The first Xbox One consoles starting their journey

The first case of consoles packaged and ready to go: And here is first pallet loaded and ready for the journey to your local retailer for November 22nd:

Xbox One By Larry Hryb, Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson

  • tenbob1972

these images get my juices flowing .
am going to put myself in stasis now , wake me up on Nov 22 .LOL

  • bickle2

And please make our alternate choice NOT Forza. If I want realism I have a car in the driveway Make it a non-sports game please

    • SoulSnatcha

Seeing how if they do in fact give US buyers a game, it would need to be rated E, there aren’t many launch choices besides a sports game or Forza.

      • bickle2

Given that it has to be validated, not really. Here’s a call of Duty day one system bundle. Hell, just turn it into a $60 store credit if that’s what itt takes.

        • Nick Peck

See, people even complain about FREE stuff lol. What is this world coming too? Sad.

          • Morris ヅ

            lol ungrateful people tut tut.

        • SoulSnatcha

I wasn’t stating that all system bundles require the game to be rated E. That’s evident from the countless Halo/GoW/COD system bundles they’ve done in the past. But those consoles were typically more expensive because of the inclusion of the game and because the system usually had some custom artwork. If they’re going to give a game away for free with the console, most likely, they’ll choose a game that has a rating that won’t cause an uproar from parents because little Jimmy now has a copy of Assassin’s Creed that he wasn’t supposed to get.

Would I like to see something other than Forza or a sports game included? ABSOLUTELY! Those games aren’t my cup of tea. I’m just saying the chances of it happening (if they even validate that they’re going to give the US a free game) are low.

          • bickle2

I don’t disagree with you, but even an offer, like I said for store credit, or the ability to trade the code in for another game once an adult is verified would be far more appealing. I, Layton probably many people here put my hundred bucks down the first day I was able. But I have never gotten a pack in game since the Genesis that I actually wanted. I’m sure eBay is going to be awash in these codes, so I can’t even effectively sell it.

I’m not complaining, I just want to again that I actually want for once, and since these are digital downloads it’s pretty easy to make everyone happy.

  • X1ultimateGamer

Man I can’t wait for my Xbox One Day One edition all paid off and going to go Digital with it

    • Nick Peck

Same here. My works fat internet pipe will be downloading like mad alllll day lol. Having mine overnighted to work so I can do what I said above since it’s so much faster than my home connection.

    • evilfangs .

How is your console already all paid off?

  • boe2

So those things have firmware that is acceptable for the general public?

I hereby humbly request a UI demo of the Xbox One.

    • Death Dealer

I think they still have the basic firmware that needs to be updated at launch.

  • Pegelo

How dare you stack my xbox one. We need this skid wrapped tighter

  • MrRadiolips

Glad im so ahead of the game…no pun intended… but i see more people moving to PC soon. I love my xbox so much but this “GEN” is not making me excited.

    • m1nh0ca

Same here. The current gen has still lots to offer.
People buying a day one console (any of them) have only one objective: brag.

Always there are hardware failure, hardware revision, not so many games (mainly if there’s no retrocompatibility), software is getting better with time, there is price cut… we get the best of a generation at least from the 3rd / 4th year.

      • Nick Peck

So spending $500 on a few video card to only have 40% of it’s actual power get used before needing a new one for one new api change? Having a quad core CPU that hardly any game takes any real advantage of (most games are still coded for dual cores at most)? Sitting at a desk to play games? Even if you plug your pc into a tv, how comfortable is it to sit on the couch with a kb/m? It’s not.

I used to play on my PC for years, years back but gave up on it as it’s just not all that great. Every time the pc version of a game comes out (after it’s out on the console) there are always people crying that the pc game has a ton of issues… It’s always been that way.

I don’t care, play what you enjoy on any platform as that’s all that matters but I doubt there will be some mass exodus of console gamers moving to the pc. I’d always rather sit conformably in my living room playing a game that might be a peg down from the PC version.

