Please let this be a good kinect game! I still can’t get my head around how they went from a controller with 60+ buttons, to a control system that uses your body and a controller! Gnarly!

Looking forward to trying it out though. Cheers.

I believe it’s a combo of both traditional controller and Kinect controls. Sounds interesting, hope it comes together nicely, downloading now!

        Yeah, that’s what I said! :D

  • Nathan

LOL, I just added S.B: H.A to my download queue.

    Does this game require kinect?

    • http://twitter.com/Protege420 Protege

i was wondering the same, i will get one with full game but don’t want to get one just to try the demo

      • http://twitter.com/boe2BE Boe2

Don’t buy it then. Send a clear signal that forcing kinect onto gamers is a big NO.

        • SomeRandomJerk

Nonsense, nothings being forced on anyone

    • http://123kinect.com Legreffer

      Yes, Kinect AND controller.

  • Hugoku

Always wanted to try the original ones, but it was cost prohibitive for me at the time.
    Well, still is!

Read some good comments from the PA folks.
I hope this is a good reason to get a Kinect.

  • SomeRandomJerk

    Very Curious

oh yeah, I already have this on pre-order. I love “Steel Battalion” and I love “From Software”. I can’t wait to see how they implement Kinect.

    • Jordan Mcdonald

      …then try the demo maybe… ??

  • Russell Gorall

It doesn’t work out that well. Not to mention it kind of has the usual three stereotypical characters in your squad, including an extremely weird take on a black guy.

It is about as good as Kinect Star Wars.

  • Russell Gorall

Anyone else notice that everyone with a comment here except for one seems to be put out by MS?

Why have the only two people who have played it come back and say it sucks, including me?

Are forum tactics by companies that obvious now?

You clearly don’t know anything about how shilling actually works. Not everyone is a cynic.

      • Russell Gorall

        Hurray for huge corporations.

I enjoyed the demo but my Kinect is plugged into a standard def TV and I could barely see a thing. (it it weren’t for the red indicator above enemies heads I wouldn’t be able to see at all) I enjoyed the Kinect controls a lot though first thing I did was raise the roof and seeing those arms made me laugh. Will probably be picking this up but I might have to move my kinect over to my computer monitor to play this.

this game will get crap reviews by crap players and reviewers. there is
nothing at all wrong with this game. i played it in the dark with the
tv as the lightsource. even change my shirt to black.

all you have to do first is check your posture. after that you have the zone where everything is. kinect may have its flaws but in this instance its user error

I loved the first game. It was gritty, hardcore, and it made you feel like you were controlling a mech. The new Steel Battalion game is technically better on graphics, but the first game had that gritty look that made it feel and made it look better, more real and the gameplay of the original was awesome. Also flicking all the switches on the controller just to start up the robot gave me a feeling of realism I’ve yet to experience from another game.

So needless to say I was REALLY excited to play the new Steel Battalion. I’ll get to the point. This game is garbage. The grittiness feeling of the first game is gone, including the graphic style. The controls don’t work as well and the overall game feels very different. The gameplay is horrible to boot and controlling the mech is awkeward. Me and my cousin were big fans of the first one, and when we sat down to play the demo, our mouths just dropped, not in a good way. Based on the demo, I’m not expecting good reviews for this game at all.
