Events By Larry Hryb, Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson

  • roozbeh

First comment two times in a row. Major are you in my time zone?

    • ElektroDragon

He’s on Pacific time. Doesn’t take a genius to figure that out. I could take a nice 15 minute drive and chat with him in person, if I had the connections. :)

      • roozbeh

He is in Russia. Read his tweets. Im a few 100 miles south in iran.

  • HyperTallih

    second comment. @disqus_UJXJvuYzH3:disqus

    • roozbeh

      :)

  • ungeheier

I really wish Comic Con had actual Comic Books at it. = Its become such a mess.

  • Nick Peck

I’d love to go to things like this but sadly I’m on the other side of the country lol. Have fun for those going.

  • avi

can’t wait for some xbox stuff. and the movies, of course.

    • BlinkFandango

I just want to know why Gears Judgment on the Marketplace went from $40 (before the sale) up to $60. What a joke.

      • pulseimpact

        Sale:
        4
: a selling of goods at bargain prices

You know once the sale ends then those bargain prices do, too.

        • KesMonkey

How very smartass of you. Read his comment again. You might understand it this time.

        • BlinkFandango

It was $40 BEFORE the sale, the sale price was $30 and now it is $60. I guess you guys don’t mind being screwed over though.

    • Jason Voorhees

Always better than VGChartz Adinnieken ;).

  • EnyOne

Are these events going to be live streamed somewhere? or recorded and posted?

  • ElektroDragon

“Come join games and pop culture experts to discuss how zombies have invaded our lives through every avenue of entertainment.”

What a polite way to basically say ZOMBIE FAD. Zombies are the new plastic instruments, folks! Except less original.

Where the hell is my dragon fad? But in all seriousness, we REALLY need more original monsters. Hopefully Bethesda can deliver some with their new IP.

    • dem0n0cracy

We need electric dragons in a Tron world.

  • http://raptr.com/unscleric/about UNSCleric

The Klobb himself is going to be there! I wish I could go so bad. I left Minnesota for only the second time in my life this past March and spent just over two days in San Diego and it was such an amazing city, especially compared to Minnesota.

  • gawdland1

Major Nelson this offtopic but there should be a Xbox One version without the kinect

    Xbox One without Kinect $399
Xbox One with Kinect with free game via download $499

not everyone want a Kinect come with the Xbox. Xbox One do look promising but right now I am leaning until PS4 until Microsoft figure out something

    • Vonrikke

The original ryse son of rome trailer from E3 2011 showed a kinect controlled hack and slash, look it up. Then e3 2013 came, and ms didnt show any kinect games and ryse has been changed to an over scripted non kinect game, yet they want to force a kinect down our throats, with no reason to want one. Ohhhh i can use my hands to change modes. Francy.

      • Vonrikke

At least the ps4’s touch pad will be useful for something.. useless kinect.. lame false advertising

        • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

i think the most valuable feature it can bring is vocal recognition, but than again, a simple microphone can do that… kinect seems to be more embeded and media focus this time. beside training biometric function and dancing being more precise (it still doesnt make me dance good) we havent been shown nothing significant so far

        • roozbeh

What use? Its a gimmick just like the kinect.

      • Nick Peck

Or they have 2+ more shows to show off plenty of other things like they have already stated lol. Man people like you “look and sound” so stupid because you don’t bother to learn or read up on anything before typing.

They held off on kinect at E3 for a few reasons and will be showing more of what it can do and what it will have in the coming months.

      • gamer04

They did show kinect sports rivals which I’m excited for

    • Does Not Equal

      That’s fascinating.

    • John

It is off topic, but I do agree with you. Especially with all this ever expanding PRISM debacle, a camera like Kinect should be an opt-in choice for consumers (or at least be able to be diconnected from the console). It would also be a possibility for Microsoft to uncercut Sony in price if they do make SKU’s without Kinect, skewing the playing field in their favor.

