Xbox 360 at PAX Prime 2011

With way more content than could possibly fit in one booth, Xbox 360 can be found in five different places at PAX this year, including four booths on the main show floor and over Halo Fest.

Celebrate everything Halo at Halo Fest, the largest Halo experience ever (located on the 3rd floor of the Annex in the Convention Center.)  Information on Halo Fest including panels, schedule & programming can be found either on IGN [our event media partner] or by checking into Halo Waypoint. You can also follow Waypoint on twitter for up-to-the-minute information! Remember: your PAX pass gets you free admission to Halo Fest, so drop by and check it out!

Update: This must read post has all the details about Halo Fest.

Outside of Halo Fest, here is the full list of the Xbox 360 / PAX Prim activities this year.

Xbox 360 Booth #412
Come on by to get your hands on Gears of War 3 Horde mode, the first US consumer hands-on for Forza 4, and the recently released Age of Empires Online, PLUS Electronic Arts’ upcoming sports releases Madden 12 and FIFA 12.

We’ll also be showing Sega’s Rise of Nightmares and kicking off a zombie-spotting promotion that could award you exclusive prizes including a copy of the game. Keep your eyes peeled for Rise of Nightmares’ zombies straight from the game wandering around PAX, then snap and tweet their photo along with the hashtag #RiseatPAX for your chance to win!

Xbox 360 Booth #145

Dream.Build.Play is Microsoft’s global competition that challenges independent game developers to create new and innovative games using XNA Game Studio. We have four fantastic panels at PAX Prime this year designed to unravel some of our mysteries as well as have a lot of fun. See you there!

@XboxSupport: Customer Support in 140 Characters or Less

What is the Elite Tweet Fleet? Come meet and chat with members of Microsoft’s @XboxSupport Twitter handle about the joys and challenges of providing support for Xbox and Xbox LIVE in less than 140 characters. Members of the Tweet Fleet and Forums Support team will be on hand to answer questions and discuss helping customers through social media.

Major Nelson Radio: Live!
Unicorn Theatre
Friday 6:30pm – 7:30pm
Join me, e, lollipop and Stepto as they record the podcast with you, the studio audience.  Fun WILL be had.

We Make Xbox and Xbox LIVE. Ask Us Anything
Unicorn Theatre
Saturday 5:00pm – 6:00pm
What does it take to work on Xbox? How do we determine what cool features to add? What was it like in the early days of creating Kinect? Who has the highest Gamerscore? Ask us anything. We mean it! Join an expert panel moderated by Xbox LIVE’s own Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb as the people who work on creating the Xbox itself, as well as Xbox LIVE, take your questions.

Running Xbox LIVE
Unicorn Theatre
Sunday 4:30pm – 5:30pm
Ever wonder what it takes to run a world-wide entertainment service? Join members of the Xbox LIVE operations team as we walk you through the history and present of Xbox LIVE. Learn about the early days of the service, see what it’s like to prepare for a major game launch, get a look inside how teams making the hardware and software have to take into account how it all comes together on Xbox LIVE, and how we take into account safety and enforcement. Hear some great stories over the past 9 years of the service. We promise we won’t get too technical on you too! (PLEASE NOTE: This presentation will not include Q&A as we encourage you to join us for our separate open Q&A session)

Obviously the MNR Live will be recorded, but will the other panels (Xbox LIVE, Ask Us Anything, etc) be as well?  I’d CERTAINLY be interested to hear what goes down at those panels!

Sonic CD?! Coming to XBLA?! WOOHOO!

you guys really need to put a lid on Charles Lewis.  He makes you guys look like idiots.

  • Anonymous

Awesome. This means Kinect Fun Labs isn’t broken anymore, right? I know Kinect is really high pro with MS, so surely you wouldn’t announce anything without this being fixed, right?

    • Oliver Doel

      Dick noob

  • Graeme Small

    Wait, what? SONIC CD?!   ^_^

  • Phil Baxter

Great news on Sonic CD, it’s my all time favourite Sonic. Please Sega don’t mess this one up, and by that I mean don’t use the horrible US soundtrack, – use the original Japanese (and EU) soundtrack and it’s surely one of the greatest ever.

  • Anonymous

Oh lord please bring the 3-Screen Motion Simulator for Forza 4.  I’ll stand in like for hours, just to play for 3-5 minutes on that.

  • David Blackeby

Will you be recording the panels and posting them for those of us that can’t make it to PAX?

  • David Bruno

Everyone needs to come play Rise of Nightmares at the MS booth and then swing by the SEGA booth to play all of our other titles. #RiseatPAX

  • c g

SEGA should make the Sonic CD port like they did when they made Sonic Gems Collection for the Xbox, not one of those crappy backbone emulators…
