Announcing the Halo 4 War Games Pass

Halo 4343 Industries has announced the ‘Halo 4’ War Games Pass.

Here are the details from the press release that just went out:

With the highly anticipated launch of “Halo 4” on Nov. 6 less than two weeks away, Microsoft and 343 Industries today unveiled that there will be more content to come in the months post-launch, and the “Halo 4” War Games Map Pass is your ticket to getting it all at a 15 percent discount. Stoking the excitement for launch, 343 Industries also premiered the gameplay launch trailer for “Halo 4, available now on Halo Waypoint.

Retailing for $24.99 USD2 (2,000 Microsoft Points), the “Halo 4” War Games Map Pass confirms your access to three War Games map packs as they become available in December, February and April, and represents a savings of more than 15 percent versus purchasing the packs individually. In addition, Map Pass purchasers will receive two bonus in-game helmets, as well as a unique in-game emblem.

Exploring new worlds and wonders, all three Map Packs provide classic “Halo” combat and exciting ways to experience the new feature-set of “Halo” Infinity Multiplayer. Descriptions and tentative release dates are as follows:

Crimson Map Pack (December release timeframe)

Maps: Wreckage, Harvest, Shatter

Description: Witness the chaos of a clash of civilizations in Wreckage, with its blend of claustrophobic spaces and dangerous exposures and venture into the human colony environs of Harvest, and explore a human foray on an alien moon in Shatter.

Majestic Map Pack (February release timeframe)

Maps: Landfall, Monolith, Skyline

Description: Landfall’s emphasis is on infantry battles against a glittering ocean on a distant world, while Monolith exposes you to the naked vacuum of space – and the firepower of opposing teams, and Skyline’s distinctly industrial feel provides new challenges in somewhat familiar, but occasionally confined spaces.

Castle Map Pack (April release timeframe)

Maps: Daybreak, Outcast, Perdition

Description: Daybreak is set in a military facility against the backdrop of an idyllic mountain range, while Outcast plunges you into the warrens, canyons and arches of an alien edifice, and Perdition takes players into the heart of an urban sprawl, with tactical speed and situational awareness its key features.

Also included in the “Halo 4” War Games Map Pass are two unique in-game helmets (‘Scanner’ and ‘Strider’) that feature new geometry, and an exclusive in-game emblem (‘Falcon’). The “Halo 4” War Games Map Pass is included as part of the Halo 4 Limited Edition.

  • mcmax3000

I kind of expected something like this was coming since I knew there were three map packs included with the Collector’s Edition.

I find it interesting that the news lists the price in dollars, which isn’t something I normally see in Xbox news from Microsoft. They normally stick to just Microsoft Points.

    • http://twitter.com/spikymetal James Rivard

That’s because MS is phasing out MSP. It’s old news.

      • mcmax3000

It’s an old rumour. I wouldn’t call it news yet, since it’s never been confirmed by MS.

      • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

No MSP is staying but on Windows 8 platform devices you can use real cash value transactions, MSP is staying on Xbox

    • http://www.facebook.com/robb.bagalayos Robb Bagalayos

it says “retailing for $24.99 USD (2,000 Microsoft Points)”

      • mcmax3000

Yeah. That was my point. Normally they only list a price in Microsoft points. They almost never list the actual dollar value with it.

        • http://twitter.com/paulopinheiro__ Paulo Pinheiro

It’s better that way. There is no sense Microsoft has it own currency. It need to use normal currencies, like everyone else.

          • mcmax3000

I both like, and dislike Microsoft Points. On one hand, it’s nice to have a single currency price for every region, but on the other hand, if they were to drop MS points, I’d probably start saving money, because they never adjusted MS Points here in Canada when our dollar became even with the US, so Marketplace items are still more expensive here than they should be.

    • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

well because on Windows 8 Platforms from Friday you will be able to purchase content using real currency value but on Xbox you will still use MSP, so they give both prices now

  • http://www.facebook.com/david.f.brunton David Fletcher Brunton

Will LE purchasers get the helmets and emblems too?

    • http://www.facebook.com/franubis.fur FrAnubis Fur

No, it has been confirmed by bs angel, sorry… only the maps.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=8836135 Vineet Dhiman

Would still like to get an official statement from someone at Microsoft…whether its through Major Nelson or another place.

        • mcmax3000

The person he’s saying confirmed it does work for Microsoft. She works for 343.

