Add me to your Google Plus circles

If you are over at Google Plus, you can find me here: http://mjr.mn/MNgoogleplus

I’m not posting as much there as I do on Twitter, but I have been playing around with it to see where it will fit in to the rest of the social media tools I use.

If you’ve tried it out what do you think so far ?

    Where is Bing Plus?  ;)

    • Anonymous

      It’s called facebook.

      • ElektroDragon

Oh right, because Microsoft owns Facebook.  Yeah, that makes sense now.

  • Patrick Copeland

Added ya a while back Maj. I’m liking it, it’s like Facebook was before the info stealing apps and soccer moms took over.

I think it is very similar to Facebook, though it is missing some obvious features that I would like. The hangouts is awesome, though it is annoying that they time out after a while.

I like it. Using FB & Twitter share functions so I only have to post on G+ and then choose if it should show on FB and/or Twitter as well.

  • http://twitter.com/seekul Luke Es

Got in yesterday and still trying to decide how I’ll use it. Probably more on the business-casual side. I will add you to my Photographers circle, Major. :)

I’ve avoided Facebook and Twitter over the years as I’ve had little interest in broadcasting everything I do to everyone I’ve ever met an everyone else. I have been trying Google+ though and am liking the ability to direct messages to only those you want to read them. The main hurdle so far has been getting into the habit of using it.

I’m surprised an M-soft employee is allowed to post a link to a google site on his blog.

I think you were one of the first I added – not many of my friends have joined yet… Thx for the re-add btw, you must get A LOT shown there if you add everyone who adds you ;-)

I quite like it… facebook w/o all the annoying spam (app posts, ads, etc)  There’s some sorely needed features (collapsing comment threads, anyone?) but it’s Google, I’m sure they’ll figure it out.

Need and invite if anyone has a spare :)

It’s awesome. It’s opened me up to a new audience of people.

  • Tom Koehler

I’d like to check it out, but haven’t received my invite yet!  If anyone is feeling generous with their invites please hit me up at tbkoehler@gmail.com.
    Thanks.

  • http://twitter.com/DiceZero Dice

I like it because it does not have all of the JUNK associated with Facebook.

  • Angela Seiverling

I personally enjoy it. It definitely seems like it is going to be for more of the nerdy techy people, hahaha.

  • http://twitter.com/DanielRCampbell Daniel Campbell

Meh. Just another social networking service. the +1 stuff is cool. I think it is kind of like what Digg was but on a more personal and permanent level. Isn’t it really similar to what Bing was doing as well?

  • http://twitter.com/mfg68 MFG

I like it very much. It’s super clean and I like being able to filter my people through Circles.

  • Haneef S.

I like it more than facebook because it is fully integrated with my gmail account which i use for everything. it visually is more appealing especially the way it groups your contact lists (circles). i have not used it heavily from my android phone but the number one reason i like it more is that it isn’t blocked by my job’s firewall :)

Google+ is neat, but still too early to tell. There are issues that need resolution, but need more people to get a good feel.

  • Steven Parker

I think its pretty neat. Once its out of its field trial, im sure a lot more use will come out of it.

  • Will Hughes

I’m using G+ because it allows me to more carefully target who I send what to. Fairly prolific Twitter user, not so big of a fan of Facebook because of the whole apps thing. G+ seems to handle it nicer, imo.

PS: Sent invites to the folks below here asking for invites.

I’m just hoping facebook (and twitter) take a look at the competition and try to innovate. I don’t really like Google+, it’s pretty much the same thing with a similar (and uglier) look.. people say it’s clean but it looks cluttered to me. Facebook is cool, it’s integration with my WP7 is awesome, I won’t even bother switching (…unless all my friends switch… hope not =P )

Think it is polished and can only improve. Like the circle idea.

I can target updates to specific groups and there are no apps to clog up my stream like FB. I have noticed some people posting Facebook style status updates but with a Twitter like frequency so that’s annoying. Overall it’s a cleaner, easier to use Facebook. I like it.

I’ve also invited the folks below who wanted in :)

It’s horrible!! The only reason it’s where it’s at now is because of the overhype by the Google fandroid sheep who worship all things Google.

    • B. G.

I bet you’re on Facebook and you’re afraid of a bit of  competition from a superior system.

  • Anonymous

Slow…….Deja Vu……Boring…….The app killed my Android battery, had to uninstall.

  • Anonymous

It’s wonderful, needs some tweaks to sort out the default stream but it’s everything that a social network should be:
    Clean
    Organised
Unspoilt by games and fan pages and all that pish.
Connected to my contacts already via gmail
Integrated into my phone already on android

    Bye bye facebook.

  • Michael Romeo

Google+ has its advantages and disadvantages compared to other social media tools, but I can see it becoming pretty powerful once Google starts adding deeper integration between Google+ and their other services.

  • http://twitter.com/UATHappenings Univ Advancing Tech

Overall, really happy with what I’ve seen of Google+. It cuts out a lot of the crap that FB has and adds a lot of new features that are great. Favorite features–the circles are great, the ability to follow users like Twitter and also, edit your posts without deleting!

  • http://twitter.com/daringone daringone

In my opinion, Google+ is the perfect fusion of Facebook and Twitter.

  • Joel Klussman

I really like Google+ even though it has quite a bit of room for growth, but the fundamental idea of circles and following has me pretty happy. I like the granularity of using circles to choose who gets my updates, and I far prefer following on Google+ over Twitter. Twitter doesn’t (by design) thread well, so following people who reply to others is a big pain. Although Google+ will probably get some of the same annoying things that Facebook has (ads, message spam from apps, etc.), I like that Google let’s me export my contacts and generally I trust Google far more than I trust Facebook with my info.

by the time I am able to use my invite and they let me in, you might be a general..lol

  • http://www.facebook.com/tonimasana Toni Masana

I don’t change the Facebook or Twitter by this.
But the others systems always this nice for make strength for improve.
    Greetings

Could someone send me a google plus invite? my e-mail address is: flanzmail@gmail.com

  • Anonymous

could someone add me to google plus thanks: keithkrystofiak@gmail.com

  • Colt Outman

Its sort of like a combination of Twitter and Facebook.  I set you to the following Circle so I can see the important news you post.  I also have family, friends, work, etc in other circles. Hopefully one day I can use this and kill two birds with one stone by eliminating FB and twitter.