      • Maurice Wilburn

I’ll keep saying it shipping Kinect with the One is one of MS’s best decisions, with developers knowing the tech is there developers will make better use of the technology. If MS had decided to ship Kinect separately fewer developers would make use of it and in effect people would be less likely to buy it. It’s a matter of price vs innovation and I for one prefer innovation.

        • John

From a developer standpoint you are correct, but from a consumer standpoint you are not. If Microsoft can’t make clear why including Kinect is better for the consumer at a higher pricepoint than the competition, including it will only hurt the Xbox One, especially with the PRISM debacle.
They still have a few tradeshows to show all that Kinect does and will be able to do, but at E3 very few games used Kinect and not in a way that would sell the system. This coming from someone who has already preordered the current Xbox One SKU.

          • Maurice Wilburn

Fair point, as of right now the only 2 games utilizing Kinect are Kinect Rivals and Fantasia, but I believe it to be one of those things that will payoff in the long run, thatgamecompany has even expressed interest in utilizing Kinect. For right now though I think the seamless switching, Skyping and voice chat features are pretty cool and Kinect Rivals and Fantasia look pretty fun. There are still 2 big game shows before the console’s release, so hopefully they’ll change some minds.

          • Dave

            Witcher uses it as well.

And Ryse lets you use it to command troops if you wish.

          • Nick Peck

I’m sure they heard the “feedback” in people hoping that E3 wouldn’t be a full on “Kinect Show” so they held off on the Kinect then and will show more of it later on. There are still several more shows before the system comes out.

They still have more games and new ip’s to announce along with showing us what they have in store for the new kinect.

        • Volitar Prime

Most developers who makes multi-platform games aren’t going to bother with it. They have no real incentive to spend resources adding support for it for only one of the platforms they are developing for.

          • Maurice Wilburn

Not necessarily, Insomniac and Respawn, are making games exclusively for the One; BF4 will to some degree have some Kinect functionality and thatgamecompany has expressed interest in taking advantage of the Kinect functionality as well, none of those are first party developers, if the tech interest developers and there’s enough of an install base it could really take off.

          • Dave

            Bethesda did.
            And so has CD project,

          • beardyman3218

So has dice, bf4 is gonna incorporate kinect.

      • Nick Peck

PRISM… who cares, so what is MS has military contracts, did people not know this? Sony has military contracts too in thier homeland and probably support stuff JUST like PRISM but the public doesn’t know it.

It’s no surprise and honestly I could care less. It’s a camera for a video game system, big deal people. Don’t plug your system into the internet and you have nothing to worry about.

There is no point in making another skew as that will defeat the purpose of not everyone having one to entice developers to make stuff for it. 50 million systems sold, 50 million kinects sold = 100% “adoption rate” is what deves want to hear. They DON’T want to see 50 million systems sold, 5 millions kinects sold because then the money they spend on projects won’t see a return as big.

So far it looks like you are getting a 1yr XBLG in the box along with at least $30 in game DLC (4 games worth to be exact) when you buy the system so the extra $100 isn’t that big of a deal.

      • Pete

        Just playing devils advocate …

Do you have a Smartphone? Apparently over 1 billion people now do! Does it go everywhere with you? Do you sleep with it next to your bed? Does it have a microphone, camera (usually 2) and a permanent connection to the internet?

I think Kinect is the least of our worries :-)

        • Jason Voorhees

Having a smartphone is still a choice and not a coupled transaction. People can always choose to buy an ordinary phone if they want to. The Kinect is still a separate physical object from the Xbox One console.
That said, I have no problems with being monitored as I have nothing to hide, but if you look around on the internet and on the TV, I get the feeling I’m in the minority here.

        • pulseimpact

          1) I don’t have a smartphone. 2) Smartphone isn’t nearly as powerful as kinect. 3) Microsoft has a recent history of selling out our privacy. 4) Two wrongs = right? I think you’ve heard this saying before and already know the answer.

          • roozbeh

You know you are part of a minority if you dont have a smartphone right?

