Dash Text: (Online Interactions Not Rated by the ESRB) An unusual, unique and wacky pitching action game is coming to Kinect and the name of the game is Diabolical Pitch. A former pitcher now outfitted with an incredibly powerful bionic arm finds himself in a run-down, dark, and twisted amusement park. The night gets strange and intense quickly as you must use your pitching skills to survive the game of your life. Charge up your diabolical pitch to wipe out all the enemies crowding towards you. Power-ups give your throwing arm insane abilities that will give you the edge against huge mobs of enemies or even the mostfearsome boss. Kinect turns your room into a playing field and your Diabolical Pitch is the main attraction.

    3.0 from Gamespot.

Kinect games will never advance beyond the genres of Dancing and Minigame collections.

Judging from metacritic, the only source that gave a positive review was “Official Xbox Magazine”. That made me lol.

Despite I’m with you about the dancing/minigame collection comment (sadly it’s true) Gamespot’s review was kind of harsh; while most of things the reviewer says are true he has no sense of proportion. At all… i.e. he wrote that diabolical pitch is an one minigame compilation game. Then what was Time Crisis? no accurate controls (yet they work), check. Look at both reviews. Diabolical pitch got a 3, Time Crisis a 5.5 and if you look to previous installments, scores creep to 7.

Sure has its flaw (flaws, fllaws everywhere!) but it delivers the same feel that some arcades did 20 years ago and that’s not bad per se.

I’d rather stick to metacritic score  than pick the lowest score from someone who is lately giving harsh reviews trying to re-gain prestige (gamespot are the guys who fired someone giving low scores to a promoted game leaving clear their policy; give us money = decent score)

On my side, the game is average-good for few moments. Both mechanics and kinect get you tired after short time of playing, but don’t think that would prevent anyone willing to come back playing it again later on.
