Arcade, Avatar Marketplace, Deal, Marketplace, Xbox 360 Games On Demand By Larry Hryb, Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson

Magic 2013!!! Yes! 200 for Sonic CD? Damn I might buy that

  • mcmax3000

Any details on this Games in Demand sale? That could be interesting. Not much else in the list that I’m interesting.

    • http://www.thetjhzone.blogspot.com/ Tylerh1701

Red Dead Redemption is $15. All I’ve seen so far.

      • mcmax3000

I’ve never played Red Dead. That one is kind of tempting.

        • http://www.thetjhzone.blogspot.com/ Tylerh1701

I’m a huge advocate of going for the disc version whenever possible. You should be able to find a used vanilla copy of RDR for $15 at this point, and it will be resaleable if you don’t like it and won’t take up space on your hard drive.

Just my 2 cents. It is an awesome game.

          • mcmax3000

I don’t really buy used, unless the game is so old that I can’t find a new copy.

I prefer to buy a copy that supports the developers, plus, more than anything, I find the price difference between new & used not to be worth the hassle that can sometimes come with a used copy (namely the potential poor condition of the game/case/manual/etc).

Also, I never sell my games, so being able to sell it back isn’t a factor for me.

The only reason that, even at $15, I might not be willing to pull the trigger, is that I’ve never really been able to get into Rockstar’s games. The only Rockstar game that has ever hooked me has been L.A. Noire

          • http://www.thetjhzone.blogspot.com/ Tylerh1701

You’re stance is admirable and the industry would be doing better if there were more people like you and less people like me.

Anyways, I thought RDR was head and shoulders better than GTAIV, but if you are not a Rockstar fan then you may not get much enjoyment out of it.

          • Jordan Mcdonald

you would prefer not to have the booklet, case and a hard copy of the game (able to be played on any console instantly), because they mmight not be mint?? respect for supporting ppl an stuff just saying id rather have something than not…

          • mcmax3000

I generally buy hard copies of all of my games (I’ve only bought one Games on Demand game, and that’s because it was cheaper than buying the hard copy here), but if presented with the choice of a digital copy or a used copy for the same price, yes, I’d pick the digital copy (the condition of the disc is my main concern. As long as the case, and manual are there, and in mostly decent condition, that doesn’t really bother me).

          • Jordan Mcdonald

Ok cool I think we just solved it, digital copies should be equal or less than the average price of a used copy, thus letting the market decide the valvue of each game on its own worth. And if they really wanted to take away my final objection they could make it so I could download a game then put it on a usb stick and play in on another console…… offline.

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/Dan-Wood/100000249115225 Dan Wood

I got the goty version for 20 new. Great deal.

        • http://twitter.com/Sobrietyy Kyle Bundick

Just buy the GoD version.. The PoS xbox will die quicker if the disc is constantly spinning (most people too dumb to rip disc) Plus, You can play Amazing SP of RDR and then switch and play some Amazing MP on Modern Warfare 3 or BF3 and dont even got to get off your butt!!

Plus with the digital version.. It will always play even on the next gen xbox.. because if MS switch to Blu Ray or full Digital.. DVD9 discs will no longer work..

        • http://twitter.com/MaxRetroBros Max Wall

15$ for Red Dead is okay…but again for 30$ you get the GOTY edition with all the DLCs and the Undead Nightmares IN physical form copy.

          • mcmax3000

If I was going to do it, I’d probably go for the $15 version because I’m not sure I’ll like the game, so paying twice the price for more content to a game I might not like doesn’t really make a ton of sense, but it’s irrelevant anyway, because the GoD version is still $30 here in Canada, so I won’t be doing either.

    • http://twitter.com/ENich1 E.Nich

GonD will be next week, so I doubt we’d know it so soon, unless there is a leak, that is. Anyways it would be nice if majornelson list the games, if he knows them.

      • http://www.majornelson.com Major Nelson

I’ve asked for the list of titles….If I get them I’ll update the post

        • mcmax3000

Thanks Major! That would be really helpful if you can.

        • http://twitter.com/ENich1 E.Nich

Thanks Major, that would be great.

      • mcmax3000

I read it originally as happening this week, not next. That was my mistake.

