Let’s adjust your concerns instead of dismissing you for once, though you deserve to be dismissed since you post things that make no sense.

First off, it’s “you’re” in regards to “you are”.
Second, not being able to share? You mean like the Xbox One was initially going to allow people to share games with people across a 3000 mile distance in their region? You mean how you could buy a physical license, and then share that with a friend at the same time as playing it? You mean how they could access your library at any time you were offline or even online (though not douple dip the same game)? Because THAT was sharing for the digital age. Of course, a vocal minority bitched about it loud enough for the media to pick it up for easy views and now that’s gone. Don’t even mention the idea of sharing a game. You hypocrite.

  • Brian David K. Lake

Does putting an $ in place of the S make you feel clever?

I don’t really like liars or idiots, and so I comment against them.

  • Brian David K. Lake

    Well first, it’s “you’re”.

  • Brian David K. Lake

It’s not really an insult if they figure you’ve already got the damn game. Sony just throws out games they know most people already have. Even steam sales aren’t a majority thing, or else they could never afford to keep offering them. A portion of people buy it full price or near as it comes out and the rest wait. The cheap students, usually.

Defense Grid deserves more than a dollar but free is free might make them think of the sequel and purchasing it if they like it. That’s what this service is for, to get you interested in the sequels of games that will come out for the Xbox One.

Just as you own everything on Xbox I already own everything Plus offers. We both feel the same way towards the other. People buy the Xbox for total entertainment not just games, but they buy it for more than just shooters to be honest.

  • Brian David K. Lake

Windows has DirectX designed specifically for it. It is a gaming platform by intention. Using an emulation service to mimic that service? That is not a gaming platform. I can technically use my microwave as a toaster if I vary the heating at a pulse, that doesn’t make it a toaster.

  • Marcus W.

They clearly did not. They said that AC2 and Halo 3 were one of the titles that would be in “Games with Gold”. Xbox Support guys, and the press took this as “They’re starting off with those games!!!!”. There’s a reddit link with Nelson talking about this, find it somewhere, will ya.

  • Rafael Marques

What impresses me most is that there seems not to be a single person, in a strategic position in the company, looking at a choice of game like this and realize how great will be the dissatisfaction of players.

    • Does Not Equal

They shouldn’t have given people free games. Then people couldn’t complain about it.

      • Rafael Marques

Absolutely. If you do not want to give good games for free to your customers, you just don’t go and announce excellent titles at a major video game fair. The problem is that MS did exactly that. And they put those very good games at the spot. But they don`t delivered what they announced.

Their competitor can please and retain their players by providing equally good games, and MS should follow their example. I’m a xbox 360 owner and, overall, i love it! I want MS and Xbox 360 and Xbox One to succeed. I don’t think that MS products are the problem, they are great!

The problem is that MS have terrible sellers. Just terrible. We all seen the unfortunate declarations. I think that the company need to work hard and better on their sellers, at their advertising campaigns, but specially, they need to make their customers (us, the players) feel needed, loved.

Please MS, just be clear about what you want to give us. We won’t complain if we do not expect much.

        • Brian David K. Lake

They said they would and they will, just they never said when.

  • Car

Larry Hyrb, why haven’t you played Defense Grid yet?

  • Franubis

I know that feel bro… this promotion made be decide to have a PS4 instead of a Xbox One.

  • Car

If i burn my xbox do i get to keep this awesome game?

  • Franubis

Please, try to even start comparing all of these games to Deus Ex Human Revolution; I dare you.

  • Nun Ja

Where’s the consensus? Microsoft can’t clean up their mess? They’re better now, it’s just a little bickering here and there among ps4 fanboys, scorned xbox fanboys and trolls? I personally think a lot of what M$ is getting now is just some of us beating-a-dead-horse. While I’m not going to get an xbox 180 until they remove the camera and make it easier of indies to self publish (until the creator of fez, Phil Fish, promotes the xbox one as a good indie development environment)

    • Car

Major Nelson should be forced to finish Defense Grid, then i will consider the Xbox One.

      • Nun Ja

Hey, a free game’s a free game. I do agree that PSN+ has better free games, but that’s not a downfall of the xbox 180 it’s more of a plus for PS3/PS4.

    • Dwight Power

So then you’re never getting a Xbone?

PS+ isn’t the downfall, but damn it’s hard to get Defense Grid and look at PS+ and see they are getting Uncharted 2, Saints Row 3, Deus Ex, Battlefield 3, LBP Karting and Xcom.

and guys stop defending Xbox saying “oh well at least you can keep Defense Grid and replay them for the rest of your life”

I will glady pay $5 to keep 64 games for as long as I wanna own the system and play online, which will probably be the whole 10 year cycle that these Sony consoles last.

I guess maybe Xbox fans are more used to MS dumping the older system when something newer is released. But on the Sony side, they’re used to keeping those older systems around for 3-4 years after the newer console is released.

      • Brian David K. Lake

Maybe I’d care if I didn’t already own the games PS Plus keeps trying to give.

        • Dwight Power

So just because you own them it’s a bad deal?

The majority of gamers don’t have that kind of money to be buying 64 games a year.

If you do, then why even complain about free games? You’re made of money.

          • Brian David K. Lake

Excuse me? There aren’t even more than 5 or 6 good games released each year, sometimes less. And I go by deductive analysis not some strange scale that has no point to it. So I know that for certain.

Even if we were to extend the reach into above average games that’s just adding maybe another 6 or 8 games. PS Plus isn’t giving you all those, they are also giving you a majority of very average games.

I buy the high quality stuff and the blockbusters. That’s not 64.. more like 10. I have the good stuff, I have what’s useful, and I’ve rented the rest via GameFly or played through my PC.

      • Nun Ja

(I know I replied to this comment earlier, I guess naming your sources is against ToS) The last PS2 game hasn’t come out yet, they’re releasing FIFA 14 in September of this year.

    • Does Not Equal

Does that mean you’re not downloading Defense Grid?

      • Nun Ja

No, I don’t even have live gold any more… and don’t plan on paying for gold ever again.

        • Brian David K. Lake

I guess we won’t miss you?

And touting Phil Fish? A known egomaniac and self-righteous child?

          • Nun Ja

:( you’re not going to miss me? Please tell me under what circumstances would you miss me. I picked Phil because he’s opinionated in the matter and because if he can forgive M$ than I can too.

          • Brian David K. Lake

I would miss you if you made rational analysis rather than suppositionary statements. But Phil is a known and very pretentious person.

          • Nun Ja

I asked a question and gave two possible answers in the form of rhetorical questions. Then I stated why I would not be getting the xbox one. Then, in hyperbole, I mentioned Phil as the developer that would change my mind.

I didn’t analyse anything, I asked about the rational of the current state of anti-Microsoft sentiments.

