The latest Xbox gamescom coverage

It’s been a busy day in Cologne at gamescom, but I rounded up some of the latest Xbox news and videos for you in to this one tidy post.

Phil Harrison talks Football, Xbox One Games and What’s Coming Next

Forza Motorsport 5 Reveals New Tracks

Don’t forget to watch this trailer from the newly announced Tom Clancy title “The Division” – I am also happy to announce that partnership with Ubisoft The Division” will also bring exclusive content to Xbox One.

  • Bush O Connor

why does KI freeze with every hit landed its head melting.

does anyone know the player count for titanfall it looked animal in that video

    • Death Dealer

Freeze? I didn’t notice any freezing…but there is a small linker moment with every hit if that is what you mean, which always was in KI.
I think the player amount for Titanfall hasn’t been mentioned yet.

      • Bush O Connor

i only remember that freeze moment during a combo breaker,

i just read online there that each character will be 5 bucks to unlock.

    • ImperialAgent

it’s hardly the first fighting game to do it it’s just a way of animating and emphasizing the hits.

  • roozbeh, again

    Titanfall looking better every day

  • The Yankee

    Come on Major where’s the release date…Nov 8th …Nov..1st…mid Oct…

    • kx81

Exactly! We need and want the damn date, Microsoft!

      • ebonyglock

Why, we already know it’s in November. You trying to mark the day free ahead of time aha?

        • kx81

We know it’s November, sure, but November is too broad a time; 11/1-11/30; it’s a whole month!

And, yeah, I work from home, so I want to know when it’s coming out so I can get all of my work done ahead of time so I can clear a nice block of time.

          • Alex Fiedler

Thank God it’s not one of those 31 day months. That would SUCK!

      • ElektroDragon

11/22 sounds pretty obvious to me, though 11/27 is also probable. Has to be on shelves by BLACK FRIDAY.

    • M. Peterson

Well, let’s see… Watch Dogs is a launch day title. The first xbox launched on 15 Nov, the 360 launched on the 22nd of Nov…..following that line of thinking…so you do the math.

      • ElektroDragon

It will be 11/22. There’s no way they can afford to release ON Black Friday, has to be before.

        • M. Peterson

My money is the 19th to be honest.

          • Timothy Hames

If i was a beating man i would place my monies on that date

        • http://raptr.com/unscleric/about UNSCleric

It could also release on a day other than Friday…

  • Dave

So is there any chance of people in the us and canada getting a free game like europe did?

    • ebonyglock

      Killer Instinct

      • Trent

Killer Instinct is a free to play game. So it would have to be something else….

  • kx81

EU gets FIFA, their favorite sport, so how about those of us in NA get Madden, our favorite sport?! :P

    • slasaru

      It is UK favourite only

      • ImperialAgent

        pfff….. you reckon? lol

      • Jorge Garza

Also Spain and Germany, just to name a few.

      • Costas

        UK only ? lol.
Spain, Germany ,England, Italy , Greece , Russia, Turkey ,Brazil, Argentina ,Portugal , Scotland, Poland , Slovenia , Paraguay, Thailand , Ireland, Japan , just to name a few.

        • slasaru

          Exaggeration.
I even bet a dozen times more people would prefer free COD or some Mass Effect over FIFA

          • Costas

What does COD has to do with football being the favourite European sport?
Poor attempt at changing the subject with a fact that everyone knows.
And no I wasn’t exaggerating. There are even more countries.

      • beardyman3218

It’s actually a favourate everywhere except the US, the americans would know this if they bothered to take an interest in countries other than their own.

        • slasaru

I am not an american, lol
Usually poor and not very high IQ people love soccer as i see from my background. Drink as pigs and go out for street rage, that’s football (soccer) fans for you

          • beardyman3218

            Not true at all.

    • Holymarine

I said to myself a while ago that if they give out a free game may it not be FIFA as I don’t enjoy them…Me and my big mouth

      • Dylan

Guess you could sell it, but by then the game might not be worth that much. Think it’ll be 6 months or more after the release date.

        • Holymarine

I thought it was a digital download?

          • Dylan

I suppose it comes with a code for download, which can be sold on ebay.

      • todd Wright

        i F**KING HATE FIFA

    • http://raptr.com/unscleric/about UNSCleric

No thanks. Madden being bundled would make me embarrassed to be a Xbox fan.

