Xbox 360 TOMB RAIDER Limited Edition Wireless Controller + how to win one

Today we are announcing the Xbox 360 TOMB RAIDER Limited Edition Wireless Controller. I did a quick video (above) that shows a few of the features and laser etched details. I also posted more photos on my Flickr page as well.  The controller will be priced at US $59.99 (MSRP, check your local retailer for pricing) and be available world-wide when the game launches in March. Here is the official press release:

Experience Lara Croft’s First Adventure with the Xbox 360 TOMB RAIDERLimited Edition Wireless Controller

At the 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas today, Microsoft, Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix unveiled the Xbox 360 TOMB RAIDERLimited Edition Wireless Controller – the perfect commemorative companion marking Lara Croft’s return to the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

Developed in collaboration with artists at Crystal Dynamics, the design of the controller features a two-layer color finish with laser etching to create a realistic and tactile worn appearance inspired by Lara’s iconic climbing axe and the tourniquets that result from the adventure in her intense origin story, as told in this latest title. The controller also features a customizable D-pad that switches from a “plus” design to a “disc” pattern for better control, and a wireless range of up to 30-feet that allows for more freedom in your home environment as you explore and play the game.

In addition, those who purchase the Xbox 360 TOMB RAIDER Limited Edition Wireless Controller will receive a download token for an Xbox 360 exclusive playable TOMB RAIDER character. The controller will be available timed to the launch of the game worldwide and is priced at $59.99 (U.S. ERP).

My favorite Tomb Raider game is the first one cause it was something new in the adventure games, I loved playing it on PC and PlayStation, it’s also the second game I played on PlayStation !

  • WorldofShadows

Favourite Tomb Raider is the 1st one featuring Lara Croft. Why? It was something really new, a female hero,3D, good storyline, beautiful levels and because the whole mystery around Atlantis, Qualopec, Tihocan and Natla was really something. And because the shocking creatues, like the flesh mummies/mutants with the horrifying screams for a young one like me those days.

Really enjoyed the Anniversary Remake, too.

Would be really nice to have this, as the new Tomb Raider seems to bring a fresh taste to the franchise.

The guardian of light was so much fun!

    I’m voting for TR3 although it’s always been a toss-up for me for 3 or 5

I love all the locations – she literally travels all around the world in this one, the locations are beautiful, and I loved choosing which place you wanted to go next. Of course all of the vehicles were fantastic – this is by far the best game for vehicles. The music was simply amazing and the plot was great as well.

  • WhiteFoxSG

I spent the most time playing the second Tomb Raider. It kept me on edge for hours and would literally make me jump when something unexpected would happen.

My favorite is the original, one of the first third person shooter games.

  • Christopher Rhodes

first one, just loved the game play

  • http://twitter.com/martinbates76 Martin bates

the 1st one was best. A true graphical milestone.

  • http://twitter.com/kratomike michael bilenki

My favorite tomb raider is the first because it’s the fist one of the series and it’s the one that got me hooked.

  • http://twitter.com/RealScottyB1 Scott Brown

Tomb Raider underworld, Smashing Zombies, and the ‘Bike Run’ was great fun! Also in lara’s shadow being able to climb walls etc

  • http://twitter.com/Dschnoeb Drew Schnoebelen

The first one was probably the best one, because it set up the series and really launched the brand, although Guardian of Light was fantastic for co-op.

  • http://www.facebook.com/jeremy.west.1401 Jeremy West

My favorite is Guardian of Light. It was a fun XBLA title, and it has made me more interested in this re-boot.

(Im not sure if my Comment made it or not but Im just going to post again)

I love the first Tomb Raider because as a kid I found it to be kind of funny as a kid to lock the butler in the freezer haha

The first one, just because it was really fun to play :-)

I loved the first Tomb Raider because of its originality. Laura was one of the first female lead characters. It revolutionized the industry and became the guide line of third person adventure/shooters at the time.

I have a nostalgic soft spot for the original Tomb Raider, but who knows how it’ll play today. The feeling was Uncharted before Uncharted.
Anniversary and Guardian of Light are pretty good

  • dabby91

Definately Tomb Raider I, the first true adventure game! :D

  • http://twitter.com/capnjunkie Cap N. Junkie

I have never played a Tomb Raider game but I am excited by this one!

  • http://twitter.com/blackwarrior blackwarrior

My favorite TR was the first one because I tried so hard to find this f*cking “nude cheatcode” ^^

    Thanks.

  • Mathew

Gotta go with the first Tomb Raider. It was my first real romp in a 3D adventure environment… plus that showdown with the T-Rex pretty much make me jump out of my trousers!

  • Charles Babb

My favorite Tomb Raider game is “Tomb Raider: Underworld” because of the good story and the puzzles!

  • http://twitter.com/cryfordawn cryfordawn

Definitely Tomb Raider Legend. After being
thrilled with the first few games and less so with every passing title after 2, Legend
really made things exciting again and brought Lara into the current gen. Was the
first 360 game where I unlocked everything and got every achievement.

