Skyrim’s Kinect for Xbox 360 now available

The next time you sign into Xbox LIVE while playing Skyrim, you’ll be prompted for a mandatory title update. This title update brings Kinect support to Skyim.  Adding a new dimension to Skyrim’s gameplay, the Kinect for Xbox 360 integration offers Voice Commands throughout the game including Dragon Shouts, Hotkey Equipping, Follower Commands, and all Menus (Items, Magic, Map, Barter, Container, Favorites, and Skills). With Voice Commands, quickly create and load saves during gameplay and access menus and inventories. Skyrim’s Kinect for Xbox 360 Support also adds new functionality including special map functions, additional hotkey options, and the ability to sort inventory items by name, weight, and value.     Good enough reason as any to get back into Skyrim, at least for the time being until Max Payne 3 and Diablo III get released on May 15th.

    So, the only thing that is added is voice control. Please tell me why we need a Kinect to do this. There is voice input on the controller already, and as far as I can tell, the actual audio processing is done in the xbox. So, again, why do we need Kinect for this?

    I want this feature, I just don’t want a Kinect.

      The voice recognition is built into Kinect. For them to make the game have voice recognition via headset they would have to re-program the game with voice recognition software integrated into it that they would either have to create themselves or licence from someone else, both options costing the company extra money. Why do you think there are so few games with voice recognition yet they can add voice recognition for Kinect in a couple of months with ease on a game like Skyrim?

    How do we actually use the update?  I updated my game but i dont know how to use it

       you have to “Enable Kinect” before you can use voice commands you do that by going to the setting>Gameplay and the option to enable it should be at the bottom

        Hey man, in my game that option don’t shows up… the last option is “save on character menu”… you know why? thanks ;)

    Worked very well at first and then odd things starting happening…the dragon shouts seemed to start firing by themselves even though I had not depressed RB.  Definitely some bugs to work out but the rest of the commands for equipping, quick save, inventory navigation are awesome!

    I’m confused:
    Here, in Mexico, we have the english version (ALL in english) and the voice commands are in spanish.
    Why do we have to suffer like this? It would be better to have the voice commands in english, so we would know what to say =/.
