    Halo: 3 :(

    • aStrangeDisease

It was number one for about three years and there are still thousands of players. It is still in the top 20 after nearly FIVE YEARS! That’s nothing to be sad about.

When will be indie games available in portugal?

Minecraft AND its Indie clones are one top!

  • Russell Gorall

More made up charts from Apple.

    • mcmax3000

What exactly would they have to gain by making up these charts?

      • Russell Gorall

Free iTunes stuff, they get stuffed bears, too.

      From Apple? What?

  • buried_horizon

So Magic 2012 jumps from 20 to 9… what happened?

Oh, and Dungeon Defenders isn’t in the top 20, I say good news with the way the game is being treated.

Microsoft had it on sale 50% off when they did the Microsoft Studios sale last week. I almost bought it myself because buying the game plus the expansion ending up being 600 MSP with the sale price.

I love that minecraft has gotten so far! I’m still proud of Halo3 fans for holding out as long as they have.

You know what list I’d find really interesting to see?

Games on Demand sales. Obviously while actual sales numbers would be most informative, even just a top 20 list I think would be really fascinating.

I’d be curious to know what ones sell the most, is it older games which are mostly cheaper (there are some exceptions but a lot of the older titles are in the $20 range) or is it the newer games that sell most, that are mostly full price?

    • Russell Gorall

Agreed. The prices for them can be kind of silly.

    • http://twitter.com/Superman64 Some Guy

Speaking only from my own experience…I’ve only ever bought one Game on Demand…FarCry 2. I got it since it was cheap, and it was around the same price you can get the actual disc online. I have considered other games, but there are things I always think about. First of all you can’t trade the game in. Once you bought it…it’s yours for good. Secondly, there are multiple games on Games on Demand that cost more on there than they do in stores and from online retailers. For example, Mirror’s Edge is $20 on XBL, but in stores I think you can find it for between $12 – $15. It’s stuff like that keeps me from buying more games on Games on Demand.

      • mcmax3000

I’ve also only purchased one game on Games on Demand, and that’s because, believe it or not, it was actually cheaper than I could find a new copy for in stores (GoD price was $20 and the in store price was $30).

There are a few other older games that are $20 that I might pick up at some point, which would be pretty difficult to find new copies of in stores for any price, but otherwise, I only visit the Games on Demand section when I’m looking for a laugh.

      • RockMSockMNY

I’d LOVE to use games on demand more often, but like you said, the pricing is ridiculous–regardless of the popularity/quality of the title: Skyrim has been on sale everywhere for as low as $39 new from time to time, but it’s $59 on GoD. That *might* be acceptable because of the high-profile nature of the game, but at the same time, a title like Driver: San Francisco is *also* $59 on GoD–It’s been consistently priced at $19 NEW. Crazy.

Use the menu on the xbox to do so then. Assort by top selling.

I wonder how close Minecraft came to knocking MW3 off its perch. Here’s hoping for next week!

  • http://twitter.com/killpeek killpeek

cheezuz…. If minecraft climb to #1… the thing will be HISTORICAL. Mr. Notch and his Team will need a bigger wallet. I´m only hoping that microsoft doesn`t screw everything with the DLC prices.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Alice-Lockhart/100000438939703 Alice Lockhart

Do you think Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will be on the next list?

  • fsdfg dsfds

GTA V will be #1 soon enough

  • http://twitter.com/StrikeSudden StrikeSudden

GTAIV Has to be the longest running game on that list. How many weeks is it now?

  • http://twitter.com/ScottieGOALer Scottie G

Love that NHL 12 is on top of Madden.