Plus I can’t stand working on a pc all day then coming home to sit on one all nite to play games, did that for far too long and don’t care to do it ever again. But that’s just me :)

Again, enjoy playing however you prefer.

        • Ross

Yes you are right, it is down to preference. However I just wanted to add my 2cents anyway. :)

In regards to playing on a TV, most games these days have at least Xbox 360 controller support out of the box (including the on-screen button prompts). I know this because I actually do that quite often (I like the advantages of playing on a PC, but don’t like m/kb or sitting at a desk constantly, so sue me :P).

With game bugs. Well yes there are developers that only see PC users as a way to get quick bucks with a half-*** PC port. Surprisingly though, these days it’s actually getting a lot better; plus with the new consoles coming out, I imagine we will see less bugs and more quad-core advantaged games as well considering they are more PC-like (I recently played Splinter Cell Blacklist and it’s obvious that’s one game that is already taking good advantage of quad cores).

With GPU upgrades. Well yeah that’s a weak point in the PC argument; but as far as I know plenty of people still have 5 year old 8800 series cards that they use. So the time between upgrades probably isn’t a short as most people imagine (if they haven’t been into PC Gaming at any point unlike yourself).

But yeah it’s all preference with how you want to play. Which path you take highly depends on cost, and it’s no denying consoles are a good cost effective way to feed our gaming habits… Each have their positives and negatives. :)

          • Nick Peck

Yah, I forgot that most games have the 360 function built in, which does help for sure (and I have used it many times myself in the past).

Agreed, they all have their ups and downs and like I said, enjoy whichever one ( or all of them) that you love to play on. It’s the reason we spend the money, to have fun and enjoy the hobby.
However, this hobby killed my wallet….. yikes!! O.o

            Enjoy!

        • m1nh0ca

Sorry, I guess you misunderstood (ok, there was a gap for it). My “same here” was regarding “I love my xbox so much but this “GEN” is not making me excited”.

I’m not a PC gamer and I do not intend do be, the same way I don’t intend to buy a Xbox One until I’m fully convinced that it’s worth affording. And it may take some time still… maybe only when the “slim” version is released :-)

          • Nick Peck

            Gotchya :D

    • Ross

Yes I would imagine a lot of people will make that move or have already made it.

Personally I moved to PC as my leading platform a couple years ago, but that doesn’t stop me anticipating the new generation and what it will bring in terms of not just new games on console, but improvements in PC ports as well. :)

  • m1nh0ca

I hope the Chinese people assembling and packing those consoles are being well treated.

    • MrRadiolips

      “giggles”

    • roozbeh, again

      But that is apple’s thing.
Is this a hint for the iplay?

  • roozbeh, again

    good news usa peeps.

    http:// http://www.digitaltrends .com/gaming/it-looks-like-us-xbox-one-buyers-may-receive-a-free-game-after-all/

    • Nick Peck

I doubt it, but I of course wouldn’t argue with a free game :) I’m not expecting anything free as I don’t mind paying $500 and just getting the system.

  • Richie Laurence

Awesome counting the days till launch

  • Senses Failed

Cheers major, turned up this morning, prompt delivery :)

  • baconcheeswhiz89

lol someones gonna hijack the cargo

  • Mark Matheson

I think I see the one with my name on it!

  • Morris ヅ

think they should be coded to a number as well

  • evilfangs .

Email them and say you’ve ordered the day one edition of the console and that is what you will be getting. Say you have contacted Microsoft support about this and if you do not receive your day one edition on the 22nd Microsoft will be getting in touch with them.

    • ROMEObc

Thats sounds like a good idea i have to do everything i can to get my hands on the xbox one the first day. Thats all i been waiting for!!

  • roozbeh, again

the aussies are getting a game too it seems.

    • evilfangs .

Australia gets screwed the most with the exchange rate. Even 2 twos wouldn’t be enough lol.

  • Timothy Hames

I heard a rumor that Half Life 3 is installed on each system ready to be played at Launch date

    • evilfangs .