        • Retroact1ve

Which is why there are companies that do not allow cell phones into classified areas. Also remotely hacking a cell to stream it’s video is vastly different than hacking a pc over the net.

    • Lucas Sanches Cestari

microsoft wants to make sure that everyone that own a xbox one will have a kinect, so the games on xbox one will have some extra features because of the kinect. soooo. i don’t think they will remove that… maybe in the future…

      • xjumper

Not every Xbox Fan wants a Kinect for gods sake. Some of you kids need to accept that.
I will get a PS4 this year. Maybe a Xbone next year if they dropped kinect.

        • Lucas Sanches Cestari

i have nothing to say for you,by your comment you never owned a kinect! go buy the ps4 then… no one is blocking you =)

      • pulseimpact

Yet, there is no launch title designed for it? Microsoft had years to develop Ryse and should have developed it with kinect as they were both evolving. If microsoft can’t develope a game for it themselves then how and why should third party waste their time with it? Even if a small portion of gamers use it, that does not justify making it forced to everyone. It’s $100 and frankly that’s kind of a lot of money for something most of us will never use.

It’s a gimmick that most hardcore gamers don’t want. Even so called microsoft fanboys don’t really like it. It’s both casual and niche which is why people don’t want to use it. Even the most successful kinect games like Just Dance are no where to be found on the live activity charts. Kinect Adventures is the most sold 360 game of 2013 yet hardly anyone plays it. Microsoft wants the guaranteed money and hope that they can sell a couple gimmick games along with it.

        • roozbeh

They have yet to prove themselves but until then your right. I dont necessarily want kinect necessary games just really cool gameplay features would be nice.

        • Lucas Sanches Cestari

trust me, if they are giving 1 kinect with each xbox one it’s because they will make a good use of it, we will see when the console is released =) at least i will see ‘-‘

    • roozbeh

Wait a sec. There is a free game included?

  • Vonrikke

Check out xboxonevspsfour dot com. Theres a good reasons why ms is getting shellacked so hard

    • Vonrikke

Did you guys see where major nelson tells that guy they cant change the xbox from being online and stuff because its to hard to change it. Then two days later they changed it

      • Vonrikke

what is also funny, is that you cant say his name on here, or your comment is instantly moderated a n g r y j o e hahaha little bit touchy microsoft?

        • Slumdog

          lmfao omg that so funny

        • Slumdog

          PS4..?

        • Maurice Wilburn

Becasue Major Nelson is obviously the head honcho of Microsoft and all decisions go through him, really dude grow up.

          • Vonrikke

He is totally a pawn, but the pawns behavior is indicative of ms inner workings. like lying to customers, telling them what ever will be in ms best interest, true or not

    • Tom

You need to get banned. All you do is troll and talk smack. Please, get a life.

      • Vonrikke

Maybe you should take your own advice, since you are so up to date on what i’m doing minute to minute

    • Guest

Awww, how cute. Another $0ny PauperStation N4Gtard that can’t afford gaming as a hobby and needs to justify his own poor self esteem

      • Retroact1ve

Aww how cute another pro ms person spouting poor jokes. What’s with the Microsoft people joking about the poor and rape so much?

  • Tomo

Off-topic but does the Xbox One include a headset? I thought it didn’t initially but have read tonnes of reports that Microsoft is now including a headset. Can someone clarify?

    • Does Not Equal

I can clarify that you need a pass to attend the events and panels above.

    • Richard

I was sent a link to what comes with the xbox one and theres noheadset. As kinnect can do in gAme chat

  • Justin Weston

Wasn’t Dishonored supposed to be on sale for $5.00 today?

    • Does Not Equal

The convention hasn’t even started yet.

  • roozbeh

    Off topic.
Gentleman place your bets. Who is gonna replace mattrick?

    • roozbeh

Its official its Julie larson green. A chick running xbox. Sigh
      Still better than mattrick though

  • useruser

    off topic.

no arcade game this week? what gives?