      • http://www.facebook.com/bernardo.camposalvarez.7 Bernardo Campos-Alvarez

        Well now your wrong.

    • Polerand

Would love to get an answer to this that contradicts bs angel saying they are separate and distinct.

    • http://www.facebook.com/irwin.guevara Irwin Guevara

I wanna know if the armor and emblem that comes with the LE is the same as the ones you get by buying the Map Pass separately.

    • http://twitter.com/Dorwrath Ω Jalil Purtow Ω

You will still unlock the maps the others get as you play. They just get them straight off the bat. Besides I’m planning to finish Legendary first and will get Mark 6 for doing it. All the other helmets suck anyway lol

  • http://www.paradigm-softworks.com/ Paradigm Softworks

But don’t we get less stuff with the LE version of the pass?

  • http://www.facebook.com/robb.bagalayos Robb Bagalayos

it says the LE console bundle includes the War Games Map Pass but doesn’t the LE game include the War Games Map Pass too?

    • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

Yes the HALO 4 LE game will come with the War Games Pass as well, but up to now its not clear if it will come with the 2 in game helmets or the emblem that buying the stand alone pass will give you, hopefully the Major can confirm this for us or not

      • http://www.facebook.com/robb.bagalayos Robb Bagalayos

yeah, I just thought it was odd that they mentioned the console bundle but not the LE game. Maybe because it can’t be preordered anymore?

        • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

Not sure, could just be a typo…hopefully the major has read our posts and is trying to clarify for us

  • http://twitter.com/Jaystaffo Jay Stafford

3 map packs? The game isnt even out yet

    • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

neither are the Map packs thats why its called DLC

    • http://twitter.com/paulopinheiro__ Paulo Pinheiro

      MS hates us.

  • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

Can it be confirmed if or not, that the War Games Pass in the LE will also come with the 2 in game helmets and emblem as the Stand alone purchased Pass will come with please?

And if not, then why not if its essentially the same pass?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steve-Melton/574790934 Steve Melton

Any word on whether any of those nine will be Forge-tastic? That’s a big sale/no-sale point for me, and probably several other people, too.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Dane-Miller/500337604 Dane Miller

HAHA they can already give us the name and a description of the maps… Which means they are already done and just being witheld so they can make more money. Gamers please stop buying these DLC’s. Speak with your wallet.

    • mcmax3000

How does it mean that it’s already done?

Telling you that a map is going to be set in a military facility doesn’t equal a completed multiplayer map.

I imagine the first map pack is probably pretty close to being done though if it’s going to be out in December.

      • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

Boycotting DLC wont bring down prices or change the nature of DLC releases….people set the prices and schedules when they rushed out to buy MW2 DLC…the damage has been done, all you can do is either buy it or not but its your own personal choice

        • mcmax3000

I think the schedule, the announcing of DLC before, or around launch, and season passes has more to do with the used games market.

They know that, for most games, they have a short window of opportunity to get people to stay invested for the long haul, before they finish the game, and trade it in while it’s still worth something.

So, they plan at least the first DLC to be out quickly, they announce it prior to launch, and they offer the season pass up front in hopes that it will convince people to keep the game long enough to see that new content (which they’ll be more likely to do if they have already pre-paid for it with the season pass… And they’ll be more likely to buy the season pass while they’re still really into the game up front, instead of a couple of weeks later when they’ve moved onto something else), instead of trading it in.

          • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

also for a season pass its good to know what your buying..who would pay 2000 msp without knowing whats in the pass lol

          • mcmax3000

Exactly. It’s a lot harder to get people to put out the money up front unless they have a good idea what they’re getting.

          • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

Some people just want to have a moan because they want to have a moan, common sense doesnt really come into it, especially as DLC is a logic of “if you want it buy it if you dont you dont”

  • http://twitter.com/paulopinheiro__ Paulo Pinheiro

Damn! I bought the special edition of the game. Now they already want more money. That’s a perfect time to use the F word.

    • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

If your special edition is the LE version then that comes with the War Games Pass included

      • http://twitter.com/paulopinheiro__ Paulo Pinheiro

“The “Halo 4” War Games Map Pass is included as part of the Xbox 360 Limited Edition “Halo 4” Console Bundle” It will be in LE Console, no information about LE game.

        • mcmax3000

It’s in the LE game as well. It’s been listed as part of the LE game since the LE game was announced.

        • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

look up the LE game on a retailer, its the first thing thats listed, the LE version of the game comes with the War Games Pass, trust me my friend

          • http://twitter.com/paulopinheiro__ Paulo Pinheiro

I see. So, don’t trying to cancel anymore.

          • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

nope cos if you have pre-ordered LE game the pass is included

  • http://www.facebook.com/thomas.brunell Tom Brunell

Oh, it’s included with the Console Bundle? Even better

  • http://twitter.com/paulopinheiro__ Paulo Pinheiro

trying to cancel the pre-order now.

    • http://twitter.com/paulopinheiro__ Paulo Pinheiro

Thanks to @twitter-230783563:disqus, Not canceling anymore.

  • http://twitter.com/sir_PING1 Ryan Graham

The last sentence is wrong I believe. 343i said that the map pass in the LE was different than the one available on the marketplace. The LE one didn’t include helmets or an emblem. Plus I don’t think the Halo 4 console ever included the map pass.

    • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

This is the first I have read that the LE console comes with the Pass as well….and I am also hoping that The Major can confirm if the Pass is the same for all bundles it comes with as the stand alone purchased one with the extra items or not, but so far no reply

  • http://www.facebook.com/tiso.spencer Tiso Spencer

Wait, the Map Pack Pass is also included with the system purchase as well as the Limited Edition of the Game? But to clarify, do we get the extra helmets, etc with the LE/System Map Pass? Is it the same exact pass?

  • http://www.facebook.com/joshua.long.5623 Joshua Long

SOLD!!! I mean come on you are talking about a man that already has 2 full cases of Mountain Dew Game Fuel stocked in a mini-fridge that literally sits only an arms length away as I type on my Halo Reach Collector’s Edition 360 Controller…hmmm you know maybe an arms length may be too far away.

  • Sadknee Clausebee

The War Games Pass doesn’t come with the console according to retailers. I think he meant to say the limited edition version of the game.

  • http://twitter.com/maurizio12 Mauricio Romo

didn’t ign do an unboxing of halo 4 console? all that came with it were the controllers and the console. no other contents were found. i’m pretty sure that the LE ($100) is the only one that comes with the pass.if the console bundle includes the pass i will be pretty angry ’cause that is giving to much to the buyer for $400.

    • http://twitter.com/eragon360 eragon360

Are u kidding me?? It is a 7 year old console… To sell units they need to bundle as much as they can to entice buyers. They should have even given the LE copy with the bundle to be honest…

  • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

Getting mixed messages now, we need some clarification. The additional items of 2 ingame helmets and emblem that comes with the Stand alone purchased War Games Pass, does this mean that the War Games Pass included in the LE version of the game also comes with these items as @halowaypoint has indicated otherwise

Also, up to now, the LE console has not come with the War Games Pass so has this now changed or is it a typo error and the console should have read LE version of game?

Major please clarify because its possible the information you have shared is incorrect or the information before now we have had from HALO Waypoint has been wrong

  • http://twitter.com/BurntDave BurntDave

am i the only one who gets bothered seeing DLC listed even prior to a games release?
i thought it was ‘added content’, not ‘stuff we already have we’d rather sell you later’
hate how this is so accepted, and OK. :-(

    • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

yes….its called planning and lets be honest, we are talking map packs not full on Story driven or Expansion pack level DLC here, its not that much of a stretch to know they have planned out MP Map packs during the games development

    • mcmax3000

As I said above, knowing what the names, and general settings are for the maps doesn’t mean they’re completed.

If they were showing us detailed video walkthroughs of the maps, that would bother me. Having a baseline idea as to what they’re going to be working on for the next six months doesn’t bother me at all.

    • QuixoticRocket

They plan this stuff in advance but only start working on it after the game has gone for certification. At that point they can’t add new code to the game (otherwise it requires recertification) so it becomes dlc. It _is_ added content and not stuff they already did for the game.
But ultimately you vote with your $s. If you really hate this practice then don’t buy the game or the dlc to show how you won’t support it.

  • http://twitter.com/Harley_Richards Harley Richards

Whats the point of having the limited edition if there just going to let everyone have nearly the same/new in game content as the more expensive version which people will have payed more for?

    • http://twitter.com/Harley_Richards Harley Richards

Just to be clear im talking about the added Emblems and helmets included the marketplace Season Pass that are not included with the limited edition season pass. Just seems that people like myself who payed more for limited copy of the game are getting kinda screwed!

      • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

I do agree that those who went the extra mile and getting the LE version of the game should get the “Full” War Games Pass and not a lesser version removing the additional items

  • http://twitter.com/MykeJayy Michael J

“represents a savings of more than 15 percent versus purchasing the packs individually”

So about 16% then? why not at least 25%?

  • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

Lack of response as ever….not impressed

  • http://twitter.com/eragon360 eragon360

Major Nelson can you please do a podcast or Q&A to clarify what EXACTLY we get with each copy of the game/bundle… I think there is a lot of confusion right now as to what helmets/emblems/map packs are included in each edition. Thanks!

  • http://twitter.com/GreenMistt Miller

In addition, map pack purchasers will receive content that’s locked on the disc you paid for! 2 helmets and an emblem. Wow.

    • http://twitter.com/paulopinheiro__ Paulo Pinheiro

If that is true. It is illegal.

      • http://twitter.com/GreenMistt Miller

It’s true. If it wasn’t on the disc you wouldn’t be able to play with anyone else who doesn’t have the helmet due to compatibility issues. Just like all the emblems/helmets w.e you get with the console and LE game. All locked on disc. It’s makes people think they are getting something extra, when in reality, they already have it, but MS has locked it away. As if ads on gold members dboard weren’t enough.

        • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

oh stop crying, locked on disc or not, its still determined as extra content…so get over it and either buy it or not, but dont whine like a child

          • http://twitter.com/GreenMistt Miller

So what does it feel like to be bent over by publishers? You know, paying for stuff you already have technically bought. You obviously have no idea what the word “extra” means. It’s not extra if you already have it. And shard, yes they could release a compatibility patch if it’s not on Disc. But, if there’s no day one patch, then it’s obviously disc locked.

          • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

well lets see…cost of me buying the LE version = £0….so I am getting it all for free anyway, man life is good isnt it?

        • http://shardsofinfinity.wordpress.com/ Shard

You know they can release a patch for that, right? It doesn’t HAVE to be on-disc.

  • Ryan

I wish the release dates were a little more spaced out. The 3rd pack’s gonna be out in April? So all the maps are going to be out in a 5 month period, whereas they could have stretched it a little bit and have the 3rd one out in May/June and the first one in January.

Oh well, now I have to split time between the first map pack and Aftermath (I think that’s the name) for BF3, which also comes out in December

  • Guest

On twitter, I received received feedback from MS: Well those are extra map packs for multiplayer, you won’t need them to get a full experience out of Halo 4

    • http://twitter.com/GreenMistt Miller

Not at first, but eventually you will. They’ll do what they did with Halo 3. Restrict 90% of the playlists unless you buy all DLC.

      • JakobWester

They need to find some middle ground here, because in Reach no one plays the awesome DLC-maps in public Matchmaking :(

        • mcmax3000

That’s very true. I grabbed the Reach map packs a while ago when they were on sale, because I had been playing quite a bit at the time, and I have never once played one of those maps, or even seen it come up for voting.

  • http://twitter.com/paulopinheiro__ Paulo Pinheiro

On twitter, I have a feedback from MS: Well those are extra map packs for multiplayer, you won’t need them to get a full experience out of Halo 4

  • Guest

Can we please have a clarification of whether the Scanner and Striker helmets and the falcon in-game emblem will also come with the map pass included in the Limited Edition. Thanks!

  • ART_Goon

There is no typo it clearly says Halo 4 Limited Edition…click on the link it shows the game not the console

    • http://twitter.com/paulopinheiro__ Paulo Pinheiro

The text was changed. Before, it was LE console bundle. It was a gremlin typing the text.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=8836135 Vineet Dhiman

Can we get a clarification whether or not the Strider and Scanner helmets, as well as the falcon in-game emblem will be available to purchasers of the Limited Edition. Thanks!

  • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

Come on Major, everyone is asking the same question waiting for Clarification, so please could you oblige us : Is the War Games Pass in the LE game as you have implied above, the same as the War Games Pass you can purchase on Marketplace meaning LE Game buyers will also get the extra 2 helmets and Falcon emblem to use or not?

    Please Respond

  • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

Xbox Support on Twitter have replied to my question, they have not confirmed it as yet, but they believe that the pass in the LE game will be the same pass as on the Marketplace so we should get the items

@CockneyCharmer I have not confirmed that yet, but it looks like it might be. Trying to dig up more info now. ^BB

    • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

Ok this is the next reply direct from @XboxSupport:

XboxSupport2 Well I have the LE Version, the only one that comes with the War games Pass, so is it the same pass as Stand alone one?

