Deal By Larry Hryb, Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson

  • Aizzle

    Y u no have MvC?

    • BrianRommel

It’s not apart of the sale and wasn’t apart of the titles listed before the sale began.

    • Carlo Dela Cruz

      When’s Marvel?

    • John Doe

Because they usually have Marvel vs Capcom 2 on sale, and Marvel vs Capcom 3 is a freakin noob friendly imbalanced joke.

  • King Noyo

    Tekken Tag 2 = Sold !

  • dibils

good, no dilemmas here lol hate all these type of games

    • Carlo Dela Cruz

There is no denying you can’t play em at an actual level.

      When’s Marvel?

  • Aaron Griffin

Only 5 dollars? So what if its not the best game ever, gotta pick up MK vs DCU for that price.

    • Eric Starr

Not the best game ever, but still pretty fun.

YESH. Also is this the final day?

      • BrianRommel

yes it will end by the end of monday.

    • John Doe

Your five dollars could’ve went to something better.

  • Adam Atamian

I wanted more savings for these games..

    • BrianRommel

Sp savings between $10 and $30 aren’t enough?

      • Adam Atamian

Well I waited a week for these fighters games to finally go on sale and I was hoping for the 75 to 83% off as stated in one of the earlier posts.

        • Dragoon893

          “Up to”

          • Adam Atamian

Yeah I know it’s up too but I was hoping TTT2 and other games would be up to that percent.

          • arketiat

  • Ryan

Huge sale for fighting game fans. 10 dollars seems to be a the sweet spot.

  • Dillon Barabasz

  • Dillon Barabasz

Street fighter X Tekkan here I come!

  • GmailIsDown

    maybe i’ll finally get Kof13

  • Marty

You can’t beat AE for 10 bucks.

  • Jared Walsh

plz help me witch one to take i got 750 msp left plz help me

    • Liquidfx Xboxdude

non of them. save your points.

  • Jared Walsh

in Canada it’s 680 msp for The King of Fighters XIII and Tekken 6 and Super Streetfighter IV Arcade Edition and Street Fighter IV Mortal Kombat vs. DCU is 360 msp witch one to i take help 750 msp left i got help me plz

    • Marty

get Super Street Fighter 4 AE

    • Los Illuminados

the answer is simple. buy KOF XIII. once you play it, you’ll understand why is that. (^_^)

    • RicardoDawkins

      SSFIV AE

  • Carlo Dela Cruz

KOF, real honest fighter. Get it.

    • Jess Ragan

      All over it!

    • Scott Millar

It is only 4.99 Euros in Spain. Finally we get some great deals here at similar prices. Don’t think I want it as I’m not into Fighters, but along with Max Payne for 4.99EUR & LFD2 for 9.99EUR, I don’t have a bad taste in my mouth anymore. MS redeem themselves!

      • My Mahalo

They redeem nothing for me. This whole “sale” was targeted at one region, and one region only. They can keep it. I will happily stay away from Xbox next gen, as this is obviously a practice of theirs. I don’t understand the price difference in physical packaging, but i accept it with gritted teeth. This however, Download sale, has shed a whole new light on MS pricing. Ridiculous on every level.

  • Jess Ragan

    IT’S ABOUT TIME. Good lord.

  • Eric Starr

Hmm, $10 for Regular SF4 or the most updated version of SF4. Seems kinda funny having them at the same price like that.

    • Carlo Dela Cruz

AE for tournament practice. Vanilla for laughs.

Nothing I care about in the slightest here..

  • kingcrusher

Mortal Kombat is already (and has been for a while) $20 retail. So, bah on that one, I’ll get a disc version. But I do like the MK VS DCU for $5.

    • Eric Starr

yeah, I managed to get MK Komplete edition for $20 just before Christmas, so that’s no deal at all.

  • Cleiton Santos

Was hoping for TTT2 to be $10-15. I’ll still bite at $20 though.

    • Scott Millar

TTT2 is only 9.99 Euros in Spain. Is it any good though? I don’t like complicated fighters, always preferred pick up play and get used to fighters, like VF….

      • Cleiton Santos

It’s more complicated than VF5 for sure. But the biggest complaint people have with it is that it relies too much on combo juggling.

  • H0RIZ0N

I brought Mortal Kombat The Komplete Edition for $17 on amazon and the original price for it is $30. What kind of Ultimate deal is that?