  • Please Clarify

Why is Microsoft cheating their own customer with the switch from MS points to real currency?

“I then notice things that were previously 1200 Microsoft points which
is purchasable for £9.99 here in the UK are now costing £11.99.”

“I then decided to buy 1200 Microsoft points to see if, to Microsoft,
that was worth £11.99, My balance has only increased by £9.99″

    Source: www reddit com/r/Games/comments/1hybfi/change_from_microsoft_points_to_real_currency/

To me that does not seem even legal.

    • roozbeh

U know why? Cause most people couldn’t understand ms points. There was massive amounts of hate against it.

    • Jason Voorhees

      People didn’t want MSP anymore.
Now they will have to deal with local exchange rates, tax and transaction fees.
      People got their wish.
I actually gained money here in the Netherlands and I can confirm a few friends around the globe had the same. The Pound Sterling in the UK has been going down in value for quite some time now and that explains why the UK is getting higher prices.
Once MSP is no longer accepted on XBL, I’m sure MS will rectify pricing accross countries to make them seem the same to people that don’t understand finance.

    • Joshua Guss

So, you still have to use money to buy the MS points. So why waste time to go buy the MS points, why you can just buy what you want!?

  • Lord Fattieman

Major, where would you be at besides the Xbox One panel that I can say hello to you?

  • Vonrikke

Haha ms won’t let you type a n g r y j o e on this blog because he owed major Nelson so hard. Some ones touchy

    • Does Not Equal

It will, however, let you post the same thing over and over on every single one of these blog updates, as you’ve proven.

  • Jared

anyone got the beta i id my msp is now $25.52CAD can you buy MSP Still

    • Does Not Equal

      I don’t get the joke.

      • Jared

DO You Have the Beta from xbox no more MSP Real $ Now

        • pulseimpact

Yes. Microsoft points are phasing out.

      • Jason Voorhees

I think he asked a question there. If he would still be able to buy points and redeem them…I hazard a guess.
The answer is yes. In Canada the exchange is favorable, so you gain money from redeeming MSP.

        • Jared

          Think You Sir

  • boe2

Well, thanks for letting us know.

  • Vonrikke

Where’s the Kinect games at? You make kinect mandatory with Xbox one, but you don’t show any games for motion controls at e3? Why should I pay $100 more for nothing? Ryse only uses the kinect for voice control? Shouldn’t there be a Zombie U kind of game for the kinect at least? Even original wii at launch, most games were motion control….

    • Volitar Prime

The KInect is for navigating the system menus and for voice and gesture controls while watching TV and/or streaming media.

      • Vonrikke

So its just a remote? Lame

        • Guest

          GFY PAUPER!

          • Not_A_PC_Gamer

What on god’s green earth is a “Pauper”?

          • roozbeh

            pau·per
            /ˈpôpər/

            Noun
            A very poor person.
A recipient of government relief or public charity.Synonyms
            beggar – mendicant

          • Not_A_PC_Gamer

Thanks Roozbeh, I know I could have easily looked it up but I thought it was slang. So basically he thinks I’m poor? Why because I don’t want to buy an xbox one? Anyhow it doesn’t matter what he thinks.

          • roozbeh

i think it was in reply to vonrikke not you.
plus i dont get the being poor part of the insult.
poor people are cool. i have a deep respect for them.

          • Guest

PauperStation fans are poor by default. Dealwithit pauper.

          • Not_A_PC_Gamer

So let me get this straight.. what side are you on here moron? I cant tell if you are pro PS or pro xbox by all of your contradicting comments. With all due respect, Xbox gamers are usually more rich than PS3 gamers.

          • roozbeh

we have many people that are guests so he might actually be as contradicting as you think.

second part is quite murky. you can ask the nsa on that one.

