Xbox 360 System Update coming this Tuesday

Sometime during the day tomorrow (Tuesday, July 19th) when you sign in to Xbox LIVE you’ll receive a prompt to accept a mandatory system update. If you are signed into LIVE already, you may be signed out and asked to accept the update and you’ll be back online in a few moments.

There are no new features that will show up once your system has been updated.

This update is preparation for additional system enhancements coming to Xbox 360 later this year.

so if the enhancments aren’t coming untill later this year then why are we having to use our hard drive space for the update now? i don’t understand why they won’t be upfront with all of the users and let us know why they are making manditory updates just let us know what the hell is going on

This update is garbage! It keeps giving me an error and it is really starting to piss me off. The xbox was fine the way it was why give the users more obstacles?

If anyone knows what the hell status code: 335A-351F-1380-0700-C000-000E means please let me know!

    I was told by support that this was not true. I do not even have a dvd drive in my console, so that may be the problem. But if that is the problem then this is bullshit!

      The ”Z:____” line in the status code when you test Xbox LIVE connection and then go to “Status” (the Y button) should always show 0000. Anything else means your console is banned.

Does the update fix the sandwich-maker function? My Xbox wasn’t able to make me a sandwich after the first time I inserted the ingredients into the disk tray, and has had trouble playing disks since. Hopefully the update will restore function to both disk use and sandwich making.

      I have not received it either. I heard new features are in this update. I heard you can now License transfer from the dashboard and you can now remove credit cards. Cant say for sure though..

        Just got the update. Slowly but surely. Probably the first one to ever take this long most of them are usually pretty quickly. Can’t really complain about something that’s all back-end stuff.

  I just got it also…and it didnt kick me out of a game. it kicked me out of netflix…lol. But i did notice afterwards there was a kinect fun labs update and now that’s not loading at all…wow.

Seriously… why the F does it have to kick us off in the middle of our games instead of waiting until the next login!? For once I actually had a good game and streak going on in Rock Band 3 and this STUPID update just kicked me from it!

It’s like going on a nice cruise down a highway and suddenly a huge blanket out of nowhere covers your windshield and you start swerving and crash! FFFFUUUUUU!! >:(
