Not available in Germany too. I liked the “first” part, though it wasn’t classic Final Fantasy it still had an interesting story and also gameplay was quite nice actually.

In my opinion, the best jrpg of this generation is still Tales of Vesperia, closely followed by DQ9 on the Nintendo DS.
Final Fantasy has simply become too…weird for me: walk from one cutscene to another so you can see a bunch of ladyboys and hooker-clad girls talk to each other.

Oh, and zippers. People really shouldn’t have that many zippers.

It’s better than the first XIII at least, and certainly better than the generic MMORPG Final Fantasy series, although so far, no RPG’s better than Lost Odyssey/Tales of Vesperia/Star Ocean have come out for the Xbox 360, and even they had big problems. Still waiting for Final Fantasy 15 to come out and hopefully not dissapoint.

Lost Odyssey had problems? I thought it flawless! Best RPG I ever played!

My only complaint is that it was overly emotional (surely I’m not the only one that yelled “STOP WHINING ALREADY DAMN KIDS” at some point), but it was genuinely difficult/challenging and I love that. You don’t see that often in a jrpg these days: A singleplayer rpg game where you actually have to prioritise speed/shield/magic shield/attack spells/dispells over normal attacks and spells because you won’t survive otherwise, even on normal mobs.

OK fair enough the kids got annoying! Even at the “will you take these kids?” moment I was like “Do’t do it! It’s a trap!”.
But the emotional stuff actually worked for me! Really drew me in! Gotta check out Tales and Star Ocean next though!

Yeah Lost Odyssey is the best JPRG of this generation, no contest whatsoever.

Loved Lost Odyssey.  Got Star Ocean The Last Hope, but kinda lost interest in it quickly (I may one day return to it).

After playing any of the Elder Scrolls games, I couldn’t stomach another final fantasy style game. I love the freedom and exploration that the Elder Scrolls games give. The only FF game I can really enjoy and get into now is the original (yes the very first one from the NES!).

Finally, moogles have returned!  Wasn’t a fan of XIII, but XIII-2 seems to be better.  I ws a bit confused about the story at first, but I kinda like the time-travel idea (reminds me of Chrono Trigger to a degree).

    Didn’t like FFXIII, but I’ll give XIII-2 a shot..Just because I miss the JRPG’s these days… :(
