Watch Dogs coming to Xbox One

Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs is one of the most anticipated titles of the year, and today we’re thrilled to announce that this exciting open-world action game will be available this year on Xbox One.

In Watch Dogs, players take control of Aiden Pearce, a vigilante hacker on a mission to bring justice to those who wronged him. Using his technological prowess, he’ll take control of Chicago’s networks, devices, and infrastructure to turn the city itself into his weapon.

Created by Ubisoft Montreal, the same studio behind Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry 3, Watch Dogs is shaping up to be one of the most exciting additions to our next-generation lineup.

Stay tuned for more Watch Dogs and Xbox One updates in the coming months!

Nice! looking forward to playing it on Xbox one

multiplatform, we already knew this would come to xbox.

  • ungeheier

Xbox Exclusive DLC: Major Nelson skin for your character.

Looking forward to it. Haven’t decided on the Xbox One yet. Really need to know if I get an Xbox One for everyone in the house if my kids can play my NEW bought games on their own console without paying more?

    • mcmax3000

      From what I understand, no.

They confirmed that other accounts on the same console can play the game, but not on a different console.

      • https://twitter.com/#!/BeeDizz BeeDizz

That makes no sense and that’s what bothered me with the online passes. If I buy 3 Xbox Ones and pay for 3 separate Live accounts, I can’t share a game with my kids, even if I buy it new, so they can play in their own room? Why would I continue to support something that punishes me for sending money? I know this only affects puerile like me with multiple console and accounts, but COME ON. STOP PUNISHING GAMERS!!!!!

I’m sure if you have a family plan it would apply it to all accounts associated with the plan that would make the most sense

          • https://twitter.com/#!/BeeDizz BeeDizz

It would. Except off course Microsoft discontinued the Family Plan.

          • http://twitter.com/JaedenStormes Matt Holden

No, I have one right now. But it doesn’t share licenses between them.

          • https://twitter.com/#!/BeeDizz BeeDizz

You have one because yours hadn’t expired when they discontinued it. When it runs out, you can’t renew it.

          • Morris Buel

            YEP.

And I bet with the ONE they increase the price of Gold, and make it required to even use the ONE.

They’ve already confirmed that you can’t play games offline for more than a day. If the game can’t call home, it won’t play.

          • http://twitter.com/JaedenStormes Matt Holden

It doesn’t do this on the Xbox Live plans now.

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/Curtis-Isabell/1036013363 Curtis Isabell

you cannot renew family plans it will basically ask you to buy 4 separate gold memberships instead. this has been known for months now.

        • feralkitsune

Simply get PS4. Why put up with this nonsense?

          • Xhawk27

Who to say the PS4 won’t do the same thing.

          • Morris Buel

            Sony thus far.

Unless they announce that at E3. If they, do then I guess I’ll be spending money to upgrade my PC and play games on Steam.

I have a feeling Sony is in a position, that they are better reading what consumers want. Look at their indie initiative and how they are willing to let small studios self publish.

  • http://destroyedcontroller.blogspot.com Nintendo Tim

Can we expect the same “density” of Chicago that Ubisoft/Sony were touting the PS4 was going to have?

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Curtis-Isabell/1036013363 Curtis Isabell

based on what we know of specs and rumored specs it will be similar.

  • http://twitter.com/NAVARiN Bennijin

I think it’s about time someone asked about something really important and got down to the nitty gritty of what truly matters.

If a game is on both 360 and One (Watch Dogs, Assassin’s Creed IV, Ghosts, Destiny etc.) will they share a single Achievement list or will they stack?

    • https://live.xbox.com/MyXbox/Profile?gamertag=DarkGin87 Lee Rayson (DarkGin87)

It can’t Xbox 360 would be static achievements were as Xbox1 has dynamic achievements so in theory Xbox1 could change to whatever the player doing or not doing least that’s how it came across

  • fsdfg dsfds

GTA V will piss on this

  • EndrzGame

Thank god PC is the lead platform for this title.

  • Xhawk27

You do know that the PS4 doesn’t have backwards compatibility either.

    • Morris Buel

      I do know that.

That makes the ONE and the PS4 equal.

So from a gaming standpoint thus far, which one looks more interesting?

Check out the trailer for Deep Down. That’s exclusive to the PS4.

  • ZappyKins

Would have liked seeing a demo of this rather than, Sports, sports, more sports, and sports. The other stuff is nice, but wanted to see more than 20 seconds of one game that was new and or unexpected.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Curtis-Isabell/1036013363 Curtis Isabell

tired of sports? TV TV TV TV TV TV TV

      • Morris Buel

Did they ever say which EA game is exclusive? Probably not a new Mass Effect as Microsoft let BioWare go.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Curtis-Isabell/1036013363 Curtis Isabell

as a ps3 and 360 owner, after looking at everything I could find on both, ps4 is a no contest winner.

    • Morris Buel

As a current 360 owner, I completely agree. Unless Microsoft really brings their A game during E3, there is currently no contest.

      Look at the online polls.

Gamespot put out a global poll, #GamespotXbox got only 12% of the votes.

*THAT* is really bad news for Microsoft.

  • NewGoldDream

So after that desaster yesterday it seems that just buying the XBox One is even as thrilling as the game itself. With an always on function and Kinect always hear and see what you do it´s much more realistic than the game:-)

  • Sven Könnel

maybe, looks better on ps4 :( I am very disappointed in MS

    • Shenmue

Let’s not get crazy. Nobody said that was a screenshot of Watchdogs running on the XBOX ONE. In fact I’ve been seeing that walking shot (sans Major Nelson) many times since Watchdogs was announced. In fact, using logic, that’s probably not a shot from the XBOX ONE at all.

  • Shenmue

We all knew Watchdogs was coming to XBOX ONE. However I can’t help but notice how announcements like this seem pretty weak after your competitor has already announced it first.

  • James Cox

Oh the Irony of this game being on XBone

    • Shenmue

      ???

      • James Cox

I think the game will be good. I just mean with Cameras watching you all of the time like Kinect.

        • Shenmue

Understandable. It’s why I refuse to use a webcam or own a smartphone and why I only use Kinect for UI navigation and then plug it out.

Microsoft (and any cam provider for that matter) would do well to state clearly that they will under no circumstances store our pictures without consent.

To be honest though it’s not Microsoft that worries me. It’s the IP providers, government and hackers.

  • JVCode

How much will Xbox One games cost?

    • David

Can you put a price on dignity, privacy, or respect? Then I guess they’ll be priceless beause just having the console in your house will cost all those.