That is almost as crazy as the rumor I’ve just heard. That all fanboys are actually gamers.

  • chiron69

… and it probably isn’t destined for Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Finland or Sweden, unfortunately….

It is sad that the PS is going to get such a HUGE head start here, it will probably influence the number of games that the shops will take in aswell, if the PS has a 90% market share when the Xbox One is released here sometime in 2014.

I guess someone in the Xbox-development team hasn’t done their job properly. Or is it a “strategic” move? If so, I think it is a bad one…

    • Nick Peck

Honestly, it isn’t a bad one. Say there is 1m preorders and 600k are in one market alone (like the US), you will send as many to the biggest region possible to maximize sales. Why commit so many systems to smaller markets that have a very small amount of pre-orders?

It’s nothing against the smaller markets of course, but they are dedicating as many systems as they can to the big guys that are moving 10x the amount of systems. Sonys problem will be that they won’t have enough to go around launching in that many markets. Sure, everyone will get some, but not many which will run them dry really fast and leave their big markets bone dry.

I like MS’s approach and it makes total sense, but I do feel bad for the guys not getting it on the real day one. However, I doubt it will be a massive delay, probably just a few months as they continue to build up stock for the other regions.

      • Dylan

Microsoft has to get the US first. It’s the main market, the one they have complete control over.

That means hanging back on other countries, but I suppose it’s necessary for the console to be successful.

  • chiron69

If you feel that way, imagine what scandinavian Xbox-fans are feeling right now…. (#%*@¤) ;-(

  • ARMISTICErj

    I kin…has?

  • ARMISTICErj

Larry my windows 8 Nokia Lumia 928 phone doesn’t like your website in the mobile view. What gives? Everything is jangled…

    • Nick Peck

Yah mines the same way, it gets all elongated and is hard to read that way lol. Every other site comes up fine though, go figure.

    • ElektroDragon

More evidence of Microsoft being inept at supporting their own Windows Phone platform. I have a Nokia 1020 too. :(

      • boe2

WordPress is affiliated with Microsoft now? I learn something new every day…

  • John Smith

& for those of us w/over 400 xbla titles & 400 xbox 360 titles w/no playability on the new xbox one…we say no thanks

    • evilfangs .

Here is a wild idea. Keep your 360?

      • Sledg

What? We can keep our 360? I thought the 360 blew up after we purchased the XBox One :)

        • evilfangs .

I too heard this but it sounds crazy.

          • Sledg

Next thing you’ll tell me is that I’ll be able to plug the 360 in to the HDMI In port of the XBox One! That would be a crazy idea!

          • evilfangs .

WHAT!? This is such a crazy world we live in, I just can’t take it anymore. :(

          • roozbeh, again

            WHAT SORCERY IS THIS?

      • John Smith

will do but one day they’ll die off, & Microsoft won’t support the servers forever, so it’ll be defunct…but thanks captain obvious

        • evilfangs .

Here is another “Captain obvious” moment for you. You don’t buy a next gen console to play last gen games.

          • John Smith

            I did w/the 360 genius

    • Xenokai

Anyone who is a hardcore digital game buyer should of already new that this would happen when the current gen dies off, developers arent gonna retool every arcade game so it can run on 100% new hardware ever gen. Its one reason people didnt like a all digital DRM xbox.

    • roozbeh, again

albert pennello said that the cloud could be used to stream those games.

      • Death Dealer

Let’s hope they do, or just release a cheap dongle for BC.

      • ElektroDragon

On PS4 maybe, since they actually have Gaikai.

        • Nick Peck

They can do it on XBO as well, they already have the cloud network in place, now all they need is the delivery interface. I bet they will have something like that at some point.

I’ll bet my bottom dollar they have been working on something to do that for awhile now, but aren’t ready to say anything for awhile.

      • boe2

he didn’t say that they would. He named it as hypothetical scenario.