Edit: Looks like the date was wrong in the previous post, hence my confusion.

    • http://twitter.com/seekul Luke Es | sE ekuL

This post is not just about sales, it’s new releases too. Those 4 GoD titles are new to marketplace, and will be whatever regional price they are. It differs, so posting a price here that isn’t universal just creates confusion.
“See the blog post I’ll make for many of these for pricing and/or regional availability.”

      • mcmax3000

I wasn’t referring to the news Games on Demand games that were released. I understand why the prices aren’t listed for those.

I was referring to the Games on Demand sales that’s happening next week (I originally read it as this week, which was my mistake), that’s listed under the sales section.

        • http://www.facebook.com/jamesdallimore James Dallimore

Wasn’t your mistake, it was put as this week by mistake, so don’t worry about having to go to the opticians ;-)

          • mcmax3000

Yeah, I realized that after I wrote that. I was just at the optometrist a couple of weeks ago, so I didn’t think my vision was going. :)

  • http://twitter.com/Vaseruna Руслан

Full week – only “Dust”, really?
I’m struck by the generosity of destiny :)

    • Thânia Santos

yes, dust already have been on deal recently…
but I wonder what’s hiding behind “personalization sales” ….

      and there is sonic cd next week, which will have a big sale boost during that week I think;
because, the other games also have been on deal recently, again, like previous weeks, … (and next weeks?)

      • mcmax3000

I would guess the personalization sale will be avatar stuff… Or maybe a bunch of different costume packs for various games that have them…

Something like that. I doubt it’ll be anything significant.

        • http://twitter.com/Vaseruna Руслан

I’m leaning towards this option, unfortunately…

          • http://twitter.com/Bazzer247 Nathan Stevenson

It however claims it’s several publishers, I would have thought Microsoft count as the publishers when it comes to Avatar items.

          • mcmax3000

The game publishers are considered the publishers for the Avatar stuff that is tied to their games.

        • http://twitter.com/Navarin Jim E. Rustler

It’s themes and gamerpics and Avatar items and other stuff nobody should buy ever.

  • Jose Manuel Sanchez

    U U U U U Ultra tra tra tra tra ttraaaaaa LAME!!!
Really Xbox?!? (+ Major Nelson)… this is the Xbox update just after E3?? Just for the Marvel Pinball Expansion.. but all the other stuff.. come on!!!

Tip: What about a really good B to A games, like Marvel Ultimate Alliance or the return of classic arcade games.. I dunno .. you can do it better.

  • http://twitter.com/nikito122 Nico Pareja

what are the Personalization Sale and the GoD on sale?

    • Russell Gorall

Personalization is most likely Avatar stuff on sale.

  • Hugoku

Sonic CD for 200 is insane. Everyone should get it on a whim.
And From Dust was already DotW? Don’t remember but it’s a great game.

Need to find details on those GoD titles. Better not set expectations too high though.

    • Z4M0

FROM DUST have been on sale already (once) at 33% off. I was expecting a 50%. I want it badly but again I’m no cow that drops its poo where/when nature calls. I have principles and enough backlog to back them up, so I’ll wait till 50% discount or backlog shortage, wichever comes first.

      • http://www.justechn.com Ryan McLaughlin

I tried the trial and it seems fun, but not for 800 points. I am waiting for 400 points (which may never come). I worry about the day when all games are distributed this way. It really seems like prices don’t drop very fast like they do for disk based games.

  • http://twitter.com/Vaseruna Руслан

I think to wait for details (about GoD) on TA

That happens when dealing with huge corporations trying to deal with their customers. They usually implement skills learned from the Nazis.

  • Vagner Ranieri

Why don’t you lower the price to change the gamertag name? 800mps is too expensive for that.

    • mcmax3000

I’m ok with that price. The lower the cost, the more often people do it, which can get really annoying.

800MSP is high enough to discourage doing it often, but low enough that it’s not horribly outrageous if you want to do it once or twice.

    • http://twitter.com/Vaseruna Руслан

I, honestly, do not see why they should take money for it.

      • Hugoku

I guess it’s better than not allow it?

