Xbox 360 System Update coming this Tuesday

Sometime during the day tomorrow (Tuesday, July 19th) when you sign in to Xbox LIVE you’ll receive a prompt to accept a mandatory system update. If you are signed into LIVE already, you may be signed out and asked to accept the update and you’ll be back online in a few moments.

There are no new features that will show up once your system has been updated.

This update is preparation for additional system enhancements coming to Xbox 360 later this year.

I have been having intermittent freezing issues with Kinect Fun Labs since before this latest update. Given the behavior, I’m thinking it may be a server-side issue.

    Oh ok…so it has been that way before the update. But there was a seperate update pryor to the system update, that could have been the problem or they may be having problems with applying the avatar kinect app.

When will they fix the bug where sub-members of a Family Gold Plan can actually download Mature rated content? Their profiles are marked as Adults in the Family Center Manager, but XBL treats them like children accounts. Not cool.

I’ve never had an issue with my Xbox 360. It’s a second gen, 20 gb version, adult owned, and not overly played. Update installed last night. Games played OK, had kind of a snow effect once. Tonight, turn it on, start game, video is kind of snowy. Turn off, Turn On, red light and E-74 error. Find it very odd that I’ve never had an issue until this update. Are others seeing the same issue?

  I’ve just updated and it seems to have affected my xbox video feed as well. First it was just grainy looking so I rebooted the xbox and now I have no image at all! I can hear the xbox boot up sound and hear the navigation sounds when I use the controller but absolutely no video feed. No problems until this update so it’s clearly something in the download. My xbox is 5 years old and had the RROD 3 years ago which was repaired by Microsoft. Since that repair its run perfectly. Is this a common problem affecting older systems? Is there a fix?

Guys…….. am not sure am using the correct Xbox terminology here…….but……is it safe for me to run this update….? My Xbox is recently “moded” , maybe about a month ago and it’s working fine now ( I didn’t updated it yet). and if i need to check my current firmware version ( or anything i need to check) how would i do that.

@Major Nelson…. Will there be a notification posted on when kinect fun labs will be running? I’m tired of starting it up then have to power down my console to exit it because it freezes.

  look it up on google.
  one time i had some long ass number error code. and i had to hold the dvd drive open, do some crap, and it worked…

The update has broken my xbox video feed. I’m using component to HDTV in 1080p. At first the image became grainy right after update. So I rebooted, and now there is no image, but I hear the boot up sound and menu navigation sounds. It’s an older xbox that had RROD and was repaired under warranty 3 years ago. Is this a known problem for some systems you are working on a fix for?

I think this may have done something to backwards compatibility. Old games now freeze on the xbox splash screen.

I did the update and now when I log into the profile that was logged in to do the update, the xbox freezes. Deleted cache/hard drive, and recovered account… no success. Great just POS update, I cannot use my xbox.

I did the update but I got a an a message : Cant proscess the update status code : 355A-351F-1380-0703-C000-0099 … I tried like 10 times got the same thing also dowloaded the update and put it in a usb drive (fat32) while it was extracting it got the same error =.=”

I have not had a problem with my console until the update and now i’m experiencing over heating issues within very short time of over heating!

Updated the XBOX yesterday now my sound is playing really weird not just in game, the splash screen upon boot up cuts in and out and the commentary on FIFA is awful, no problems before the update.

Updated the 360 yesterday, now my xbox stop itself after a few seconds or minutes spent on the dashboard After a stop, sometimes it starts in VGA mode ! No problem playing modern warfare 2.