  • http://www.facebook.com/Killazilla Kevin O’Neil

Favorite is probably the first just because of its impact on the industry as a whole.

  • http://twitter.com/THEPA1NE Francis Rivard

the first one because it was the best adventure game.

  • http://www.benway.net JasonB

The first tomb raider. I remember playing it with my college room mates. We’d take turns getting through a tough level until we finished the game. Lots of long nights playing through.

  • http://www.facebook.com/frederick.gholston Frederick G. Gholston

Guardian of light. For the new moves, content, and co-op.

  • http://twitter.com/Zoniax Chris Moran

Honestly, my favorite Tomb Raider is the first one I ever played, Guardian of Light. Simple, yet engaging. And it really got me interested in the reboot that’s coming out soon. I think it’ll be a great new entry. Twitter tag: zoniax.

I would say that my favorite game in the series would have to be “The Last Revelation”.

I think this game would have to the predecessor that would lead to other awesome first person games such as Far Cry. However, bad some reviews may have been on this game…I thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn’t mind the jumping puzzles and lever pulling and the slow development of the multiple story lines. It was kind of cool to play through levels as Lara matured. This was also my first experience playing a “Tomb Raider” game and I had been always wanting to do so. I would have to admit after playing the newer adventure games and understanding and enjoying how far technology has come with the improvement to gaming engines, the “blockiness”, if that is a word and the intermittent crashing left a little bit to be desired. All in all this was a great game and it challenged me with the concept of in game puzzles like I had never been challenged before and that led to anticipation of this in other games. I am excited to see Lara in her new pixelated grandeur! I am anxiously waiting as well for the maps and how the environment has been improved and developed in the new Crossroads game. I would love to have this new controller!

The Second Tomb Raider is the best. It has anything you want riddlescool enemys great story and a great end.

  • frames

My favourite game of the series is Tomb Raider 2, because it was the first game I’ve ever played :)

  • Johnny

My favorite Tomb Raider would have to be Tomb Raider 2. That was my first time playing an action/puzzle game and I remember trying multiple times to time my jumps to avoid a quick death.

  • http://twitter.com/spikitup Tyler Norton

My favorite looks to be the one coming up. The graphics look awesome in addition to the story line.

  • http://twitter.com/Outlander0 Robert

I have to say my Favorite tomb Raider game would be the 3ed one… it was the first one I was able to play, and at the time I loved how you could run around Lara’s home to train your skills or just play the missions. it was the first game I knew that you could just play around on and it was the first time I saw her in other outfits as well.

  • http://twitter.com/kr4yz13 Joshua Cruz

Tomb Raider 1 was the best by far. The atmosphere was perfect and the spikes and rolling boulders weren’t used in excess like 2 and 3, so you weren’t ready for them.

  • Jacob McCollister

I love Underworld, but honestly, with everything I’ve heard, I fully expect the new one to be my favorite. I can’t wait to see what they do with the re-imagined Lara.

  • http://twitter.com/MMOSprinks Sprinks

Tomb Raider: Legend. Brilliant controls for Laura and lots of replay value in the unlocks.

  • http://twitter.com/ewong247 Elliot Wong

My favorite Tomb Raider is Tomb Raider: Legend since not only is it the first one released on Xbox 360, it was BLAST to play. The puzzles weren’t convoluted like Angel of Darkness, and the new gadgets felt like a welcome addition to gameplay. None of the subsequent releases seemed to capture the fun, simple platforming that made Legend have such great replay value. I played through the story eight times I think (1st on PS2, then on Xbox 360 to get all the achievements, then again on 360 to get my brother some achievements!)

  • http://gamingcuts.com psdeuce

The Guardian of Light. I love the top-down perspective and puzzle solving mechanics.

  • http://twitter.com/Dustin_Calvert Dustin Calvert

The original Tomb Raider, because of the amazing level design

  • http://twitter.com/TiM1E10 Tim Rowen Warren

My favourite Tomb Raiders got to be Underworld, not seen has a great TR but in my opinion the opening mission was pretty epic and set a great tone.

  • http://twitter.com/clar8299 Matthew Clark

The original for the PS1 because it’s the only one that I’ve played. I do need a new xbox 360 controller though.

  • http://twitter.com/zyliss3 Mark Arellano

The original Tomb Raider will always be my favorite in the series. You have to remember that back then the only real female hero we had was Samus from Metroid and since then there was hardly any female heroes up until Lara Croft. It was just the next evolution of strong female heroes in video games that didn’t need a man to save them from a castle.

  • http://www.facebook.com/KarmaKrazy412 Jonathan Cheek

The favorite for me by far has to be the first Tomb Raider, that was the game for me that proved that we were in the “future of gaming” The puzzle solving, and adventure in that game was some of the best even to this day.

  • Shawn Bunting

Has to be the first one, the one that started it all!