  • Boss

Xbox One coming out 5th Nov with COD:Ghosts :P

    • Death Dealer

The release date will very likely be announced tomorrow during the livestream, also on the Xbox 360 via the LEP, 6PM local time (and I’m guessing you’re VERY close).

    • Jorge Garza

Hope so!! That would be sick!

    • ElektroDragon

No way its coming out before PS4.

      • Timothy Hames

Watch Dogs is suppose to be a console launch game at it is dated for the 19th

    • beardyman3218

It is a tuesday as well which corresponds with microsoft’s love of tuesdays, i.e. windows updates and xbox marketplace updates. they do love their tuesdays.

  • Hogwild333

Watch Dogs is a day one launch title and it is releasing on all platforms on November 19 so that is the earliest the XB1 can release. So sometime between the 19th and the 30th.

    • Sledg

I understand the hype of release dates but for some reason any day in Nov sounds good to me.

    • ElektroDragon

Watch Dogs has 60 minutes extra gameplay on PS4 plus some other extras. Same with AC IV. Now, I’m getting both consoles, but it seems that Ubisoft is deciding for me which console will be my “main” one this gen.

      • roozbeh, again

Assassins creed had always had exclusive content for playstation as. That is not gonna be the decision maker.

      • Timothy Hames

If your making a system choice on one game you need to get a Pc for modding and what the com will do with the game.

        Look at GTA4.

Xbox One and PS4 will get some cool stuff for different games but it cant match the modding com. It is silly to base a console purchase on a Game with 60 extra minutes of game play.

I could get 18 extra hours of game play doing stupid things like crashing cars head first into walls and seeing how high i can fly

Or seeing how many cell phones i can throw on the ground in 2 minutes

  • ElektroDragon

Well at least we know SHE has seen Titanfall. But have YOU seen Titanfall?

Disclosure: I actually have zero interest in Titanfall, being MP only for starters.

    • Not_A_PC_Gamer

I agree I will never buy a game that is MP only unless it’s something like PSO on the dreamcast. I will also never buy digital when there is a disk version of any game. I don’t care if the disk based game is more expensive or not. Had they had a single player campaign I would be interested.

      • Dylan

What about a game like “The Division”?

I’m a single player guy, but some innovative MMO’s look very appealing, despite being online only.

        • Not_A_PC_Gamer

Well to be honest once I found out it was another Tom Clancy game, I lost interest. Not saying it’s a bad game by any means I just never cared for Clancy games outside of Splinter Cell. The integration with smartglass definitely looks promising but I can’t help but wonder how developers are going to push these companion apps with their games. Sure I own an android phone but not everyone owns a tablet. I would kinda suck if we miss out on key features of any game just because some of us don’t own companion app devices. That’s my only concern really.

          • Sledg

I believe you can use the phone as well? It’s a good thing these companion devices are just optional though.

          • Dylan

I don’t have that kind of device, it doesn’t look integral to the game, just a neat addition for friends that are on the bus or something and would like to play.

Side note, I’m very disappointed with the direction of Splinter Cell. And so is Michael Ironside apparently.

          • Not_A_PC_Gamer

Very disappointed about Michael Ironside leaving as well. Matter of fact, I just saw him in an old school A-Team rerun last night! Man he was young back then..

Also despite the fact I love Keifer Sutherland.. It really irks me that David Hayter left as the voice of Solid Snake in MGS.

          • roozbeh, again

i thought ironside left splinter cell due to the fact he couldnt physically do the motion and voice acting.
for the record i think sam fishers new voice sucks

  • Holymarine

Anyone think that Sony is getting a little immature with the low blows? Was watching the Playstation conference and the president jabbing at Microsofts 180 on its policies and just thought ‘I wish you would grow up’

    • Jeremy Filth

Get over it, companies have been doing this for a very long time.

    • Timothy Hames

MS was throwing Blows at Apple and continues to do so. (the I am PC was in reponse to apple)

Companies will continue to do so and If MS could they would have done the same to sony. I think its funny. Beside Nintendo and Sega had some epic lines against each other.

      • Timothy Hames

Apple Macintosh Ad – Aired during the SuperBowl 1984

      • arrow2010

Hell Mac vs PC ads worked for Apple…

    • mightywombat

And then people claim that they “win” the gameshow, like at E3, despite not showing that much. All it does is add to the Sonygger rage machine. Sony fans are probably just happy that it isn’t as bad as the PS3 launch– $600 lol.

