such an early time to have this thing, won’t people be at work and in school? No one will be able to watch it =(

I wonder if you can top last year’s E3 in awfulness?

I love you Microsoft, but you need more than two franchises.

I can see the headlines now,

E3 SPECIAL *and barely any mention of the state of XBLA, but there are a few demo’s for games you played and traded last year*

So wait… This is a Microsoft site… a Microsoft event… and my Microsoft product (which is a mobile device) will not work with this!?!?! Not a good look for WP7 Major.

Unfortunately, I’m predicting that this E3 Xbox conference is going to be a dog.  Recent conferences have been too contrived and making BIG news out of small developments.  The audience of the presentation will likely be focused on ‘fun, fun happy family’ Kinect prospects.  We could be surprised, I supposed, but I’m not holding my breath.  With the recent ’40% of Xbox time spent on non-gaming’ we will see more announcement on services….for Americans.

Larry – is there any reason you posted a file that no devices other than Apple iPhones (and I suspect iPads) can read?  Hope you have your excuses ready when you meet with your Windows Mobile counterpart next week.

That QR code doesn’t work with iPhone either. I’m not sure what you can use it for if not on iPhone or MS devices. Kinda pointless.

    • http://www.facebook.com/Tjoeb123 Tyler Beale

I don’t know about WP7 but for iOS you need to use a PR scanning app.  Don’t worry, there really is one that’s free.

Also, Apple’s WWDC keynote is happening at the same time…

Actually, this is a really good idea. Would be great to watch it through my Xbox.

Though you will not be able to watch it live on the Xbox, you will be able to download it sometime after the Keynote is over. At least thats what Microsoft is saying.