          • Brian David K. Lake

Your statements reflect previous thoughts on the Xbox One prior to its lobotomy and feature reduction. As such you show a sense of paranoia, irrational analysis, and an inability to understand why the original One was better than this.

          • Nun Ja

My paranoia is not unfounded. I know people like you like to accept Microsoft’s “turn it off” defense, but in light of NSA/PRISM I question why a surveillance capable device is mandatory but “can be turned off.” I didn’t just speak gibberish, I rationalized all my decisions. The Xbox One’s original value, with respect to it’s current value, is subjective. Before the change, I wouldn’t even think about getting the console. Now I’ll probably get it used (after someone else does the one-time-only internet connection) that way I won’t be promoting Microsoft for their anti-consumerism and for their blatant alienation of their pre and post change customers.

          • Brian David K. Lake

First off, I can’t believe you’re getting me to log into my laptop. Regardless, the issue with what you’re saying stems from your poor understanding of what PRISM even was. Especially since any worry of it being a policy that would enable such spying was removed when its actual policy purpose was revealed.

On that note, I want you to do a little number crunching. Let’s say 20 million buy the Xbox One in America. Now, let’s say that the NSA can use one agent per 4 concurrent users, and let’s say only 10 million users are concurrently on at any time. That means they need 2.5 million employees at any given time. While it’d be great for the economy that is just a ridiculous idea. It gets worse if you think people from other countries are being watched because that means more and more employees are needed. This is still a ridiculous number if we let one agent go per 8 and shrink concurrency to 5 million.

Microsoft is in it for money, NOT for getting 120 priority supreme court lawsuits on grounds of extraterritorial treason.

          • Nun Ja

PRISM is proof-of-concept, the tip of the iceberg if you will. And just because they can’t spy on everyone all the time, it doesn’t mean that some people can’t spy on a subset of people at a time. I choose not to trust Microsoft for their “optional” device that can measure heart rate and recognize faces at run time.

          • Brian David K. Lake

You clearly have no desire to think rationally. The NSA isn’t using your Kinect 2.0 to spy. They use your cellphone, CCTV cameras all over cities, and email sniffing. You likely aren’t doing terrorism plots in the living room after all. They don’t have the numbers to concurrently view media, and internet uploads are far too slow to maintain high def uploads of videos constantly. You would see this spying by use of a budget increase of massive proportions, that isn’t happening.

The features of the new device are much improved and will greatly assist game design with motion control.

          • Nun Ja

You clearly have no desire to think rationally. The NSA isn’t who I’m worried about, I’m worried about some idiot working for the NSA, some other idiot working for Microsoft, or some hacker. The CCTV cameras are not in my home. Most of us would rather do without the Camera than have to wave our hands at the screen. I know you just blindly accept what Microsoft and the Government tells you, but many of us are tired of their BS.

          • Brian David K. Lake

I don’t blindly accept things. I just don’t get pissed at insignificant factors. I care about the important things.

          • Nun Ja

Well that’s your problem, you believe that what is important to you is objectively important to everyone else. But many of us see the mandatory Kinect as an important issue. I’m only defending my stance against the mandatory Kinect; I’m asking for a Kinect-free option, not a ban on the Kinect altogether.

          • Brian David K. Lake

That would reduce support for the Kinect, which would be bad. It is not subjective in regards to what is and isn’t important. You use rational analysis.

          • Ross

Brian… that was not a very mature comment. And don’t use the term “WE” Brian. You have no business making that generalization. WE never elected you as our representative head of the XBL community.

          • Brian David K. Lake

Seeing as how you’ve shown you’re leaving, you no longer get a vote.

          • Ross

Who said I was leaving? I never said that Brian. You made an assumption based my negative comments about Microsoft.

          • Brian David K. Lake

You told me you were considering leaving. People don’t publicly state “I’m considering leaving”, unless they’re either trying to get a point across haphazardly, or they’ve already made up their mind and are just complaining because they like to.

I’m through responding to you, you’re impudent.

          • Ross

Impudent huh. Why do you feel you deserve my respect? so far you have just bashed people that are upset about the changes Microsoft is making

          • Brian David K. Lake

Vocal resistance from a loud minority.

          • Ross

I would like to point out to you that in this forum the vast MAJORITY has been offering resistance. You are simply the loud minority that feels he has to respond to every negative comment about Microsoft. There are a lot more negative than positive comments Brian. And if it was a small minority resisting several features of the xbox one I am sure that Microsoft would not have reversed their decisions concerning online play and used games

          • Brian David K. Lake

Again, you aren’t researching. Several precedent a of loud minorities affecting change when the media picks them up exist. Because a minority is still a large number and no one can resist bad vocal press for long.

          • Ross

Alright then Brian. Prove it to me that I am in the minority. You tell me that I am not researching but you offer no proof yourself. My first proof is this forum, the majority of comments have a negative opinion. You are one of the only people I see in this forum advocating for Microsoft

          • Brian David K. Lake

More than just me if we’re being honest. The thing about statistics is you either have to have a base taken from a random sample, or you have to include random bases. So no statistic would be accurate taking it from just here. Let’s also not forget that the world works negatively. People rarely say anything if they have no reason to, while they will always say something if their is a perceived negative. So I’m not surprised by your thoughts. That being said, the pure orders, while not superior were quite high as well.

          • Ross

PS4 preorder sales are high than xbox one on Amazon right now. Although an interesting point is that a day after Microsoft reversed its decision on used games and internet connection requirement it briefly passed PS4 in pre-order sales. There is your statistics Brian. I can give MS credit for what it tried to do by making everything digital and attempting to use the internet connection requirement to make gaming better, but gamers just are not yet ready for those changes. My last question is Why do you think that Don Mattick is leaving Microsoft now?

  • Does Not Equal

You missed it by a day.

  • Does Not Equal

You should show your displeasure by not downloading any of the free games.

  • GanonD

Maybe i read in the wrong way.

  • Vonrikke

Xbone is much weaker than ps4, check out the hardware comparison on anandtech

    • Colorfulchew

      Shh.. No one cares…

      • Ross

        apparently Brian cares

    • Brian David K. Lake

Untrue, you’re not taking into account the bandwidth and ESRAM.

      • Ross

You provide no real proof for you comment Brian.

        • Brian David K. Lake

Why don’t you go do some research then? Try and prove me wrong? The links that people post, like that ArsTechnica one, actually prove me right if you actually read it.

          • Ross

I am suprised that you have not yet figured out that I am just attempting to piss you off. And FYI i have done research on this. The capacity for both consoles is similar but Xbox is devoting more of its raw power to apps whereas PS4 is focusing more on gaming.