Not that it matters, your 360 still works after purchasing an Xbox One.

    • Nick Peck

I say no problem. Be lucky you had any type of BC in the past. Every go from tapes to cd’s? Beta / VHS to DVD, then to BR? You buy the new systems for the NEW games.

I have a filled 320gb HD full of games, but guess what? I’m keeping my 360 just because. I hardly ever go back to play old games so I really don’t care about BC anyways.

Again, I buy the new systems to play the new games, old stuff is just that, old.

      • John Smith

I still have all of my old systems & will keep them…it’s a matter of principal…and u r not me…I play all of my old games

  • Xenokai

I predict that, the first box on that pallet is mine! Gonna pick it up from a locl walmart here in Kentucky.

  • juanma

voy a tener que esperar 10 años hasta que lleguen a argentina y pagarla 10 veces lo que valen hoy.

  • juanma

I’ll have to wait 10 years until they reach Argentina and pay 10 times what they are worth today.

    • ROMEObc

Im sure youll get it sometime next year so you better start saving your money!!! :)

  • Snake eyes 211

Why is the Xbox one $200 higher than the PS4?

    • Sledg

      >.<

    • roozbeh, again

      dafuq you talking about????
that was the ps3 vs xbox 360

      • Snake eyes 211

To have a proper Xbox experience it’s $200 more games etc.
        I love xbox

        • roozbeh, again

And to have a proper ps4 experience you have to pay $200 more games etc.
that really was a sh*t argument

          • Snake eyes 211

I’m asking other people not a sheep like you
            Go troll someone else

          • roozbeh, again

            you cheeky a**.

    • Herbert Waller

In my opinion, there are several reasons. Firstly, kinect. Secondly, the OS is far more streamlined. Remember, you can connect your satellite or cable box through the HDMI pass through (instantly switch from game or whatever you are doing to live TV). I for one love that feature. I think all around, you get more with the Xbox One. That’s what I’m buying.

      • Snake eyes 211

        O cool thanks

        • Herbert Waller

          No problem

      • evilfangs .

Hit pause on my game then hit channel up on my TV remote and OMG something strange happens. I go from playing a game to watching TV.

Hit a button my TV remote and OMG I can do another Xbox one feature and split my TV screen into two screens and watch TV and play video games at the same time!

Seriously these “features” are old and shouldn’t be used as a selling point.

Even though I dislike the Kinect that is something to use as a selling point.

        • Herbert Waller

I’m not hitting the tv input on my TV, changing my Yamaha Receiver input, & cutting on my directv receiver to watch TV if I don’t have to. Xbox One makes it a seamless transition. Your response is pointless. Technology always makes everything easier. That’s one reason why I’m getting the Xbox One & not that other one.

        • Herbert Waller

Just to make you drool at my setup. Sony 40″ LCD KDL-40W4100. Yamaha RX-V1400. Acoustic Research fronts 310HO, center 25HO, rear 206HO. Velodyne Sub Woofer VA 1210. Direct TV Genie HR44-700. I only noticed you mentioned changing your TV input, sad.

          • beardyman3218

Nice, I hope thats a 1080p tv to accompany that great 5.1 system :)

          • Herbert Waller

            1080P 120hz

          • beardyman3218

The set up is complete :)

        • beardyman3218

When i change channels on my tv it reboots my xbox, something to do with hdcp i think, the hdmi in is really good for me.

    • Michael Burden

      More value.

      • Snake eyes 211

        Can you elaborate please thx

  • roozbeh, again

    short q,
the original xbox had x86 architecture, is backward compatibility possible with the xbox one?

    • ElektroDragon

A fascinating question! But they are going from Nvidia optimized GPU to AMD optimized GPU, so probably not. :( But actual hardware compatibility with the original Xbox 1 would be seriously awesome. Don’t think they’ll bother though.

      • roozbeh, again

        Oh right the Nvidia GPU…
It would be really awesome though if it could happen. But you are right. they probably won’t.