      • usrev

um, it’s not just sony fans, it’s gamers praising the console. the list of games coming to ps4 is about 100 while xbox one is about 65…

MS screwed up. the xbox one is going to be the ps3 of xbox, the question is can they become worth owning later in the gen like the ps3 was, or will they not have the exclusives to get people to buy it.

        • roozbeh, again

I would love too see those games. As it seems they are all timedexclusive indies.

        • mightywombat

Timed exclusives that will be in humble bundle for a penny? 35 more games doesn’t mean much if they are just rehashes of what came out two years ago. It’s basically like calling Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light an exclusive for Xbox, because we had it for one month before others. Or more recently, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. Xbox One is going to continue weekly releases of digital games, they just aren’t flaunting it. Sony let indie devs borrow dev kits for free for a year so they could port their PC games to PS4, big deal.

        • Jorge Garza

100… but like 80 indie games! lol

    • Timothy Hames

“Windows 8: Less talking, more doing commerical”

Shows an Ipad and Windows 8 tab, The ipad says Sorry I dont update like that.

    • Sledg

Sony has always been like that. I don’t think he got the response he was looking for. Sony’s show was OK but they definitely won the worse cameraman in the world award.

      • Timothy Hames

There is a camera person and a director. If the director was calling the shots it would be his fault not the camera guy.

        • Sledg

It must have been an indie director :)

  • Brady Nickell

Hope we get a free game!!!!!

    • ElektroDragon

There will probably be a free XBLA game like Hexic on the original 360, but that’s about it. Speaking of which, I can’t believe new 360s don’t come with Hexic anymore. Super lame.

      • Timothy Hames

dont be sad about free games, THERE FREEEEEEEE

      • ronas

Hexic HD is now a free download from the Xbox Live marketplace. It wasn’t at the time of the consoles release.

        • ElektroDragon

          Oh right, good catch.

  • Brian

You know what would be neat? A free game, and…. A RELEASE DATE! :)

    • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

i would like a “pick one of the day one game when you pre-order” =)

  • Robtroy

Don’t like to sound dour faced after a little bit of good news, was checking out the GAME online store in the UK and was looking at bundle prices has there been a change that I’ve missed somewhere. The XBOX ONE day 1 bundle with the free copy and FIfa 14 and COD ghost is £484.99 which sounds about right, but when you look at last bundle which is just a standard XBOX ONE with COD Ghost price £459.99 which to me should be same deal, as FIfa 14 comes free with Day 1 edition not my fault I preordered before this deal came out so why is this telling me I need to pay £25 more than those who pre-ordered a little late and missed out so my question is have I missed something and is the day 1 addition now costing more than a standard copy or is all consoles £429.99 if so why are they getting their COD £25.00 cheaper.
Don’t like to ramble on why is Europe still paying ridiculous prices compared to the American dollar TAX in this country is bad but not $150+ Difference get a grip Microsoft these British companies are either pricing us out the game or YOU.s are

    • Dylan

You’re forgetting that Fifa 14 will be 6 months old by then and won’t be worth as much as you say.

      • Robtroy

Are you reading what I’m writing correctly take FIFA 14 out message as its going to be free for all day 1 releases in Europe I said they are selling 2 bundles exact same one £25 cheaper than the other and I was asking if the day one console price had increased, so read story properly before replying. So has it or is all forms of xbones all same price STANDARD/DAY ONE editions

        • Dylan

Sorry, I have trouble reading run-on sentences sometimes.

          • Alex Fiedler

For some reason my brain creates the voice of someone talking with their mouth full while I read his message.

          • Nick Peck

            hahahaaa!

    • Timothy Hames

solution for you in three steps.

First the Console are Regon Free
Second find a friend in the us
Third pay him to ship you stuff

YOU WILL SAVE MONEY THIS WAY

      • slasaru

And then try to bring us imported xone to customer support service… Should it be like Apple….

  • Timothy Hames

I know for fact the Xbox 1 will come out after Oct 30 but before Dec1
    :-)

    • ebonyglock

It’s already known to be coming out in November.

      • Timothy Hames

Humor is sometimes lost on the internets

  • ElektroDragon

Titanfall will be the most overhyped epic fail ever. The real gem will be Destiny. MS would be pushing Destiny instead like CRAZY if it were not also on PS4.