          • Reid Knight

Not exactly true. The PS4 is focusing more on graphics. I will agree that graphics are a huge part of gaming, but there is still more calculations going on. Sony chose to only have graphical RAM in their systems, so it will, hands down, have better graphics. The downside is that graphical RAM is absolutely horrid for any non-graphical calculations. AIs in games are becoming more and more intelligent, and those calculations require quite a bit of resource. Microsoft is expecting more powerful and resource intensive AI calculations, so took a hit in graphics in order to accommodate.

    • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

you cannot compare console by their hardware but by how programmer take the juice out of it and out of the cloud. they will be probably even and xbox have a slight advantage with cloud

      • Nun Ja

“The cloud” can not do anything on the user end. Scalable servers? Complex non-real-time physics calculations? Lighting? Nothing about the cloud sounds enticing. Yes of course the PS4 and xbox 180 will have similar looking games from 3rd party publishers; but PS4 has the edge in graphics for first party games (because it’s easier to program once and compile twice), though the difference will be epsilon, and with out a 1:1 comparison it’d be like comparing apples to oranges.

        • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

I’m just looking at the fact, see division, titanfall are good exemple of wath xbox bring to user more easily. im no hardware guru but history have told us that hardware have no value alone (neo geo is a good exemple). so dont pretend to be a guru

          • Nun Ja

I try to understand the downfalls of each particular technology I’m interested in, as a developer. (Currently I am studying the practical applications of parallel processing on GPU’s using CUDA.) That said, I’ve read many articles in both cloud computing in general, and specifically cloud computing with respect to gaming, and to be even more specific but less technical cloud computing with the xbox one. Due to network latency, the only practical use for the cloud with respect to the xbox one can be done either by reading from the 50 GB disk, using a regular server, or just using the GPU/CPU. I’m not pretending to be anything, I’m only looking at the facts and coming to rational conclusion.

          • Brian David K. Lake

Off loading background calculations helps free up more processing for the units to focus on other things.

          • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

Cloud computing save me days and week in 3d rendering no mather how powerfull our computer can be, we still benefit from cloud. That being said, i see high potential of the cloud because it allow easier permanent world or AI, just like in Forza 5, that is a good way, when you log off, your “ghost” version of yourself continue to drive. You need cloud for that. I can also understand that it will allow to host game, so no more annoying host migration and hopefully less lag compensation. I can also realise that now BF4 will support more player on the map, because the cloud allow that little hp it needed to handle large game with many player at a decent latency level by reducing the charge of cpu cycle a regular host is normally suffering.

      • Dwight Power

Dude, the cloud is a lie.

How is the cloud gonna help someone that doesn’t have their Xbone connected? Is it gonna magically beam better graphics to it?

        • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

well if you dont use internet, i bet that those great AAA game that require internet connection anyway, because yah they do use the cloud power, are not your kind of thing and if not, well then the hardware may have less impact on the type of game you are playing. Don’t pretend that people don’t buy Call of duty or battlefield etc. to play almost exclusively online. Almost all type of game can benefit from the cloud.

and don’t bring me the “not everyone have internet connection”. If you can’t afford one, don’t buy a console anyway. If you are on a remote location, that is too bad, but at least the majority can benefit from technology and some game are design for an audience that doesnt have internet. everyone WIN

      • ze_fuhrer

ps4 can offload calculations to the cloud as well, they just didnt think their fanbase was stupid so they didnt just repeat a function that has been used in gaming for quite a while. and no im not talking about cloud streaming

    • Nun Ja

It’s not “much” weaker, it’s slightly weaker in some graphics capacities, but it’s still fairly close to the PS4 and will not be noticeably better or worse.

      • Dwight Power

It will show in first party titles, just like it did on the PS3.

BUT at least before the PS3 was more expensive and it was accepted. Now the weaker system is also the one that costs $100 more.

        • Brian David K. Lake

Weaker is subjective, yes in a sense it is slower in bandwidth, but it makes up for that in many other ways that equalize things. Better to do research prior to actually stating such statements so blandly.

It also seems to have a higher focus on cloud activities and of course is the system with Xbox Live, thus meaning it has some very good servers, a thing that Sony has been lacking in since the beginning. This all being said, the Xbox One may be the stronger one in truth.

As for first party titles, the PS3 had very poor first party titles in MAJORITY (meaning not all were poor quality). They seemed to be plagued with AI issues, writing problems, and repetition.

          • Ed

Hardware specs are not subjective. Every analysis of the hardware I’ve seen shows that the PS4 hardware is significantly better than the Xbox One — especially when it comes to the graphics processing. As Anand Lal Shimpi puts it in his detailed 5-page comparison on AnandTech, “there’s no escaping the fact that Microsoft has given the Xbox One less GPU hardware than Sony gave the PlayStation 4″

          • Brian David K. Lake

On that same site they show that comparison is not leap and bounds when everything is taken into consideration.

          • Ed

The author does discuss various other issues, Microsoft’s strategy for example, but the hardware comparison is clear.

          • Brian David K. Lake

No one is trying to say a difference doesn’t exist, but in the long run it will not play a big factor because the differences are marginal when things are all taken into account. Is the PS4 stronger? Yes, just like the PS3 was. There will always be a focus on form-factor production and simplicity at Microsoft, wherein Sony will try to spend money for obtuse creations that aren’t necessary. Will it be beneficial at times? I’m sure, but the difference will not be akin to anything approaching even 10%.

          • Ed

Actually you “blandly” stated that the Xbox One somehow managed to “equalize things”. That was your “obtuse creation”.

          • Brian David K. Lake

It does, and the people agree. That means that the major gap is filled by other means. Don’t nitpick, you’ve clearly lost every discussion you’ve had with me, I don’t see how you keep ignoring that.

          • Ed

If that’s what you need to tell yourself. You don’t provide any concrete counter arguments. You’re all contradictions and vague assertions. For example, when you said there’s no difference between PS4 and Xbox One (before you said that no one is trying to say that) you didn’t say what the “many ways” are that the Xbox One makes up for its slower “bandwidth”.

I’ll give you one thing. You are persistent. I think you’ve proven that much. Well done.

          • Brian David K. Lake

There really isn’t a difference anyone will notice. But what did this trolling of yours get you? It became immaterial the second it was made because its entire existence depends on me.

          • Ross

earlier you said the PS4 was not stronger. You contradicted yourself

          • Ross

This is what I mean by proof Brian!! Good for you, you decided to start elaborating and giving evidence for you claims rather than just making a claim that by itself was false. I am proud of you

          • Dwight Power

Talking about subjective? When you take your biased opinion as fact? Haha.

If anything one of the strongest things about Sony is their first party titles! The gaming community as a whole is in agreement with this! Repetition? If anything Sony has more variety in their first party titles than anyone else!