        • http://twitter.com/Vaseruna Руслан

Yes, definitely :) But, tax on the air, too, has not yet introduced

  • http://twitter.com/Navarin Jim E. Rustler

  • http://twitter.com/lightsup55 Timothy

Hi Major Nelson, what is included in the Personalization Sale?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Andrew-Barnes/1514145011 Andrew Barnes

whats sad is PS+ members get games for free every month yet we get discounts on games:(, ps4 here i come probably^^

    • DragonsDeck

The difference is with Xbox is if you purchase those games you OWN them, if stop subscribing to PS+ you lose acess to all those games.

      • http://twitter.com/monkeytommo Thomas Ryan

True. However, you pay around £40 for a year of PS+ and roughly the same for a year of Xbox Live Gold. With Xbox live gold, you have to pay EXTRA for games on demand (usually at over inflated prices) but on PS+ you don’t have to pay extra! Also, you still have the option of buying the games from the PS store as well… The choice is totally up to you.

Xbox Live Gold really needs to step up here, I have an Xbox and a PS3, but I’ll not be continuing my gold subscription when it’s up in August. PS+ is simply a better deal.

        • http://twitter.com/GaussBb Bradley

          ^This.
          Give this guy a medal.
@DragonsDeck:disqus Please, that isn’t even a valid argument. You don’t get anything free with XBL, do you? So don’t be so ignorant.

          • AdaptorLive

He just pointed out the truth, nothing to do with arguing. If you think renting games you don’t even get to choose is ‘free stuff’ then you yourself are a little ignorant. PS+ is a pretty good deal but there’s no need for people to make it look better by leaving out important details just to ‘win’ an argument. I like both PSN and Live but you get what you pay for and Xbox Live is still in a league of its own.

          • Russell Gorall

Never mind Adaptor, once someone tried to give him something extra and as a consumer he hated it.

          • AdaptorLive

Oh man, this is almost becoming funny. For the last time. You’re not getting something extra, you’re getting something in return for your subscription fees… You’re doing my head in man, lol.

          • http://twitter.com/GaussBb Bradley

            Then stop commenting?

          • DragonsDeck

It isn’t free though, you have to pay a monthly fee, you don’t be ingnorant.

          • http://twitter.com/GaussBb Bradley

I’m sorry, I must’ve missed out on those free game or rentals, XBL get with gold subscription.

          • DragonsDeck

Why do people expect everything for free? You are paying 3 dollars a month for a service, such as Multiplayer and Access to Apps and sometimes you get thrown some extras in terms of sales and such. It’s never been MS’s business model to give away stuff for free and that’s perfectly fine. If you like there are plenty of other companies out there that will give you plenty of free games and things. Playstations business model is different, think of it more as a game rental service than a online multiplayer service, and if thats something that appeals to you, all the more power to you.

        • DragonsDeck

Gold and Plus give different options, Plus is more of a content driven subcription, it’s like rental service, you pay for it and you are given access to certain free games. Gold’s first focus has always been fluid online Multiplayer. And you can usually find it for 35$USD quite frequently, so 3$ a month and if it says me 10-20 or more a month on games, thats a win for me.

      • Flawless

with PS+ if you purchase those games you OWN them also.

before trying to reply with a witty remark reread what you typed.

So your still not letting Farsight release the DLC for Pinball Arcade on 360 ……

    • Volitar Prime

I thought I read somewhere that they were trying to package it as a title update instead of as DLC which was causing the hold up.

      • http://www.facebook.com/jamesdallimore James Dallimore

What i thought they meant was that there was a game update which would create a Marketplace menu in the game so you could then purchase the tables as DLC in game and also have the DLC tables on the menu whether you owned them or not as it is on iOS. So the tables themselves would still be DLC. I could be wrong but thats the impression i got.

I really enjoyed it actually. Probably moreso than any game from SoA last year. That being said, they could have AT LEAST dropped it by 50% considering it’s the only game on sale and received a 33% off sale over 6 months ago.

    • mcmax3000

If I had the money, I would get it. I enjoyed the trial, but never pulled the trigger.

      • http://twitter.com/Navarin Jim E. Rustler

I didn’t dismind From Dust but did get incredibly bored with it. As Tyler says this discount isn’t enough. 800 is the price it should have been in the first place, not a sale price.