          • fsdfg dsfds

HEy dude, guess whos making Season 8??? The trailer park boys are coming BACK!!! they brought up all the rights and there another movie coming also!!! Did you know the Mustard Tiger died also :( he will make an appearance in the 3rd movie tho

            So awesome news

      • http://soundcloud.com/ViRUSfromMARS Jaffa Cake King

        http://www guardian co uk/world/2013/jul/11/microsoft-nsa-collaboration-user-data

And maybe Kinect will be used for these purposes too.

        • MrRadiolips

I really dont know if most the people on this site are open minded or wise enough to actually believe the truth that happens to stare at them in the face. Im with you Jaffa.

          • roozbeh

The world is open minded then. Because no cares about FISA. I know this is a complete violation of human rights but people always had a negetive view of ms and their using this against them.

          • MrRadiolips

You may be proving my point even more.

          • roozbeh

sad isnt it. privacy has died. either we live paranoid or get on. sony isnt an angel in terms of privacy.
you guys got it lucky. your nothing of interest to the us government so you have no real privacy concern. i on the other hand am screwed. being an iranian doesnt help in the virtual world.

        • Xboner2013

Its nice that MS shows people how to break their encryption. Next, MS shows how to hack someone’s kinect. Who in their right mind would trust this company?

        • roozbeh

Until prism exist that will happen. Whats funny for me is people just started to notice. FISA exist way before and no one complained. Thats when I knew the world doesnt care.

        • Sledg

You are all posting on a message board and you complain about privacy. Seriously! You above all should know better to complain about something like this and then have the nerve to think it’s isolated to MS. So the only thing this clarifies id that you do not like MS and will do anything to bash them. It’s very obvious!

BTW, how’s your facebook account, your twitter account, or any other account on the internet you use? How about the cameras watching you on the streets, or fill your car with gas, or banking, or …

          • MrRadiolips

So much different than putting a camera that is required to be on all the time in your house.

          • Sledg

            “Required to be on”?

Really? You know this first hand because you currently have one and know exactly how the Kinect settings work? I didn’t think so.

And if you own a smartphone, you turn it off every time you’re in your home? I didn’t think so either.

People love to be paranoid or they love to hate. Either way, I can’t imagine living like that.

          • roozbeh

Its not paranoia. If sony did it it would be called innovation. Its just plain ms hating.
Either way we have obama to blame for this entire privacy bs.

          • MrRadiolips

This is a camera in your house pointing at the most used spot in your house. Why isnt the world waking up. Lemmings.

          • Sledg

Your paranoia is tiring! Throw a towel over it when you don’t use it. Geez!

          • MrRadiolips

How is it paranoia when i research about the American government and the modern tactics to keep tabs on the people of the WORLD.

          • Sledg

Where are you researching? The internet? Do you believe half the garbage that is on the internet?

I’m sure the gov’t could care less about what you are doing unless you plan on building a bomb and killing innocent people.

          • MrRadiolips

“You have to understand most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inert, so hopelessly dependent on the system that they will fight to protect it”

          • Sledg

            You’re quoting The Matrix? Seriously!

          • MrRadiolips

Yes seriously. Not everyone is as blind as you…but almost everyone. If you truly live life like its just rainbows and lollipops it will bite. Just as history proves. Im proud to be one of the few who actually pays attention.

          • MrRadiolips

Now im going to sit in front of my T.V. drink a beer and roll a fat one in the PRIVACY of my own home with out anyone bothering me!!

          • Sledg

LOL! I’m not blind and neither is the other 99.9% you claim are. We aren’t paranoid like you and Jaffa!

Kinect is the last of your worries but you keep stating it is because it was created by MS. Both of you need to admit that you just like bashing on MS and troll due to it.

          • MrRadiolips

I do not want a camera that is not controlled by me in my house where i sleep, eat and play with my children. You are blind. The definition of it.

          • Sledg

I’m sorry you don’t know how to control a device that’s in your house and attached to your network. Do you make your kids sleep outside when you can’t control them?

Seriously though, Kinect is not going to watch you unless you want it to.

          • MrRadiolips

You have way too much trust for big corp. Plus my kids dont report my actions and movements to a bigger source. You need to read some books. Bring up that iq a little bit.