Killzone, Journey, Little Big Planet, Motorstorm, Heavey Metal, Uncharted, The Last of Us, Heavenly Sword, The Puppeteer, Starhawk, Papo & Yo, Flower, Gravity Rush, Resistance, Jak & Daxter, PS All Stars, Mod Nation Racers, Beyond Two Souls, Rain, Ratchet & Clank, MLB The Show, Wipeout, God Of War, Sly Cooper!

We’ve had a ton of first party exclusives come out this year and are still waiting for Beyond Two Souls, Rain & The Puppeteer!

            What are you waiting for?

So what are you talking about?

And you’re still comparing the FREE service that was in it’s infancy in 2006 to your current Live service. It’s not like that anymore buddy.

    • Does Not Equal

The most-powerful console always wins. That’s why the Wii was such a failure, right?

      • Nun Ja

Although the Wii sold many units, it has not been crowned by the “core gamers” as the winner of the Seventh Generation because of it’s weaker graphics capabilities.

        • Does Not Equal

Nevertheless, it outsold its competitors by a wide margin. The point is that specs are meaningless; people follow the games they want.

          • Nun Ja

True, but the difference between Wii and 360/PS3 is greater than PS3 & 360, and much greater than PS4 & 180. But the Wii U is way out in left field and it’s not selling like the Wii did/is.

          • Does Not Equal

            Well, no.

          • Nun Ja

No what? Everything, or one statement in particular?

  • Dwight Power

Yeah and by then I guarantee you most people wont feel the need to go play Saints Row 3. And if they do, they will be able to grab it for $2 on ebay. Just like I can get PS1 games for pennies.

    • Brian David K. Lake

      You mean fifty dollars.

If you can’t afford $5 a month you have bigger problems than gaming. And don’t forget you get all those games back the second you decide to resubscribe so when you’re done with those really hard times that you can’t afford $5, they will be ready to go again.

Put it this way, if you can’t afford $5 a month, you probably shouldn’t be gaming anyway. Since you’re wasting time gaming rather than looking for a job and you’re using up electricity that you don’t have money to pay for.

Like I said, if I got to play the game, enjoy it and pass it. That is enough for me. I don’t need to have them for the rest of my life. I move on to newer and better games.

If you wanna play Defense Grid for the rest of your life, be my guest.

Do you not realize you’re getting AC2? 2! It already has 3-4 sequels that came after it! And Ubisoft has two teams working on AC titles at all times to assure they get one out a year.

It’s not like you’re getting Ocarina of Time or Shadow of the Colossus, You’re getting AC2! Nobody but super hardcore, die hard ,can’t live without replaying every AC game ever made every year at least twice or I’ll die fans will go back and play AC2 .

    • Brian David K. Lake

When the servers go off it doesn’t matter if you were already subscribed, you lost those.

Perhaps the person leeches the colleges electricity and internet and is in extreme debt but needs a relaxation from time to time? That person probably isn’t on here complaining though.

The majority agree, but a minority or portion of the market do indeed like backwards compatibility or playing older games later. Owning the games, and keeping them on a hard drive allows for that.

AC2 was probably the last full-series AC that wasn’t bad. It was a good game and likely will encourage sales of 4 and potentially 3 (though I hope not). Brotherhood and Revelations aren’t easily available at most retail stores.

Maybe they won’t go back, but I’m sure the people will appreciate playing it. Granted most people won’t finish it.

      • Dwight Power

Yeah and by then I guarantee you most people wont feel the need to go play Saints Row 3. And if they do, they will be able to grab it for $2 on ebay. Just like I can get PS1 games for pennies.

We have access to more games than ever, which means a lot less time to go revisit games. At least a normal person that goes to school, has a job or a life can’t keep up with all the PS+ goodness, and that’s not even counting $5-15 PSN games and AAA new releases.

Ever since I subscribed to PS+ I’ve been gaming 50% than I have in years. And I still have a ton of games I haven’t touched.

Sony has a proven track record of supporting their consoles way after another one is released.

Put it this way, the last PS2 game hasn’t even been released yet.

        • Brian David K. Lake

You know, you say you can purchase it for 2 but when you look at history, we see that games that are discontinued or hard to get INCREASE in price. For instance, KotOR 1 and 2. Those are expensive because they aren’t in production anymore. As such games that aren’t produced anymore will not be found easily or cheaply when you actually want them come time when people lose their libraries.

Subscribing to anything won’t increase my gaming. Gamefly might I suppose, but my gaming is probably going to be reduced 900% soon.

Again, there are only about 6 games of high quality released each year. About 8 above average games are added to that in potential. The average college student or person with a life doesn’t have much to follow up on unless they’ve taken a hiatus for a few years.

Sony also has a proven record for financial incompetence.

The last PS2 game, yet it isn’t developed by Sony.

          • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

getting supermario kart cost me 30$ a few years ago :)

          • ze_fuhrer

but you told me you have every game released on ps+ so youre telling me you bought 50 games you didnt even want? on top of your xbox games? yea your posts seem more and more like troll posts or posts by a microsoft employee

          • Brian David K. Lake

Clearly you can’t read and just troll.

          • Dwight Power

You guys just love dancing don’t you?

The MAIN point is this… the majority of people play games for the immediate joy they get out of them.

Now if you want to have a massive shelf full of games you can go back to years and years from now, and get more joy out of that, then be my guest, Stick to your Defense Grid game. While you can’t have it on your shelf, you can still hook up your old 360, if it still works, and have a blast with it.

If you want to live in the moment and have a blast NOW, then PS+ is a much better deal.

          • Brian David K. Lake

Not if you have every good game already. And not if you notice PSN rarely ever offers any game that’s above average.

          • Lezlow

Right and when I forget to pay the PSN bill I loose all those “Free rental” games. That’s ok. I’d rather have truly free games and wait to see what MS offers in the coming months rather than judge off one game.

    • JaeeTV

Lol. True 5$ comes in 5 minutes every single day. If you can’t pay that.then you.have a terrible life… and I was wondering why people wanted ac2 so bad. The average gamer including myself has ac3 and have already or planning on pre ordering ac4 . Why go back?

    • Does Not Equal

I think I’ll just play Defense Grid when I want to, instead of for the rest of my life.

      • Dwight Power

        So ummm, never?

In the meantime I’ll be playing Uncharted 3, Deus Ex, The Cave, Saints Row 3, Uncharted GA, Gravity Rush, LBP Karting and maybe some God’s Eater on the side.

But gosh darn it, I only have them for a year… I hope that is enough time. Oh wait, if I renew the awesome PS+, because you know not only is it good for games, but I also save a ton and that in itself pays for itself, then I’ll have them for another year :)

Have fun with your Defense Grid game though.