  • Los Illuminados

    【KOF13】 The Best!!! ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ

    • GmailIsDown

just bought it. Kula is the best!!! ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ

      • PRIVADO

Benimaru thinks she will be good to go in about 10…no 5 years. :P

        • Cory Dorsey

He said that about 13 years ago (KOF 2000)

  • Chasemefu

Would Have Been Nice If They Were The Complete Editions. Not For Me

  • Charles Annunziato

totally picked up super streetfighter 4, tekken tag tourny 2 and king of fighters13, great deals, and great games, oh, i already own the other games

  • Jared Z

Guys seriously SF4 AND SSF4AE for 9.99 each? That’s not right. SSF4 should be like 1.00 or something who plays that anymore

    • Brett Burback

      you’d be suprised

  • Mario Pendleton マリオ

I got MK9 Komplete Edition for $16 on Amazon and SFxTK for $17.

    I paid $15 for AE.
I don’t regret not waiting since I didn’t know about this sale when I ordered it. XD

T6 was like $4 at Gamestop. I bet it’s more now.

TTT2 is fun for a solid month, but if you aren’t a hardcore Tekken fan don’t buy it. Personally I love Tekken. Paul is my fav.

I might get MK vs DC just because it’s $5.

I’m definitely getting KOF13 since it’s only $10. KOF was so hype at World Game Cup over the weekend.

  • Ravi Shankar

    Help me choose –

    • Michael Thomson

I have the same dillema. 19.95 aus for SF x tek or 9.95 aus for ttt2. I wanted sfxt but ttt2 leaves me with points sfxt does not.

      • Ravi Shankar

Same here. Its waste to buy both as they are just fighting games. SFxTek has both the characters. Tekken Tag as better graphics..

    • Iain Baillie

Street Fighter X Tekken is much better in my opinion.

      • Ravi Shankar

        Bought it!

  • Jake Applebaum

    Is this the last sale??

    • AshtonNextGen

Yes, they’ll all be gone tomorrow.

  • m1nh0ca

The DLC for Super Street Fighter should be on sale too, shouldn’t it?
I won’t buy the game again, as I have the disc… if the DLC was discounted like that (67%) I’d buy. Otherwise, no way.

    • Iain Baillie

AE is the DLC. Unless you’re talking about costumes.

      • m1nh0ca

Only the complete pack of Super Street Fighter IV (SSF IV + AE DLC) is discounted.

The DLC for those who already have the physical copy of Super Street Fighter IV (normal one) and would like to upgrade for the AE (my case) is still costing 1200 MSP.

Well, at least, I’m happy I bought my disc used, as well as all the other Capcom games I have :-)

  • Johnblair Tighe

    Orange box tommorow!!!!

    • Nitramuse

Orange box today… or should I say, yesterday…

    • TheRequiem95

That was yesterday, but I think yesterday’s deals have been extended to today since they went up late.

  • Iain Baillie

    Prices for the UK.

    Mortal Kombat – £14.99
Mortal Kombat vs. DCU – £4.49 (520 MSP)
    Street Fighter IV – £8.99 (1040 MSP)
    Street Fighter X Tekken – £11.99 (1400 MSP)
Super Streetfighter IV Arcade Edition – £4.49 (520 MSP)
    Tekken 6 – £8.99 (1040 MSP)
    Tekken Tag Tournament 2 – £11.99 (1400 MSP)
The King of Fighters XIII – £4.49 (520 MSP)

  • Jared Walsh

i just buy KOF 13 DO think i just the right move

    • Liquidfx Xboxdude

  • Vita Herb

And again I can’t buy anything cuz it won’t let me, ‘not available to my current location’.

And there are like 5-6 games i wanna get! What up marketplace??

    • Tania Sakelariou

change your account in the region you live now.Its simple,go in the official xbox site and fix this (sorry for my bad english)

      • Vita Herb

yes, the thing is that there is no xbox live support for Bulgaria!

It doesn’t always give an error when purchasing, I managed to buy Assasin’s Creed Brotherhood a few days ago and all is ok. Maybe depends on the publishers or smth.

        Thanks for the suggestion. :)

  • Dan Etheridge

    In this sale, I have picked up the following;

    Call of Juarez
    GRAW 2
    Tomb Raider Legends
    RE 4
    RE code veronica
MK vs DCU (Already had, but damaged disc)

    MGS HD
    MGS PW

Goes to show, good prices = people spending.

    • ungeheier

      For me it was:

      Batman: Arkham Asylum
      Batman: Arkham City
      Max Payne 3
      Civ Rev
      Fable III
      Kane & Lynch
      El Shaddai
      Halo Wars
      Left 4 Dead 2

    • Nathan

      In my case:

      DiRT 2
      TC: Hawx
      El Shaddai
      MK vs DCU
      The Orange Box

Thinking about picking up TC: Rainbow Six Vegas… never played that one. Is the SP worth it?

