Best Sonic game of all time, and with one of the best soundtracks of all time. (JP version)

In my opinion, Sonic CD is the 3rd best classic Sonic game (3, 1, CD, S&K, 2 for me).
It’s great to be able to play this again.

I would ask for more Sega CD classics, but then again I think this is the only classic! Maybe Snatcher?

YES. Mega CD is still the only western format to get Snatcher, a port may be in order considering Sdatcher.

Now Sega know how to price their XBLA ports.

    • http://www.facebook.com/AllMeshedUp William Stephens

Sega doesn’t determine the pricing – But it is strange that their ports are usually much cheaper.

I think they may have learned from their mistake with Sonic 4′s too-high pricing.

I say think, I mean hope considering Episode 2 was rated recently…

Sonic 2 is my altime favorite but CD was very good.

For those who are questioning whether or not to buy, it DOES include BOTH Japanese/European and American soundtracks. The Xbox LIVE Arcade re-release defaults to the Japanese/European soundtrack, but you can change it before you start to play the game itself.

You can also change the graphics BACK to the original (“nostalgia” option).

Anyway… I didn’t need the trial at all. This game was a 100% purchase the day it was released. I first played this game 18 years ago. Can you believe this game came out for the Sega CD (Mega CD) in 1993?

It’s called Sonic CD but it’s not on a CD herpaderp.

The original was on a CD though.  It was made for the CD drive addon for the Sega Genesis.

I’m well aware of that, I did own one.

      Rights issues.

Can’t believe how great this port is. Controls are spot on, looks awesome, and with both soundtracks! Switched mine to the western version and it was like I was back in ’94 when I first fell in love with this game. My favorite Sonic ever.

Picked this up this morning, haven’t had time to play much though thanks to Joe Danger. So addicting.

We give a lot of flak to Microsoft – me especially. It’s nice to see this title at the right price.

The Arcade lineup has been disappointing for awhile now. Where the hell is my Sonic 4 ep2 and Castle Crashers 2? These developers need to step it up a notch.

    • http://twitter.com/Navarin Bennijin Turbo

Sonic 4 Ep2 was recently rated in Korea so that bodes well for that game’s progress and rather than making Castle Crashers 2, The Behemoth has been working on Battleblock Theatre for forever. I think it looks awful.

I’m not sold on it either atm.

Sonic CD for 400ms points? SOLD. About time! I was worried they would over price this like they usually do.

  • Robert Pendell

Nice.  This game is widescreen. :p