        • Guest

Are you sure you replied to the right person? You addressed a lot of points I hadn’t mentioned and really don’t care about.

          I’ll be playing Lost Odyssey.

    • BigPattyG

I am greatly discontent with what Microsoft has done, and most of my talk in this forum has been arguing against those who defend the MS policy, which smacks of callous indifference to the consumer. But let’s not go so far as to say the Sony policy isn’t also problematic. Whether or not a player wants a game for a short or long period, the ‘rental’ system is part of the continuing corporate trend towards forcing the end user to license the product, rather than own the product. We are at their mercy as long as they exert total control over whether or not we can play the games, and that I simply don’t agree with.

      • ze_fuhrer

or you could buy a game you like on ps+ , see tin foil hat not needed

        • Brian David K. Lake

          Nope, the servers still suck.

      • Dwight Power

Listen… you’re paying $5 a month for an online service, and get 64 games in the process… come on… what more do you expect?

I personally hated the DRM system MS wanted to pull, but only because when I pay full price for a game, I want the choice to do as I like with it.

If I’m paying pennies to play a game for 12 months, it’s a different story. I’m a rational person and can see why I wont have access to the game if I don’t have PS+.

The free games are called INCENTIVES.

    • Lezlow

A year ago it was “I would never pay to play online”. Now its “If you can’t afford 5 dollars a month you shouldn’t be gaming.” Ah the blind sheep. Now defending their rental system. You do realize that mistakes happen too. Like my card expiring, or forgetting to pay which then would cause all those games to go away. Sounds like Sony really cares.

You can’t say that playing old games is not a big deal. Look at everyone making it a big deal that PS4 will eventually be able to stream all PS3 games. Damn, if your going to be a fanboy at least step up. Your making Sony look bad my man.

      • Brian David K. Lake

All games? You mean a select amount.

        • Lezlow

Ah yes, pick apart a small technicality to avoid the initial points brought up. I see what you did there. Nice try.

    • AfricanJedi

hey dude I can afford $5 a month but I dont like being shafted for it and robbed. Sorry if you of with that. Im tired of scams. MS dont support International countries so therefore where they sell their products its a scam

  • JaeeTV

Now THAT is a game im sure everyone would be very very very happy with.

    • Brian David K. Lake

      Ehhh..

  • JaeeTV

Guys don’t trust everything Microsoft says about the Xbox one. I’m not saying it won’t be great. But they tend to lie about features and performance of their consoles…

    • Ed

I wonder if the entire Xbox One interface will be plastered with advertisements at launch like the Xbox 360 is today. Maybe they’ll wait a few years like they did with the 360.

      • Brian David K. Lake

The homepage has been confirmed to be ad free. You’ve exaggerated the level of ads, “plastered” is wrong.

        • Ed

I’d say 2/3 of most screens in the “New Xbox Experience” are advertisments. Compare that to the PS3 where advertisements are confined to just a couple sections of the interface where you can go to the Playstation Store and to see “what’s new”.

          • Ed

Probably more like 75% of the interface is plastered with advertisements. I haven’t looked at it in a while because I’m too busy playing all the new Playstation Plus games I just got. Laters.

          • Brian David K. Lake

Juvenile comment that was unneeded I see.

To address it, you should understand that advertisements for other games are not considered intrusive advertisements. So let’s focus on things not for games. That’s about one add at the bottom right or straight right of each page. Oh the horror. I think it has been two ads a few times.

          • Ross

There is only 2 sections on the dash that advertise games btw Brian. The rest are all for TV, Movies, Music, and apps. So by your own technical standards you are wrong. ED is closer to the truth

          • Brian David K. Lake

False, in the movie section, related ads and trailers are not considered intrusive either.

          • Ross

What is considered intrusive is up to each individual. These are called opinions, and we are all entitled to our own. Personally Brian, I don’t have a problem with these other adds and I do not consider them intrusive either. However my previous statement was just factual. A person who bought an XBOX 360 soley for gaming could consider these adds intrusive, especially considering that the original dashboard had very little adds that were not related to games.

          • Lezlow

LOL. WOW. This is a perfect example of talking about something you know nothing about. There is maybe one tile on each page that advertises and none on the homepage. Most are gaming related and clearly marked. They blend in and cause no harm. I guess for people like me who, you know, play games instead of stairing at the dashboard dont really care about them. Hell most of them give free content. Get a life man. Advertising is in games and on both consoles and its not as obvious as you say. Quit trolling

          • Ed

Just because most of the tiles advertise products provided by Microsoft doesn’t mean they’re not advertisements.

          • Lezlow

            Streeeeeeeeeetch

        • AfricanJedi

confirmed by who? the guys who did a 180 on the DRM policy?

You gonna trust that. They cant even get the promotion running well?

          • Brian David K. Lake

Would you rather I trust a company that is selling all their long term assets, a sign of bankruptcy?

      • Geo

No doubt it will, in fact the NSA Spy Camera that ships with Xbox One will customize your Ad experience, if you sit down to game while drinking a bottle of mountain dew it will play a mountain dew Ad. The dashboard is going to be covered in Ads. Really pathetic that Gold subscribers get the exact same Ads as Silver Accounts.

    • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

Please, give us a break. Based on what. They have launch 2 successful console, they promise both were going to be cool, both were. of course when they discuss idea that are long term like the illumini room, it may never come out on that platform. but that is not a lie.

      • JaeeTV

        Microsoft gets no breaks.

      • JaeeTV

And you think just because they said both consoles were gonna be “cool” they get a break? Lmao FOH

        • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

i’m saying that there are more chance that xbox one will be cool because the two first console were well done and microsoft have the money power to handle good service, realiable server, and high security server and data protection. It is obvious that xbox one will be a great gaming console.

That being said, you are allowed to disagree, maybe you didn’t like xbox 360 or xbox, maybe you just bought them for no reason…

it doesn’t mean ps4 will suck, but will be good, only childish thinking can achieve a different conclusion

          • JaeeTV

Dude I’ve had an Xbox ever since the first halo. I’m just disappointed.

      • Dwight Power

Yeah! Poor little Microsoft! Leave them alone!

Since when did it become cool to defend one of the biggest, greediest, corniest corporations in the world? IT’S MICROSOFT FOR GOD’S SAKE!

        • Lezlow

There is a reason they are one of the richest corporations in the world. They make good quality products that are easy for people to use. Some flop others don’t. Either way I would rather support an American company than a failing Japanese one. First annual profit posted in 5 years and its because of the lower Yen, selling of American HQ, Selling of complex in Japan, and insurance claim from destroyed factory.

          • AfricanJedi

good quality LIKE Zune? Windows 7 Phone? Windows Vista? Xbone (failed before lauch)

          • Brian David K. Lake

The Xbox One hasn’t failed. The Windows Phone has a following but it was always aimed at a niche market. Vista worked fine for me, and people love 7. The Zune had a niche too. Why not do research before lying?

