Nice way to alienate your audience since most of us don’t have a dream of being competitive in this stuff. A lot of effort and marketing to cater to maybe 5% of the gaming elite that would actually have a chance of getting anywhere. Sure, anyone can join, but it would be a little silly to bother if you know you’d have no hope. And of course, we have to have a prominent advertising sponsor, like all things Xbox lately. Please stop going to extremes. You either cater to the hardcore pro or the casual who’s afraid of controllers. What about all of us in the middle? I suppose we get a new video channel.

    • http://twitter.com/duznot Brad Lavender

So your reaction is to complain? If you don’t think you have what it takes to be competetive, then don’t enter.

      • ElektroDragon

I complain about everything. It’s the only way to improve products and services.

        • http://twitter.com/duznot Brad Lavender

I can respect that, I suppose. In this case, though, I don’t think this is your best forum. Major reads our comments, but I wonder how much he passes along to the right place just due to time constraints.

          • ElektroDragon

He’s the only Xbox community liason left, honestly. I mean with Sony we get a fancy blog with a dedicated staff, but at Xbox, all we have is our dear Major!

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/Curtis-Isabell/1036013363 Curtis Isabell

major seems like a pretty cool guy at least, wish he commented more.

playstation blog is nice but i have to log in every time i comment, but it seems they at least respond to a few of the first comments on every post.

          • http://www.majornelson.com Major Nelson

Actually, a lot of the Xbox staff (and industry) reads the comments. I do share the thoughtful, mature comments that raise good points.

          • MaidenLOKO

That’s nice to know major!!!Then tell xbox staff that other contries beside US and UK also want to participate, especially of a numerous rewards programs that are US only, and also and most important we want to have access to the same digital downloads that are avaiable to the US in the marketplace :)))

          • Nick Peck

It’s not always up to MS as to where sales can happen, most of the time it’s up to that country / state (or whatever). It’s just like the US, some states don’t allow certain types of sales for whatever reason. Countries do that to and are usually to play in situations like this (not always, but most of the time).

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/Curtis-Isabell/1036013363 Curtis Isabell

he speaks. could you comment on the mediaroom sell/buy thing I tried linking the article but can’t it sounds like xbox TV will be coming in the future.

          • http://twitter.com/GreenMistt Miller

Are you sharing comments that are bringing up valid points about PSN in comparison with XBL that could be used to better the xbl service?

          • http://twitter.com/NAVARiN Bennijin

            Both of them? ;D

          • slasaru

On such occasion i would like to once again draw their attention to always online issue )))

          • DudBug

In that case, and because I have no idea where else Microsoft is seeking feedback from their Xbox community, then please forgive me for posting this request here. If recent rumours are true, please can we have backwards compatibility in the next Xbox as it is now (if the rumours re. always online, price etc. are true…) the only thing that will keep me loyal to the Xbox brand.

I agree with the above poster that, despite loving gaming, gaming tournaments have zero interest for me and, presumably, most of the other gamers who are not amongst the elite. Good luck to them, but it offers nothing to the rest of us.

          • Nick Peck

Really? Nothing about the next Xbox will be talked about by ANYONE at MS until they do the reveal. You should know this by now lol. Don’t expect an official response to this, ever. You just have to wait like the rest of us. As for BC, keep your 360. I still to this day don’t get how many people cry for BC but then pretty much never use it, ever.
I never expected the next Xbox to play 360 disc games but hope that via software GoD and XBLA games work (I’m sure XBLA games will), but if not oh well as I’ll be keeping one of my 360’s at least for old games if I ever want to go back to them (which I probably won’t).

          • DudBug

What bothers me is the combination of two of the current rumours: (1) always online and (2) no backwards compatibility. What does this mean for purchases made with the new Xbox? Presumably, if Microsoft have no intention of honouring backwards compatibility in the future, then this means that purchases made with the new Xbox will only be playable for as long as Microsoft’s servers allow you to access your console. Every purchase will become a rental.

          • gary

So why all this time have their been so little content reduced permanently to decent prices? Whatever stick with your $80 GonD and 1200MSP arcade games.

          • Nick Peck

it’s sad there aren’t that many these days :( However, I can’t wait to see what’s store for us true fans in the coming months!! You guys are busy I’m sure.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Curtis-Isabell/1036013363 Curtis Isabell

we should happy because this is something to do with gaming at least, granted, I would rather have a new IP or 2.

      • ElektroDragon

        Good point.

    • bko

Sorry you suck at games. #dealwithit?

