Update: NBA Game Time is now available in all Xbox LIVE regions

Lots happening in the Xbox ecosystem these days and today we’re excited to bring NBA Game Time to Xbox LIVE.* Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers in the U.S. now have access to their favorite NBA teams and players anytime right from their Xbox.

NBA Game Time is available in the U.S. and offers the following unique features:

  • Live Games, Highlights, and Replays in HD –You’ll have access to every live regular season game, available in HD. All the games are available in replay, so you can watch on your schedule. And, if you’re short on time altogether, watch the condensed game recap in less than 10 minutes, or just take in the quick highlights.
  • My Teams – Obsess over your favorite team and get up-to-the-minute stats on your favorite players. With NBA Game Time on Xbox 360, getting to the details is quick and easy. And to make sure you are in the know, add 4 other teams to follow.
  • Stats & Standings: Want to know what’s going on around the league? With Stats & Standings, find out which team is leading a conference or which players top the leaderboards in PPG, RPG, and more.
  • Scores & Schedules – NBA Game Time on Xbox 360 gives you quick access to the scores you want and the schedules you need – right on your big screen. Feel free to turn those scores off too – so you can catch up on your game a little late, without the spoilers.
  • Mini Guide – The mini-guide gives you a quick preview of all of today’s games right at the bottom of your screen, and makes it easier than ever to switch between games.
  • Split Screen – Watch two games at once, or watch a live game on one screen while you catch up with highlights or a replay on the other.
  • Voice and Gesture Control with Kinect for Xbox 360 — Focus on the court instead of looking for the remote. Navigate through the games, skip to the next quarter, or play, pause, and rewind that buzzer beater…all with the sound of your voice or the wave of your hand.

With the addition of NBA Game Time to the existing lineup of sports partners – including ESPN, UFC and MLB – Xbox is taking live sports on TV to a whole new level with personalization features, deeper interactivity, and social connectivity found only on Xbox 360.

NBA Game Time launched in the U.S. today, with availability in all Xbox LIVE countries following shortly after.

*NBA Game Time requires a valid Xbox LIVE Gold membership. NBA.com League Pass Broadband subscription required to access live and on-demand games (sold separately). Blackout restrictions may apply in some markets. See xbox.com/live and nba.com/xbox for additional information.

    MLS next, please!

I’d love to know why the NBA doesn’t make this available internationally, bearing in mind they offer the subscription but only allow it to be watched via a PC monitor which is bs.

Edit: My bad, it says it will follow elsewhere shortly after. I’ll wait and see :)

Any idea on UK release…are we talking days or weeks? As in before the season starts

    • http://www.facebook.com/CatinaBoat Matthew Bates

I would like to know this also

  • http://twitter.com/jrock3x8 Jason Williams

come on NFL – jump in!

  • ChintuPatel

    not free

    • Russell Gorall

Are you talking about needing Gold for it?

      • ChintuPatel

u need gold and league pass subscription

        • Russell Gorall

Yeah, I see now. Seems like everytime they release something like this I get really excited, until I realize what it is.

So, if one has already paid for an International League Pass, will this be free?

Any idea when it’s available in Australia. Must have this, been waiting ages for it to happen!!!

    Sweet.

Until they stop with blackouts, I can’t see these types of services having much of an audience beyond the most hardcore of fans.

For example, I’m a baseball fan, but given that the Toronto team is blacked out in all of Canada, I can’t find a reason to ever pay for the MLB service since I wouldn’t be able to watch the team I really care most about.

    • Russell Gorall

I was at a private event at E3, closed to everyone except myself and Dora The Explorer, and Bill Gates said baseball sucks.

      • mcmax3000

        Must’ve been an interesting event.

Yes, please work with Int. League Pass. Could be so awesome. Can’t wait.

  • Russell Gorall

That is awesome. Really, really awesome.

    more junk YAY

    • JoeGrahamcracker

I agree it’s getting pretty retarded.

  • Ryan

    Two things:

    1) When’s this coming to Canada?
    2) Can we get something like this for soccer/football (preferably with the European leagues?) Pleeeeeeeeeeease :D

  • http://www.facebook.com/AgentFlash Craig Thompson

That just means that some nba games which are on demand will cost extra. Also nba league pass is sold separately anyway, so you buy it and then watch it on any device that is compatible. Which is now including Xbox, no mention at all of having to pay for NBA app. But until its release in the UK I can’t check

When is Australia even getting this? The season starts in a week, is it too much to ask that we get it before then?

5 Installments of $39.99 or one payment of $179.99 is hardly a fair comparison to ESPN App. ESPN is for free granted it sucks most of the time but during the NBA season I can catch most of the games on replay for free or the highlights with ESPN colorful commentary. NBA Game Time got me excited at first but now I’m not so sure. With me plugging in over a thousand dollars a year for games I don’t see the value in buying this package just for the NBA. Now if this were College Basketball I might be more inclined.

  • Russell Gorall

Why did you release the details to make it seem like something other than a service for a different paid subscription service?

  • fsdfg dsfds

love bball hope there no added sub tho

Hey gooseberries – it’s not Xbox that is charging you for the content. Xbox is charging you for Xbox live gold but league pass is a requirement of the NBA and none of the money goes to Xbox (unless through a separate deal, which is entirely possible). If you have a gripe about paying a large price for this content then speak to the NBA.

When will it be released on Europe?

  • http://www.facebook.com/kobehan24 Shuanglian Kobe Han

I purchased nba league pass on xbox yesterday, it looks awesome, but I don’t know why some live games I can’t watch, such as the TNT or ESPN channel, it just said it was blocked because of the national channel.