      • BlinkFandango

It’s $5, even if it isn’t worth it, you didn’t lose out on much. I haven’t played Vegas, but I played the old Rainbow Six games on the original Xbox and they were a lot of fun.

    • Ryan Davis

      My list (so far):

      GRAW 2
      Resident Evil 4
      Resident Evil 6
      Tomb Raider Legend

And I would have bought more if I hadn’t gotten them for Christmas.

    • BlinkFandango

      For me:
      Call of Juarez
      Rainbow 6 Vegas
      RE CV
Probably going to pick up Tekken 6 today too.

I would have bought more, but I have two problems I either:
      1. own the game already, or

      2. want the game, but don’t want to spend tons on the DLC (I know I don’t have to get DLC, but I’m OCD, I don’t like getting a game without the DLC).

    • Curtis Isabell

for me, and this is me being as stingy as I can looking for only the best deals.

L4D2, you had to be crazy to miss this, as a used copy goes for more than $20
DMMM:E it was $3 and a first person RPG, i like RPGs, it was $3 worst case scenario I laugh

thought about civ revolution but idk. probably won’t get it.

      • Dan Etheridge

Civ is great, although quite difficult.

    • Neftali Rodriguez

      I got:
      The Orange Box
      Fallout 3
      El Shaddai.

      This was a good deal.

    • John Doe

My friends hyped me into getting Halo 3. Never had deep interest in the Halo games, but regardless if I hate it or not, $10 wouldn’t be a total waste and I had points to kill, and we were running out of co-op games to play together. Every other game however I am heavily interested in, but I prefer physical disc over digital.
I almost bought the Assassin’s Creed games and Tomb Raider Legends, almost.

  • Ben Aubrey

So 7 days in and most of the games I want are still region locked. Why would you screw the rest of the world over and not allow us to give you money. Makes no sense in any way. Especially because you don’t tell us games are region locked on the marketplace or official website.

    • Diego Plentz

Just use a VPN, buy using your browser and you’re good to go.

  • Matthew

Microsoft should do this type of sale with XBOX Live Arcade games

    • Boe2

      They did, during the holidays.

Though granted, they COULD announce such things a bit more.

      • Ryan Davis

Yeah, they’re really not very public about it. If I didn’t follow Major Nelson on Twitter or peek at the dashboard before I start playing, I’d have no idea these sales existed.

      • ATBro

Or they could do it with Live Arcade games that every one doesn’t already own. Or are less than 2 years old.

        • Jonas Polsky

Yeah, when you look at some of the 800 point XBL launch titles, you just shake your head. They should be two bucks at this point.

          • Jess Ragan

Who’s the cornball who keeps downvoting requests to lower the prices on Xbox Live? “No, I want to spend MORE money on games!”

          • Bennijin

            Lower! Lower!

      • Bennijin

And those discounts weren’t much like this sale, not by a long shot.

    • Curtis Isabell

they should do this kind of sale every day with everything and anything… I have spent more MS in the last 3 days than I have in the last 2 years. I think the last thing I bought with MS points was BF 1943.

    • Vince

    • Derek Reeves

Errrr…they do. Some good title have been on sale too.

  • Steve Prime

mortal kombat komplete edition in stores is $19.99 so this one is not as good as retail

  • Calico Jack

Hey guys I need some help. This list says that Super Street Fighter Arcade Edition is 800 MS pts but if you look on the marketplace and read the details for this game is really just Super Street Fighter 4(which I already have the disc version of) and the actual version of Super Street Fighter Arcade Edition is actually 1200 MS pts. Im confused about which one to purchase because there are no refunds available so any assistance or information about this would be greatly appreciated.

  • Vikky Valentina

so Street Fighter X Tekken ,Tekken Tag Tournament 2 or The King of Fighters XIII

    • AshtonNextGen

If you live in the UK you’re not saving THAT much money on the Tekken games, plus King of fighters is only 2.08GB.

It depends on your region and pricing, I say check Amazon in your area first and go with the game you’d be saving the most money on.

  • Travis R.

Glad to see that TTT2 is on sale for lower looks like I’ll pick than one up! SF X TEKKEN sounds good deal as well..

  • TheRequiem95

I already have SF IV. I understand that the Arcade edition listed here is the full game, but why isn’t the SF IV Arcade Edition DLC upgrade $5 or less at this point?

