Well 3 on 3 NHL Arcade is worth the price it a fun game

      • kingcrusher

The Puzzle Quest games are all amazingly fun!

  • Fearino

Got it free on PS Plus. I think you guys need to take a look at PSN and Steam because as a customer to these 3 services, i haven’t spend a single cent on XBL holiday sales. The sales are a joke to be honest.

    • http://ronaldlocke.tumblr.com/ Ron Locke II

I bet you buy the system for exclusives.. Halo, gears, etc.. As far as I got I spent more then I wanted this year on holiday deals what will last me a while.. On steam nothing.. Ps3 I can only see PS3 plus members get free games till you run out of membership and they take the game away if u don’t pay.. Stinks to be you when that happens.. I am happy to have a discount and permit on my account..

      • Fearino

Not really. I bought skyrim, Farcry 3, Hitman Absolution and a fair share of other 3rd party titles on X360 too. It’s true the games will be unavailable once PS Plus subscription is over but currently i feel i am being treated like a valued customer and i will continue to pay for it.

      • http://twitter.com/jimpower64 James Howard

Yes unfortunately you can’t play the games once your membership runs out but as long as you don’t delete the games from your PS3 then you’re fine. You can renew your subscription and the games will be playable again. :)

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Curtis-Isabell/1036013363 Curtis Isabell

and when you don’t pay for gold membership you can’t play online in any game… wow it sucks to be you. also, why would you stop paying for a service that gives you free games every month, discounts on many games, and early access to betas.

        • http://ronaldlocke.tumblr.com/ Ron Locke II

I don’t normally pay for it to use Xbox live anyways, I pay for it for the discount and apps mostly and a few other rights the card gives me.. I just feel that ps3 has it backwards that’s all.. By removing the game from the account and not allowing you to use it.. It’s like someone who says you can borrow my game but pay a fee for it.. It’s just backward logic anyways.. If u want to say one thing is better then I am out.. Ether way we both have a service we love and we both have flaws we hate.. Somedays we get deals we don’t like that doesn’t say “go to ps3 or go to steam” I have steam for humble bundles and a few other things.. I don’t have a ps3 because I already invested so much in to xbox360 I can’t go back now unless I feel like forking over a truck load of money.. Good luck with that.. Maybe someday but I hear Xbox is getting bluray in the future so maybe not..

          • Beater Blocker

Everybody who goes on about PS Plus and trotting out the stock ‘you don’t own the games they give you and lose ‘em when you stop paying’ line … is that really the best you can come up with?

When I’ve finished with a game I don’t really want to play it again and trade it in towards something new, likewise when I’m done with a game I’ve downloaded, I’ll uninstall it. Sounds like you’re all a bunch of chronic hoarders who will most likely have stacks of old newspapers and tubs of your own urine stashed away in your garage. Way too many new games out there to want to hold onto the old ones you’ve played imo … life is just too short

So to compare two services where you either have a pay a fee to play the games you own online or another one where you pay a fee to get a constant stream of games for nothing (that I would’ve got shot of anyway once I’d played them) then clearly the service with the plentiful free games is the better deal.

If you want to kid yourself that you only pay gold to access the *cough* ‘great deals’ and have access to the selection of apps (which I already have numerous devices hooked up to my TV that do the job far better with zero ads plastered on them OR a laggy-ass dashboard to contend with) then you’ve clearly got rocks in your head

And before you start calling me a fanboy I don’t own a PS3 or have any intention of getting one but a toss up between free games or a bunch of wack apps / online connectivity (that should be free anyway) then it’s a no brainer!

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/Curtis-Isabell/1036013363 Curtis Isabell

you forget most the apps the 360 gets are also on ps3, and you don’t need PSN+ to use them also the netflix app is better on ps3 ( 1080p instead of 720p, and it is much faster)

          • kingcrusher

100% agree with you on the netflix comment! I use my PS3 as my primary netflix viewer, simply because I HATE the menu system for the 360. What exactly were they thinking?