          • Sledg

Ahh, you know how to insult people! How cute! Does your mommy know you talk like this?

Sorry to inform you but your kids can call the cops on you at any time. And you should probably turn off the internet, the gov’t is watching!

BTW, I heard a rumor that the Kinect has arms and legs and will follow you all over the place. Shhhhh, don’t tell any one.

          • MrRadiolips

How ignorant! Thought we were having a productive debate until you brought up my children. Are you out of your mind?

          • Sledg

You’re correct! I shouldn’t bring up the kids so I apologize for that. I was trying to add humor but it clearly didn’t work.

There’s a reason Edward Snowden is living in a Russian airport.

          • Sledg

It’s not that I don’t appreciate that he brought out what everyone already knew but he took a gov’t job and signed a legal document that said he would not talk about the work he was doing. I’m sorry but I don’t feel bad for people that get busted for breaching on contracts.

But you are relating all of this to Kinect and how it’s going to spy on you. There are multiple ways to prevent it and you know it. You just like bashing on tech that MS creates. And other tech has the potential to do the same thing but guess what, they don’t do it.

          • http://soundcloud.com/ViRUSfromMARS Jaffa Cake King

I’m not MS bashing just for the sake of it or tech bashing mate.

          • roozbeh

You lost me on the people breaching contract part. I consider mr Snowden to be a hero. Who in the right mind could stand their in the nsa watching the government take info about every single human on earth.

          • roozbeh

            Obama wants to kill him?

      • Retroact1ve

Wrong, kinect is for making millions using their gamers as test groups for targeted ads:

“Confirming that Kinect will use voice and facial recognition to tailor adverts on your console, one unnamed technical account manager said, “With the new Xbox One, the technology and Kinect has improved a lot, so that actually the voice recognition, the way you speak to your Xbox and the transition between gaming and watching TV is a lot smoother, and hopefully we can transpire [sic] that into advertising that we do.”

If you don’t feel violated wait until you are a little upset and start to see ads for antidepressants. Or you are eating a bag of off brand chips and start to see Dorito commercials.

        • Volitar Prime

The fact that the XB360 has so many ads (targeted or otherwise) now and the assumption that the XBOne will have even more is depressing. I’ve never played a PS3 or seen its system menu. Does it also have ads like the XB360 does?

          • Retroact1ve

Keep in mind the ads I’m talking about are full fledged ads. Going online with ps3 there are no ads. It’s more of a background process. Top right there are text scrolls for ps3 and game news. There’s a what’s new tab to show new game installs and perhaps new availabe content but its something you navigate to and not an ad. I still can’t believe ms thinks its acceptable to have ads on paid services… It’s the whole reason I don’t pay for Hulu plus anymore pisses me right off.

        • roozbeh

what if you turn off the kinect like they said. there will be ads but not tailored to you.
if not then they lied about that too.

          • Retroact1ve

You can’t turn it off. Turning something off implies a hardware switch. The kinect does not have a hardware switch. It’s a software switch which is not the same thing. It’s slight of hand on ms’s part saying you can turn it off.

Just like a webcam on a pc, when its not in use its off software wise which is really standby. However anything in standby mode can be turned on remotely or by local software if it is programmed to do so.

So you may have it in standby but the ads programming can activate it to read your emotional response to said ad (they are targeting ads based off of emotions, and gauging emotional responses to ads to be stored in what they call a emotional state database).

          • roozbeh

what if i like game ads more than other types of ads?
will there be more game ads?

        • Sledg

Paranoid much? I mean how do you function daily knowing that the world is watching you?

        • DarkMaturus

Tin hats! Go get em out!

    • Dave

If they had shown even a singel kinect focused game everyone would be complaining about too much kinect.

Ryse, witcher 3 and BF4 will all have kinect functionality.