          • Lezlow

Like I said some flop some don’t. Also to say the X1 flopped before its even out just shows your mental maturity. Every company provides flops. Hence the Sony business model failing for the past 5 years.

  • Ross

If you think Brian Lake is an annoying Microsoft Employee give a thumbs up

    • Geo

Brian is a typical fanboy and a complete douchebag. He and Don Mattrick would get on like a house on fire.

      • Brian David K. Lake

While I’d have a cigar with him, the point is immaterial. You just used a term only a teenager or someone as immature as one would use.

        • Geo

Well I know one thing you would put in your mouth, Don’s cigar if you know what I mean.

          • Lezlow

Real mature. Internet diss. I bet you feel so good about yourself.

          • Brian David K. Lake

It wasn’t an insult, it was an observation of reality.

          • Brian David K. Lake

Yeah you’re crazy then. Only the guy using douche was that.

    • Nun Ja

No, he’s a puzzled xbox fan who doesn’t relate to anyone who isn’t %100 behind the xbox 180

      • Brian David K. Lake

Illogical statement, especially in the face of you being proven to be quite… Absurd in your thoughts.

    • Brian David K. Lake

      I see you trolling…

      • AfricanJedi

        • Brian David K. Lake

            doctor

          • Brian David K. Lake

Unlikely, you wouldn’t have time to complain on here, and you’d have an income that makes free things unimportant to you.

          • AfricanJedi

took to the boards after I got pissed off. BTW Im a doctor in a 3rd world country, I don’t earn as well as a doctor in the states. I can easily reply cos of disqus.

Like I said stop working for MS. get a real job

          • Brian David K. Lake

No, your behavior doesnt show much of a person who reads a lot and you seem uneducated.

          • AfricanJedi

sure man …. you can be happy with a second rate service

  • Sledg

Nice to see ACII as the next free game on the 16th.

    • AfricanJedi

A game most of us own…nice

  • Goof Juice

    You lose? Really? Grow up.

  • Brian

unable to get this game through the site. The original link brings up an error code page. If you try and download to your 360 through the regular site page for DG, it says “oops and error has occurred”

  • Stickboyski

Should I be shocked that this crappy promotion is busted along with the rest of the XBOX Live web site?

    • AfricanJedi

You probable in a non US country that was lied to about the promotion.

  • Guest

Damn. If only you had another thirteen days left to download it. Ah, well, better to give up immediately.

  • Dwight Power

Brian David K. LakeTalking about subjective? When you take your biased opinion as fact? Haha.

If anything one of the strongest things about Sony is their first party titles! The gaming community as a whole is in agreement with this! Repetition? If anything Sony has more variety in their first party titles than anyone else!

Killzone, Infamous, Journey, Little Big Planet, Motorstorm, Heavy Metal, Uncharted, The Last of Us, Heavenly Sword, The Puppeteer, Starhawk, Papo & Yo, Flower, Gravity Rush, Resistance, Jak & Daxter, PS All Stars, Mod Nation Racers, Beyond Two Souls, Rain, Ratchet & Clank, MLB The Show, Wipeout, God Of War, MGS4, Sly Cooper, The Unfinished Swan!

And that’s just scratching the SURFACE!

    • Brian David K. Lake

Exclude all independents because theory are a niche market.

80% of the games you mentioned are average or below. Do you do analysis or look at common concerns before posting, or just misrepresent and lie. No one should mention things like Kill zone with a straight face. Truly pitiful game that was.

In its infancy and yet 7 years later, still has the same problems. Not encouraging.

      • Ed

Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 are rated 91/100 and 84/100 on Metacritic. Not too shabby.

        • Brian David K. Lake

Your ignorance never ceases to amaze. Why don’t you play the single player. I’ll wait until you get back.

The truly sad thing is that you went by metacritic rather than looking at the individual reviews and seeing how everyone has the same issues. These days reviews were misleading, if the ,multiplayer isn’t full of bugs, it gets a good grade even if the campaign is garbage.

          • AfricanJedi

how much is MS paying you to talk trash? PS Plus offers more triple AAA titles for free and better specials.

Only reason I bought Xbox this gen was becos of the multiplayer but that advantage gone now with pS4 and xbone

          • Dwight Power

            It hurts doesn’t it?

It’s hilarious how you take your own personal hatred of a system to turn your womanly feelings into facts.

“So what if it got a 91, which is above average and puts it in the top 5% of games?! That doesn’t mean anything!”

You’re the only one in the world that thinks the 360 has a stronger line up.

You probably don’t even recognize half of those games I listed.

          • Brian David K. Lake

Excuse me. Did you read the reviews? See how they mark the so as atrocious but give the mp the high rating? Did you look at the disparity of grade? Or are you just trolling?

          • Dwight Power

You’re babbling dude. Show me one review that says it’s “atrocious”. Apparently in your world a 91% = an atrocious game.

So Master Chief, Marcus Fenix and Forza it is.

            You have no argument.

You are the only one in the world that thinks the 360 has the upper hand in exclusives.

And you fail to list a 360 exclusive you’re looking forward to. I can list three. Beyond Two Souls, The Puppeteer, Rain.

And that’s after playing GOTY candidate TLOU a few weeks ago.

          • Brian David K. Lake

Okay, that’s it. You’re just a troll. I told you how to find the real consensus and disparity of reviews for games with a mp mode and you ignored it. You made a post without research, and you still clearly didn’t read 10 or 15 real reviews or even 5 fully. You’re a liar, a schemer and you’re reported for trolling. The vast majority of everything you say flies in the face of reality.

            Ignoring you now.

            PS.

Quantum Break, Project Spark, Halo, and Black Tusk.

          • Dwight Power

I’ll reply to you in the same ignorant way. “Halo sucks! It’s just another sci-fi shooter! Gears sucks, it’s just another sci-fi shooter! Fable sucks! It under delivered in every possible way!”

If Xbox were to have a game like Smash Bros or PS All Stars it would consist of Master Chief, Marcus Fenix and a Forza car.

          • Ross

Again with the ignorance Brian. This says a lot about your character friend

          • Brian David K. Lake

You might want to read a dictionary some day.

          • Ross

lol.. so petty. Would you care to give me some specifics. The only people that will sit down and read the entire dictionary are people who have nothing better to do in their lives. You are not one of those people are you Brian? And I fail to see the relevance of your comment to the topic of this discussion

          • Brian David K. Lake

That’s actually not true. The relevance is that if you can’t define a situation correctly, and worse, if you’re skewing and misrepresenting info just to make you look better, then you’re incompetent, a liar, and a troublemaker.

