Deal By Larry Hryb, Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson

  • Steve Smith

Mortal Komnat Arcade for me…also first.

    • Cory Dorsey

The fun part is playing MK Arcade without the patch first…then dl the patch and notice the difference…

  • Kenny Krush

    I’m getting them all :)

  • rhooper

MK Arcade and Dungeon Defenders are nice surprises for today’s deal… but all of them with 50% savings don’t get any different appeal from a “Deal of the Week”, as on the other days we had some discounts up to 75%.

  • kingcrusher

Dungeon Defenders is a great game. Great price on all of these!

  • Guest

    31st: Skyrim and Oblivion

    The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim: Dawnguard

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim: Hearthfire

    The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Shivering Isles

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Knights of the Nine

    • Bennijin

Dawnguard is 1200 again and Hearthfire is 320 again, thus ending the year on a whimper rather than a bang. Pathetic.

      • Steve Thompson

I just checked it and Dawnguard is down to 800 points.. but Hearthfire is still 400.

        • Curtis Isabell

          still cheaper on steam

        • BENNiJiN

          Wow, I was greatly misinformed.

  • Cory Dorsey

VF5’s price is somewhat deceptive, as to get the entire thing, you’ve got to download costume packs that almost double the size/price of the game.

    • Bennijin

Well you don’t “have” to but yeah those costume packs are ridiculous.

And yet DOA5 and every Capcom game still manage to make them look good.

  • chris

not really interested in todays deal, wish there was dome dlc or Game on Demand discounts for today. I was thinking maybe wwe 13 fan axxess could be on sale but i think it is the wrong type of fighting game for this day

  • John Smith

    i am disappoint

    • Dr4gOnsFuRy

Then you have no taste in good games.

      • Nitramuse

You do know this dude is commenting with “i am disappoint” or “i am not disappoint” for every deal the last couple of days?
And about that taste you speak of, it is subjective.

        • Dr4gOnsFuRy

Yes and that is why I wrote that, he doesn’t seem to like anything at all with all his disappointment.

          • Curtis Isabell

the best game on this list was free with PSN+, in fact iirc it’s still free with PSN+.

      • Miller

I didn’t know you could taste your games. Is that 5D or something?

        • Dr4gOnsFuRy

I guess English is not your first language.

          • Superman64

Said the guy who spells dragon with a 4.

          • Dr4gOnsFuRy

Oh wow, great logic you have there. On that basis your name shouldn’t be Superman, nor should it have numbers in it.

          • Superman64

Well first of all…it doesn’t matter how i spelled my name. You’re the one who got on someone else’s case about English not being their first language. Secondly…my name is actually something. You used 4 as a letter…but it’s not a letter…it’s a number.

          • Dr4gOnsFuRy

You’re right and that’s the point I was making with my sarcastic comment. It doesn’t matter how you spelled your name and it doesn’t matter how I spelled my name because that’s all it is, a name, it has nothing to do with the English language nor does it have any relevance to what my original comment was about. Secondly my name is a game but I guess you didn’t know that, lastly “A” was already taken hence the “4”. Being stupid is your own opinion and I couldn’t care less.

If someone has never heard of the phrase “taste” then that’s not my problem but for them to make a stupid comment about a phrase they’ve never heard of, trying to make me look stupid, well then that’s just silly.

          • Superman64

Wow…you completely didn’t understand what I said at all. Perhaps English is not your first language.

        • Nitramuse

Yes, tasting is wildly known as the fifth dimension.
Starting next month, you can taste what happens on screen.

  • H0RIZ0N

Wish Skull girls was on the list.

  • Dr4gOnsFuRy

:( Only just bought Dungeon Defenders the other day, never saw it on the upcoming list but really wanted it. Great game though.

  • Manuel I. Bueno

I’m playing the Demo at the moment, for Dungeon Defenders, and it’s pretty descent. But I need to play it during the day to try it with other people before I make my final choice. I’m just waiting for the Skyrim DLC.