    • Russell Gorall

      Nay.

Ten bucks for an older Arcade game isn’t exactly a deal in any manner. I imagine looking at sales charts the game would do better if it just had a permanent price cut.

  • http://twitter.com/lightsup55 Timothy

Test to see what message appears when I comment (with link). Need to know this to email it.

    http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Promotion/dealoftheweek

  • DragonsDeck

I really REALLY hope the 75% off Games on Demand has something good in it to make up for only one game in the Deal of the Week, also still a bit upset about the DotW from two weeks ago the link descriptioin listed Kingdom for Keflings in the deal of the week but the actual page never had it.

    • Z4M0

hopefully, and with CRYSIS 3 anouncement at E3 CRYSIS will be on sale… but better not have high expectations.

  • Z4M0

Can’t believe people is getting paid for this, I meant… there was a kind of UBISOFT SALE not long ago (clash of heroes, etc.) and they didn’t include FROM DUST. Also, It’s been on sale already and they keep it up to 33% off only. CLEVER !!!

Also, posts like this are meant to give customers a clue what to expect, namely INFORMATION. What’s supposed to be “personalization sale” or what will be discounted in the GonD sale ? Seriously, this can hardly be called giving us a hint of what’s coming. I’m usually on Mr. Hryb’s side but lately XBOX COMUNNITY SEEMS UTTELY NEGLECTED BY MICROSOFT.

    Wich feels rough indeed.

Keep trying to draw in new customers MICROSOFT, with all the new tech and gadgets we’ve come to see in the past 2 years… and care not about customers you already have. Sooner or later people will ” JUMP OUT “.

    • http://twitter.com/Vaseruna Руслан

I largely agree. In my country (Russia), many began to look at the “dark side” :)

Seems like you may have reading problems, everything he was saying seemed valid and constructive. The lack of validity seems to be coming from your end.

        Happy gaming.

…on the bright side, June’s XBL permanent reduction is MONDAY NIGHT COMBAT at 800 msp (was 1200 msp). Too bad I already own it, but it’s a good title.

If you ask me, permanent price drops should be “officially” listed somewhere too.

  • http://twitter.com/Mosley704 James mosley

Can we get a list of the games on demand sale? As far a the ps plus fans on here remember the last time Xbox live went down? Yeah me neither. Remember the last time psn was down for “maintenance”? Yeah me too. As an owner of both, Xbox live is the superior service by far in both performance and customer service.

    • http://twitter.com/GaussBb Bradley

      PC is superior than both.

      • http://twitter.com/Navarin Jim E. Rustler

You say PC but you mean Steam. Microsoft refuses to consider Steam a competitor as it’s a platform rather than a format. Fools.

If they had any sense they’d be doing more sales than Steam and doing them better.

    • Flawless

PS Plus doesnt pay for online, the online component is free.

Therefore XBL shouldnt go down seeing as how it costs money

Plus i still remember Christmas ’07 when the XBL servers crashed for 2 weeks :doubleshrug:

    • Russell Gorall

Was down in late 2007 for about two weeks. Google it. That is better than the PSN outage, yet only because PSN happened much more recent.

Superior in performance? You mean it gets you a quicker download speed? Recently I haven’t found that.

Customer service? Yeah, when they used to make you call in to try and get your credit card off the console the people were nice.

The past ten days I have playing Just Cause 2, Littlebigplanet 2, Infamous 2, Tomb Raider GOL, Hard Corps Uprising, Warhammer Space Marine, Saints Row 2, Ratchet All 4 One, Awesomenauts, Trine 2 and a few others. For free.

When you expect little, you get little. It isn’t about being a fanboy for MS or Sony, it is about looking for value as a customer.

  • http://profiles.google.com/dfpg86 Décio Gonçalves

Guys, google xbldb and choose current deals on their website, it gives better information than this… It only shows RDR as one of GonD deal and it’s still 30€ over here, but my guess is that MS is still adding games to this week’s promotions.

it says $5 off on my dashboard

        • mcmax3000

Yeah, 400MSP, not 800MSP off. My mistake.

  • http://twitter.com/locolukah Rocket Slime

Playstation Plus continues to trounce these Xbox Gold “deals.”

