Xbox 360 Dashboard update coming December 6th

While many of you have been involved in the Xbox LIVE Preview Program and have been busy getting an early look at the next Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE features, I wanted to let you know that the official release for the update for all Xbox LIVE members will be Tuesday, December 6th.  In this update, free to all console owners,  you will see:

  • New personal and social features including Cloud Storage for Game Saves and LIVE Profile
  • Beacons and Facebook Sharing
  • Enhanced Family Settings
  • Integrated voice and gesture controls across the dashboard and in apps
  • Bing voice search (Available this year in the US, UK and CA)

In addition to all these great dashboard features, starting on December 6th and continuing on an ongoing basis through the holiday months, a wealth of new content will be coming to Xbox 360. New, customized applications for television, movies, internet videos, sports and music will begin rolling out from world-leading providers in more than 20 countries.

    IDEAS to improve Xbox Live

    #1
Facebook integration in order to have no limit on Xbox Live friends.

I have 100 friends and I always receive new invites which I decline because I just can’t remove any of my friends.

    #2
    Xbox Live Games and Preferences

A new way to tell your friends what games you have and what games do you want to play.

Beacons are good but it is important to me to know:
What friends have Gears of War 3 or Halo Reach ?

What friends want to play Modern Warfare 3 today or for the rest of the month?

I don’t want to verify every single beacon’s friend. I need a full list.

No Bing speech for Aussies, how is it I am not surprised? Taken MS over a year to enable speech for us as it is.
Seriously what is it with MS cutting out other English speaking countries with these updates when they are time and again proven to work just fine for us using the UK and U.S settings?

I wish i could put my friends in categories according to the games they like to play.
    For example:
    Gears Dudes

    Halo Buddies

    Modern Warfare Snipers

    and so on

wow people are going to think I’m a troll but I’m really tired of dashboard updates. I just get used to the new interface when they change everything again. This last one(not the upcoming on DEC. 6th) actually made it harder for me to find what i want. Plus maybe I’m just not a techno geek(I don’t mean that in a dorogatory way so save your flames for a real troll) but most of the “enhancments” don’t apply to me or don’t interest me.I appreciate them trying to make a better experience for everyone( its good to know my XBL money is being spent wisely)but sometimes you need to slow down and improve on what you’ve established first.

Microsoft’s objective is to appeal to the masses. Most techno-geeks like interface enhancements. Unfortunately, you’re in the minority. Plus, I don’t think there’s any way to improve the current dashboard. The interface looks dated. It’s unable to adequately organize the wealth of content that Xbox Live houses. With over 40 new content providers joining the service, an interface update is essential to the user experience.

    Hi all,
I adore the xbox games and the games for windows live
but i’m in Egypt and there is a lot of Egyptian that love to have xbox but the problem that there is no xbox live and no support for us in Egypt.
I know that we are out of region and out of market and you’ve never think to sell the xbox in Egypt
But you should in your next update think about the Egyptian that love this product.

Also i’d like to add that the new dashboard and update is really amaziiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggg , i’ve tried the beta and i like very much the new update of saving on the cloud storage … but i’d like to suggest that for gold susbcribers regarding the gamertg change it’s better to reduce it more than 400MS points … 100MS points it’s enough as they have already a subscription

Looking forward to it, this coming update was the push i needed to finally sell my ps3 and move to xbox.
I’m loving Foxtel on xbox here in Australia but hoping its better integrated into the new dashboard.