      • Vonrikke

So its gamers fault they didn’t do anything with kinect? That doesn’t make sense. And the only thing Ryse uses kinect for is battle cry voice commands, no motion controls what so ever

        • Sledg

It’s true though! The last time MS displayed some Kinect stuff the hard-core gamers were complaining. MS can’t win lately but the MS bashing has been around for a long time.

          • roozbeh

Some of the bashing truly is fair criticism. But some of it is completely bs.

    • pulseimpact

Microsoft can’t even develop a kinect game themselves. Ryse was suppose to be kinect only, had ages to make and now it’s controller based. If you’re smart you will just wait out for a model without kinect. Vote with your wallet. Kinect is a complete gimmick and security risk.

      • roozbeh

I was talking about major not aj

      • Sledg

        gimmick and security risk?

How is it a security risk? Do you actually think they are going to use your camera to record everything you do? If you do, then you better go dig yourself a hole in the ground and live it in with no electronics near you for hundreds of miles.

Gimmick? How is it a gimmick? MS offered a device that people can use and develop really cool stuff but they leave it up to the developers to use this tech. It’s certainly not MS’s fault that people aren’t creative enough in the gaming world to use it. Look at all the cool stuff being made from Kinect in general outside of gaming. I’d say MS did a lot of good for creating this kind of device at the price point they sold it for. Prior to this, that kind of tech was really expensive.

        • http://soundcloud.com/ViRUSfromMARS Jaffa Cake King

Yes it’s a gimmick and a security risk. Wake up.

10 year Xbox veteran here and i won’t be purchasing an Xbox One as long as Kinect is bundled with it.

          • Sledg

Jaffa, no offense but I’m not the one living in a dream world. I know what’s out there and I’m not worried.

And I can assume you have not a creative bone in you if you can’t imagine what Kinect offers. Live your fantasy and we’ll all live in the real world.

          • http://soundcloud.com/ViRUSfromMARS Jaffa Cake King

I’m a very creative person thanks mate.

            Kinect offers nothing.

Please do share with us lesser minded folk what is out there.

          • Sledg

I’m sure you can search the internet to find out what it offers. But then again, it’ll distract you from bashing on MS and living in your dream world. I’d hate to break up your own party!

          • roozbeh

Jaffa is right. Until ms shows something they will be forcing it.

          • roozbeh

            Gimmick yes. Security risk no.

          • DarkMaturus

Lol get the tin foil hats out

        • Vonrikke

It’s a gimmick because its not for playing games. Out of almost 50 announced games for Xbox one, only kindest sports uses motion controls. Gimmick

          • http://soundcloud.com/ViRUSfromMARS Jaffa Cake King

It’s also going to be used to personalize advertising towards you, how delightful. No thanks.

          • roozbeh

And fantasia. Plus bf4 will support it somehow.
Gimmick now but it has the capacity to change.

  • beardyman3218

I know this is off topic but i can’t find an answer anywhere else, i was hoping you could answer this major nelson, why isn’t the xbox one coming with a headset because if we use kinect to chat wouldn’t that mean peoples voices would come through my speakers? it this is true wouldnt that ruin my game experience as i would have to lower my volume so other people cannot here me or my friends chatting?

    • roozbeh

actually if you turn down the volume the can still hear you. you need to mute the kinect for people not to hear you.

no different to the 360. if i remember correctly the launch editions (arcade & core) didnt have mics.

      • beardyman3218

But i cant hear them if do that. I just dont see why they cant bundle it, i bet they only cost about £4 to make. how do you mute kinect without having to leave the game?

        • roozbeh

hit menu button go to preferences and from there go to voice.
there should be a mute kinect option.
dude if you mute the kinect you can still here them.
i cant see it either. probably the later editions will be bundled with a mic.
my 360 has a huge backlog so im not in a hurry

    • Sledg

I’m sorry but that bundled headset is a piece of garbage. Did you see the one that PS4 is including. LOL, it’s a joke. Do yourself a favor and buy a real headset.

      • roozbeh

OR buy an adapter so you can use an already good headset on the xbox one.