          • kingcrusher

I guess if we all had disposable dollars like you, we’d be ok with it. Most of us in the “real world” enjoy our purchases and often times revisit our games when we’re done. To compare them to newspapers is completely absurd, unless they have controllable newspapers where we can help depict the outcome.
The argument that the PSN makes your “free” games unplayable if you’re not a member anymore is a valid point. And there are tons of “old” games I still play regularly. Hmmm, that reminds me, I need to go play Armada on my Dreamcast!

          • Beater Blocker

I wasn’t comparing them to newspapers at all .. I was more mocking the hoarder mentality (people who keep every single thing they have bought irrespective of whether it’ll be used again ;)
You pretty much just agreed with my comment though you probably don’t realise it. If times are that frugal it makes a lot more sense to pay a sub that will net you 30+ games a year at no extra cost over a more expensive one that gives you none. How anybody could even say this is a bad deal is beyond me but I guess you’re all trying to justify your gold subs purchase in some way. I don’t know what the prices are like Stateside but over here in the UK you could probably pick up ANY title over a few years old for the same price as a Subway foot long if you could be bothered to shop around. I even picked up a brand new copy of ‘Stuntman Ignition’ for 29 pence …. that’s less than a can of Coke. Games don’t hold their value at all so for me at least it makes a lot more sense to get rid of the older games while they have value and stick them towards the price of a new game … that’s just being sensible as it would’ve just sat on my shelf untouched otherwise.
Times can’t be that hard for you as you somehow still manage to pay your gold subs ….
            I also have a Dreamcast …. good times :)

          • kingcrusher

Not sure where you see the agreement. Bottom line is that when I buy a game, I want it to be mine and I do indeed keep my games (I don’t trade them in). But, the games I do buy, are games that I want to keep. I enjoy my collection from a long string of systems (from the Atari 2600 on up). Certainly not hoarding, but rather my hobby. Which is why I really don’t like the downloadable model for gaming. They are too volatile when it comes to “ownership” and can be revoked whenever they (the company) feels.
As for the payment of whatever, it’s kind of a silly topic. for thirty five dollars a year, I enjoy the XBox live service (definitely shop around, as you can always find it cheaper than the SRP).
The Dreamcast was certainly a fantastic and underrated system. Sega should have taken MS’s offer to buy them out when they had the chance! Instead of XBox, we could be playing the Dreamcast 3D lol

          • Beater Blocker

Think I zoned in on your ‘disposable dollars’ comment and somehow took that as a value for money comparison of the two services?!?! (I’ve had a beer or two today)

I know exactly what you’re saying and am in total agreement with you regarding an exclusively downloadable model but I’m more from the angle of being able to trade in games I’ve finished with so my next batch of incoming games are a lot cheaper. I still have a pretty large collection on my shelf but not all of them are keepers so I’m pretty ruthless at getting rid of games that are a spent experience for me. It’s the same with films really … sometimes you really enjoy a film but you know full well you’ll never watch it again. I’d say that collectors like you are in a minority as most people I know tend to get shut of games once they’ve finished with them.

Technically with the PSN+ you’re not actually buying any of the games which is what everybody here keeps harping on about. But rather than concentrating on that as a negative (which it really isn’t) it should be looked upon as getting the opportunity to test drive a bunch of games you probably wouldn’t have bought otherwise. If any of the games you’ve been given surprise you by turning out to be something you’d want to play over and over and at the same time you decide you want to relinquish your subs for PS+ (though I don’t see why you would to be fair if they’re constantly giving you free games) then you can just go out and buy a physical copy knowing full well that it’s a keeper. If not, you’ve at least ticked another game played off your list, gleaned any trophies / achievements you might want to unlock and can then move onto the next game in your queue. Again, I really don’t understand why people are moaning about this service …. free games dagnabbit?!?!?

