Amazon poll taken down early as PS4 destroys Xbox 18:1

    • Nick Peck

It’s all good, at least I have exclusives to play on the Xbox One when it comes out. Enjoy waiting though!! :)

      • BigBernard

As long as your internet works…

        • Nick Peck

In 8+ years it has cut out like twice for a few hours at most. I’ll be fine.

          • Liquidfx Xboxdude

yeah i guess you never had a tornado come through and tear up the power lines and such. no need to worry about troops overseas either. as long as YOU have your internet is all that matters. how unselfish of you. good little lamb. now go bahhhh until the xbone comes out.

          • beardyman3218

Surely if a tornado tears through your home the xbox would be the lest of your worries.

          • BigBernard

            Stop apologizing for it.

          • beardyman3218

im not apologizing because theres nothing to apologize for.

          • Liquidfx Xboxdude

            achievement unlocked: apology excepted.

          • Nick Peck

First of all I’m smart enough to not live in a tornado zone (j/k) and I wasn’t talking about the military here, so no, in this instance I’m not concerned about either of them. I’ll bahhhhhh all day until both of my xbox one’s come home, can’t wait!

        • beardyman3218

He could always just tether his phone for the check-in. making your comment useless.

          • BigBernard

Unless his phone company doesn’t allow tethering (like mine), making your comment useless.

          • beardyman3218

It can be done through a usb cable as well i doubt your phone network can stop that and if they could why are you not moaning to them that their restricting your device just like you keep reiterating with xbox one.,

          • BigBernard

I won’t be “moaning” to them because I’ll have no need to tether what with not buying an Xbox One like many others here.

    • Does Not Equal

      So what?

    • nomad682

I wouldn’t trust an online poll even if it is done by Amazon. People can make several accounts just to vote against something.

      • Nick Peck

Exactly, out of those 18,000 people I bet like 500 – 1,200 actually have a preorder, if that. Online polls = garbage.

    • beardyman3218

I doubt the 18,000 people that took part in the poll and actively looking for a way to justify their decision accurately reflects the majority of the people looking to buy either console, these polls are redundant and are only used for gaining popularity as a business or website, its playground tactics.

  • bko

Bet all three developers are thrilled to see all their hard work vomited out as part of a three-game XBLA purge, followed by a slapdash promotional blog post six days later.

Meanwhile, Capcom’s repackaging of old D&D arcade games gets the spotlight all to itself the very next day.

And you wonder why MS has such a bad rap among indie developers right now. I can’t figure it out!

    • http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/blog.php?u=324759 Tylerh1701

Well said. I’ve had my eye on Storm for a while (it has been in release limbo since forever) and apparently it came out on Friday. I didn’t even find out until yesterday when I stumbled across the news on XBLA Fans.

    • Dylan

I’m sure they are thrilled with paying 50K (or something) for each update too.

  • Michael Burden

    Hey Major,

Better have the guys who wrote the dash text for Storm edit the description – there is a big difference between “lightening” (to make lighter) and “lightning” (atmospheric electrical discharge). Also, what is that weird symbol in the word “adventure” between the “d” and “v”? I know you just copied the text so are not responsible for those errors, but you can pass the corrections on to the appropriate department.

I will be putting the demo in my download queue as that looks like a game I could really get into.

    • Nate Welles

Are you on the development team?! Because it’s pretty bold of you to say “change the wording” when you don’t realize how complicated it is. You can’t just ‘change the wording’. Jeez… have you SEEEN titanfall?

      • Michael Burden

I am sorry, do you work for Microsoft? How is correcting spelling errors and typos “complicated”? I was pointing these out so that the dash text didn’t look like it was written by an 8 year old (or the average internet user) and I am sure the developers would appreciate the corrections so their product appears more professional on the sale page.

I wasn’t suggesting to change the wording because it sounded better, I pointed it out because it was blatantly WRONG and the appropriate parties should know so they can correct it.

        • Nate Welles

Lol I’m referencing a video. I’m not seriously aiming that at you. Go look up Angry joe interview Major nelson at around 11 minutes.

