Xbox LIVE Public Preview Program *UPDATED*

Update: Registration is now closed. See the note at the bottom of this post for details

At E3 we announced the new Xbox LIVE dashboard which will deliver intuitive navigation, increased responsiveness and improved engagement with Xbox experiences – all beginning this holiday. Now that our work on the dashboard is almost complete, we are announcing an open call for all Xbox LIVE members to register to participate in a preview program to help us test the system. This is an important program as we continually strive to ensure the reliability of a service that reaches tens of millions globally. We could not do so without the ongoing help of our great community. 

Once this program is kicked off, an update will be pushed to your console that will contain select dashboard features, including:

    •    New design for integrated Kinect and controller navigation
    •    New Beacons to play online with friends
    •    Deeper Facebook integration
    •    New Cloud Storage for Game Saves and Xbox LIVE Profile

Other features and entertainment partner apps may come into view during the program period.

Note: A console in the program is expected to remain fully compatible with standard retail consoles not in the program. (e.g. party chat will function)

For those familiar with previous registrations for our program, we have a new model for registering your consoles this year.  The new model is a more automated process that should make it easier for you.  We will not ask you to type in your console information upon initial registration; once you are approved to participate in the program, look for details on our portal about how to register your console.

    My console updated but it wasn’t the cloud storage update, only thing I notice is a different icon for people at the dashboard on the freinds tab

    Nobody has the new E3 dashboard update, you haven’t even submitted/gone through the new processs to activate your console in the beta program. They are most likely talking about 2.0.13604.0 which is not the new dashboard. I do hope it is released soon, I’m well eager ;) for now, just wait P:

        Cloud Storage isn’t new as Steam had it for some time.

        Where do you think your profile is currently stored, yes its on your Xbox but it is also on a Microsoft server somewhere, also game saves in the cloud are very welcome not only so that you can play at friends houses but if you accidently delete a save, which I have done, you can get it back again.

        The icon will show up when the review program has been sent out….

      If you have (will have) any pending actions that you need to do in any connection, that you are part of. you will see an icon of a pending actions in your Connect Dashboard. Currently (related to the Xbox LIVE Update Preview Program) there are no actions pending from the participants (of this program), so no such icon is shown there.

        Go to your DISQUS Dashboard on disqus.com and log in. You then will be able to customize your profile and even edit/remove own posts on any site that you posted on.
