MS are held to certain trade agreements with these things. That’s not going to change unless you complain to the people blocking them in your own country (usually the television networks). It sucks but complaining here isn’t going to do anything to help.

      • ikari_paul

now that the next xbox is going all media center/portal (apparently according to rumors), i just sucks to know that in the future M$ wont really bother to licence stuff, and (in case i ever buy the next xbox) I’ll get get half of the experience. heck, we dont even have access to XBLIG (indie games) over here… shame

in this case, im sure M$ could at least allow people to vote from anywhere in the world, no? Its just a vote. Guess I wont complain about this too, or ***holes like user “Sid Meyer” down here will get all worked up about it too

Boo hoo, I can’t get everything I want, my way.

It gets so sickening. Dude, from the very beginning MS touted the Xbox as a media hub. This is nothing new.

And Sony, Apple, Google, Netflix, Amazon and all other companies have the same licensing challenges that MS has. You can’t get everything everywhere.

Stop your whining. Get over it and move on.

          • ikari_paul

I will get over it and move on… to the PS4

Word of advice: when going to the rescue of Microsoft, don’t behave like a whiner, accusing others to be whining. You’ll just sound pathetic. Judging from the maturity of your comment, guess your not more than 10 year old, so i cant expect too much.

If you were in my shoes, where I don’t even have access to 20% of XBL services & apps, yet pay 30% more for live gold, you wouldn’t behave in such a arrogant way, and would at least understand my point of view. But i guess the internet does encourage self-centered babies like you to vent their frustrations on others, so i guess that’s asking too much. Looking at your comment history, your just a very sad person. Guess you need to bully everybody who doesn’t agree with you, because you have some unresolved childhood issues. Your sad.

Now, Microsoft has the right to offer whatever service it wants, and i have the right to buy into the platform, or not. If the XBL service doesnt become more attractive to users outside the US, a lot of international gamers wont buy into the next xbox… Thats what i feel will happen, according to the feedback i get from a lot of people around here.

But Microsoft doesnt need to be afraid, itll always have such narrowminded selfcentred people like you to buy whatever they release. It wont need the rest of us.

          • QuixoticRocket

PS4 will have the same licensing issues. Stop continuously blaming MS. The only thing you can blame them for is charging for gold, but that’s another issue entirely (in fact part of that charge probably goes towards trying to obtain licenses so it’s not all bad, but it is another expense).

It’s a sucky situation I agree with you, but make sure you’re complaining to the right places otherwise you’re just making noise and will get no results (other than attracting people who are going to disagree with you).

I suggest waiting for both next gen consoles to be released before deciding which to get if you’re in a country that has licensing issues (even the UK doesn’t get everything). Wait to see which platform can offer what and then make your decision on that.

But it’s not all MS. They’re open to allowing other media providers create an app for the xbox. In the UK we get loads of TV via a number of LOCAL TV companies. If you’re not getting things locally then start kicking up a fuss with your local guys too.. maybe they’ll get their butts in gear.

Newsflash: I was imitating you. I guess the subtle things in life are lost on you.

This is the funniest thing ever. You go on a long self-centered diatribe and then you accuse me of the same. Typical. And if you consider this bullying you’re way too sensitive.

I find all the whining from people complaining that want every little thing their way to be sickening, so I’m calling and others out, in the hopes this would stop the inanity.

Speaking of maturity. I’m sorry, but gamers and tech fans have to be the most self-entitled immature consumers of all. I like gaming but you all make me wish social media was never invented.

Allow me to explain it again. All your points warp up in a nice big whine. You’re complaining that you can’t vote in some contest. Hello, this is of major importance? No. You’re a big whiner.

if you have no interest in the next xbox, I’m glad i won’t be seeing you again here.

and oh yeah, and the fact that you refer to microsoft as “m$” just highlights your childish and unrealistic mentality.

Great! I’m glad to see MS finally realizes video is more important than games. I mean the Xbox audience is all grown up now. We don’t need games anymore, we want some serious movies and TV like all respectable adults. Besides, you can insert ads into videos more easily than games. Excited!

wouldn’t it be better to have video game awards as voted by xbox users or something?

    • m1nh0ca

Gamers on Xbox belong to the 2nd tier.

    • HowlJenkins

      Not important.
But coincidentally, Sony held its own VGA in February.

is important, but if we want to be honest, the voting system was terrible, basically, download the free theme of the game you picked for each category.

but at the same time, the winners were discounted the next week.

        • HowlJenkins

That was supposed to be sarcastic, but I probably should have included this *sarcasm* :P
But yeah, the theme thing was stupid.

It is disappointing to see that even a simple vote isn’t shared out of North America

    • ikari_paul

its really the only market they care… dont even know why people outside the US bother with the xbox anymore