    • http://www.facebook.com/omarwhy Omar Yassin

Except the fact that you get to keep what you pay for..

      • http://www.thetjhzone.blogspot.com/ Tylerh1701

I love how this is the only argument against PS+. It’s such an awful one.

        • http://twitter.com/Navarin Jim E. Rustler

Yeah, fact is with what PSN+ has been giving recently you can 100% the games before your sub expires anyway. Doesn’t matter if you don’t “own” it if you’re never going to play it again.
Also PSN+ doesn’t just give free games you don’t get to keep, it offers discounts on games you do. By and large these discounts have become greater than what MS begrudgingly “offers”.

        • mcmax3000

It’s a very good argument. I’m not going to pay for a service that gives me free games, but only allows me to keep them as long as I continue to pay. Those games aren’t really free in that case.

I will agree that PSN does have some very good sale prices that I’d love to see more of from XBL, both for Plus & non-Plus members. One thing they are very good at that Microsoft has never really gotten on board with is permanent price drops for older games/content. MS does some, but not nearly as many as they should be.

          • http://www.thetjhzone.blogspot.com/ Tylerh1701

I can understand your point of view if you only like a select few games or only have the budget to own and play a few titles a year. But for someone like me who loves a wide variety of genres (own over 200 XBLA and PSN games) I’m probably never gonna go back and re-play the vast majority of them. So when I get them free from PS+, I just play and beat them, then don’t worry about them again. Same thing I do with XBLA games, except I paid at least $5 for each of those.

          • mcmax3000

For some people, it’s definitely not an issue to have those games tied to your Plus membership, either because they’ll never go back to them, or because they plan on staying a Plus member.

For me, my main reason for not being a Plus member is simply because a lot of the games they giveaway/put on sale, I either have no interest in them, or I already own them (either on PS3 or 360). That’s really all it comes down to for me.

I was just simply saying that the having to stay a Plus member to keep the free games is a good argument against the service.

          • Russell Gorall

So, if Microsoft gave you with Gold the ability to “rent” out ten games all the time out of the blue as an added bonus to paying for Gold on Live… you wouldn’t even bother with those games? Just to mess with their heads for trying to let you play the games?

          • mcmax3000

@Russell Gorall: If they added it to my current service that I’m already happily paying for, sure, I’d take advantage of it if they put up something I was interested in trying that I didn’t already own.

However, I’m not going to subscribe to a service that is based around that concept like PS Plus is.

          • Russell Gorall

If they told you Gold Live subscriptions included free game rentals with the service you wouldn’t want it, but if they added it without you knowing that is what you are paying for that is something you would want.

          • mcmax3000

@Russell Gorall: I’ll try to make this as clear as possible for you:

If it was another feature on top of what I currently get with Xbox Live Gold (at no additional charge), yes, I would use it if they put up games that I’m interested in trying.

Considering that I’m already satisfied with what I get from my Xbox Live Gold subscription, if they wanted to give me more for the same cost, I wouldn’t say no.

However, if they tried to sell just that to me as a standalone service, which is basically what Playstation Plus is (I know there’s a little more to Playstation Plus, but the “free” games are the core of what they’re trying to sell you, similar to how the multiplayer experience is the core of what Xbox Live is trying to sell you), no, I wouldn’t pay $50 or $60 or whatever the yearly price is of Playstation Plus.

            Clear enough?

          • Russell Gorall

If they tried to give you something behind your back you would be irate, I didn’t even read that stuff. I got your point.

            Cheers and happy gaming.

          • mcmax3000

@Russell Gorall: So, you’re not going to read what I wrote, and then just try to put words in my mouth?

          • Jordan Mcdonald

…give it up russ, im usually on urside in this dumb discussion, but i think ur losing it man, plus i think your preaching to the choir (theyre just of a different faith)

          • http://twitter.com/GaussBb Bradley

Lolwut? You’re satisfied with what you get from live. But you don’t get anything!

Tell me, are those ads on the dashboard? They could cover the cost of our sub, or atleast remove them for gold members.
Is online gaming FREE everywhere else? Yes, yes it is; PC, PS3, Wii (lol)
Are those apps free to use on your PC (minus the sub to them)? Yes and on PS3 and Wii
Are the deals on XBL an insult? Yes.