        • Nick Peck

They used a Power PC triple core CPU as well, but I’m sure that could be emulated easier than the gpu.

          • Michael Burden

They were talking about the original Xbox, which had a Pentium III processor, not the 360.

    • Dylan

      A good thought.

I had asked this when the DRM stuff went down, and some tech dudes were saying it’s harder than it sounds haha.

I remember someone said that an accessory box that plugged into the Xbox One would make it backwards compatible, which sounded REALLY COOL. Especially since, those that wanted it, would be willing to pay more for it, and others wouldn’t have to.

But I guess that didn’t happen.

    • GmailIsDown

      emulator can do anything, theoretically.

      • Dylan

Yes, as we saw with the 360. Sadly, I don’t think we’ll be getting that next gen.

    • SoulSnatcha

I thought I read somewhere that backwards compatibility may come later down the road.

  • Sledg

Hey Larry! If you ship mine earlier, I won’t tell anyone. And as a pre-release delivery bonus, I’ll test it for free.

    • ElektroDragon

Yeah right, you’d just put in on eBay for $1000.

      • roozbeh, again

        $1000? You are kind…

        • m1nh0ca

This kindness is applied in Brazil… yeah, they will pay $1000 (R$ 2199) for the console.

http://www (dot) americanas (dot) com (dot)
          br/produto/113910676/console-xbox-one-500-gb-com-leitor-blu-ray-novo-controle-wireless-novo-sensor-kinect-edicao-limitada-para-pre-venda

          • roozbeh, again

Well boohoo for them. Double the price of the rest of the world is insanely too much

      • Snake eyes 211

        Wow

      • Sledg

LOL, no I wouldn’t! I only preordered 1 so there’s no way I would get rid of it. And it was really meant to be a joke.

  • ElektroDragon

When are you paying AMD for all the chips? Since its being manufactured now, that would be THIS quarter, right? Please let us know!

    • roozbeh, again

      Them stock huh?

      • ElektroDragon

        Yes sir! Huzzah!

  • roozbeh, again

Does anyone remember those xbox box scams on ebay?
Looks like we are gonna have another

    • Dylan

Well you need the day 1 patch to remove the DRM, so the thought of even trying to get an Xbox early is plain stupid.

      • roozbeh, again

No offence but that comment was plain stupid

        • Dylan

How? The day 1 patch is required to play the Xbox One.

If you get it early…there’s no way to get the patch. And even if there is, you’d get insta-banned.

          • roozbeh, again

oh, now i get it better.
yep there would be that issue.
but i wasnt talking about getting the console early. i was talking about the ebay scams

          • Dylan

Oh yeah, I was talking about the people dumb enough to bid on them. Even if it was real, it wouldn’t work haha

          • evilfangs .

Even if it did work you wouldn’t have any games to play on it :)

          • Dylan

            That too! haha

          • ElektroDragon

You would NOT get banned because some folks have won the console and will get to play it early. And you can bet some media will too. And who says the patch won’t be available for download a week or even a month before launch day?

          • Dylan

In which there is an authentication process that goes with that.

Once my friend got a Call of Duty game a week early, got console banned when they checked whether he was a valid reviewer or not.

      • The Yankee

Quick question for you…why are you here? I come here every other day post a comment or two but can’t understand why your so negative about EVERYTHING…sure its got to be opiniated but your the type of person if I tell you if the sky is blue you would argue that it was green. Take for example roozbeh, again ..I might not agree with all his post but I he at least makes sense.

        • evilfangs .

Sky is always grey where I live.

          • Dylan

            Me too unfortunately.

        • Dylan

          I’m an XBL subscriber.
Are you saying that buying an Xbox One early is smart?

You disagree with me? Haha why?

Always negative? You obviously don’t read all my comments then.

        • Dylan

When do I not make sense?

I’m pretty clear with my punctuation and grammar. Might have a different opinion than most, most of the time.
I’m not contrarian just to be contrarian.

