Gears of War 3: RAAM’s Shadow Game add-on coming Dec. 13th

New Gears of War 3 Game add-on announced today. Here are the highlights from the press release:

Today, Microsoft and Epic Games announced “RAAM’s Shadow,” the new campaign experience for the award-winning blockbuster, “Gears of War 3.” Starring a cast of characters both new and eerily familiar to the series, “RAAM’s Shadow” will deliver more than three hours of gameplay set in a storyline that precedes the events of the first “Gears of War,” as well as six new multiplayer characters, the Chocolate Weapon Set and an additional 250 Gamerscore. “RAAM’s Shadow” will launch Dec. 13 for 1,200 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, marking the second major game add-on for this year’s critically-acclaimed blockbuster, “Gears of War 3.”

Very nice!!! I love how quickly they are putting out add-ons for this game. It’ll be difficult to keep my attention with all of the other big releases on the way (Battlefield 3 and MW3), but EPIC is trying really hard and has my ear now.

  If you bought the season pass, this is part of it. You don’t need to spend any more. with these first two packs, your season pass is paid for, so everything else afterwards its like you’re getting for FREE.

      In this case with Arcade mode (along with mutators as well), quite a lot lol… campaign on this game as a very high replay… and if you got a lot of friends on your list then you’ll go through campaign itself multiple times without even counting arcade mode

Don’t you all just love how they sell us a game for SIXTY dollars, and then sell us the rest of the game within six months of it’s release for even MORE money?! What ever happened to the days when it was already in the game at release. and you didn’t have to buy DLC or Pre-Order to play it, all you had to do was play and unlock it?

And Why? because YOU PEOPLE keep praising and paying for it. And their research is so in tune to how stupid you all are, they Advertise it to death to keep it growing.   If you don’t like it, then don’t buy it. It’s as simple as that. According to your half-witted logic, DLC either shouldn’t exist at all, or it should be free, or it should only be released six months after the game has been sold for some moronic reason, and none of those alternatives are viable. Most Gears gamers would agree that we already got MORE than our money’s worth when we actually purchased the game, and you want anything extra to be free? That’s idiotic, and it’s not the way that the industry works, and insulting Gears fans that DO want DLC makes you look even MORE like an idiot. Once again, if you don’t like it THEN DON’T BUY IT!!!     Those three things you mention, all are indeed viable, well perhaps not the aspect of DLC not existing at all, but it is not a requirement for EVERY game. Also, many developers still do give away free DLC, it’s only if they are a small or struggling studio that they should require payment for small DLC packs or more specifically for content to be unlocked on the disc.
    
    And releasing content six months later isn’t a great option but certainly good for those who don’t have enough money to buy a new game every month and would like to expand their games they already own, or to give them a reason to dust them off without much effort.
    While I agree that there are plenty of great games, such as Gears of War 3 which is well worth the asking price and more, and to pay for that DLC is simply donating extra money toward a company you love. I do not agree that it is idiotic to employ other method of DLC release.

It is kinda sad how the games industry is turning more to paid for DLC on a regular basis. They were fine when they used to be the “expansion pack for consoles”, but now it’s beyond that with several addons. It does alter my buying habits quite a bit – e.g. with Gears 2 I just bought it at launch, played on Live from launch and had a great time. When the single player addon game WAY later, I bought it because it would refresh the game.

Now with Gears 3, already 2 substantial DLC packs have been announced/released… no point buying it now, I’ll just wait for the full complete GOTY edition. It means sacrificing multiplayer time as by the time I get it, everyone will be veterans. Oh well.

They’re pumping out DLC by the dozen. I’m glad they’re coming out with all this content at a fast and timely pace. About 3% upset that the Horde Command Pack didn’t come with the game itself since it was on the disc, but hey… this game pays for itself without that on it. They did a hell of a good job on it. Campaign/Arcade, Horde, Beast, Versus… pssssh… this game is off the chain.

I will be buying all DLC that comes out for the game along with all the games that come out in November. Don’t know why ppl are complaining about DLC. DLC takes time to make… you gotta pay the people that’s putting their time and hard work in creating it. You want them to do it for free? We’re talking a large corporation here. If you don’t like it, then don’t buy the DLC… or wait until like sometime late next year when they release all the DLC on a single disc. Your complaining and telling people not to buy it is not going to work… ppl still going to purchase it b/c it’s Gears 3. It’s the best (that’s out until November at least lol)

    MS will probably kill your entire electronic library for that statement. So true, though. Sucks to buy a game now and know you are buying only about seventy percent of the developer’s effort. I applaud games like Super Meat Boy that give you a higher buy point yet give you more stuff a year afterwards for free. DLC is great for publishers, not so great for consumers. Unless you consume everything and love paying for it, cheers.

Why is it that Gears of War 3 DLC can not be accessed by family members on the same console? All other DLC from other games share just fine, but Gears seems to be locked to only the original gamertag. I don’t feel like buying the same items 2-3 times to allow my family to enjoy them.