I always regret not taking the Dreamcast onine :(

        • kingcrusher

Your (repeated) argument of how when XBox live is over you can’t play online baffles me. Apples and Oranges here. On PSN your membership goes down you CAN NOT play your “free” games anymore. When XBox Live goes down, you just cannot play ONLINE. Two different things there. One you’re losing the ability to play your game completely, and the other you’re just losing the ability to play the game online. So let’s rework your argument a little, please, because on the scale of relativity, you’re scratching the bottom with that constant comment.

      • http://twitter.com/damashedavenger kit walker

i have no idea what u just said…

    • ryder4life22187

Or you can just do what i do, i use bing for MSP rewards and haven’t spent a single cent on arcade,GonD or DLC in over a year.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Curtis-Isabell/1036013363 Curtis Isabell

$5 worth of points every 2 months is awesome right?

  • http://ronaldlocke.tumblr.com/ Ron Locke II

With this being $10.00 instead of 15.00 that is a great deal for a retro game.. Thanks for the price cut!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Curtis-Isabell/1036013363 Curtis Isabell

well, PSN+ members got it free, and it came a few days ago, price cut is hardly what i would call this.

      • http://www.facebook.com/paulmikeybarker Paul Barker

But it’s not really free on PSN+ is it.
Don’t renew your membership or let it lapse and you loose your games

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bush-O-Connor/555604190 Bush O Connor

thats still good tho psn+ is only 40 euro a year, thats 20 euro cheaper than xbox gold.

even if its just a rental service you cannot go wrong for 40blips a year, even the launch vita games are on plus now.

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Curtis-Isabell/1036013363 Curtis Isabell

but when you run out of gold you can’t do anything online, which is worse. you see, if you like the game enough you can always just buy it, all the games you bought you can still play online unlike xbox you can go spend $60 on a game but wait, you gotta spend another $60 to play online for a year. ps3 you can go spend $60 for a game, or you can spend $50 and have a all the free games for a year, you end up saving money.

in the last 6 or so months, little big planet 2, infamous 2, just cause 2, bioshock 2 ( wow look at all the 2′s ) have all been free ( there have been a lot more games btw) retail it would have been something like $40 in total, if I was lucky, so I almost paid for my membership with 6 of the 12 months. oh and can’t forget the sales and the other free games I didn’t mention, like retro city rampage for free.

AND if you happen to have a vita they get stuff too! I don’t have one, but with like 8 free vita games it’s looking like a better and better deal, I haven’t bought a retail game on ps3 in years because I just keep busy with the free games. meanwhile on xbox, I still only use it for party chat, and probably won’t be getting their next console.

          • kingcrusher

Vita only gets free stuff because the three people that own it would take their system back to wal-mart if they don’t! :-P
J/K you make some good points, though it’s a trade off. Both obviously have their good points. I prefer a consistent network that actually works and has some speed to it. MS provides that.
As for the Vita, I would love to own one, but Sony had to go make their proprietary memory cards (SD card) that I can get for $20 and they are charging $100 for it. That is the single reason why I refuse to buy the handheld. When that changes, I might end up getting one.

        • http://twitter.com/McStorm_ Jason

But at least you get an offering for your subscription fee, what do M$ offer you, NOTHING!.

          • kingcrusher

An update every other time you turn on your system? Downloads that take 1/2 hour for what should take 5 minutes? Unstructured online that varies in confusion from game to game?
I’m not knocking the PS3, I have one and enjoy it. But to say that the PS3 online is better than XBox’s is brain dead. I’ll gladly pay yearly for an online experience I can actually count on.

  • http://www.facebook.com/dragon114 Connor Olin

got it for steam. it’s a must buy.

  • Russell Gorall

    Looks like a must ignore.

    • Lee Rayson

you mean like how people ignore you and your troll comments ?