          • Ross

You are aware that dictionary defines words right? Situations cannot be defined in a dictionary. I don’t quite know where your going with this Brian. I just feel like you are insulting me without basis (skewing and misrepresenting what exactly). I won’t deny to being a troublemaker on occasion, but I don’t know where you get incompetent and liar based on this comment “Again with the ignorance Brian. This says a lot about your character friend”

    • Does Not Equal

      That’s great.

  • Xbone180

@xboxkid510 Two games per month, actually! The two games just starts next month with Halo 3 and Assassin’s Creed 2. ^BB

    Xbox Support @XboxSupport3

So looks like Xbox Support and OXM was half right.

    • AfricanJedi

ie we were lied to by MS

      • Brian David K. Lake

No you weren’t, you apparently have a hearing problem though. Go look at the conference video again. The words were not what you assume.

      • Ross

May have not been a blatant lie. But it felt pretty misleading. Based on the examples given I thought that all of the free games were going to be 360 games. 1st one is an arcade game. I would not be suprised if halo 3 and AC2 are the only 360 games they release for free

  • John Lowe

Thanks forthat info. Is that hard to do? Can i do that with an existing profile out do i have to create a new one

  • Guest

I received Saints Row 3 and Battlefield 3 from the PSN. Microsoft don’t step to the plate to compete with Sony, if all you’re going to do is strike out. PSN has given up games which has been out for a year. We’re getting Assassin Creed 2 on the 16th, received Defense Grid on the 1st – PATHETIC!

    • Lezlow

      Cool story bro.

  • Brian David K. Lake

The reason was two parts. First, the security and anti piracy measure. The second was the family share and licensing necessity.

  • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

for some reason, i just realised that xbox live as cost me probable 400$ so far without all my purschase… so i guess i kinda diserve free game lol

    • Brian David K. Lake

Does your internet provider give you anything free?

      • chanandler

Mine doesn’t, but what it does do is provide the service that I want!

        • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

it allow me to run my own business too. can you imagine that. internet is not just about facebook lol

  • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

Julia juliaaaa juliaaaaaaaaaa. You are only ask to connect once with your xbox. Then, just don’t buy any amazing game that require the cloud. So no titanfall, no forza, no division etc. Those game were done with cloud in mind, they need it. If you don’t want to play those and you prefer, let say, plant vs zombie, you are ok… but, you will still need internet to actually download the game. Anyway. But i guess you have internet since you are here… so i don’t get it, sorry.

Oh, and for your record, I own a dog a house and 2 car, All hard earn, so calling me a kid because we don’t agree, only display your lack of argument and low brain activity…

if internet doesn’t fit in your budget you have to make choice in life. I’de rather not buy beer or wine and keep my internet. It’s easy to find 50$ in your current budget by cutting meaningless stuff. You can ask your parent for advice or close friend maybe. I’m only saying that buying a 500$ TOY is a hell of luxury, so it’s definitely not intended for people that are low on budget for TOY.

  • OutlawGamer

    Well said. ;)

  • Brian David K. Lake

Clearly a free offer nor yet being available is more important than mainstream game library.

    • AfricanJedi

Dude they should make the offer the same in all regions not shaft customers from another country just because they from another country. This means MS making no effort to support its international customers who are paying for a service

      • Brian David K. Lake

Games with Gold is available in the following countries and regions: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States.

        • AfricanJedi

yet they fail to mention that the game wont be available in that country. Dude if you work for ms u jus another dumb rep. Seriously I’m from South africa and am on south african live. Games with gold is not available.

people these days with no common sense. The advert is a lie. The game is not available in South Africa.

Don t stress I’ve decided to abandon Xbox 360 and xbone. Next console ps4.

I have no plans to move to uk or us so xbone wont work for me

          • Brian David K. Lake

Why don’t you humor me. Call Xbox Live support. Surely you’re not making assumptions of lies before having said info confirmed by support? That would be ignorant.

          • AfricanJedi

lol, I phoned them and confirmed the problem. Whats wrong with you. My first post said that i phoned them and they confirmed it that the offer is not valid in other countries even if advertised as such.

That’s the problem : customers in other countries are given the finger and treated like second rate citizens by microsoft. Tired of it.

Guy on call center told me its microsoft policy and they can do whatever they want.

Look forget it: Microsoft has proven once again that they dont care about other territories so as far as I’m concerned I’m gonna ignore the xbone entirely and just get a PS4.

NB this coming from a customer who has a xbox 360 and no PS3 and who has purchassed most games for my 360.

          • Brian David K. Lake

You got a free game, just not the same. I don’t see an issue.

          • AfricanJedi

Thats what makes me think you work for MS. A very short sighted foolish stuckup opinion. With very little regard for the real issue :

            ie LIEing in advertising.
            ie Misleading its PAYING customers.
            IE building mistrust

your comment smells of the DRM debarcle where some MS nut said (think DOn MAttick) hey if you got no internet DEAL with it.

Hell yeah I’ll deal with Sony. cant talk to you bro. you too foolish

          • Ross

Don Mattick is leaving Microsoft now if it makes you feel any better lol (he has taken a ton of flak for this stuff)

          • Brian David K. Lake

            Ballmer is the issue.

          • Brian David K. Lake

Well first, Don wasn’t the one that said that. This leads to your main issue–you skew reality. They said you would get two games a month. You are getting that. They indicated these games could be changed and they reserve the right to do so. They also said it could be a Kinect game or Arcade game. The problem you is you’re the one lying. As a person with knowledge in business I can tell you they aren’t lying in their advertising and all stipulations are quite clear. You say they are misleading, but they’ve made things clear. You say they are building mistrust, but the only one lying is you. And I still don’t believe you’re a doctor. You don’t come across as educated.

          • Ross

comments like that last one do not help you make your point Brian. They make you seem petty and childish. For whom do you work Brian? I am curious about your background in business.

          • Brian David K. Lake

Um Ross, do you know what any words actually mean? I’ve yet to see you use a single classification correctly. Try opening a dictionary, they don’t mean what you seem to want them to mean. I mean really? Petty and Childish? For being honest? Sigh.

          • Ross

not for being honest Brian, but for being insulting lol. I made that very clear. You are entitled to your opinion and if you choose to call someone ignorant or say that they are uneducated that is your choice. I just was trying to improve your social skills. When two children get into an argument often it turns to nasty insults. This is what I was referring to about your comments: hence “Childish.” Rational adults should be able to avoid such comments. On another note you still never answered my question about your employment Brian.

          • Ross

Not for being honest, but for being insulting. You are entitled to your opinion but when you choose to insult others who do not share it by calling them ignorant or uneducated it functions to make you look childish. This is what I mean by “childish”: When two children get into an argument it will often turns to insults. This is what I have been seeing here Brian. In stead of discussing the issue like rational adults you have chosen to insult me and nearly everyone else in this forum.
This aside, you still have not answered my question about your place of employment.

