    i am disappoint

    • JoeGrahamcracker

      You suck.

  • rhooper

I expected a bigger discunt, as Valve is really flexible regarding prices.

    • http://twitter.com/Chunky_2336 Adrian Torres

but this isn’t steam so a bigger discount on xbox live means less profit for them, which is redundant since they will make up the loss on steam sales.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Curtis-Isabell/1036013363 Curtis Isabell

the price most likely has little to do with valve, L4D2 DLC was supposed to be free but MS wanted to charge valve money to make it free…

        • http://twitter.com/Chunky_2336 Adrian Torres

MS makes devs and publishers pay for DLC because they gotta make money off the bandwidth that is used on their end to host the data to be downloaded. From what it looks like a dev or publisher gets 1 free DLC and the rest they need to charge for so they don’t lose $ on the DLC, even though its suppose to be free.

          • Some guy

I heard it was because MS won’t let DLC that gives achievements go for free.
But I doubt it’s as simple as Valve wanting to push achievements so bad.

          • mcmax3000

It is true that free DLC cannot have achievements (though there have been a couple of cases where that rule has been broken), but I seem to remember hearing that the last L4D2 DLC didn’t have any achievements, so it has to be more than that.

At the same time Valve wants people buy their games on Steam.

    • JoeGrahamcracker

      Yea, well, you farted.

  • http://twitter.com/Chunky_2336 Adrian Torres

hmm…this is cheaper than CS:GO on PC surprisingly. which right now its $7.50 and on steam right now CS:GO is $11.24

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Curtis-Isabell/1036013363 Curtis Isabell

CS:GO was 7.50 on steam in the last 2 weeks, I think it was 2-3 days ago.

      • http://twitter.com/Chunky_2336 Adrian Torres

        ya those flash deals.

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Curtis-Isabell/1036013363 Curtis Isabell

it was ( at least last week) 7.50 on PSN for PSN+ members too.

  • http://twitter.com/dibils dibils

no one buy this. its a broken mess with ZERO support. regret buying it so much

    • JoeGrahamcracker

      You just suck.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Curtis-Isabell/1036013363 Curtis Isabell

I heard the game is broken on all consoles… not sure if it was fixed or not.. saving my points, borderlands 2 dlc comes tomorrow iirc hope the season pass for it is cheap.

    • JoeGrahamcracker

      You farted.

  • phillip hunter

On a different note how was everyones christmas my head hurts lol

  • http://twitter.com/ISAMU_MkII オミナエ イサム

It seems a bad game. I played the trial and when you start the game you need close the party because the game don’t allow you stay in the party.
    LOL
I pay live gold to play online, but I can’t talk with my friends?
    LOL again!

    • mcmax3000

While I understand why some people would dislike that, in games like CS, where you’re eliminated when you die, I think it makes perfect sense to disable parties, so that you can’t still talk to teammates that are alive (especially since a lot of games like that offer spectator controls to the eliminated teammates).

      • http://twitter.com/ISAMU_MkII オミナエ イサム

If you are PAYING the service (live gold), no: doesn’t make any sense.

        • mcmax3000

Preventing you from talking to your teammates who are alive, when you are not, thus potentially giving you an unfair advantage over the other team, that you are not meant to have, makes perfect sense.

You may not like that, which is an opinion you’re completely entitled to, and I completely understand why you feel that way, but their reasons for doing it the way they have chosen to do so, do make complete sense.

          • http://twitter.com/ISAMU_MkII オミナエ イサム

If you are playing with a TEAM, there is nothing wrong to give the position of the A guy, B guy and etc if you die. If the other side can do the same thing, it’s fair for the both sides.

If the makers don’t like this option, they should think twice making games like this. So is right I can’t talk in this game and can talk in Battlefield, Cod, and others?

I’m sure that they (makers) can spend the time thinking what is the best way to avoid campers and quitters to ruin the other users matches.
If you are paying to play online and talk, there is no excuse to ruin this.
PS: You can talk with other (random) players in the public lobby when the match start using the headset right?

          • mcmax3000

The difference between this game, and games like CoD & Battlefield is that in those games, when you die, you respawn. In Counter Strike, when you die, you’re out for the round. That’s a pretty big distinction.

Yes, it’s fair if both sides can do it, but it’s not in the spirit of what this particular game is trying to do.

And just to make it clear, I’m not saying that I’m necessarily in favour of their decision. I actually like when the dead players can still communicate with the living players, because that can become a meta game of its own for the eliminated players, providing info to those still playing, instead of just having to sit, and watch. I had that lead to some extremely memorable experiences when I used to play Shadowrun on XBL (which had a similar one life per round design).

All I’m saying that their decision makes sense in the context of the game experience that they’re trying to design.

“PS: You can talk with other (random) players in the public lobby when the match start using the headset right?”

I would assume so, yes, but I’m not sure what that has to do with anything.

          • http://twitter.com/ISAMU_MkII オミナエ イサム

“I would assume so, yes, but I’m not sure what that has to do with anything.”

I should made a more complete question, reading now is confusing even for me.

If the game don’t allow you use party to speak with your team, the game allow you to speak with the randoms team mates even you died, I supose.
So, If allow this will not make any difference blocking the party option.
Anyway, no deal for me so there’s no reason to extend this posts.

    • JoeGrahamcracker

      You farted and you smell.

      • http://twitter.com/ISAMU_MkII オミナエ イサム

        I didn’t done “nothing”.

Probably you used your few brain’s dead cells too much, and results the “smell” for you.

  • Russell Gorall

If anyone is interested, Walking Dead Episode One is free until the end of the month. Deals on the other episodes coming the 28th.

    • JoeGrahamcracker

      You suck.

    • http://twitter.com/harryluggins harry luggins

how did you know what deals were coming days ago?

