Arcade, Deal, Game Add-on, Xbox 360 Games On Demand By Larry Hryb, Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson

i have come to the complete realisation that i pay my gold fees purely for cod. and since i love cod 1000% thats y ill pay the gold fees …. to play my fav game online. all these exclusive gold offers are an absolute joke. they should b ashamed of themselves.

  • Riddick Snipes

if you have already bought your points and there just sitting on ur xbox they already have your money. sucks i know i myself have had 7500 points sitting on my account for 4 months! i sure ill use them……… but when? gimme jet set radio if these deals stay this bad they will probably be used on halo4 and gow judgement passes if they have any.

  • Sam Taylor

They are not our god given right. They are however an advertised part of the service, and the deals are usually not just terrible, but insulting.

Constantly re-used, DLC for old games/games which didn’t sell (which were overpriced in the first place) or just a general lack of options.

I know PSN+ is there purely for the deals, but it really has just shown how bad a service xbox live is. The god awful UI, constant adverts, lack of new disk based games along with a host of other issues is just unacceptable, and when other options are open, it puts it into perspective.

The reason I use my 360 a lot more than my ps3 is down to the fact that the people who I play with are on the 360. I use skype anyway for party chat as I feel it to be a lot easier to use, with better sound quality, so one of the big ‘deal breakers’ has no effect on me.

Sure, the xbox brand is doing very well now, and that is because it has spread its appeal. No longer is it the ‘hardcore gamer’ (I hate that term…) option, but one used by families for a media centre experience. This is not what the people who have been with the xbox since the start want, and we are angry.

They have lost a lot of good will to cater to the fickle ‘casual’ market, which is very hard to get a stronghold over for a quantity of time.

When we are getting angry about the deals, we are just venting out frustation at the whole service, with the deals as a vocal point. Bad deals but great everything else? Meh. Bad deals and terrible user experience? Garh!

Or at least, thats my take…

What happened to the Scott Pilgrim DLC? It’s been removed from the list.

  • Fox E Salazar

MS needs to make Multi player Free and have gold for just the deals. Be more like Sony. Otherwise people aren’t going to buy the 720 when it comes out next year.

    • Cleiton Santos

Because MP alone dictates why people buy 360s/PS3s…

  • Martinez Torres Manuel Enrique

Am I the only one who noticed that they took away the Scott Pilgrim vs the World Wallace + Online DLC… I know it was date don August 17th…

  • Fernando Coli Viotto

Hey Ken, I agree with you at some degree but although we have some crazy people wanting “everything for free” as you said which I also don’t agree, but most of the comments here are very focused on 3 main issues:
    – Microsoft have a very descent game database but very few games offered during weekly promotions;
    – Repetitive weekly deals (Examples: Borderlands, Red Dead Redemption, Fallout 3 DLCs) and adding this fact to the issue above, we literally waste another week, from around 52 available, with the same deal again (Again very few deals per week currently available);
    – Major Nelson isn’t providing enough comments about complains from community in regards to Deal of The Week not being good enough,

As a matter of fact I see people that bought thousands of MS points being prevented to expend them by, which most people agree, bad sales available.

Will someone please tell me why all info of the Scott Pilgrim Game DLC has been wiped from exsistence?
This is the THIRD time this has happened. First with the actual release of the game and second with the Knives Chaue DLC.
I bought this game for 2 of my friends last night and we all sat around til 3 in the morning for the DLC to show and now I look like the effing idiot.
This is not the way to treat your fans. I may be THE biggest fan of this game (at this point probablly the only one left) and this is how you treat me?!?!?!

Apparently everyone working at Microsoft and Ubisoft have not a Fu**ing clue.
    This is Strike 3.
I don’t think I will be contributing to XBLA anymore.
I am so so so unbelieveably dissapointed.

    • Brandon Break

I bought the game on an old gamertag back in the day, lost the gamertag and didn’t rebuy it cause it didn’t have online co op. I bought it again last night, and also waited for the new DLC and was also thoroughly disappointed. I feel ya buddy.

    • Alexander Kruszynski

Same here, I bought the game for myself and one of my friends hoping to be able to play with them but now I just flushed that money away and we’re bored with nothing to do. I was fully ready to hand over some more of my money for the DLC but you dun goofed this one up good.

    • Brad Lavender

The listing for the DLC vanished a couple days after this was posted. I think I even mentioned it elsewhere in the comments. Ubisoft posted a press release today explaining the DLC was delayed.

In short, Ubisoft’s to blame. Major Nelson pulled the DLC listing from this update as soon as he knew it wasn’t coming out.