    • Timothy Hames

      Titanfall looks good,
      Destiny looks Better,
I am excited for the Divsion which I will be playing.

      • Sledg

I’m really looking forward to The Division.

        • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

          count me in too

        • Morris ヅ

          going to be very good

    • roozbeh, again

You willing to maje a bet on that?

    • Sledg

      “most overhyped epic fail ever”?

Are you serious? So, you’re basically saying that all the gaming sites are wrong?

I know you don’t like MP but you do realize Destiny is always online and you will come across other players as well.

“Bungie, which is developing Destiny under a 10-year publishing deal with Activision, has designed its next game to be constantly connected to the Internet. It will not work offline, and players will routinely cross paths with other players, even if they prefer to fight alone. A companion smartphone app will keep players connected toDestiny‘s world.”

      • ElektroDragon

OK, perhaps I used too strong a choice of words. I should have just said, “an overhyped disappointment that has been marketed to death”. If mechs were so appealing, Mechwarrior games would be all over the place and on their 10th sequel. But they’re not.

And need I remind you how basically no one went to see Pacific Rim despite it being an awesome movie?

        • Dylan

Pacific Rim did very well worldwide, made almost 400 million and was number one for a while.
They’re considering a sequel, and they should. Made crazy money in China and everywhere except for the US.

Domestically it didn’t do that well with 98 million.

        • ImperialAgent

eh? there are quite a few popular mech games wtf are you on about? and titanfall will appeal to regular fps fans like me who wouldnt normally play mech games

      • Guest

        “most overhyped epic fail ever”?

        Fable 1

    • Morris ヅ

Titanfall will sell more then Destiny i bet you £100 on it

      • Bush O Connor

i very very much doubt that EA versus Bungie, once
Bungie prove themselfs to the playstation crowd there will be no stopping them. every Halo fan on the planet will be buying Destiny as it is.

        • Nick Peck

A lot of pc gamers boycott Activision which is publishing and helping out Bungie on Destiny. Titanfall will sell a ton of copies no doubt. Destiny looks cool but I’m not sold on it just yet, public games like that are cool at first but get boring pretty quickly, as is the whole FPS Loots / RPG type of game (at least for me).

I have always been a massive Halo fan so I have no doubt the game will be good, but I still need to see a bit more. I’m excited for a bunch of next gen games, but Titanfall is at the top of my list still (and it sucks it doesn’t come out until spring).

          • Bush O Connor

to be honest i havent looked at anything Destiny related. i dont even know what type of game it is or release date.

but i have faith in Bungie and i’l buy anything that Marty O’Donnell has thrown his hand to. basically im buying a $60 music cd.

im not too bothered with the nextgen launch lineup at the moment, this is the only site i keep track of and still im only waiting for the announcement of a Kinectless xbox one. il buy Titanfall off a cheap cdkey site like i do with all origin games.

  • Robtroy

Microsoft should make kinnect free as most don’t want it, that would drop pricing way down probably cheaper than PS4 then developers know every console has 1 and they can develope for them and if they Are as good as Microsoft say they are people will come round and start using them win win all around and it would put PS4 under and XBOX ONE back on map.

    • Timothy Hames

Its tough to say. See if the Kinect proves to be as good as it was hyped then more people will want it.

I dont think with the road map we have seen and the showings both systems have had you will have a turn around as quick without the kinect.

You need some Games like Halo did for the first Xbox to set it apart. ( i bought a xbox just for it. Titanfall and Dead Rising 3 look good but I’m not going to get a system for just those two games)

I dont think that the showings yet have that power. (Please dont misunderstand they look good but its not like Halo where i had to run out for a xbox to get it)

    • Sledg

Wait, I thought you left a long time ago? Back to post garbage again I see.

    • Jorge Garza

If you don´t want kinect, just get PS4. I´ll get my Xbox One.

    • The_Mad_Prophet

Why would they make it “free”? That’s just dumb. Since it’s no longer required, they should make a different SKU that leaves it out and drops the price to match the PS4. That way people that want it can pay for it, and everyone else can just get the console. :D

      • Robtroy

Yeah but what there preaching is they want very one to own one so it will entice developers to create awesome content and giving away for free. Ain’t dumb especially when majority of profit over the yrs will come from software technically Microsoft could give us whole god dam consoles for free and eventually still make a profit over the years I’ve spent about £3000 on hardware and accessories then £7000 + on software and I bet a huge number more have spent more on software compared to the hardwRe

        • Dylan

And what have the developers made that showcases Kinect so far?

