Call of Duty Elite Premium Members: Your first DLC is now ready for pick-up

If you are a Call of Duty Elite Premium Member, today is the day you have been waiting for. The 2012 content season kicks off today with the following two MW3 maps available for download. These maps are available today exclusively for Xbox 360 Call of Duty Elite Premium Members only:

Modern Warfare® 3
You’ll need a copy of Call of Duty: MW3 to use this content

Elite Drop 1: Piazza Map

This seaside Italian getaway is anything but idyllic, as tight corners and branching pathways pose great risk at every turn. Close-range combat dominates, and the team that best utilizes flanking routes will most often come out on top. Attacks from behind, above and below are an ever-constant threat. Keep up your awareness and don’t get taken by surprise.

Elite Drop 2: Liberation Map

A militarized Central Park stretches across a vast landscape, ripe for long-range sniper and LMG fire. Mounted turrets on either end lend power to anyone brave enough to expose themselves in exchange for deadly firepower. Plan out your movement and always be aware of nearby sightlines to avoid becoming fodder for the enemy.

Remember: If you are already a Call of Duty Elite Premium member, these two maps are included in your subscription. Just watch the video below to find out what you need to do.

Call of Duty, Xbox 360, Xbox Live By Larry Hryb, Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson

When will the PS3 players be able to buy it? One month after Xbox users?

    • http://twitter.com/ShortTompkins Jason

why aren’t you asking the PlayStation equivalent of Major Nelson this question?

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Emanuel-Correia/1358375348 Emanuel Correia

because they don’t have someone awesome as Major

        • http://twitter.com/GreenMistt Miller

Lol Major is ignorant and pretends he can’t see the comments. Major is far from awesome.

The call of duty map packs are 4 week timed exclusives.
So, yeah, in one month on ps3 and pc.

Then PS3 non-elite members will have to wait another month after that just for the OPPORTUNITY to buy full priced DLC? Wow, Activision is full of themselves.

Frankly, I just LOL.  This is the LOVE that Activision and CoD has in store for you.  Pony up $50 to be Elite, or you have to wait until… sometime later when you can buy the DLC.  Great idea, Activision.  Other subscription models introduced (GoW3, Forza, among others) at least give the ‘members’ a discount, but gives everyone access.
Gotta love it when overwhelming success goes to your head (err… wallet?  Not sure which is to blame here…)

First CoD I won’t be buying any map packs for after finding out that unless I drop $50 for Elite I have to wait until March.  I’ve never ended up buying all map packs for previous CoD’s, so dropping $50 makes zero sense.  Not your best move Activision.

You weren’t smart enough to buy the hardened edition. duh

Gee thanks for making me watch a 3 minute video on how to download the maps instead of using actual words

  • fsdfg dsfds

LOL i still havnt even DL elite, never will, BF3 is 100x better in every way

    • http://twitter.com/CarnageRules Joseph Sears

yeah okay. The sheer number of players on BF3 prove that. hahahahahahahaha

There is more of a population that likes Justin Bieber than many other artists. So basically, according to your logic, Justin Bieber is the best, right?

        • http://twitter.com/CarnageRules Joseph Sears

          Its all about numbers, son.

      • fsdfg dsfds

HAHAH theres more player on CoD because you noobs cant handle BF3, its as simple as that you just got no skills

Most people would much rather not be EA’s buttmonkey.

          • Anonymous

So instead they would be Activision’s “buttmonkey”?

          • http://twitter.com/Sleaka_J Sleaka J

EA has the history of destroying the franchises people love, not Activision.

          • Anonymous

Activision has a history of milking franchises to death and being greedy. So no matter which game you play…you’re going to the “buttmonkey” to a greedy corporation.

          • http://twitter.com/Sleaka_J Sleaka J

And yet, the EA hate is stronger than Activision hate (Which nobody even hears about). Origin anyone?

          • Anonymous

Sleaka J: What do you mean hate that nobody even hears about? People complain about Activision all the time. There are people commenting in this very post complaining about them. People know the name Bobby Kotick because of how greedy he is. You’re starting to sound like a CoD fanboy now trying to pretend Activision is a good company and EA is evil. Both companies are greedy and disliked.

        • Anonymous

As someone who plays both games, BF3 has players just as dumb as CoD players. So what are you talking about?

So is it true that the Elite DLC is locked to only the owner of the elite pass and is not working the same way regular DLC works (ie locked to console and purchaser). And while I’m posting Major can we please get DLC associated to all members of a Family pack. The amount of unhappy kids the single console/user policy creates is just demoralizing. We have a shared xbox and 2 kids xboxes, but because of the way DLC works I’m forced to install it on the shared system, which just creates fights, literally.