        • Sledg

That’s what I’ll be doing. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they included it in the console when it launches.

          • roozbeh

Actually I would be surprised if they do that.

  • Tom

Will any of these Events/Panels be Live Streamed on Xbox Live?

  • roozbeh

    Off topic
Rumour:The xbone is gonna get more powerful.
    Eat it sony.

    • Sledg

Well, it happened with the 360 so it might happen again with the Xbox one.

      • roozbeh

Ms has truly been humbled if they do this. This will justify the price difference. Maybe I might pre order now.

        • Sledg

The 360 was originally going to get 256MB RAM but Epic fought for it to be 512MB. And this was months before the 360 release.

          • roozbeh

I remember I used it as justification for buying a ps3.
            Man I regret that now.

        • Scott Jacobs

The price diff is almost completely taken up by Sony not including their camera…

          • roozbeh

I know that. But for people who didnt want the kinect it could be Justified now

    • Vonrikke

The funny thing about this is, even if its true, the GPU in xbone will still be considerably less powerful than ps4’s. and it would cost ms a lot to change at this point. It will just be another costly mistake by MS. The only thing that could save Xbone at this point is an overhaul that would put it on par with the ps4’s hardware. But I highly doubt ms is willing to fork the cash that would be required. When multi platform games launch this fall and you can compare the graphics between the two systems with the same game, I think xbones weaker hardware will become easily apparent.

      • roozbeh

Wow. Naivety has never been this apparent.
They have done it before so they can do it again.
Pfff dont make me laugh. The multi platform games will look the same.
Ms is rich money is not an issue for them. Unlike which is pretty much desperate now.
But enough chit chat you made your choice and I will make mine. Will see what will happen.

      • beardyman3218

But they havent announced what the gpu in xbox one is yet. i dont think the xbox one needs saving at all its a great console. As for your comment about multi platform games i ask you was there a difference this gen? even though ps3 has better hardware than 360. the downvoters are out in droves on this post havent seen a comment withouth one.

  • Vonrikke

Hello ms/hryb, how’s your bums today?

    • roozbeh

Come on people. Sony fans how can you seriously like this guy?

      • GmailIsDown

he was clearly just trolling. trolls get pleasure by trolling, just like sometimes kids intentionally cause trouble to get attention. so don’t let them. ignore the trolls, let them waste their own time with no one to talk to, like lonely losers they are.

    • roozbeh

Nothing more to troll about eh?

      • Vonrikke

Guess what system the just cause developer thinks is more powerful?

        • roozbeh

          both.
pfff you didnt even read that one did you?
he said ms have always been good on their end.
plus that was not about specs it was about offering dev kits.

      • Vonrikke

Guess what system has 1.84 tflops and which has 1.23. Guess which system is 33% more powerful. Go look up xbox and ps4 hardware comparison on anandtech. Ill give you a hint, the less expensive one is the more powerful one.

        • Vonrikke

          Answer: PS4

        • Does Not Equal

Because the most-powerful system sold the most this generation, right?

          • Vonrikke

Right. Even though Xbox 360 launched a year before ps3, ps3 total sales still recently passed Xbox 360 sales. And come to think of it, all the people like me who had to buy a second Xbox because their original red ringed, shouldn’t really count. So ya, in so many ways you are right

          • roozbeh

            Wii dipsh!t.
it outsold them both and it was the winner this gen

          • Does Not Equal

And the Wii, the least-powerful console this generation, was a flop, right? I mean, there’s no way it would have outsold the 360 and PS3 by your logic, right?

          • Jason Voorhees

The strongest console never won a console generation, that is not about to change.

        • roozbeh

wait they officially announced to gpu?
          no.
plus the ps3 and xbox had the same difference.
until release we have no clue about specs.
make an argument that can actually be argued.

        • fsdfg dsfds

PS kids… they still think every PS3 game runs at 1080p native because it says 1080p supported on the back of the game case

Also ps4 will use openGL and xbox1 will use Direct X

          OpenGL is old and crappy