It seems at this point, forcing in the box has done almost nothing for the actual games.

Heck, even the “true AAA kinect game”, Ryse hardly uses it anymore. Must be a limiting device that isn’t good for gameplay experiences.

          • Dave

That’s a really short sighted way to look at it. How many genre defining games have been made for peripherals?

Aside from music games, none. Requiring separate hardware limits potential customers. By including it in the box they make it something devs can depend on and let their creativity run wild. Besides that, it doesn’t have to have a huge impact on one game. It can just sit quietly making games better across the board.

Add some face scanning for online shooters, some voice commands for squad games and rpgs (skyrim is night and day with it.) a heartbeat sensor for survival horror games so the game knows just when to scare you. Plenty of options.

          • Nick Peck

^this. I don’t really care for motion gaming on any system but I love everything else the kinect can and will do. They won’t sell the system without it, they just reiterated that AGAIN (for those that keep about it).

We still have today and tomorrow left and then there is PAX for them to show some kinect stuff off. However, I find it funny that everyone use to cry about “stop showing kinect this or that”, but now everyone wants MORE “kinect this or that”. Love how that works :p

We will see more as time goes on, you don’t really need to know EVERYTHING they are doing before it comes out. Keep some surprise in the mix, why feel like you beat the game before you even play it. ^This is a general statement, not directed at you dave.

          • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

ryse was first meant for kinect 1, project got place on the shelves and rebirth from ashes for x1. It was NEVER meant for kinnect 2.0 only in the first place. We should be thankful it’s coming the way it is and not the way it was on the laggy kinect 1.0

        • The_Mad_Prophet

Microsoft may very well want everyone to have a Kinect, but that doesn’t mean they’re willing to pay customers to do so (which is essentially what they’d be doing if they gave it away for free).

If they make it worthwhile, people won’t mind paying extra for it. That’s just a basic tenet of business. So far it doesn’t seem like it’s going to add a whole lot to gaming. The 1.0 version was good, but not great, in part due to the poor quality of it’s camera and microphone. Those issues at least seem to be fixed. So it’ll perhaps be more reliable than before, but still not groundbreaking.

    • ebonyglock

      ^^Blabbering

    • Nick Peck

XBO never left the map, it has always been on it and has sold out in preorders EVERYWHERE. Not bad for a system no one wants because it’s to expensive or comes with kinect, lol.

Once people actually use the kinect for it’s many purposes, they will warm up to it. It does a lot more than just sit there for motion type games. Look up Dead Rising 3 and see what they are using it for, look up project spark, the list goes on.

  • http://raptr.com/unscleric/about UNSCleric

11am my time. I will be getting up for this for sure.

  • bat0nas

Will and when it comes to PS4?

    • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

      not anytime soon.

      • bat0nas

        Thanks.
But it’s not exclusive. It will be available for PC as well. It’s just interesting… is this the same story as with COD Ghosts (which will for sure will be available for PS4) or not?

        • roozbeh, again

          good luck playing halo.

im getting the best of both worlds.

        • Nick Peck

CoD is out on all systems so yes, it will be out on the ps4. Most people are talking about console exclusives, and yes, most people also know the game is out on the PC (as well as the 360).

Consider it MS exclusive then since it will only run on a windows based OS.

  • Landsharkk

    Don’t want Kinect?

Kinect offers full body motion capture in Project Spark (Free game). Also voice capture, you can literally create anything you want in Project Spark thanks to Kinect.

Kinect offers full home theater control, including volume adjustments all done using your voice. You can put all of your tv/etc remotes away forever and go 100% wireless/voice control for your living-room. That’s your Games, Music, Movies, and social apps. Kinect also acts as an IR blaster (saving you LOTS of money if you were thinking of buying a universal remote, etc).

Kinect is integrated into every single Xbox One launch title.

Kinect can be utilized by every single indie developer for their indie games. Think of the possibilities!

    That’s why I want Kinect.

    • roozbeh, again

For the record I agree with you that kinect is cool and a necessity for us

‘Kinect is integrated into every single Xbox One launch title.’ is plain wrong. you should have said all first party exclusives and some multiplatform games

    • http://raptr.com/unscleric/about UNSCleric

I have never been on board with the Kinect until the Xbox One and now I am excited for it. The enhanced quality and field of view is what finally got me wanting one.