  • http://twitter.com/ENich1 E.Nich

I thought yesterday you didn’t update dotw’s due to being Christmas (Merry Christmas btw), won’t you do it today, please? I already know this week is on sale some 505 publisher games, but would like to know the dotw of next week.

    • Lee Rayson

thanks was wondering what was DOTW

      • http://twitter.com/ENich1 E.Nich

You are welcome mate. For things like these, just go to Spylon’s site: xbldb dot com, and click upon “highlights”.

  • Petri Paakinaho

Have they fixed the aiming acceleration yet? Completely ruins the game.

  • http://www.facebook.com/Jinkels Stefan Neubauer

somewhat dissapointing when comparing xbox sales vs steam sales.
come on its both digitally distributed but steam rocks with LOTS of games to very low prices: bordlerlands 2 37€, castle crashers 12€ against 1200mspoints (now 4€ on sale).
can it really be THIS hard?

  • http://twitter.com/fcviotto Fernando Coli Viotto

    Just one game again? :(

    • Ted Jameson

Makes a mockery of the word ‘sale’ doesn’t it – if a department store offered a single product that was initially over-priced at a more reasonable price would anyone give it the time of day? The only reason this ‘sale’ gets any attention is because it’s the only show in the town (if you’re a single-platform gamer). I just find it amazing Microsoft are content to drag their feet in the face of the competition from Steam. I consider myself pretty open-minded as a gamer, I’ll go were the deals are at but whenever I ‘tune-in’ to see what the latest daily deal is, feels more like a slap in the face. Cheers Microsoft!

      • kingcrusher

But stores do it all the time. 12-packs of coke 2 for $5. And that’s the only thing on sale in the entire store. They figure once you’re there, you’ll buy something else as well. Very common tactic.

        • Riddick Snipes

True but most stores don’t have the profits that Microsoft have. Y r they still so greedy is the question here .

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/James-Benn/100003242105182 James Benn

Completely different – those stores are not presenting the ‘offer’ as a ‘Christmas/New Year Sale': “Hey everyone we’re holding our Christmas Sale, 50% off our over-priced Coke!”

Honestly don’t know why you guys are such apologists – you should be holding Microsoft to a higher standard instead you’re content with dregs; and guess what that’s what they’ll keep giving you unless you demand better.

          • mcmax3000

It matters what other stores do, because he was responding to someone who was comparing it to what other stores do.

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/James-Benn/100003242105182 James Benn

And on holding them to a higher standard? I take it you’re more than happy with the status quo inspite of the overwhelming feedback here that Microsoft needs to improve? I hope they’re paying you overtime.

          • mcmax3000

I rarely vote on posts one way, or the other.

I made no comment either way on you’re point about holding them to a higher standard, nor have I made any comment, positive or negative, anywhere on this page about the quality of this particular sale.

I was simply saying that the person you were replying to made that comparison, because the person above them made the same comparison.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Liquidfx-Xboxdude/100003184837175 Liquidfx Xboxdude

i think i will skip this one.

    • JoeGrahamcracker

      Good, you suck anyway.

  • http://twitter.com/Lucky13X Lucky13X

Sounds like good offer, but sticking to guns and not buying any games over 400 MS Points even when it is 50% off regular price. I have so many holiday games this year, I can wait for a future sale.

    • chex_mix

This seems really silly. I sure hope there is more to your formula than just x game is 400 points or less so I am getting it. It just amazes me that people will miss out on awesome games like Trials Evolution (600 points in the recent daily deal) because of some arbitrary number they have that games can’t be more than. Even with a backlog don’t buy a game just because its cheap, buy them because they are cheap AND good.

  • Hugoku

    eww

  • Sanglant

totally unrelated, but Battlefield 3 Premium Edition (which obviously includes the Premium Edition DLC) is only $39.99 at Best Buy Canada for Boxing Day today. The DLC alone is 4000msp ($60) in Canada. Now, that’s a deal of the day.

    • mcmax3000

Yeah, I saw that, and considered getting it for the Premium membership (already have the game), but I haven’t played Battlefield 3 in months, so I decided to pass.

Great deal though for those up here.

      • Sanglant

that’s exactly why you should get it lol. no better reason to get back into a great game like a ton of new DLC. I’ve been busy with other games and waiting for a chance to get the BF3 DLC on sale, so I’m stoked. Halo 4 has been my game of choice lately, but even when the ranking system is added next month, I’ll be needing a break until more DLC is out.

        • mcmax3000

I would, but last time I tried to play Battlefield 3, the whole server list was a bit of a mess, with player run servers that were playing the same map over & over, or had ridiculous rules/settings, and finding a normal game of Battlefield was nearly impossible.

I think I’ll probably just wait for Battlefield 4 to get back into the series instead.

          • Sanglant

yeah, they should have made two MP sections for that, standard EA playlist servers and community servers.

  • http://twitter.com/TrashMKX Trash

HAHAHA AT ALL THE CRYBABIES!!!!!! BOO HOOO BABIES!!

    • BostonSup

Not sure if you were commenting on how that deal is good, or if you were just trying to appear “cool” (guessing you are trying to attain the high school definition of cool). Either way, it might be more helpful if you can form a logical opinion and civilly express it. Just a useful tip for when you enter the adult world.

  • ikari_paul

is CS:GO worth it? or is a bad version?

  • http://twitter.com/oAssassinXo BobLe Head

I’d say its a great deal. But sadly the console version is junk. Aside from whining theres not many technical issues with the PC version.

  • http://twitter.com/ChicoEdge Chico Edge

I have no interest in this game but I’m not going to complain. Scored some sweet deals already and if The Walking Dead sale on Friday is 50% then I’ll get the entire series for $10. That’s cheaper than it has ever been on Steam. Not a bad deal.