          • heyitsme

I got it, I made a movie reference a little bit ago, I am hoping for 8 down votes and someone to go “You mean with the arcade games in this blog?”

        • bko

Sounds like you need to get your sarcasm detector authenticated so it’s working again. Has it been more than 24 hours?

    • heyitsme

This game has all the standard elements and bubbles and you want to complain, oh and that wierd symbol was supposed to be a hyphen, in preparation for X1 all game developers who choose to can use your pop-up window to stream LIVE ADS directly to you, this exciting new feature will be low cost and should not interfere with in-game clouds. Disclaimer: not true

  • PSN_IS_GARBAGE

I can’t believe people are still investing in the Dead Xbox 360. Personally I haven’t bought a single thing since I heard there would be no backwards compatibility with the Xbox One. Why you ask? Well considering the fact that those arcade games aren’t going to last past the life of our hardware and the life of the servers, It isn’t a wise investment IMO. Not only that but the majority of people aren’t even aware of the fact that these title updates for our arcade games are still being saved to our temporary cache instead of our HDD! This means that our title updates (except for the very few retail and XBLA games that do save their updates to the HDD like RAGE and SCOTT PILGRIM) aren’t going to last forever either.

It’s as if MS didn’t cleary think this through.. The Longevity of our investments! Not everyone is Little Timmy who trades in his consoles and games at the end of every generation in order to fund his next investment with a huge loss. Some of us are collectors who value our investments and enjoy playing older games 10 or 20 years down the road. Hell, last week, I busted out my Genesis, NES and Turbographx 16 just for fun.

You won’t be able to do this with Xbox One fellas…. and unless your 360 lasts forever and unless MS enables title updates to be saved to the HDD, you won’t be able to do that with 360 XBLA games either unless you want to play an unpatched game and being forced to start over because your saves wont work without the title updates.

These are just some of the many reasons why I haven’t bought a single thing from Xbox live since Feb and why I don’t trust MS or their anti-consumer vision of the future. So many things wrong with both the 360 and the Xbox One… and people still don’t take notice.

Not me though. That’s why I’ve taken my business elsewhere already.. :)

    • Does Not Equal

      Thanks for sharing.

    • Michael Andrews

Agreed. I’ll take the free game they have been offering but that’s about it. I even stopped giving my kids points. There’s no sense in wasting them on stuff that won’t work on the other system. I’ll just keep my 360 until it burns out.

      • PSN_IS_GARBAGE

And I agree with you as well my friend. With the good news that happened today involving MS renigging on their DRM policies things are looking better for all of us gamers!

    • boe2

No you haven’t taken your business elsewhere, if only that were true. You are still here nagging whining and complaining: “boo hoo, it won’t be backwards compatible”

Grow up. Most consoles aren’t BC, that’s why we tend to keep them. You are not going to buy ANY games until the next generation is here? Good for you, here’s a cookie. Now stop complaining.

(and “updates are saved in temporary cache, DRAMA!!!11one”…heh, you are really grasping for straws now eh? :p)

      • PSN_IS_GARBAGE

Complaining is how you get things done your fat tub of lard. It’s clowns like you that not only need to grow up but get your common sense in order son.
Everything I’ve said is important and affects everyone who keeps their consoles and games through the years whether YOU see that or not dummy!
Grasping at straws kid? Updates saving to the temporary cache is a MAJOR ISSUE! Maybe if you actually grew a brain and valued other’s issues with this instead of coming off as an arogant clown who doesn’t care how this affects “Collectors” like myself you might actually be worth talking to.
My point is you aren’t even on my level of intelligence because it’s CHILDREN LIKE YOU who fail to see how this is detrimental to all of us.
Also, had you ever tell me to grow up anywhere besides a smart alec message board, I’d personally make an example of you physically. It’s you children who need to grow up and see that game title updates need to be not only permanently saved to our HDD’s but they also need to be backed up to usb sticks for the day when the servers are gone. Otherwise we’ll all be forced to play unpatched versions of our games and forced to start over as well because our saves don’t work without the title updates.
You seriously need to get a grip, grow some intelligence and stop being a conformist. Grasping at straws? No son, any rational adult will tell you that EVERYTHING I’ve said is important to anyone who doesn’t sell their games and consoles for a loss like Xbox Juan and Little Timmy in the schoolyard.