    • Logan5

I think one “killer app” for the new Kinect will be head tracking. As someone who uses TrackIR on the PC I can testify to what a game-changer head tracking is in certain types of games. FPSs, flight sims, and racing sims are naturals for this application.

The new Kinect appears to have the accuracy necessary to do this without all of the head gear that TrackIR requires. I’m surprised that we haven’t heard more said about this. I did see a comment somewhere that Forza 5 has this feature, but haven’t seen any confirmation of that nor any demonstration of it. I hope that developers pursue this use of the Kinect.

  • roozbeh, again

    when is the next conference?

    • Nick Peck

From the twitter feed on this site (I hate twitter btw) it looks like once is starting at Noon EST for me. He has a time conversion link in his previous twitter message that takes you to a site that will convert the times for you so check that out.

So it’s looking like in a few hours from now :)

    • beardyman3218

The live stream event is today for xbox.

  • http://www.xbox.com/ Martin Davies

I want to know the Xbox One release date!! November 5th would be sweet, ready for Ghost’s :)

damn it, was looking forward to it for launch

    • dibils

if they dont even have devs yet, the earliest we will see it is late 2015

      • roozbeh, again

maybe they shouldnt have teased it so much. its kinda disappointing

  • Dennis Crosby

Rockstar posted this on there website about Xbox on demand:For those asking about digital pre-orders on Xbox LIVE, the Xbox 360 Games on Demand service does not offer the ability to pre-order games or make them available on launch day. That being said, we will be making GTAV available via Games on Demand as soon as it’s technically feasible and permitted by Microsoft.
this suck Microsoft need to fix this

  • http://www.theageofknights.com/ NoThru22

Please allow the use of the official $400 Forza 4 wheel on Xbox One!

    • evilfangs .

How does the wheel connect to the 360, USB? Should work on Xbox one if so.

      • Nick Peck

I was just going to say that, I’m sure they will write the drivers into the game since it’s a usb device. Well, hopefully they will do that for the people that have the device anyways.

      • http://www.theageofknights.com/ NoThru22

No, that would make the assumption that Microsoft is not evil. They are blocking all old peripherals so they can sell new ones, just like did on the Xbox 360. It’s simply that they are not offering anything nearly equal to the Fanatec wheels that I wouldn’t simply buy another one. The Fanatec will work on the PS4, though.

        • roozbeh, again

‘No, that would make the assumption that Microsoft is not evil.’

          Microsoft is evil huh?
          Run for your lives everyone!

        • Nick Peck

Well to be fair, it is about selling the new stuff but I think an exception for a device like that should be allowed. I mean it’s not like a ton of people have it so what would it hurt?

I see why they probably won’t, but I don’t feel it’s a big enough deal to not allow just one thing through.

        • Nathan O

MS changed the proprietary Wi-fi in the XB360 to Wi-fi direct in the XB1. If it isn’t a wireless wheel it should absolutely work on the XB1.

          • http://www.theageofknights.com/ NoThru22

The wheel has a USB hookup but it won’t have the required Xbox One copy protection chip inside. MS has stated that 360 peripherals won’t work on Xbox One. It does not matter if they are wireless or not. Fanatec wants to work with MS on an adapter, but no statements have been made. I am hoping they will again listen to their community and do the right thing.

  • beardyman3218

Im watching the live event now and im loving everything their showing.

    • roozbeh, again

keep me posted. cant connect to xbox live for some reason

      • beardyman3218

        No problem.

        • roozbeh, again

          thanks
          anything new happened?

      • beardyman3218

Battlefield 4 bringing back vehicle from battlefield 2, map packs coming first to live as is plants vs zombies garden warfare, indie devs now have access to all the power of xbox one including achievements, smartglass and kinect. Deadrising 3 uses smartglass to locate items and stores and titanfall looks amazing.

        • roozbeh, again

          was there a release date?

          • beardyman3218

Unfortunately not, they ended with an amazing new watchdogs trailer though cannot wait for that game.

          • roozbeh, again

i honestly dont care about anything other then a release date.
‘map packs coming first to live as is plants vs zombies garden warfare’ so that was the exclusive content correct?
would love to see what the indies will do with kinect
            bring on PAX!

          • beardyman3218

I think the exclusive was fable and the legends mode in fifa 14.