@CockneyCharmer It should come with the same content as far as I know. ^BB

So thats from MS, unless Major Nelson tweets or posts something different in his blog, as far as MS believe, the War Games Pass in the LE version of the game will come with the same items as the Stand Alone War Games Pass sold on the Marketplace

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=8836135 Vineet Dhiman

This is a promising reply from Support, but the fact that they said “they believe” rather than confirm still doesn’t give me much confidence. Only an official statement by someone at Microsoft or an update reply here on Nelson’s blog will be a legit statement. Fingers crossed. But thanks for digging up this info. Keep on going.

        • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

I agree with you but its over 2 hours and Major Nelson has yet to reply to any of us so at least a reply from Xbox support is something…I am still waiting for an official “yes you are getting the same items” post from nelson or 343 but at least its a sign it might happen

          • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

Right ignore the information above, it seems that Xbox Support have taken all their information….from this blog post, which means they are seeing what we are seeing

So suppose its now up to the Major to clarify and explain or just stay silent and tweet Felicia Day lol

  • http://twitter.com/llexan Allen Brady

I think LE purchasers will get the exclusive helmets and emblem. Since it says the War Games Map Pass includes all that, and then MajorNelson says that same pass is in the LE. I didn’t notice anything that suggested otherwise anyways.

  • http://www.facebook.com/joevsyou Joe Stickrod

Sounds like these maps are already made….

  • http://www.facebook.com/Tmayne Taylor Scott Mandel

So wait a minute. I’m paying extra for LE and now I’m going to have to buy the pack that COMES with LE already just to get two helmets and some aesthetics? That’s a bit ridiculous.

  • Lee Rayson

    everyone read this
“Also included in the “Halo 4” War Games Map Pass are two unique in-game helmets (‘Scanner’ and ‘Strider’) that feature new geometry, and an exclusive in-game emblem (‘Falcon’). The “Halo 4” War Games Map Pass is included as part of the Halo 4 Limited Edition.”
taken from the bottom of the blog post

    • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

yes thank you for that, we can read…but up to now, 343 have said that it didnt come with those items..now Nelson is implying that is does…all it would take is for an official statement by MS or 343 that says

“The war Games Pass in the LE version of the game will come with all extra in game items”…when I see that Il be happy, until it does…and as MS cant confirm it, I want an official answer

      • Lee Rayson

Sylar – id say it is the official word, Major doesn’t get the information from gossip around the office. It even says the war game pass is included in the LE, i very much doubt there be 2 different types of the war games pass

        • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

well when the blog went live for the first hour it was the console that came with the War Games Pass, then it got a nice ninja edit to show the LE game instead…so yeah, 343 saying one thing now Nelson saying something else

Official confirmation would be good, especially with so many asking for clarification

          • Lee Rayson

An im sure when Major not so busy at work he will confirm it, if you that impatient for confirmation spam his e-mail account for calrification perhaps that get his attention.

          • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

well he wasnt too busy to be tweeting Felicia Day at the same time people were posting here, I doubt he even runs this blog and its just some team member, the original typo was edited on the fly about an hour after the comments here brought light to it, and the Major has a history of “blogging” and not replying to comments made so, not suprise it took a few hours after the press release for someone from 343 to clear it up and not Nelson who shared out the press release

          • http://twitter.com/GreenMistt Miller

Major replies to emails fairly quickly.

  • Bartlett Ward III

Wouldn’t a good estimate for whether or not the LE Game and the Standalone pass are different as far as bonus content be to check the XBL Marketplace for the Pass? I don’t know if it is up yet but unboxing videos of the game have shown that the LE Game comes with XBL Marketplace code for the Map Pass. So if it’s a code it is usually either one of two things. One, there could be two different Map Passes on XBL. One that is 999999 MS Points and one that is 2000 (which I think is silly) OR there is just one. I’m sure there could be two and one is just hidden from the storefront but it’s doubtful to me that they would make them separate items. The code is likely just a voucher for the product that others will pay for separately. That’s the way other games have handled this model in the past.

  • Russell Gorall

I believe it is never a bright idea to announce this stuff early. While it is expected, I cancelled my Borderlands 2 preorder in the same situation. With that game I was right, I thought the game was pushing average DLC as a full game because you have to level up and do fetch quests up the arse. About as exciting as watching Felicia Day attempt to act or look attractive.