      • xXgannicusXx

or he doesn’t dedicate half his life to playing one game. reality check: the people who win tourneys play the game obsessively, nothing to do with natural gaming skill, and with sports games like those mentioned winning usually involves exploiting design flaws or have you not played Madden & NHL? I’ve always been good at NHL but I’ve always come across gamers who rinse & repeat the same moves/setup to exploit a design flaw.

        • bko

Or it was an Adam O joke. Goodness.

          • xXgannicusXx

no clue who you’re talking about

I am pretty sure it’s way more than 5%. More like 50%.

    • http://twitter.com/MKTheory John Doe

WHAT people in the middle?! You either suck at the game or you don’t, either or, you’re able to compete, it’s not alienating anybody.

  • rhooper

Virgin gaming tournament. No pun needed.

    Yay! US only, yet again!

    • slasaru

“The exclusive app, available this week in the U.S., U.K. and Canada”

    • http://twitter.com/MKTheory John Doe

      “I CAN’T READ!”

      • http://twitter.com/Nitramuse Nitramuse

Ah, come on, hater. You know what I mean. Would you be happier if I said “Yay! Now give some thought to Europe and Asia!”?

  • ryder4life22187

just when i thought we got a decent app. Then i released it’s all about sports games which I don’t intend to play.

    • http://twitter.com/dlchief58 Michael Burden

Maybe for right now an that is mainly because they are one to one matches, whereas most shooters are team based. Virgin Gaming site has a few more games than this that they use such as Dirt 3, and they will undoubtably bring more along with time. At least this should be better to try to get matches set up than the web site, but will wait until I try the app before making any judgements.

  • http://twitter.com/dlchief58 Michael Burden

Did you miss the other half, Madden and NHL? And I wouldn’t be surprised if more games are added in the future, such as Dirt 3 or other racing titles.

  • http://twitter.com/Silent_killer01 Silent Killer01

WTF, I try to make my account and it says “Maximum length exceeded” when I type in my username. But below the box it says

“We suggest using your Gamertag or PSN ID as your screen name.

There will be xbox-live-ready TVs, just like ps-ready mobiles

  • http://twitter.com/MKTheory John Doe

The next event should be racing games and let that be the end of it. You put shooters or WWE games and you’re just begging for turbo controller users.

  • http://twitter.com/danielpedersen8 daniel pedersen

Any idea when this will land in Scandinavia?

  • http://twitter.com/danielpedersen8 daniel pedersen

And will it be possible for shooters such as BF3 etc?

  • http://twitter.com/HeyImSwat Daniel

China called…they would like their wall back.

    • Tiger Moon

lol Gee sorry that I didn’t just post a more common meaningless or low IQ rant/complaint/retort or witty pointless reply like you have given me. My apologies for actually being able to express a meaningful opinion and feelings where someone might have to read and then even put in effort to respond in an intelligent way (good or bad). I still have to work on being the “typical” internet poster, cause we all know there needs to be more of those! Thank you for taking your time out to remind me and others of that :)

      • http://twitter.com/MKTheory John Doe

It has nothing to do with “intelligence” Mr. High and Mighty. No one likes a wall of text. Edit your comment and start paragraphing it.

        • http://twitter.com/HeyImSwat Daniel

          What John said.

        • Tiger Moon

Hmm says someone else who is adding nothing to the discussion, then has the need to add “Mr High and Mighty” in their response, while speaking for “everyone” and demanding that I edit and paragraph the post? lol Once again adding nothing to the discussion, I can see why you’d be offended. If a person can’t read something or can’t respond, then why not just skip over it?? It’s one thing to give a response, then maturely mention “a paragraph would be nice btw”. I believe It’s another to take time out to only respond with such remarks?? It has nothing to do with being high and mighty. It has to do with encountering the endless supply of immature people like yourself or trolls on the internet, who can’t even take time out to respond or add to the topic/discussion with at least a meaningful or “intelligent” reply of their own, but instead “oh gee I can’t read/reply to what you say because it’s too long or not structured perfectly” and that is it. All I did was take time out to actually respond to a comment, I didn’t go through posts to pointlessly throw out remarks and disrespect others. But once again, thanks for also proving the point I made.

Someone who decided to take time out only to whine about the structure of what another has posted on a forum, says a lot about that person. Not to mention, I only posted it that way since it was my first post on here in a long time…but it shouldn’t matter. I know I at least respect those who take time out to express their thoughts/opinions on the topic at hand (whether I might agree or disagree). This will obviously be the last reply to any pointless comments. Have fun :)
