    so… um… I woke up today and PSN sent me $10 out of the blue for being a “loyal customer” even though the last game on ps3 I bought was last year.
    what will the great and powerful microsoft get me?

          To be fair, MS has given me 120MSP on two separate occasions this year, and I’ve only owned an XBox since April. Now granted, if my math is right that’s only like $3.00 or something and that PS gift you mention is obviously much sweeter, but there are exceptions to every rule. And for the record, no, I have no idea what I did to get those bonuses.

      I too got $10 from Sony yesterday for just being a loyal customer. Used it to buy the new Assassin’s Creed 3 King George DLC. Immediately thought of the 20 whole MSP that MS sent me last month for my birthday and laughed. It’s really bewildering how MS doesn’t even try. I think they’re going to be in a for a rude awakening next gen.

        you also forgot the thing about gaikai streaming right? also i’m not getting rid of my ps3, it’s still a blue ray player, it will just be out of my room and into the living room. might canbalize the hard drive and put it in my sisters laptop too.

        PS3/PSN/PS1 games won’t be supported natively but you will be able to stream them.

      xbox720 cant compete with ps4 graphically or anything. Kinect is all xbox has and its all you want. Thanks for being a xbox fan and enjoy your kinect!

        What makes you say it can’t compete graphically? (Especially since the stuff they showed is most likely pre-rendered stuff… just like when they showed off the capabilities for PS3). On a side note – people need to ease up on being such graphics whores. If a game is good, it can be stick men for all I care.

        I love comments like this. First of all, look at the confirmed ps4 specs and the “leaked” specs of the next Xbox, they are identical, so the hardware is largely going to be the same unless MS bumps some specs up now that they know what the ps4 has for sure.

        Did you not notice that the ps4 now requires the ps eye (camera) and now has a wii-like sensor bar for the controller? So now the ps4 has a Kinect/sensor bar as well lol. Also notice how the ps4 home screen looks A LOT like Win8 Metro / Live tiles? Great originality there sony.

        MS does O/S’s and supporting software/tools and they are always better and I have no doubt it will be much cooler looking and easier to use.

      Let’s be honest, the presentation was not very convincing. Still aiming to get a custom steambox, unless Microsoft shows something that DOES look impressive in the next months.

        steam box won’t work because valve will integrate it into pc and it will flop, pc players with mouse and keyboard will have it easymode vs player on steambox. playing anything multiplayer via steambox would be suicide unless it was limited.

            yea but steambox won’t have the biggest gaming market because of it. not to mention RTS games, which on controller are much much harder.

            Yeah, RTS are harder with a controller, and yeah, Is easier to aim with the mouse but I have played for hours with the controller. I’m (really) used to it.

    These “Ultimate Ninja Storm” series are weak… I prefer Rising of a Ninja and Broken Bond over this… thing.

    My live just expired yesterday and honestly I have no urge whatsoever to renew it. I never owned any PlayStation product but after that press conference I think I’m going to be making the switch. I just don’t see Microsoft topping that conference. PS4 has some great looking new IPs, amazing graphics, amazing hardware, amazing new features, and really focuses more on games played with a traditional controller than all this motion gaming stuff. I feel like I’m getting nothing for being a gold member other than what every other platform gets for free. From lackluster “deals” to stale sequels of current IPs, I just hardly play my xbox anymore and don’t see the worthwhile investment anymore. You better blow me away at your next gen Xbox announcement or else I’m gone Microsoft.

      When it comes to the graphics – remember when the PS3 was announced and they showed off their “game graphics” which were really just pre-rendered. Besides, it is next-gen, so it will look prettier than the current gen (xbox will likely be similar). I didn’t bother watching the conference, since they’re always so boring and I can read things later, but if the exclusive IPs are good then may as well go for it. Of course, there is no law against owning both consoles – just price. Hence why I still have a PS2, but no PS3, lol.

      But yeah, paying for xbox live gold is overall stupid especially since a number of things you get with it, you can get for free elsewhere (Netflix access, youtube, etc.) I only even got my first 360 because I was able to snag one for really cheap.

        KZ2 was the only game shown for ps3 that was pre rendered, they showed actual gameplay for some of the games at this conference. we already know we will be getting PC quality graphics, which are what the demos looked like shown.

        Sure, a good portion of the graphics are likely not the real thing (heck, the entire square-enix techdemo looks suspiciously lot like the PC demo movie they released a good while ago), but what do you hope to conclude from that? That the ps4 will have bad graphics? Seems unlikely, no? :)

        We all already know that both the ps4 and the next xbox will have pretty awesome graphics. What we do know from this (together with the other oddities at the press conference) is that gamedevelopment for the ps4 is still in a VERY early stage, with developers having very little time to prepare something nice looking. I trust that Sony and Microsoft will have really neat stuff to show at E3, in an attemp to outshine each other. E3 will be pretty awesome :)

    Guess what? Perfect Dark is already available on XBLA ;) . Sure, still the original amount of polygons, but it’s in HD and supports online multiplayer.

      correction,I meant a perfect dark reboot in a cyberpunk noir setting. With over the shoulder camera for gun,mêlée,and platforming implementation. I can see it now and my what a visual it is•
