You release a forty dollar game tagged for Arcade release until MS cronies axed the devs to release it retail. You charge forty bucks for a fifteen dollar at best game in the mind of the devs and add on a “code” for Fruit Ninja Kinect which hasn’t sold ten thousand copies and may be a ripoff as free? So, what is this about?

What this is about is that Gunstringer likely exceeded the 2GB size limit. (Twisted Pixel loves their FMV.) So instead of cutting parts out, Microsoft Games told them to make it bigger. Since new retail games have a $40 minimum they decided to throw in Fruit Ninja, one of the most anticipated Kinect games, to make it a better value. The free DLC, The Wavy Tube Man Chronicles, was likely intended to be included on the disc but wasn’t ready in time so they included it as a download.

As big as Gunstringer was it was likely going to be one of those $20 XBLA games. Fruit Ninja Kinect $10. The Wavy Tube Man Chronicles, a funny tribute to classic light gun games like Mad Dog McCree, could easily have been a $10 XBLA game all by itself. Not a bad deal for $40 new. And as the holidays approach likely to go on sale too.
