    The only thing in there that interests me is the Forza car pack & I’m still a little annoyed that it’s not included in the season pass so I probably won’t be grabbing that. I’ll save my points for the Porsche expansion later this month instead.

    DoTW should be done through a voting system. What the people want discounts for, they’ll get it. After that certain thing goes on DoTW, it is put at the back of the line again.

      Major, if you do listen to the community like you say you do, then listen to this guy ^ – this and of course, everyone else’s ideas and feedback. Is there some sort of unwritten rule as an MS employee where you can’t collect feedback? It sure seems like it =/

    Terrible deals.
    I can’t really say I find fault in the quality of the content, but these have been so done to death that it stops making sense.

    I understand new people are joining XBL constantly. However, they most probably are not playing the same old games. Furthermore this just frustrates your faithful user base (6 years here).

    Why does not MS just implement another type of deal alongside the actual DOTW? Something like “From the Vault” or along those lines. Content older than 18 months. Or just do a permanent plain price cut on this type of content. You must have some data to make decisions like that.

    Content newer than 18 months should be DOTW and maybe put up polls so people can vote. Don’t repeat them so often and that will make them more coveted.

    Anyway, just my 2 cents. I just wanted to be constructive (and vent a little).

    So very disappointing, again. You seem to only put stuff on sale that is totally outdated and redundant. Seriously, who plays the original HAWX or Endwar?

    Do you not want people partaking in Deal of the Week? Put out stuff that is actually relevant and people will buy it.
    Also, this DLC is years old and should be permanently marked down, not put on sale four or five years after release. What a joke.

    And 90% of the people who own BF3 already own, by default, the Karkand map pack.

    Well folks, at least we know that the money from our Gold subs is going to “exclusive”, laughably pathetic deals, yet MORE ads on the dash, access to MP that shouldn’t even be locked away in the first place and useless Facebook and Twitter apps.

    Honestly Major, I know you’re a fan of tweeting; HAVE YOU EVER TWEETED FROM AN XBOX, out of your own accord? My guess is no, no you haven’t.

    Do something about these deals Major. These days it’s seems to be only one in ten that are actually of any use to people.

      Major has better stuff to do to inform xbox fans on his own blog. He would rather talk about what he ate for dinner via twitter than use this blog as an informative site.

      And yes his defence will be “I have other important stuff on my hands” Still dosen’t answer the question why you’re always on twitter literally the entire day…Anyways i guess this is as good as were going to get it. It’s a shame Microsoft don’t support an official blog wordpress website like Sony has for the Ps3 psp and Vita systems.

        Personally, I like the setup Microsoft has for their online a lot more than Sony’s.

        BUT… the $60 they charge is absurd compared to the $50 Sony charges… you get so much more with PSN+.

       PSN+ is nice and all but if you happen to get a free game it expires when your subscription ends.  On the other hand discounted games do not.

        Just like with XBLA, I don’t intend to let my lapse… and even it does, how many (non-disc) games to you usually play longer than a couple of months anyway.  I know there are a few exceptions, but the majority… a couple of months at best.

    Obviously the retail model of older stuff gets cheaper as time goes on doesn’t apply to Xbox live. Those of us who’ve been with Xbox for years should at least get that benefit…

    I won’t expect anything else from MS anymore. After an entire month of stupid deals, I’m done. I’d rather buy some other stuff. 
    And I knew about Trine 2 being free for PS+ members, and all I can say is that this is ridiculous. Major won’t read this, and I couldn’t care more. 

    MS wants the whole market for themselves for what? This? This is what you can offer? Come on, man. I can understand a couple of weeks of bad deals, but it’s been over a month. A Month. And there hasn’t been ONE SINGLE POST that didn’t have a LOT of negative response from us. And do you even care? Do you pay attention? I’m done waiting for deals, and I’m done buying from XBLA unless it’s something really good (Minecraft?? Pffft, it’s the best way to get your money these leeches have available right now).

    And yes, I mad, bro.

      I agree with you, especially on the part that I really don’t think that anyone on the Xbox live team is taking all of this negative feedback to heart.  But something to take into account is when Xbox is running arcade promotions (like Arcade Next right now) they make the Deal of the Weeks god awful.  I had 0 expectations for these 4 weeks of deals, so there was no “let down” feeling.  Maybe we’ll get some decent XBLA games on sale in 2 weeks.

