mmmm…… ive been thinking bout getting a new pad lately,   my analog sticks r getting a bit sticky and the bumper buttons have a working rate of about 75% when pressed, which is getting really annoying for throwing frags and flashes in mw3. HOT DAMN look at that silver chrome pad!!!!   it looks like heaven on a pad.  seeing this ill probably wait though to get 1 of these.

Think about what fingerprints to to the screen of a tablet or iPad, then think of what these will look like after 10 minutes of playtime.  Not too shiny!

wouldnt fingerprints be a concern on this one? id imagine even just after a few seconds, you’d need to wipe chrome areas immediately to maintain the clean shiny look.

Are these controllers going to include matching rechargeable battery packs? I’d hate to ruin the appearance with a black battery pack, and I don’t want to deal with AAs.

Probably not.  Ifyou look carefully at the pictures it looks like the colored chrome piece is just the upper shell part.  The insert on the bottom edge is black, the battery case is black and if you look at the bottom of the wings where the bottom half and upper half come together, that also looks black.  So really my conclusion is that just the upper part of the shell is is chromed, the rest of the pieces are all standard black plastic.

The entire controller is not Chrome.. only the front shell of the controller is chrome.. the rear of the controller is still grey/black (matte) so the battery pack wont mess up the appearance

Do these come with microfiber cloths for polishing after use?  O_o

  • tabicat

They look nice in the pictures, but they’re too expensive, and I bet they get scratched and smudged easily.  I think I’ll pass.

Microsoft, just give up.  You’re not Apple, please stop trying.  I’d be more impressed if you used your resources to put an end to the “online pass” garbage, instead of overpriced baubles like these.

wat. these MSRP for the price of standard PS3 controllers. You’re right though, the glut of multi coloured iDevices has reached its climax, they release their main products in up to 2 colors, Microsoft thinks they’re upping the ante by doing 3? MADNESS.

There’s no amount of sarcasm to address that assessment of online passes.

interesting, surprised this has not happened since the XBOX v1 days…. :/ lol

I hope the left and right sticks aren’t degradable after long use.

Chrome controllers been out for awhile if you buy them modded from Xbox mod controllers sites or ebay so nothing new and pulse if you know what you are doing you can buy a chrome shell from ebay for 15 bucks and replace your old matte one