          • roozbeh, again

i meant the exclusive content from bf4

      • Jorge Garza

You can watch it here http :/ /tech. uk. msn. com/features/the-best-of-gamescom-live

        • roozbeh, again

          thanks!

  • Bobby Hitt

What marketing person do we need to inform that after the PS4 release date announcement, every presentation Microsoft does without providing a date is just going to alienate more people?

    • roozbeh, again

still 3 months till launch. PAX is still on the horizon.
plus how does it alienate people when the damn thing aint out yet?

      • Bobby Hitt

A lot of people, myself included, are wanting to schedule a day or two off from work to enjoy the new console when it comes out. Vacation time needs to be scheduled in advance, especially around the holidays.

        • roozbeh, again

i agree but do you really need to know 3 months in advance?

          • Bobby Hitt

I was supposed to have my vacation time locked in over a month ago. I’ve managed to stretch it out so far, but I may already be out of luck if someone else has already claimed that time (I’m on a small team).

          • roozbeh, again

well i would say a safe bet is mid november

    • Nathan O

we know its in November. Why is the specific date so important to you?

      • Dylan

They probably don’t want 4 Xbox One games pre-ordered, just sitting there, with no system to play it with.

        • GmailIsDown

I plan to spend this year’s thanksgiving playing Xbox one and ps4 and they better release it as early as Sony will do for ps4.

          • Dylan

It sounds like Xbox One will come out a week or so after the PS4.

          • roozbeh, again

            wanna bet on that?

          • Dylan

            No way haha

      • Bobby Hitt

As I mentioned in the other comments, I need to schedule vacation time.

  • Logan5

I saw the news this morning about Xbox One being able to control a home theater system, and couldn’t be more excited. As someone who has my 360 connected to my home theater, and currently uses a Harmony remote to control everything, this was music to my ears. No more worrying about whether the remote is charged, or ending up with sticky buttons when kids come over and inevitably apply sticky kid fingers to my expensive device. Brilliant!

Microsoft appears to have really thought through the details on the One and has a vision for where they want it to go. While their competitor offers a box, Microsoft offers a complete user experience. That’s a huge difference that I think potential customers will come to appreciate, even if some can’t yet fully understand the vision.

    • Robtroy

Yeah sounds great but there a very small percentage of gamers who game in the living room and that seems to be what Microsoft are trying to overtake so in a whole they are only preaching to a minority and at times ignoring the majority, as I says on another posts kinnect should be free there was a statement no long released saying all Xbox ones will come with kinnect it’s like an accessory just like the blue ray player only difference is it can be disconnected doesn’t always have be on, so looks like a kinnect less bundle is out of the question so why do we need to pay for it Software in we’re Microsoft makes there money and if they give everyone a free kinnect and those who eventually start using it may build up a bit of a kinnect collect who in turn will have to buy a new kinnect if old one breaks just like other accessories that they have in 7 years I’ve went through tonnes of accessories likes of controllers, mikes and charge & play kits.

      • GmailIsDown

        .

I am sorry but everything in your single long sentence is wrong.

        1) a majority of gamers game in their living room, according to Microsoft anyway.

        2) the new Kinect costs as much as the console itself, why would Microsoft give it away for free?

        3) Kinect rarely breaks. It is a frigging camera for crying out aloud. Do you plan to press and lick it everyday?

        4) you need to learn to use punctuation correctly. English 101.

      • Not_A_PC_Gamer

What in the world are you talking about. Most console gamers game in their living room or bedroom. The minority are the guys that can actually sit at a desk while console gaming if anything.

I have no idea where you came up with your information but Console gamers who game in the living room are the majority.. not the minority.

      • Nick Peck

Just wow. I’d guess that at least 85% of console gamers game in the living room / bedroom where you have cable and what not. So everything extra on the XBO can and will be used.

But see the guys posts below me, they said it perfectly. Man my eyes hurt lol.

    • Volitar Prime

Voice and gesture based entertainment center controls are not practical when you have a 2 year old who likes to randomly move around the room and say things. I’ll stick with my Harmony which works great.

  • Raheel Khurshid

does anyone know to which regions this Xbox Upload Outreach program applies?

  • chiron69

What was the point of the “Voice Studio” app for the 360, when Microsoft decides to postpone the release in Scandinavian countries, until they have used the time to integrate norwegian, swedish, danish, finnish and icelandic languages into Xbox Live? Personally, I really don’t care that Xbox One is postponed (because I still have a lot of games for the 360 that I have to play through), but for Microsoft and Xbox Scandinavia, it will be a disaster when the PS5 comes out. It is sad for all us Xbox-owners that have followed the Xbox from birth to today….