        • boe2

You just upped your performance from infantile namecalling to downright physcal threaths. And all that over a toy for playing games. That’s pretty sad :/

  • Vince

    what a load of sh*t

  • kriegir

i was worried thunder wolves had something to do with wolves…then I would be tempted to play my anti consumer xbox

  • kriegir

    amen brotha

  • Boss Saucier

If someone disagrees with you, it is because they CAN think for themselves and don’t need to follow objectors on the internet. You are not educating anyone, you are complaining. Not everybody is in the same situation as you and not everybody sees the new features as faults.

After I play a game, I am done with it. Period. It is just a game.

You clearly do not understand what an investment is. Investments are meant to generate a return. Buying a video game does not give you anything in return. It is simply entertainment. It is an expense/cost.

Our governments love that people are upset and arguing about this because it means that you are not worried about the real issues in the world such as the outrageous amounts of chemicals and toxins in our food and the fact that all health concerns are being “solved” with drugs instead of learning to be healthy. That is where people need to be educated.

    • heyitsme

      ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!?!?

    • PSN_IS_GARBAGE

I just replied to you something along the size of an essay report. Don’t know what happened with this glitchy discus site but I dont care. You sir don’t have a clue if you can’t acknowlege everything I said regarding the longetivity of our game purchases and how that relates to our temporary cache and our game title updates.

Although I’m one that can normally respect a difference of opinion, anyone who thinks that these things aren’t important is clearly inept no matter how you spin it.

An investment doesn’t need to have a return, this isn’t the stock market. An investment is also buying something and having it work years down the road. Or are you just very new to this hobby???

And who wouldn’t see not having a plan to protect our digital content purchases as being a fault? I’ll tell you who, little Timmy and Instant gratification generation gamers who only live in the now. When those Xbox One servers are cut off I really hope everyone wakes up and takes their heads out of the sand.

      • Boss Saucier

I am not new to this hobby. My first console was a Sega in 1987 and I have upgraded with every new generation.

Video games are not important, pal. Seriously, they are just games.

You are clearly not capable of having a civilized discussion.

        • PSN_IS_GARBAGE

You really like the world clearly don’t you? You clearly don’t understand anyone other than yourself and that makes you seem not only ignorant to the issues at hand but also out of touch with anyone who doesn’t live in ONLY IN THE NOW JUST LIKE YOU.

Oh and having a collection and having access to that collection is as important to me as when I used to collect baseball cards and comic books.

People like you CLEARLY don’t see the whole picture.. anyway they try to spin it.

And by the way, when you started gaming in 1987, I was already 13 years old and have been gaming well before you. You know what they say… A DAY OLDER.. A DAY WISER.. my friend! :)

          • Does Not Equal

Hey, look — a pissing contest as to who’s older and who’s been playing video games longer.

          • PSN_IS_GARBAGE

A day older.. a day wiser my friend! :)

  • xboxoneforlife

Hi! I see our Xbox fourms are plagued with people who are switching to the ps4. Please find a ps4 fourm. If you want to talk about xbox you have come to the right place!

    • BigBernard

Who died and put you in charge around here?

      • Does Not Equal

        He did say “please.”

  • Some guy

    Sooooo, what about the games?
Heard good things about Thunder Wolves and Storm but nothing on Fireburst.

  • PSN_IS_GARBAGE

Do you have any link? This would be the only way I would ever consider buying the Xbox one as B/C NEEDS TO BE a mainstay with every console…. no exceptions when everything goes digital. Let me know if you hear anything!
    Thanks.

  • Boss Saucier

I am surprised that someone my age would get so upset over video games. I think you need a hug.

    • PSN_IS_GARBAGE

Are you feeble minded? Wanting to actually own my own purchases is a crime? I think it’s you who needs not only a hug but a grip of reality.