  • Liquidfx Xboxdude

Mortal Kombat $19.99? that is how much the disc version with all the dlcs is and Street Fighter 4 for $10, lol it is less than $5 at Gamestop. again, this is the most non-ultimate game sale i have ever seen. microsoft sucks at deals.

  • Clint

If MS were really smart they’d put all the games they’ve had on specials over the last few days on special again for one more day. Many people have been holding out waiting to see what would be coming next and now that all the game specials have been publicised they may be regretting the one game they missed out on, or perhaps have some money left that is burning holes in their pocket.

I know that I, for one, would probably buy another three games if they were all to be put on special for one more day… there were those games I was undecided about but now in hindsight I reckon I should’ve got them.

So come on MS, and Major Nelson, surprise us and gives us all one more chance to spend, spend, spend….

    • Denny Hilliard

I know I’d pick up Red Dead if it went back on sale.

    • theConstruct

      I know I would.

    • BlinkFandango

Or better yet, put them all on sale again with all their DLC on sale. There are tons of games I would have gotten if their DLC wasn’t full price (no way I’m paying $5 for a game and then $20 for it’s DLC).

      • Ryan Davis

Agreed. Knowing that the DLC for the game will probably never have a permanent price reduction and that I’ll have to keep hoping and checking for sales to complete the experience has held me back on a few purchases.

    • Jorge Garza

They are smart, that´s why they are billionare and get richer and richer, and we are just customers.

    • Chris Bautista

Honestly on Major Nelson’s site he did publicize what was going to be on sale well in advance. He may not have known which day the game would be on sale but he did give us a list of all the games that would

      • Clint

I am fully aware of this. It does not, however, change my sentiment. We still did not know at what price they would appear so some, myself included, would still have held out to see what was offered.

By the way, no need to get defensive, this was not an an attack on MS, nor Major, but rather a suggestion which, based on likes, appears to be a sensible one for MS to heed.

        • John Doe

He also supplied a possible range of percentage of the discount, just take some educated guesses for each game you were interested in and get prepare for whatever it may cost. If you weren’t prepared to buy it, then you wasn’t interested to begin with, simple as that.
You wouldn’t go hop in a random restuarant(sp?) with $30 in your name only to find out that every meal was expensive would you? No, you would had planned more carefully and brought more money before stepping in those doors. Right?

I can understand if the games were mysteriously revealed per day as he usually does it during the Christmas sales, but this was different for once. And based on your comments, it’s not like you were strapped for cash until “X day” like some people mention in a different topic. I really hate to say this and I mean no disrespect but YOU really don’t have a solid excuse here.

yeck…can’t believe I’m defending Xbox Live business tactics…

          • Clint

John, I find it rather intriguing that you feel you can speak on my behalf. I’ve clearly said that in hindsight there are a few more games I would have purchased and if they were to go on sale again I would do so. Why do you feel you can argue with me on that point?

Yes, I could have tried to guess what price the games would be listed at but they would have been just that, guesses! I would still have had to wait for them to be listed before seeing if my guesses were indeed accurate. As it is I did not guess that Max Payne 3 would be available at the equivalent of $5 in the SA market.

        • Chris Bautista

Clint I apologize, I didn’t mean to come off if I was rude in any way. I was just stating some facts but I do see where you are coming from.

          • Clint

            Apology accepted :)

        • Emil Wegrin

But MS won’t to it another way. If you wait, and check for your game every day on XBL, it’s a 99% chance you will buy another one on the sale. If you were waiting for MGS which was on sale day 6, and when you were checking at XBL you found that Dead Island was very cheap on day 3, and you bought it, it’s a success for MS. They earn lots of money on what they’re doing ;)

          • Clint

Believe me, they made lots of money off me already. I bought 11 games! They could well have got a few more off me though if there was one more day given to get those “regrets :)

            Left for Dead 2
            Max Payne 3
            Halo Reach
            Halo Wars
            Batman Arkham City
            Dirt 2
            Borderlands 2
            Fable III
            Portal 2

    • GmailIsDown

I would pick up the 2 batman games I missed if there is an encore deal.

  • Jake

M$ doesn’t know how to price their DIGITAL items very well. To be a good deal, it needs to be cheaper than what it costs to go into a used game store and pickup an actual physical disc copy of the games. I’ll never understand why they price their on-demand games higher than the prevailing used game prices.

    • Nick Peck

Go check steam’s non sale items, nintendos eshop and the the craptacular psn store. Everyone needs to lower the digital only pricing as it isn’t just MS. I’m hoping once next gen comes around and people demand more digital downloads they will start pricing them accordingly. If not, no one will buy them and all of the cloud plans all of the companies have won’t work out 100% for them.