  • Russell Gorall

Fighting games are like gaming’s slow little friend.

    • Bennijin

      You can relate.

      • Russell Gorall

  • m1nh0ca

Virtua Fighter 5 is a “must have” for every 3D fighting fans.
Maybe I’ll consider Dungeon Defenders. The demo didn’t attract me so much, but I feel a good potential.

  • Liquidfx Xboxdude

ok. i don’t really play fighting games anymore but why is wolverine’s picture on the front of the #2 countdown deal on Xbox Dashboard? is he in street fight 3 or vf5?

  • Hugoku

Good deal. Wished the VF packs were on sale too.

  • Volitar Prime

I purchased VF5 but I refuse to spend that much on the costume packs. The only way will buy them is if they eventually go on sale too.

  • John Gregory

One of these games should have been 75% off

    • Bennijin

      One? Try all.

  • Alice Lockhart

Where is Guily Gear XX Accent Core Plus!? D=<.

  • Stank Beard

No love for NEOGEO Battle Coliseum? Two of these aren’t even fighting games.

  • TheRequiem95

I am big time on the fence for Virtua Fighter. I know it’s great but I just don’t know if I’ll have enough time to commit to it.

  • Curtis Isabell

virtua fighter 5 and dungeon defenders were both free with PSN+ membership within the last 6 months. no way i’d spend $15 on something I got free with the other service.

    • ryder4life22187

Define free on PSN+ did they actually go here you go here are two downloads yours to keep or i bet it was another here is two rental downloads.

      • z3razerviper

Keep in mind ALL Digital downloads with drm are rentals.

      • Curtis Isabell

as long as you are a plus member you can play them as much as you want. people can call it rentals, but face it, on xbox you pay $60 a year just to play online, on PSN+ you spend $50 a year, and you get games every month for free. Yea, if you quit paying you cannot play, but if you quit paying on xbox you can’t play online.

I rather pay $50 a year and get access to $300 worth of games then pay $60 a year and get absolutely nothing.

    • Crown_Lager

I always find it interesting that whenever someone mentions PSN+ deals, there’s always someone replying trying to downplay it.

Perhaps an unconscious need to try and justify paying for peer-to-peer play? It (LIVE Gold) really is indefensible at the end of the day.

Don’t even get me started on the ad-soaked dash. Read Penny Arcade’s, “Ads up, games down: The ugly, profitable details about Xbox Live advertising”, to get an idea of the kind of money Microsoft is making on that every day.

      • Tylerh1701

Interesting article, thanks for the recommendation.

And yes, every time someone posts “this was free on PS+” someone else is right there to chime in with “it’s not really free, it’s a glorified rental” as if there making some revolutionary statement. Except it’s not because everybody knows how PS+ works by now.

  • オミナエ イサム

    VERY disappointed.

ALL games was discounted this year.

Why not put a new deal?

  • Bennijin

Seen it all before and at the same prices. Yawn.

  • Tiso Spencer

I guess we tend to forget that Plus also comes loaded with features that make not re-subscribing less likely, I.E. discounts/cloud saving/automatic game&save updates.

  • Curtis Isabell

    PSN+ gets
    it’s cheaper
    Free games
    1 hour full game trials
    cloud saves.

    Xbox live gold gets.
…. you can play online? ( but thats free everywhere else)
you get party chat… ok something
you get to use apps that are free on other systems….
    costs $60 a year, unless you get a sale…
you get to see a bunch of advertisements on the dashboard.

Yea, PSN+ is better then xbox gold, there is no denying it, MS needs to change before they lose their market, if with nextbox they announce silver members will be able to play online and use party chat and stuff, they might stand a chance

  • chiron69

I’m proud of myself! (I didn’t comment on these amazing, and non-repetetive sale. ;) Oh… I did it again! Man! :-)