    Brutal… the DOTW is *someone’s* idea of a very bad joke indeed.   Karkland was free to most who play BF3 religiously.   I also agree with the other post about how old the TC content is for the most-part.  I assume just after the sale it may be permanently reduced, like a lot of the “deals” have been mere weeks after the promotion.   Reading through the comments on what has been given out for free on PSN really has me thinking that I supported the wrong camp after all.   I know you’re just the messenger, and obviously whomever up the chain is in charge hasn’t been listening or caring or both.   Time to wake them up by smacking them about with a trout.   Seriously, drop some of the 5 year old content permanently, especially if it is about to be de-listed.  “Cleaning the servers” sales would work, I’d have gotten all the Chromehounds stuff just to finish it off had I known that it would be gone back in the day.   I see a lot of content that can’t possibly be flying off the servers, and possibly wasn’t even doing so at release.  You have the tenure system in place now, maybe make it count for something – IE: 1 Year 15% off content 2 years or older, 2 years 20%, 3 years 25% etc etc….  Your loyal fan base that has accrued tenure doesn’t deserve to suffer through ancient content deals just because someone finally traded in their Dreamcast for a refurbished 360 and a used copy of HAWX at Gamestop yesterday. *faceDOUBLEpalm*

      All RB DLC will work on RBB, so technically there is (a lot of) DLC available for an unreleased game.
      I guess it’s just the way they organize the content.

    Who comes up with these deals? when are we going to see discounts for other games and content?

    You all seem to be missing the point of why they put outdated DotW sales up.  It’s to fuel the overpriced Games On Demand service.  It’s a helluva lot easier to see a good deal on a game you don’t have and just buy the game at the same time instead of hopping in the car, going up to Gamestop, paying THEIR crazy prices and driving back home just to play some DLC you got for cheap.  If they always have recent game deals then there is no reason to even look at Games On Demand.

       Games on Demand are expensive compared to a regular disk purchase, doesn’t hog space on your HD either.

      Seems like they just throw whatever they feel like in these deals, seeing as the new Ghost Recon is around the corner they probably thought doing a Tom Clancy DoTW was a smart thing even though the exact same deal was done last year.

    Between the horrible new dashboard with an emphasis on everything other than games,   terrible deals of the week,   over priced xbla games,    ruining themes for the dashboard I bought which are now basically useless,    and shoving kinect down our throats every chance they get instead of making first party exclusives,    I’m really wondering why I paid for gold.

    At least with PSN sub fees you get monthly free games that we end up paying for here on XBL. Shank 2 was free on PSN for subscribers but yet it cost money here on XBL

    Nice! I love that they are still doing discounts on old games… I’ll be buying the Splinter Cell Conviction Co-Op DLC since my friends and I have been reminiscing about how fun the game was and how we should get back into it and most of all I’d love to get the final 250G so the game will finally  be “completed” for me.

    So glad I decided to invest the $5 dollars a month into PS+ recently, this month I got the brand new Awesomnauts, Trine 2, Rock of ages, 2 Castlevania ps1 titles and PS2 max Payne! Not to mention the stuff I’ve had over the past 4 months or so!

    I love my 360 but its gathering more and more dust and I’m spending way less on it and I’m sure there has to be others out there doing the same thing…this has to hurt sales for them, it just has to.

    Their ignorance of the competition is just mind blowing to me at the moment

       I find it quite the opposite actually: in the past I’ve seen some great deals on Xbox “deal of the week”, but sometimes it seems like their introducing these deals when there is a shortage of exclusive games to flash with.
      Lately the deals are just plain bad (only worthwhile deal was Joe Danger) focusing mostly on DLC and crappy avatar stuff gamers don’t care about. But at the same time, the amount of new games we’re getting every week is hard to follow: Just last month we had Fez, The Witcher 2 and Trials following up on a few great months since the beginning of the year (Alan Wake, Sine More, The Splatters etc).

      The PS+ free offers are great now (the only disadvantage is being timed), and I just started paying for it myself because of the great value it offers me. But other than PSN+ I had no reason to even turn on my PS3 since I completed Journey: no worthwhile exclusive content on either PSN or retail since, while the Xbox 360 is getting a hit after hit. It was pracitcally a desert in the recent few months.

    MS is so consistent at disappointing me regarding the extremely lame deals they publish every week. Steam’s deals always give me a reason to spend money, where XBL’s deals hardly ever do.
    I wish MS would do more for their gold members than they do. I wish they would offer us a free game or incredible deal once in awhile, but sadly they seem to not care.
    I am one of those strange people that buy XBL for games, why not treat us like you love us instead of acting like we should be thankful you allow us on the system.

    FYI- Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram is also half off this week and is a sweet deal. Other games not listed are Haunt, Nin2-Jump, and Guwange. All half off, I think. Why they’re not advertised, I have no idea. VOOT!
