Xbox 360 TOMB RAIDER Limited Edition Wireless Controller + how to win one

Today we are announcing the Xbox 360 TOMB RAIDER Limited Edition Wireless Controller. I did a quick video (above) that shows a few of the features and laser etched details. I also posted more photos on my Flickr page as well.  The controller will be priced at US $59.99 (MSRP, check your local retailer for pricing) and be available world-wide when the game launches in March. Here is the official press release:

Experience Lara Croft’s First Adventure with the Xbox 360 TOMB RAIDERLimited Edition Wireless Controller

At the 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas today, Microsoft, Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix unveiled the Xbox 360 TOMB RAIDERLimited Edition Wireless Controller – the perfect commemorative companion marking Lara Croft’s return to the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

Developed in collaboration with artists at Crystal Dynamics, the design of the controller features a two-layer color finish with laser etching to create a realistic and tactile worn appearance inspired by Lara’s iconic climbing axe and the tourniquets that result from the adventure in her intense origin story, as told in this latest title. The controller also features a customizable D-pad that switches from a “plus” design to a “disc” pattern for better control, and a wireless range of up to 30-feet that allows for more freedom in your home environment as you explore and play the game.

In addition, those who purchase the Xbox 360 TOMB RAIDER Limited Edition Wireless Controller will receive a download token for an Xbox 360 exclusive playable TOMB RAIDER character. The controller will be available timed to the launch of the game worldwide and is priced at $59.99 (U.S. ERP).

Guardian of Light, the Co-op was very fun to play with my friend that lived out of state.

Guardian of light!! I was able to play co op and that made the game more fun.

My favourite Tombraider game is the Original PC version. It made me buy my first 3D capable card, a Matrox Mystique so I could see it in “hi-res”. You had to use specially built EXEs for each type of supported cards, like the Voodoo series as it was a DOS game.

The anniversary remake changed too many things, like the T-Rex for my taste.

The first Tomb Raider because of memories playing with my aunt

Guardian of Light. it was a fun simple way, and the multiplayer added a very nice plus!

Playing Tomb Raider 2 on Playstation 1. Loved locking up the butler in the house. Called him Jeeeves

  • http://twitter.com/karlcramer Karl Cramer

The original Tomb Raider. It was one of my first experiences with a 3D polygon game.

  • DJ Mantis

By far the first Tomb Raider is my favorite. Although quite antiquated now it paved the way for the non-side scrolling action adventure games that came after.

The original tomb raider. I can still remember playing it on the playstation like it was yesterday.

  • AshNG

Tomb Raider 2 (1997), first level [The Great Wall] those Tigers are just too scary — together with the sounds and the bitmappy graphics creates a very unnerving feeling!

my favorite tomb raider game is tomb raider legend, the pacing was great and the story was pretty good. @rjgspider

    Guardian of Light!

I’ll add my vote for Guardian of Light. Great game.

  • BlinkFandango

Definitely Guardian of Light, one of the few games my wife enjoys (she plays as Lara).

Tomb Raider III. It was the first game I played through with my dad when I was four years old and the story is incredible. – And Miss Leigh is delightfully terrifying!

The first one. Because without a start where would we be at. This one looks really good though so it will probably take the number one spot

Tomb Raider 1. The original, still one of the greatest games of all time.

  • http://www.facebook.com/iSt0ked Matthew Dean Stokes

My favorite Tomb Raider game will always be Tomb Raider 2. There’s just something about the diversity of the levels, the weapons, the enemies, just everything. It’s such a nostalgic experience playing through it again every now and then. I thought it would always remain my top TR game, but this reboot hasn’t even come out yet and I’m already drooling over it. Been a hardcore fan since the 90s and never stopped supporting the franchise. :)

    Original ,1st Tomb Rider…because …..simple ……is amazing

Tomb Legend & also Guardian of light was awesome.

  • http://twitter.com/thejackmanshow Bradley Jackman

The original Tomb Raider will always be my favorite. I remember getting my first computer and having to go to a special store to find games. This was one of the newest games out, the graphics and gameplay were cutting edge. Loved it.

My favorite Tomb Raider video game was the first one, all the puzzles were fun and challenging!

  • http://twitter.com/jXd1689 Jason Delgado

The original,… nothing can beat the OG!