    • roozbeh, again

first of all not everyone will jump to the next generation right away. so ms wont fall that back in the end
secondly the ps5 wont come out till 2021. that gives the xbox one a substantial lead.

      • chiron69

hehe. ;) I meant the new PS. (Not so much into numbers when it comes to Sony). ;-)

  • roozbeh, again

    off topic
to all you kinect haters. check what project spark does with the kinect.

  • Joshua Guss

    XBOX ONE FTW…Being a COPYCAT

    1) XBOX 360 Party Chat…Sony copied and put it on PS4
    2) XBOX ONE Live TV…Sony copied and put it on PS4
    3) XBOX 360 Apps…Sony copied (Same Apps)

If you’re on a console team, and your team just sitting there watching another team and trying to do what they’re doing, then your team sucks. Sony is relying on other people to make a good console, and they’re copying them. And so far Sony is relying on Microsoft. Sony need to Work for they’re self!!

Sony should think on their own, ignore Microsoft. Try to be better than them. It’s like Sony is saying “Oh, I wonder what Microsoft is doing.” Microsoft is trying just as hard as Sony to make a new console.

    Sony and their PS4 sucks.

    • roozbeh, again

dont forget about achievements. just sayin

      • paul rolland

I hate Achievements, when did gaming become about numbers, I found myself playing a game just fore the score, redoing parts I didn’t like just for the numbers games

        • roozbeh, again

so what you dont like it?
sony copied and thats what the discussion was abour.

    • paul rolland

Now if Microsoft could copy Sony in terms of making awesome first party games and bring decent content without pay walls I might buy an Xbox One, However they dropped everything I loved about the 360 like Mistwalker, Having games like Project sylpheed and other different genres of games, a clean menu system that I can see my backgrounds. Right now Xbox feeling like a FPS system with massive pay walls so Ill stick with my PC and 360 till they fix that

      • roozbeh, again

        are you familiar with d4?

      • Nick Peck

MS and paywalls? How about Planetside 2, Warframe, DC Universe & there’s another one that I can’t think of it at the moment (not to mention there will be plenty more as well). How about having to pay for MP on ps4 now?

Also, how is the XBO menu system not clean looking? They even said there will be themes, but they haven’t put any on yet and are just keeping it simple looking to focus on the features and not the background.

But hey, whatever, enjoy what you enjoy :)

    • Bush O Connor

Xbox one plays games.. i wonder who they copied that idea off?

its all about the games, the rest are just added bonuses.

      • roozbeh, again

        Best comment in gaming history

  • nitron1911

i have to say microsoft has won me back over after E3 i was for sure i was getting a ps4 but the policy reversals and these new exclusives look too good to deny, titanfall, Ryse, dead rising 3 all look sick. the last hurdle for me was being able to unplug the kinect if i so choose

    • roozbeh, again

Don’t forget about killer instinct and project spark. Along with the next halo and crackdown.
Im drooling just by thinking about them

      • nitron1911

yeah i’m pretty excited about KI also, i am kinda disappointed there doesnt appear to be a TJ combo or Orchid character they were my favorites and there’s only 6 fighters, hopefully they will make a disc version with all the characters at some point

        • Nick Peck

There is a disc version and there will be more fighters and modes added later one. They are doing a staggered release kind of like how the last Mortal Kombat game did it.

I think they have only announced 3 fighters so far, so I’m sure we will find out more here very soon. I can’t seem them dumping all of the old characters, so I’m sure those will be in there :)

  • paul rolland

    Because they wasn’t ready

  • macsteph

5 dnt forget that knicet game

  • Nick Peck

First off, “Major” isn’t privy to every piece of Xbox news so chances are he doesn’t even know when the top brass will want it to be announced. There are a lot of things he’s even surprised about from time to time. When they are ready they will say so.

I want a release to but guess what? It’s NOT the end of the world as you know when it will be out for the most part. They said November, so take a guess that it will be out…… in November. Get the knot out of your panties and relax.

If this will cause you to “change” your loyalties, good, one less crybaby on live to deal with!! I’m all for that. You do know PAX is coming up and the MS will have some more stuff to announce right?