What do you pay for? Nothing. So please would you kindly find a valid argument. Don’t say private chat/party chat, because I would like to introduce to you, “VoIP”.
And don’t say the online is better. That’s a load of rubbish.

          • mcmax3000

Yes, I personally am happy with the experience I get on Xbox Live for the money that I pay.

Online gaming might be free everywhere else, but in my experience, it’s also a pain in the ass everywhere else.

And yes, party chat is part of that, though I’m not always the biggest fan of the feature, it’s very handy, and extremely simple to use.

Also, the few ads that there are don’t really bother me. I say few, because I don’t consider the tiles that point me to other things on my console to be ads, only the actual paid advertisements for stuff outside of the console, which are minimal, at least in my region.

So yes, I’m personally satisfied with my Xbox Live Gold subscription. If I wasn’t, I wouldn’t have continued paying for it the past eight years. If you’re not, that’s fine, but it has no effect on the fact that I am.

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Zaira-Vicere/100003482240394 Zaira Vicere

Sure. And my Gold subscription gives me free online multiplayer, since by the time my Gold expires I’ll be done playing the online multiplayer for those games.

      • Russell Gorall

You are getting nothing free from Live, so you get to keep that?

If you are an MS fanboy or a Sony fanboy, getting value and “free” things or “rentals” are a, ahem, plus. If you remind companies that you are a customer and know value, things work out better a lot of times.

        Happy gaming.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Curtis-Isabell/1036013363 Curtis Isabell

omar, I get a free game to download and play. most games get boring in a month anyway. so yes. its free. I won’t play infamous 2 a month from now, so when you think about it, yes it was free. $5 a month ( same as live) for free “rentals” is much better then $5 a month for “the ability to play online”

        also
PSN+ members get much better sales then gold members, so your argument is null and void.

        • http://www.facebook.com/omarwhy Omar Yassin

Honestly I don’t want sales, I just want my provider whoever it may be, to focus on good quality service, and to be able to use that service with a console I like. Right now I am happy with my xbox live, mostly for the fact that EVERYONE I know is on xbox. And I personally LIKE the xbox controller better than the standard PS3 controller, shit I am even more keen to it than keyboard and mouse these days. If I wanted an awesome “deal” I would just buy games from steam which knocks the wheels off of anything Microsoft NOR Sony have provided, but that’s not important here.

Personally I am pretty particular about what games I play which usually aren’t what’s going to be offered for “free” or “discounted” from either of these penny pinching companies.

All this without even mentioning that xbox has landed some awesome exclusivity to titles that I plan to purchase DLC from (Dawngaurd), so it’s to the birds with a ps3 for me honestly, lol.

Time to pass another DoTW! All Sonics listed in this promotion are hugely bad compared to 1, 2 and 3… if Sega wants to sell Sonic I didn’t get the point on not including Sonic Generations.

I really hope Microsoft does a good promotion at Summer Sales… By the way do someone knows when it is the expected date?

    • http://www.thetjhzone.blogspot.com/ Tylerh1701

I don’t think there’s any such thing as summer sales. And once Summer of Arcade gets going, the sales will be dreadful.

    • http://twitter.com/Navarin Jim E. Rustler

It’s odd that 1, 2, 3 and Knuckles aren’t in the sales but you’re talking out of your backside if you’re including Sonic CD in that.

Do you happen to know if and when xbox will be putting up deus ex dlc on sale? I’d like to get them but they’re a bit too expensive for me at is.

Didn’t see it mentioned yet, but Major changed the date of the GoD sale to 6/19-6/25

    • deckardb26354

I thought it said the 12th originally but it was always June, which is the sixth month.

      • http://www.thetjhzone.blogspot.com/ Tylerh1701

Oops, my apologies. I’ve corrected my error. Thank you for pointing it out.

      • Russell Gorall

June isn’t the sixth month in a Leap Year. Also, no August next year because of poor ratings.

    • http://www.majornelson.com Major Nelson

I actually made a note at the bottom of the post that I corrected the dates (was given the wrong ones)

      • http://www.thetjhzone.blogspot.com/ Tylerh1701

Thanks, sorry I didn’t notice the note at the bottom of the post.

