It’s a shame, that Xbox LIVE service which officially launched only one year ago in Poland is still far behind US or GB regions. I feel really bad that I migrated my account to Poland.

Wait, I thought Windows Killed Zune?

    • Anonymous

They stopped production of the Zune hardware, but are continuing the Zune services – just focusing on Windows Phone, Xbox, and PC as the players.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=540657241 Rich Squires

Good to see most of the UK channels are in there but no mention of the UK for Zune? Are we going to lose access to the marketplace!? Surely that’s a typo?

Where can I apply for a job at Microsoft Portugal?
It must be the best place to earn some money since there’s no visible work whatsoever!

Until this day we don’t even have the Xbox interface on our native language, nevermind other types of services..

  • Anonymous

Finally, iPlayer and 4OD on Xbox Live! AND Love FIlm, at long last UK Gold members get as good as a live service as Americans.

  • http://twitter.com/lunaticox Allen Luna

Guys, this is what I gathered from an email I received from Microsoft.Channels/content providers not requiring an additional subscription (this list refers to U.S ONLY. According to the fine print on my email):Daily MotionCrackleSyfyTMZBravoLast.fmUFC (PPV has to be purchased)ESPN (requires affiliated Internet provider)Manga EntertainmentiHeartRadio ChannelMSN w/ MSNBC”The Today Show” & “NBC News”VEVO (Free music videos)YouTube•Verizon Fios its for Verizon cable subscribers but it includes more than VOD, it includes LIVE TV.•Comcast its just VOD through Xfinity•CinemaNow says the following: “CinemaNow offers instant access to an extensive library of premium video content for rent or purchase, including the latest new release movies and TV shows. It’s included with your Xbox LIVE Gold membership, and there are no late fees. ” Whatever it means.Stuff needing additional subscription:EpicNetflixHuluVerizon Fios (includes Live Tv)Comcast XfinityZune MusicHBO Go.

*note im not affiliated with Microsoft nor is this an official list of any sort.

It’s illegal to charge for the BBC within the UK so yes.

  • http://twitter.com/saintkamus Manuel Herrera

So let’s see, gotta pay xbox live just so i can get access to services i already pay for in the first place?

    • http://profiles.google.com/thief000 J.A.J.G. Thiéfaine

      Yeah, I agree.
Microsoft needs to drop the Gold requirement for other paid subscription services.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_3MUOO3JQKGIF4NCMRWPCGDYHAM Mike

No.  If you have Xbox live, and one of these services, you can eliminate the cable box for that TV, saving you $.  The Xbox becomes the converter box

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Junior-Jimenez/744909576 Junior Jimenez

they made more than a million last year there not going to drop it they want there money. Live is set up to make money

  • Gavin Carroll

Any chance that some of those UK listed ones – such as Channel 4 – will be available in the Irish market? We can watch everything but BBC iPlayer here

  • Adithya Gollapudi

    What about services for India?

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_3MUOO3JQKGIF4NCMRWPCGDYHAM Mike

There is a miss conception on this – Xbox replace the converter box.  if you have Live gold, and one of these subscriptions, you can eliminate the fee on your converter box.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1293297537 Michael Drozd

I assume this refers to Verizon customers, because if i read correctly comcast only gets on demand, no live tv? which is meh to me…  but then i havent used xfinity ipad app that the comcast option is suppose to mirror, so maybe i am missing something good??

  • Janyton Silva

OMG nothing on Live Brazil??????that’s sad!!!

  • http://twitter.com/ToastNeo Matthew Berning

Well that’s lame that Comcast is just VOD. I want Live TV, but we have Comcast, not Verizon… I’m guessing it’s something on Comcast’s end since Verizon has live TV. Hopefully they change that…

  • Andrew Weiss

question! i dont have Xfinity or FiOs. i do have iO by cablevision though. will i be able to access the live TV features?

  • Anonymous

Zune is available in the USA as well.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_3MFIHNHEE24KDKQRWM2TF6STNI Mike M

Thanks Microsoft for having a great vision of revolutionizing live and on demand content delivery!  Between Netflix and Zune, I can’t even bring myself to watch cable anymore!  All the new content options are great, keep ‘em coming (to Canada)!

  • Anonymous

Sounded good untill you saw that it was (as usual) USA or GTFO kind of deal.
Way to go MS, forget your customers in EU and we’ll forget you too, Sony at least cares for Europe that’s why their Playstation sells so good, while MS only cares for the US and Asia it seems.

    • Anonymous

Dude. It’s your own EU laws that prevent this. Not business. Get it straight. Ignorance doesn’t suit you.

    • http://twitter.com/jrb jrb

27 of these apps are available in at least 1 EU territory.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=506431441 Jason Scarpelli

I don’t have Kinect, and don’t plan on buying it anytime soon. Would that affect me using this new update at all?

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_6PFTKNXJ3H7HVDR4KG7DJJJIC4 Eric

So… HBO GO? Does that mean I need a full premium cable/satellite subscription just to watch their stuff on my 360? What’s the point in that???

    • Anonymous

Most of these apps needs a paid subscription through them. Which is pointless, why would we watch it on the Xbox if we already have it elsewhere?

      • http://twitter.com/SkodeDickinson Francis Dickinson

Why watch LoveFilm movies on my tiny PC Moniter when i can instead watch it on my big HD TV through my Xbox 360? Its easy to see why i would prefer that.

Who care’s considering a good segment of 360 users who are unfortunately Time Warner Customers still don’t have FULL ACCESS to the ESPN APP.

Time Warner sucks big time for not giving ESPN service…

Ok so when is the Preview Program going to be available I am dying to preview this.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bartłomiej-Olszanowski/100001791529840 Bartłomiej Olszanowski

20 countries and where the Polish?

  • http://twitter.com/mauriliocm Maurilio C.

” YouTube – Available in 22 markets” – Which are? Is Brazil included?

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_V4IXAZAEIPNZBWS3RPSCA53EL4 I_tickle_fat_kids

This would be awesome if Xbox Live included subscriptions to these services, but you gotta pay just to even have a chance to use these on-demand services..  Like why cant my Xbox Live subscription include a subscription to Netflix, Hulu, etc?  We get charged for Live, then we still have to pay a separate subscription fee for Netflix..  Thats pretty lame.

    • aStrangeDisease

It’s not very expensive. Netflix is $8/month and Xbox Live is only like $5/month. Cable TV is $50-$100/month or more. So is internet. And electricity. Etc.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=506431441 Jason Scarpelli

5 dollars a month for Xbox Live??? LMFAO Don’t think so.

        • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1253773051 Sam Ram

Nope, he’s right. $60/yr. for Live Gold, which breaks down to $5/mo. And that’s not including the killer renewal discounts Microsoft offers (my year was $39.99 this time around, and who knows what it’ll be by the time I need to renew again).

          • Justin A Stewart

I could be wrong but it may be your price from now on you may want to call xbox to see. I know the deal I have is a recurring locked in price for me every year unless I cancel which will not happen.

  • aStrangeDisease

Some good news for Canadians. Disney, Crackle, RODO,  YouTube and more. Not sure why people are complaining. We also just got Zune Music here finally. Add all this to Netflix and Zune marketplace and we get a lot of good content.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=506431441 Jason Scarpelli

Ok. I tried this twice and I nobody is answering me… I kind of need to know an answer. By not having kinect, would that affect me using this new update at all?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1253773051 Sam Ram

More than likely, Kinect will continue to give enhanced features rather than transition to a necessary piece of equipment. So it probably won’t affect you by not having a Kinect around.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=506431441 Jason Scarpelli

        Sweet….thanks :)
