If you want to watch the #XboxReveal event from your Windows Phone 8 device, download the free Live Video Player app and you can watch it on the go.

    No windows phone 7.8?

    • LorenzoA

I guess not, plus there’s nothing for us 7.5 users that at&t won’t let us upgrade to the new live tiles.

  • Volitar Prime

Will there be an easy way to watch it on the more popular phone platforms?

    • mcmax3000

You’re supposed to be able to watch via the mobile site on iPhone/Android according to a tweet from an Xbox employee I saw earlier.

      • Volitar Prime

Thanks, I’ll watch it that way then :)

  • Avatar Roku

Cool. I hope they use this app for the E3 conference and BUILD conference in June.

  • Lee Rayson (DarkGin87)

I like the idea but I do think it should be used as more of a second screen experience on the event, sort of how the WWE do it on the iphone with WWE active

    • mcmax3000

They’ll likely do that via SmartGlass. They’ve used that for other events they’ve shown with the Live Event Player, so can’t see why they wouldn’t do it with this one.

      • Lee Rayson (DarkGin87)

Cheer ill have that on aswell then to see whats going on

  • Kenzibit

So seriously, what difference in CPU snapdragon will not allow WP7.8 not to have this app which is for WP8 only? This simple neglects from Microsoft to WP7 really hurts a lot and gets to us. This is just a video streaming app and don’t understand why its a WP8 app only….Jesus Christ!!!

    • Nick Peck

It’s just like how it works on android, every new version certain things wont work… Luckily I have a Win8 phone incoming soon.

  • Billy

So what about the rest of the 98% smartphone owners? How will we watch it?

    • ɾosɥ ɥɐɐs

If the 98% of smartphone owners have an xbox, Spike TV availability, or a computer connected to the internet, it shouldn’t be a problem. Microsoft is giving us plenty of options when it comes to watching the stream.

      • Volitar Prime

Not for those of us at work behind a company firewall. At least not if we want to watch it live.

        • damaster

I think the reason they’re blocked is so that you can do some work :P

          • Volitar Prime

I’m pretty goood with multi-tasking and will often listen to a morning talk radio show, music, or a podcast while working. As it is for today’s presentation I am going to attempt to watch it during my lunch break.

      • Billy

I have almost none of those options from my corporate work computer. ;-)

    • ODST_365

      Its more like 96.3%

      • Billy

Sorry. I tend to exaggerate sometimes. ;-)

    • mcmax3000

As I mentioned above to someone else, iPhone, and Android users are supposed to be able to watch via the mobile site.

      • Billy

Thanks, I will give it a shot.

  • TonyLN

I posted this on another one of majors blogs… But I felt it needed to be reposted due to the way I think it relates so well to all of us:

    Hurry up and be tomorrow!!!!

  • ODST_365

    19 Hours Remain

    – Microsoft Make Us Proud. Make us just say ” wow ” in seats. Make us say ” That is cool”, shock us. Even though Sony has just shown a teaser trailer of the system that will show at E3. You are Microsoft and you need to show you are the clear winner. Microsoft, we stand with you to reveal the next Generation. Give them a presentation the likes they have never seen and make us 360 users proud.

  • ODST_365

    18 Hours Remain

    – Microsoft Make Us Proud. We expect the best from the best. I have many friends that have switched over to the PS4 show them, conceive, and give them the best. Much has changed in the video game landscape since Microsoft unveiled the Xbox 360 in 2005.Back then, Microsoft was a clear underdog, hoping to cut into the leads held by rival consoles from Nintendo and Sony. The Xbox had a core following, to be sure. But it also had plenty of ground to make up. (Cnet)

    – PS “Like This Up If You Agree” / I WILL DO THIS FOR EACH HOUR /

    • Curtis Isabell

if MS goes back to the ways of the original xbox or early years of 360 i’l be happy.. exclusives coming every few weeks great 3rd party multiplatform games and the best online. they really need to make live free so it is a selling point instead of a hinderence have ” the best online in gaming for free” is better than ” we have the better online but pay us money”

throw in some exclusives that are worth mentioning and a decent starting price and i’m in.

    • JuanCabrera

How can they “switch over” to the PS4 if it isn’t even out yet?

  • Marco Antonio

    and WP 7.8??? :-(

  • SpencerO

I cannot seem to get this app to download from the given link. I was hoping I would be able to watch the reveal on my phone while I’m on my lunch break at work. If this app is indeed only for Windows Phone 8 only I would really like an explanation as to why this is the case.

I am Windows faithful. All of my devices are running some version of it. My current phone is a Samsung Focus running 7.8. I have had this device since November 8, 2010 – the launch of the Windows Phone devices. Now the only reason I have not upgraded to a Windows 8 device at this point is because I live in Canada. Here in Canada, phone contracts last 3 years instead of 2 like in the States (why I don’t know).

So for this reason, I think it is ridiculous not to have this app compatible with other Windows Phone devices given how many other people are likely in the exact same position as me.

Besides….this is merely a video streaming app so don’t tell me older devices “can’t handle it”.

    • Curtis Isabell

could you view it in a web browser from twitchtv or something? I know this isn’t what you are looking for but MS abandoned win phone 7 it sounds like but if you want to watch the show mobile maybe you can just see it through a browser.

      • SpencerO

        I’ll try that. Thanks!

    • slasaru

Man, i cannot download it due to regional limitations ))
      This is more ridiculous

    • Robert Sims

Works ok on my nokia lumia 920. I’m in the UK.

  • Dwayne Taylor

Could you add WP8 and WP7 Xbox games sales and releases to your blog?

    • TonyLN

Please no — At least not the releases… That would be like 100 apps a week or more.

      • mcmax3000

Not if it was limited to the Xbox games on those platforms. There are maybe a couple of those each week.

  • Robert Sims

Looking forward to this and now even more cause I can watch it live now on my phone!!

  • Guest

I can’t wait tell tomorrow. I heard that Sony wanna make another Press Conference for the PS4, so they can copy off the XBOX 720.

  • Joshua Guss

I can’t wait tell tomorrow. I heard that Sony wanna make another Press Conference for the PS4 on Juns 10th, so they can copy off the XBOX 720.

    • Curtis Isabell

guaranteed not to happen because literally a day later is e3. they might have pre show hinting at certain things but there is no way they are gonna hold a press conference 1-3 days before their e3 show.

      • mcmax3000

June 10th is the day before E3 starts… That’s generally when both Sony & MS would hold their E3 Press Conferences, so he’s probably got the date right, but I doubt it’s “so they can copy off the XBOX 720″.

  • Michael Thomson

Good stuff. The reveal is 3am my time, and I didn’t like the idea of getting out of bed. Now I don’t have to :-)

  • Sunny Man

Can I watch it on iPad?

  • Avi Patel

    im so pumped

  • RSix

so with this stream, the traffic will be horrible lol. :D good luck today larry