Just because I have a different opinion, means I don’t make sense?
Since we are making assumptions about character, Okay, you must be the one downvoting everyone all the time simply because of a differing opinion.

          • Nathanzz

            1. You missed the point in the op. He’s talking about people who listed an “Xbox box” on ebay, i.e. the empty box the Xbox came in, because the Major is teasing us with pictures of boxes full of Xboxes. (Although I think those were more jokes than scams.)
            2. You don’t need a day 1 patch to remove DRM. There is an initial setup, but it’s not “to remove the DRM”.

          • evilfangs .

Actually the day one patch is to fix software issues and to remove the polices like 24 hour online check in and the digital rights management on games.

          • Dylan

No I didn’t. I completely understood what he was talking about.

I was referring to the people who would actually bid on those, even if the Xbox’s were real, they wouldn’t work.
So bidding would be doubly stupid ;)

  • ElektroDragon

Isn’t this a bit early? Pallets are just going to sit in a warehouse somewhere for 2 months before being shipped to retailers? I guess they have to build up the inventory so they have enough critical mass for launch.

    • Herbert Waller

They are on their way to a container ship. Has to sail from China to all over the world. That takes time buddy.

    • Nick Peck

Do you realize how long it takes to pump out a million systems, let alone several million? They don’t all just come out at once a week before the launch date :D It takes awhile to build up stock to ship out.

Heck, I bet they won’t hit the pre order #’s for a month or more, just depends on how many they can crank out in a week.

  • Sledg

    Good to know! Thanks!

  • Dylan

The first commercial for Xbox One has no games in it.

    http://kotaku com/the-first-xbox-one-tv-commercial-has-no-video-games-i-1260546035

    • Sledg

It’s football season! Makes sense to me.

      • Dylan

        It’s a video-game console.
The average consumer will be confused,
“Oh it’s a tv machine thingie now? A Roku for football?”

        • Sledg

Really? I don’t think they’ll be confused at all. All I got from it was hey look it’s football season and the XBox One allows up to do some cool things to enhance the experience.

        • GmailIsDown

this is just the first commercial. relax. i’m sure games like Ryse and Dead Rising 3 will make awesome commercials.

          • Dylan

If there’s one thing Ryse would be cool at, it’s definitely in a cinematic commercial.
Crytek also made a pretty funny and cool Crysis 3 commercial.

        • roozbeh, again

I never understood why it is bad for a game console to have more things than just games.
what is the problem with having entertainment features?

          • Dylan

            I don’t think it’s bad.
I use things like Netflix and such all the time.

It’s an issue when that’s the focus of the device.

Every other device does this already! Smart TV’s (which is now going to be ALL tv’s) have this built in now, Blu Ray players have this, Roku’s, laptops, smart phones, etc.

So it being the focus of the device, when every other device doesn’t require a subscription, and is much less expensive, makes no sense.

          • roozbeh, again

Focus? You sure? I heard them talk about the entertainment features since the reveal.
Yes they talked about TV a lot but it was always games first.
plus that thing about every other device doing it is a very bad excuse. Should cell phones only be used to make calls?

        • boe2

“I don’t like NFL and I hate this NFL commercial”

          classy.

          • Dylan

When using quotations, it’s wise to actually use an actual quote.

I’m a huge NFL fan, so the joke is on you.

          • Dylan

Heck, I even bought Madden 25 anniversary just to get NFL Sunday ticket so I wouldn’t be forced to watch the atrocious Raiders anymore.

        • Nick Peck

The average consumer knows what an Xbox is, even if they have never used it. However, I do know how stupid most people are these days so I wouldn’t doubt someone will confuse it lol.

          • Dylan

Yep. Everyone knew what a Wii was, and yet were confused by the Wii U.
Doesn’t help matters that the Xbox is called Xbox One.

    • evilfangs .

It’s a NFL trailer, not an Xbox one console commercial.