  • http://twitter.com/lightsup55 Timothy Leucht

Doritos Crash Course DLC as well:
    - Doritos Crash Course City Lights (Trial) – FREE
    - Doritos Crash Course City Lights -160 Microsoft Points

    • Lee Rayson

      It actually not bad DLC

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Curtis-Isabell/1036013363 Curtis Isabell

the DLC is like twice the size of the original game, if you like it $2 isn’t bad for it.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Curtis-Isabell/1036013363 Curtis Isabell

by that logic, everything on xbox has an extra charge on it since if you aren’t gold member you can’t do anything online… also lol when sony goes down, don’t forget the ps3 has sold more then 360.

  • chris

Its about time for a deal of week and recent release post right major?

  • http://twitter.com/ENich1 E.Nich

Looks like a 240MSP indie game. I don’t understand why it’s priced so high.

    • ungeheier

Because indie games aren’t funny or something? I’m with you 100%

    • http://ronaldlocke.tumblr.com/ Ron Locke II

They allow the developer to price it the way they like, so the developer can have the most for there buck.. Talk to developer before you point prices at Microsoft..

      • http://twitter.com/ENich1 E.Nich

I don’t point prices to no one, just giving my opinion.

    • http://twitter.com/NAVARiN BENNiJiN

Looking like an XBLIG and being an XBLIG are entirely different things. There’s a reason that channel is just another thing to skip over…

  • Z4M0

It took ages to see the light! glad to see it priced right… now I just have to wait till it gets discounted, otherwise I’ll be wasting a feature I’m supposed to get for being gold. Hope this year’s DoTW will be worth being gold.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bush-O-Connor/555604190 Bush O Connor

i thought this was Rampage, the monsters on the buildings game :(

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bush-O-Connor/555604190 Bush O Connor

i’ve bought over 5 xbox’s alone in the last few years, (thats just me) not including my brothers thats 5 sales for 1 person.

i still have the same ps3 i bought 3 years ago.

i refuse to believe the sales that xbox are gloating about, ive fixed hundreds of 360′s and everyone i know has bought more than 2. all in all i would say the ps3 has a bigger player base, the xbox has sold more but to the same people.

  • http://twitter.com/Ganon255 Ganon255

having a blast, this game is aimed at those who grew up on NES games and still play games today

  • http://twitter.com/NAVARiN BENNiJiN

Was gonna have a pop at it coming out after it’s not only been on PSN USA for ages but also just been on sale, but it’s actually been priced appropriately after taking that into account. Not bad.

  • kingcrusher

This is a definite $5 game, not $10. It’s kind of cool, but is also very spazzy. I think the developers had ADHD REALLY bad. It’s an interesting game, but I’ll wait for DOTW or a straight drop in price. I’m sure many will find plenty to enjoy, and for them, I say “Awesome for you!” :-)

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Curtis-Isabell/1036013363 Curtis Isabell

jason, actually it has, and when you factor in all the broken xbox’s you see the ps3 outsold 360 years ago. oh and that $150billion is in yen you moron, thats like $6billion USD and your logic is terrible. you realize gaming sales as a whole have been down something like 20% right?

oh yea, the reason it looks so bad, is they didn’t get a tax right off that has been in their books as an asset for years, but please, continue to tell me sony is going out of buisness, if anything they will stop with some of their other stuff, like TVs, the PS3 division of sony is very profitable for the company.

    • kingcrusher

So my PS3 that has gone dead and needed replacing twice doesn’t count? Lots of people had the same problem with the light on the front going “beep beep beep” and turning red and POOF dead system. So let’s not go down that road. Both sides have had their problems.

  • Russell Gorall

Sometimes I really wonder if you love me.

    • Superman64

I think you do more than wonder…I bet you hope I do since no one loves you in the first place.

  • Russell Gorall

If you have Playstation Plus, you can play this for free.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bush-O-Connor/555604190 Bush O Connor

i tried it this morning, and bought it. its the first time ive spent mocrosoft points since last june.

great little retro game it has all the classics rolled into 1