  • Virtuous Lumox

Tomb Raider: Legend on PS2 was the best. I loved the urban levels and new gameplay features. I still want it on 360 for the achievements, but it controlled better on PS2.

  • http://twitter.com/Hauz20 Gabriel House

The very first one, actually. It was a new experience to play as a female protagonist, although she was blatantly over sexualized.

  • http://twitter.com/kyleisnotarobot KYLΞ

Tomb Raider 3. It was the first Tomb Raider game that I played (I was 5) and 14 years later I’m still obsessed with it. The levels are so creative and diverse and it’s just an incredibly awesome game. I have such awesome memories of playing it with my dad when I was younger, and the game ultimately is the reason that I have had so much fun over the last 14 years. If it wasn’t for my Dad buying randomly buying a demo disc of TR3, my life would be totally different!

  • mikehasabat

    Guardian of Light…great coop!

  • http://twitter.com/Kehriah James B

The first Tomb Raider was my favorite because of the 3d environments and awesome graphics (for the time).

  • http://twitter.com/JohnnyFlash71 Jerry Bennett

Tomb Raider: Underworld … It brought me back to playing Tomb Raider games.

  • http://twitter.com/ridekorn Dom Cordaro

The original. i was one of my favorite games for so long that it has that nostalgic factor for me

  • http://twitter.com/mando6599 Matt S.

Guardian of Light for the co-op play

  • http://www.facebook.com/Delushs1 Christopher DeLuca

The first one for sure! It was the first time that I played as a female, which was novel at the time but didn’t seem weird. I being a male gamer and not one for stereotypes did like the power Lara had as a game character and she was pleasant to look at for hours at-a-time while figuring out all the puzzles! lol Really, she and the game set the bar for 3rd person/action/puzzle/platforming games…One of the games that kept me playing PSOne so long and it’s been long enough to see the franchise rebooted in the ‘right’ direction and on Xbox 360(the best system!).
Can’t wait to play the new game, and in advance…Great job to Crystal Dynamics for having the courage to do what was necessary to revitalize interest in the troubled franchise! Thanks!

I’d have to go with Tomb Raider: Legend. Besides Guardian of Light, I believe it was the last good TR game. Sure, it may not have been too challenging, but I didn’t have as much fun with a Tomb Raider game since the original, and that really means something to me.

  • http://twitter.com/JamieThorburn Jamie Thorburn

The first Tomb Raider. Brings back so much nostalgia. Awesome game.

  • David Hughes

I like the first Tomb Raider game… why because it is what started me off on my journey with Lara Croft…

  • http://twitter.com/comicactionfigs Chris Muller

I loved the guardians of light. Amazing story and loved that it was downloadable.

  • http://twitter.com/marounskii Evan Maroun

Guardians of Light, Purely because of the Co-op and nicely designed levels. Great fun :)

  • http://twitter.com/JeanBoMonster Bojan Magazin

Tomb Raider 4 is my favorite because it represents what TR is all about – exploration, puzzles, combat and interesting story with lots of history.

  • http://twitter.com/NORMLStereotype Chris Hanley

    The original

  • http://www.facebook.com/Ron88keys Ron Murphy

The original Tomb Raider. That t-rex fight was insane the very first time I played it!

I love tombraider with its single player focus on exploration, me against the environment.

  • http://www.facebook.com/josh.sturtevant Josh Sturtevant

Guardian of Light (Only Tomb Raider I have actually played) Though I got to say the new one is spiking my interest

  • http://www.bakalair.com/ Stephen Smith

The first Tomb Raider because it was one of the first PlayStation games I ever received. I had a blast playing through it.

  • http://twitter.com/sincap2 Kevin 케빈

I really enjoyed the first Tomb Raider when it was out on the Playstation. I had not experienced an adventure game like, especially w/ a female lead character who had all sorts of moves not seen before.

  • http://twitter.com/superman2184 Chris Hull

Tomb Raider Underworld! Playing as Lara’s doppelganger was out of this world (and a little creepy)!

  • http://twitter.com/Falcon2045 Severin Lochinger

Well there are a few good incarnations in that series, as well as some bad ones. I think I’ll call the first one along with it’s “Anniversary Edition” reincarnation the best one! Eagerly waiting to play the new incarnation though… The limited controller would be awesome to play with :)
