    I have the game but i thought demos were free or are you going to start charging for demos with gears of war 3?  or are they free for gold members?

      They’re exclusive to gold for the first week. After that, anyone can get them.

      While I don’t understand why the Gears demo is US only, for most things, licensing is completely different in Canada than the US. It’s unfortunate but it’s just something you’d be best to accept if you’re in Canada as it’s not worth getting upset about.

    So “10-Hour Campaign” is now long enough that it’s used in official advertising text. That is extremely depressing.

    (Don’t get me wrong, I quite enjoyed Gears 3. But there was a time only a few years ago that 10 hours was still not acceptable.)

      I don’t really like long games, so I’m fine with 6-10 hours.

      Honestly, while I can’t speak to Gears specifically (have only played the original & I barely touched the campaign), I’m fine with shooters having campaigns that average around 10 hours or quite frankly in most situations, less.

      The last thing in the world I need a 40 hour Call of Duty campaign.

      Skyrim should advertise it’s 200 hour campaign.  Seriously, everyone just buy Skyrim, you won’t need any other game for 6 months.

    This game doesn’t need a demo. It sold so insanely well and that’s pretty much the proof of my claim.

      Considering  how it was marketed five times more than any other game by MS, including Dashboard ads, many people think it undersold and was underwhelming.

        Yeah right.. You just keep telling yourself how people ‘re buying videogames largely based on marketing campaigns. 

        Besides, every single AAA title was featured in multiple dashboard ads, Gears 3 had no more of them than any other big release.

          Tell companies that marketing campaigns do not work, then. It is pretty obvious they are very important into how much a game sells. The Dashboard was a Gears 3 ad for much of the Fall. Cheers.

      you don’t see demo’s of top sellers (pathetic, but true)..obviously they didn’t do as well as they hoped.
      i’m passing anyway, would’ve loved a gears 1 demo way back when, but y’all were too big for one then.. i aint helpin ya now and have passed on the series.

    Major, so to download the demo, you may want to add it is restricted to Gold members.
    I realized most demo’s require Gold and I am missing out as a Silver, but would be nice to see you list that too.

      Likely the reason that’s not listed is because it’s the same thing with every demo. It’s nothing specific to this one. All demos are gold exclusive for the first week.

    I just started playing through the triple pack as a refresher until I get Gears 3 and the graphical jump is crazy going from 1 directly to 3. Yes it’s expected but gosh… Good thing Cliff was listened to on that memory boost or things might have been different this pass year.

      1 – Turn the caps lock off, it makes you look like an idiot.

      2 – Trials Evolution is not developed by Microsoft, so it’s release date lies with the developer, not MS.

      3 – There have been some outstanding  XBLA games lately – try Trine 2 and Radiant Silvergun for example.

    Why doesn’t the ‘purchase the full game’ link actually do something more intelligent – such as link to a digital download of the full game from Games on Demand. This paralysing fear Microsoft have of offending old fashioned stores by offering downloads day and date (and priced intelligently) is absurd. Cut the cord, so to speak, it’s time to stop forcing people to buy plastic circles, and all the wasteful manufacturing, distribution, and middle man profits they entail.

    In short, grow a backbone, and move with the times. Apple seem to be doing fine with this model.

      Considering that the digital content from the first Xbox Live is no longer useable, I’d rather there be a firm commitment from MS as to what will happen to our content when the next gen hits first. There’s no reason to rush into $60 purchases with zero consumer rights at work.

      Yeah, those darn plastic circles that friends can borrow, can be resold, can be taken elsewhere, can be rented, and last for a long time without any online DRM schemes. Yeah, stupid plastic circles.