Not sure if I want Halo 4 after this. Why do they announce this before a game’s release? I know I am not alone.

    • Lee Rayson

wtf that about borderlands it and RPG FPS what do you expect a CoD style game.
I dont mind them annoucing future DLC, i mind when it is locked on the disk though
It not like there still developing the game, it probably been in gold now for a month or even 2 which plently time to start on dlc, i dont see what the problemis.
IF they weren’t working on DLC people would be moaning “why aint there no DLC” about a month later

    • mcmax3000

“Why do they announce this before a game’s release?”

They announce it early in hopes that more people will buy the season pass at launch if they know exactly what is coming, and a rough idea of when. They make the season pass available right at launch, in hopes that people will buy into it while they’re still super excited about the game, thus deciding a couple of weeks later when they’ve moved onto something else not to sell the game back to a local retailer, because they know they’ve already paid for all of this extra content that they haven’t gotten yet.

I’m doubtful that it works as designed on very many people, and there are certainly some, like yourself, that get turned off of the product by it, but that’s the idea behind it.

“Not sure if I want Halo 4 after this.”
Great. Don’t buy it then. Thanks for coming. Have a nice day.
I’ll be busy playing Borderlands 2 (which I love) and Halo 4.

What I don’t get is, why make Capture the Flag an escort type of match? The most fun is doing varied attacks on the base, and have one guy sneak in and try and get away. Now, with promethean vision, and a waypoint on the flag carrier, it makes no sense!
Add in the fact that Cortana dies, Chief goes to Earth alone, Didact is alive and preparing the Forerunners for all-out war with humanity, this game is shaping up to be Call of Duty: Halo Edition.
Seriously, perks, killstreak/ordnance, killcams, no friendly fire, etc.

Wtf!!!!!!!! Here in Australia it cost $30 for a 1500 point card from retailers or $16.50 per 1000 points from the marketplace.

If you’re not used to the X’Sheep downvoting anything but pure praise on big ‘M’ – you had better get used to it ;)

Anyone see the concept art? eg “concept” meaning

    1. A general idea derived or inferred from specific instances or occurrences.
    2. Something formed in the mind; a thought or notion.3. A scheme; a plan
    Anyway I’m exited :D

Thought I was the only one who actually cared about the concept art! Everyone else here just seems to be ranting!

Finally got the Official confirmation that the LE War Games Pass will also have the extra in games items, this from David Ellis from 343

David Ellis @DavidEllisFor those asking, yes, the War Games Map Pass included with the Halo 4 LE comes with the two in-game helmets and emblem.

  • http://twitter.com/Navarin Buster Wolf

Ooh wow 15%. I love Halo as much as the next guy but this season pass rubbish is taking the piss.

    • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

why? Because you can buy all the planned DLC at a discounted price? by doing so you get extra in game items? or is it because you can either buy it or not buy it?

So which part of that is taking the piss my friend??

  • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

The whole locked on Disc argument bores me. You think that because its on the disc that you own it, but its not different then buying Rock band, because a song you really like is shown on the track list but you discover you have unlock it by playing the 30 songs before it…thats locked away content on the disc, but you dont see a campaign to change that?

There is a final retail version of the game you get access too, the rest is locked away to be unlocked later even its deemed as DLC so you just purchase an unlock code

Get over it..also, comparing buying a video game to the process of buying a brand new car is always OTT and reaching

    • http://twitter.com/GreenMistt Miller

      Man, you are completely delusional.

  • Emmanuel Santos

major, try to get them to let people who purchased the halo 4 limited get the helmets and emblem too. it doesnt seem quite fair that we go out of our way to the LE and then get shortchanged.

    • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

we do get the helmets and emblem, 343 confirmed it last night if you read the other comments below

  • http://www.facebook.com/lucas.uriniuk Lucas Uriniuk

I don’t believe this is correct. I believe the Map Pass that comes with the LE will NOT contain the bonus helmets that would come with the individual purchase of the Map Pass, but I could be wrong.

    • http://www.facebook.com/bernardo.camposalvarez.7 Bernardo Campos-Alvarez

      They do, 343 changed it.

      • http://www.facebook.com/lucas.uriniuk Lucas Uriniuk

yes they did… awesome. Now I wish I had pre-ordered LE.

  • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

It never came with the War Pass, you are buying the console, which comes with 2 custom controllers, larger hard drive and a copy of the game

  • http://twitter.com/CockneyCharmer Sean T

Its cool to moan online, didnt you know? lol