    • Ryan Davis

To be fair, it’s tough to match used game prices since both the devs and Microsoft have to see profits from what’s sold on the marketplace. As long as they can beat the price of a new physical copy, I’m happy with digital. I like to know I’m supporting the devs that make great games, even if I do only spend $5-$10

  • dools

I’m actually glad this sale is ending and there’s nothing left I want to buy as I’m running out of room on my hard drive.Got around 12gb of free space left

See MS if you charge decent prices for stuff people will buy it.I happily bought 10 games in this sale.10 games that I never would have even considered buying at their regular prices

    • GmailIsDown

i think i spent around 8000 msp in this sale my hdd is almost full as well. i’m sure this is just microsoft’s way to lure people to buy their new 320GB HDD bundle lol

    • Dan Etheridge

I’m in the same situation as you. About 16gb left of 120.

  • Fernando Coli Viotto

Just bought KOF XIII and Super Street Arcade Edition :)

I also recommend Mortal Kombat for the old fans but still I think the price with discount is overpriced considering it isnt the Komplete edition.

  • Youngindy21

Yeah you’d be a fool to pick up Mortal Kombat in this sale when you can go to gamestop and get the Komplete Edition with the physical disc and all of the DLC. AND CAN SOMEBODY EXPLAIN TO ME WHY YOU WOULD BUY STREET FIGHTER IV when YOU CAN JUST BUY SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV Arcade Edition for the EXACT same PRICE and get more characters and more features. Who are the idiots working at Microsoft.

    • Liquidfx Xboxdude

the same idiots that come up with the horrible deals every week.

      • Guest

The people that made these deals simply never played Street Fighter 4 it seems.

The only SF4 version that is relevant is the arcade edition. The others are hopelessly outdated, you won’t find anyone to play against, except for some lost kids: No rosters, no spectating, no replays, missing characters, missing balance fixes.

Do the less SF4-savvy customer a favor and only sell the arcade edition. It’s supposed to replace the “vanilla” SF4 game, not exist next to it.

  • bioadam

Major Nelson, please stop making me spend all my money! Mortal Kombat v. DCU for $5, that’s insane!

    • John Doe

My sarcasm meter is broken, but incase you were dead serious, not only the game is old, but horrible. Go ahead and ask the Mortal Kombat community.
Broken online mode with people using broken characters.
      No Replay Value
      Crappy Finishers/Fatalies
Story mode is only good for two play throughs due to two story sides.
There’s a Kombat Challenge mode which is next to impossibe to complete due to the following…
      Above all, horrible button registering.
I always use the thumbstick for Fighters, but this game is so terible, I was forced to use the D-pad which says a lot, and even then that barely helped.
This game was so bad, it couldn’t save Midway from going bankrupt.

  • Matthew

SSF IV Arcade Edition same price SFIV? Seriously Micrososft? :S

  • Miguel Angel Montejo Raez

Great Offers, if it would be every X months I can buy only digital games. ¿Why love us Steam? Offers in old games are welcome.

    • ikari_paul

agree. if they want to push digital distribution in the future, they really need to have more sales like these. If the costumer loses the ability to sell the games they own, then at least they should be cheap(er). Over here, a lot of people think that the xbox is in a whole different market than steam, that its business model doesnt apply, because the xbox is a console, and steam is on a pc… thats nonsense. you just have to look at the specs of the next-gen consoles, and theyre high-spec’d PC’s running a proprietary OS. nothing more. Same game as steam. The xbox doesnt live in a bubble, and has to adapt to the changing business models. Adapt, or get overrun by the competition. Custumers are a fickle mistress, they should not take us for granted, or think that Halo and Fable is all it takes to win the next round.

Microsoft making up its own exchange rates again. £4.49 is not $4.99

im not sure, but in the US prices are always shown without tax… no? Dont know if during checkout the price then gets updated with the tax relative to the state you live in…

In the US once you select purchase, then you see the tax. If you buy with points then you don’t pay for tax (but that is because you already paid tax for the points).

I think he is just talking about the exchange rate though. If it is $4.99 in the US, that is 3.31 Pounds (3.97 after VAT). At least that is what Google told me…

so, if you buy Mortal Kombat (which is here shown at $4.99) youre actually going to pay more, right? how much is that, in average?

would be nice if we in Portugal could also buy stuff in Microsoft Points. Over here, everything is only in Euro… and also a couple of games on sale (like El Shaddai) are not even available to buy (just have a demo, nothing else). Shame. Honestly, you guys have to improve the system a bit more. Just not up to the same standards of other stores.