          • Ross

I feel your frustrations Jedi. Some people however are so biased that they cannot understand why loyal Microsoft supporters might decide to withdraw that support Microsoft because there is no possible way that it could be Microsoft’s fault for this.

          • AfricanJedi

And thats the issue: I was a loyal MS/Xbox supporter till they told me to go F myself with the DRM just because I dont have always on internet (Im a doctor in a 3rd world country). I ignored the PS3 because I was happy with the way xbox 360 worked.

However MS let me down too much as a customer now. I see my friends reaping the benefits of the PSN experience and here I am getting shafted. Glad to see other people see it the same way

          • Ross

On the plus side, MS changed directions on the DRM so you can now play offline. And I would like to just give you Props for what you are doing in Africa.

          • AfricanJedi

yeah but this is what worries me:

I come home from along day of work I login to play some cod and suddenly there’s an update…and suddenly I have to be permanently online to use the damn thing… I call support and they tell me to DEAL with it.

Thats a real possibility with these MS fools who dont realize that its us customers who made them the biggest console this gen.

Dude thanks for the respect. If only MS did the same for PAYING customers.

        • Ross

It should be available to anybody with a Gold membership. hence games with “GOLD”.

  • chanandler

This is just sad, ‘Defense Grid’ and ‘Assassins Creed 2′…. wow well thats me set for my gaming needs this month! Seriously though, are they doing this on purpose do you think? I’ve already cancelled by 10 year + Live sub, won’t be buying a One and can’t even be bothered to download these ‘free’ games, it’s as if they want to alienate their core gaming customers!

    • AfricanJedi

I feel exactly the same way.

      The 2 reasons I got a xbox 360?

      1. supperior online fiends system
      2. the controller

but with ps4 thats solved and there will be 3rd part controllers for ps4 that feel like the 360 one.

      • Dwight Power

Plus according to everyone that has used the Dualshock 3, they say it’s a massive improvement.

        • Lezlow

Ya since a screen in the middle changes how the controller holds in your hand.

          • Dwight Power

I didn’t give you permission to join the convo. Shush.

          • Lezlow

Haha are you talking to yourself :D I did read up on it. There are slight changes but the controller is just uncomfortable to hold. Of course this is my personal opinion. I just don’t see many drastic changes between either controller. Just tweaks.

          • Dwight Power

If you think that’s the only thing that changed, you are ignorant to the topic so please read up first.

        • AfricanJedi

yes I agree however I’ve always liked the 360 size and also the position of the sticks. A friend of mine liked them so much he bought custom ones for his PS3

  • AfricanJedi

agreed. best way to teach them a lesson is with our money, they gonna really feel it next gen

    • Brian David K. Lake

Again, Microsoft offers different services and people really like said services. Don’t expect them to copy what others do just because you want them too.

  • Brian David K. Lake

Perhaps you should review the actual announcement and see what they really said.

  • Juan Herrera

I’ve heard from different sources that AC2 is the next free game for this month starting on the 16th.. just thought people might wanna know and keep an eye out in case

  • AfricanJedi

u are a liar major nelson.

Sparking debate here. Why not state the games not available in all countries.

    • Brian David K. Lake

Did you call Xbox Support? Or just making assumptions?

      • AfricanJedi

Called them an confirmed that even though advertised in South Africa the offer is not valid in South Africa and basically told to deal with it. We got offered some kinect joy ride game. I don’t even own a kinect????

My post will probable get deleted by Major Nelson and quite frankly wouldnt blame him as He has to protect his companies reputation from the truth.

This is not the first time other territories have been left high and dry and lied too.

I just feel that nearing the new console releases it should be made known why xbox LIVE is failing the NON-US territories. False advertising

        • Brian David K. Lake

Seeing how they never indicated which region gets what, they didn’t lie. You got offered a game. It isn’t failing.

          • AfricanJedi

By not mentioning the region they imply that its across the entire service.

          • Brian David K. Lake

They put the actual policy details their site quite clearly.

          • Ross

Even if they tell a distinct lie Brian. It is still a douche thing to do. Your morality compass is pretty haywire if you do not see any problem with this situation

          • Brian David K. Lake

It isn’t a distinct lie, because it isn’t a lie. You always find that the liars are the ones who apparently can’t tell what the definition of a lie is.

          • Ross

Forgive me Brian, I forgot the word “didn’t”. It has since been corrected

  • Ross

Oh Brian. You know someone is getting frustrated when they start throwing out the insults. If we have reached this point then there is no point in arguing with me anymore. I could never hope to argue with a 10 year XBL veteran. I hope you have a good life with your xbox one Brian. May it bring you peace and joy in life

  • Vonrikke

Tf2 is free on steam, don’t buy the orange box for it

    • Ross

      thanks for the heads up

  • Vonrikke

Xbox ones hardware is soft and squishy compared to the ps4s. Check the hardware comparison on anandtech

    • Brian David K. Lake

Why don’t you read it all before posting with poorly understood indications.

      • Dwight Power

        Hi :) Like my avatar?

By the way, you’re hideous, skinny, awkward and totally uncool looking in general.

        • Brian David K. Lake

Reported again. Still don’t care what a troll says, and I’ll be sure to tell the woman that I’m ugly. I’m an 8 though, and I’m not skinny lol. Go look up the word.

          • Dwight Power

Sure buddy. My avatar says otherwise.

            Hideous = You

            You = Hideous

          • Brian David K. Lake

Are you 14? Post your picture. I’ll do an image scan to make certain it didn’t originate from a public domain. You must just be jealous I look good in a suit. The wife liked it.

          • Dwight Power

Aaww had to report the comment.

You look like a skeleton in a suit. Suits are supposed to compliment a man, yet you look like you’re floating inside of it.

Your wife is very unlucky. I’m sure she’s proud of her hubby sucking MS phallus.

    • Vonrikke

Just go to anandtech and search Xbox, the Xbox one has 768 GPU cores to the PS4s 1152 GPU cores. The PS4 has around 30% more GPU power, that is a fact, deny all you want fanboi

  • InfernoShade

Wow, this site is filled with total tools.

    • AfricanJedi

welcome, wait till you meet Brian Lake

  • Xbone180

@xboxkid510 Two games per month, actually! The two games just starts next month with Halo 3 and Assassin’s Creed 2. ^BB

    Xbox Support @XboxSupport3

So on 16th we will get AC2. I sent them a tweet (I unfollow them because of wrong info, had to follow again) asking about Halo 3 date. I bet who ever ^BB is no longer working on Xbox Support.

    OXM was no help.