It looks like the Games on Demand sale was changed, it’s not June 19th instead of the 12th. Would of been nice if we got an announcement instead of a quiet change. Very unprofessional and darn rude to the customer mate.

  • aStrangeDisease

From Dust is a very good game. Definitely worth 1200 points. 800 points is a steal. How could anybody turn away a great game for only ten bucks?

    • Z4M0

people with more backlog than money, I’d say :)

  • http://profiles.google.com/dfpg86 Décio Gonçalves

“update” – What the hell? How does that makes sense? This week we get 1 arcade game deal and trash for “personalization” (btw, why would people buy that stuff since the last update pretty much hides it?), and next week we get sonic games and GoD deals? For the first time in a long time i was happy for what you guys were doing with the dotw this time and now this?

    *Ihavenoidea whati’mdoingmeme.jpeg*

  • Russell Gorall

While this looks like another poor offering, I will wait until I see what Games on Demand are on sale and for what. One thing is for sure, if I had a decision of whether to get PS Plus or Gold right now that is an easy decision on Sony’s side.

I kind of wish Xbox would set up something like Playstation Blog, I hate going to the support forums for Xbox as you are mainly getting a lack of help from sort of moderator.

    • http://twitter.com/seekul Luke Es | sE ekuL

It’s interesting, your same manner of passive aggressive griping has always been common on PSBlog, with posters constantly berating Grace Chen for poor weekly offerings and threatening to switch “allegiances”, like that matters somehow.
Really it all evens out in the wash, and you’re still supporting the industry and developers no matter which service you give your money to. The only real complaint that means anything is to give up gaming altogether. ;) Food for thought.

      • Russell Gorall

When you expect little, you get little. Cheers and happy gaming, sir.

      • Jordan Mcdonald

U assume a lot , I COULD just go to a torrent site and download anything I want play till I get banned then buy another xbox and it would most likely work out cheaper, there are allways options, don’t just accept what u get, demand what u want!

  • TheDoveOfPeace

As a Microsoft customer now for some years, I feel very disappointed with what they have done to Xbox Live, it appears over time Microsoft have forgotten what made the Xbox 360 console a success. Come off it now, MS at E3 wasn’t special, nothing of interest was brought the the table for loyal customers.

Gold membership has declined, it’s not something worth paying for now, when my gold runs out I’ll stay on silver. Why? The ‘gold exclusive’ discounts aren’t worth the price tag. Paying yet more money for online passes on top of the £40 a year isn’t practical for me. I know I know.. buy games new so that doesn’t happen, but still. We didn’t used to be here. It wasn’t always PAY TO PAY ONLINE AND THEN PLAY AGAIN. (Fuck you EA)

If you’re reading Microsoft or any man that works in the XBL area.. for gods sake make the gold service WORTH IT. Regular sales that appeal to a variety of gamers, not just the shit that couldn’t sell before or endless FPS stuff. Keep certain prices down instead of regurgitating them into DoTW a month later.

Maybe it’s just my opinion, call me a grumpy ol’ nob, but maybe it’s time MS kept up with the market. Oh, and this isn’t directed at Larry, it’s just at the moment we don’t really have a voice anywhere else. I’m sure Larry gets sick of the whining, feedback is feedback though.

  • Clattus

From Dust is a quality game that gives you a different experience from everything else which is rare nowadays. Should be half off though to be an actual deal. Xbox deals have been really cheap lately.

  • Volitar Prime

I’m glad the Avengers tables for Pinball FX2 are finally coming out. I have been excited about them ever since they were announced back in March.

  • deckardb26354

Have to say i’m actually quite hopeful about a decent Games on Demand sale. My brother’s always pointing out Steam sales that are always immense. 75% off, depending on the game could be great. Only other thing that needs sorting with Games on Demand is the lack of Online Pass/Bonus Content codes that come packaged in the new retail games

    • Jordan Mcdonald

really?! wat g.o.d has a online ransom pass?

      • deckardb26354

Eh? If you purchase for example Battlefield Bad Company 2 from Games on Demand you won’t have access to online features because it requires a V.I.P code to unlock multiplayer. Which only comes in new retail versions box.
