Glad you like Disqus. It’s been working out pretty well for us I’d say.

Finished the demo in 59.04 seconds! Best minute of my life! Been replaying the game over 50 times now, still haven’t got enough. For all Sonic fans, THIS IS THE GAME YOU’VE BEEN WAITING FOR!

Game says it does not come till november on amazon why is the demo so early?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1465238446 Jim Boyer

Ok just finished the demo and would like to give feedback to sega about what I like and dont like do they have an official place to do that for this game?

      • http://twitter.com/WebstyleCenter Peter van Dam

Good question. Normally the Sega Forums / Sega USA Blog would have been the perfect place for feedback. But Sega Pass is currently unavailable due to attacks like on PSN.

I would suggest leaving your feedback on fan sites (and here). Fan sites I like are:
        http://www.sonicstadium.org/ and http://www.sonicretro.org

Both sides have special contact with Sega and sometimes even have exclusive news to share from Sega. I’m sure posting your comments (no sign up required) there would be a perfect spot.

Gold Exclusive?!? Crap, looks like I’ll be upgrading to gold… :S

Thank god! A GREAT Sonic game finally!

You forgot to mention that there are only 20 days to play this (like, starting right now), and once the demos are up, not only will it disappear from XBLM, but also be disabled.

I liked it, but I wish they would put a level for Modern Sonic in there as well. One level for each would have satisfied me more.

I have to admit, it was pretty fun. Makes me wonder why they bothered with Sonic 4 now.

    • http://twitter.com/WebstyleCenter Peter van Dam

I’m sure Sonic 4 is a game that fills up the space between the ‘real’ sonic games. It’s like 4 years since Unleashed, and i’m glad we had S4 for 1,5 year to fill up that space.

Sure sonic 4 had it bad things, but Sonic is a kind of game that cannot be found elsewhere. Maybe Rayman is alike but thats it. I don’t mind seeing less pefect games every year, because it’s tons of fun.

He won’t know until the rest of us knows….and that’s when Sega talks.  But seriously, we need Episode 2, Sega…

Playing this Sonic Generations demo felt great and a flush of great memories when I first played the original side-scrolling Sonic the Hedgehog games started coming back to me like crazy.

Yep, Sonic Generations is definitely a game I’ll be buying at end of 2011.

Thanks Sega for bringing Sonic back to his true form!

30fps in a 2d side scroller. Ouch. I think my eyes are bleeding.

Same here.  I really wanted to like this game but I felt the frame rate was far too low, as soon as I picked up speed everything just seemed to be juddering past making me dizzy.  It just doesn’t seem to work on a 42″ screen.

I will have to try it on my 24″ monitor and see if that feels any better, but I suspect not as it won’t improve the frame rate just make it slightly less jarring.

      • Matt Hill

Yup the frame rate is horrible, I thought it was just me who found it hard to see anything once you picked up speed.

The game needs to be 60fps, if not then thats yet another in a long line of letdowns from Sega.

        • Anonymous

God forbid what it must be like in stereoscopic 3D mode at that frame rate as its easier to feel dizzy to begin with.

That is one thing though, at least the 3DS version is not based on the console versions so with any luck THAT ONE will be a better frame rate.  Still, I really wanted it on Xbox 360.

I agree about the frame rate.. that single-handedly makes me NOT want to play through the demo again..

I could only play the demo once because of the frame rate. I don’t know what it was that bothered me but it scared me away.

      • Anonymous

I’m not sure if its 30fps, but it felt more like 15fps especially once you pick up speed.  I just felt I couldn’t see what I was doing and it literally made me confused and dizzy.  I’m not sure I have ever had that problem with a game before.

        • http://twitter.com/Krylon_Blue Stephen Hrubec

I had that problem with Marathon Durandal on the XBOX Live Arcade before it was patched. It appears a lot of people had gotten motion sickness from the fast movements. But other than that and now Sonic to a lesser extent, I’ve never experience it before. I won’t even consider this as a rental because I’m not trying to feel sick while gaming.

          • Anonymous

I wonder if playing in stereoscopic 3D would make it worse or better?

It could conceivably make it better by pushing the background further into the distance so making it easier to keep your eyes on the important foreground.  Or it could be worse, as it can cause motion sickness where you wouldn’t get it otherwise.