The title for the video is “The NFL on Xbox one”

    • Nick Peck

Considering the NFL is starting up this weekend, it only makes sense considering it is one of the main features / options of the system.

  • Herbert Waller

Yes, Major Nelson has confirmed that.

    • Bush O Connor

if you cannot do that then what would be the point? tv’s have up to 5 HDMI ports these days.

i was thinking it would be good for streaming and recording 360/ps3 games. if this cant be done then its just a useless feature that will be removed on the xbox one v2.

  • Nathanzz

I don’t think the XB1 records anything off of the HDMI input. It only records your local gameplay on the XB1. You can run a 360 HDMI output into the XB1, but it’s just a passthrough. You won’t get any of the advantages of the TV guide overlay or control. Maybe the ability to snap it side by side with Skype or other apps, but that’s about it. It’s really intended for cable/satellite/iptv boxes.

  • Death Dealer

Not at launch, but in theory it could record content from the HDMI as the data will still have to go through hardware to overlay the Xbox One interface.
A DVR program will have to be written first though and I think MS would limit that to non-HDCP protected content if they do, to not damage relations with cable providers.

  • SoulSnatcha

They haven’t said anything about that, but it would be nice to have.

  • boe2

a wish list in your online profile would actually be a pretty good idea, yeah

  • Nick Peck

I like the idea, but the easy way to do that is to have someone just buy you the “credits (formally called the points) card”, add it to your account and buy anything you want digitally.

Or just goto a site like Amazon, do up a wishlist and print / email it out. Just a few more options for you to think about :)

    • Rupert Oldcorn

Yeah having looked at the new XBox Rewards format I figured they’d be coming out with a credits card, so that would be a viable alternative.

I know that Amazon has just started a digital games department but so far in the UK all that is available for XBox is buying points or Gold, if that were to be expanded to map between Live account and digital games that would be a perfect match. (that being said at the moment you can’t buy books for someone elses kindle using their wish list so I expect Amazon to work on that as their priority)

Otherwise XMas will be lots of envelopes under the tree :D

      • Nick Peck

        I hear ya :)

Trust me I agree, I think that would be a cool idea and I think as digital downloads take over store bought copies. You will start to see retailers (websites) starting to just sell digital download codes for each game so that they are still “selling” games even if it isn’t a physical one.

  • Tracy Edwards

Ha, look. I see mine in that top box! Yaa.

  • evilfangs .

Cool finally the achievements have been upped in the reward program. Now I’m not at the top tier of achievements with my gamerscore. I now need 15000 to get 75000GS.

Got something to aim for now to get them 300 credits for every $10 purchase instead of 200.

    • Catalyst

Sucks for us early adopters who have been playing since 2005 and have well over 100,000GS, and don’t get anything extra beyond some silly “Master” status.

      • evilfangs .

I could have had over 130,000 GS but they’re just some games I cba to keep playing after I have completed.

        • Nick Peck

Yah I don’t like the MP only achievements in a SP/MP type game. If it’s only MP, then that’s fine. I think it was Mass Effect 3, or another game that tied the online achievements to SP tasks too, so you could do either or.

I have had a 360 since day one but very rarely got much more than 50% of the achievements in games. However, these days I really try to knock out as many as I can, but there are some games I can’t keep replaying lol.

Like I got 1k on Assassins Creed 2, went and played AC1 and the controls are so sloppy in that game that once I beat it, there was no way I was going back for more as I wanted to break my controller way to many times :p

I guess that’s what happens when you start off with the 2nd game first, then go to the original afterwards. Man AC2 had a ton of improvements!

          • evilfangs .

Yea I tried AC1 after playing all the other AC games. I just couldn’t use the controls. 60GS all I got on that and I won’t be playing it again.

          • Nick Peck

Yah, playing the much better AC2 first made playing AC1 even worse. The controls were horrible in the first one for sure. I made it through but man did I want to toss my controller through my tv 100 times :D

          • roozbeh, again

            Altair is worth it

          • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

            grabbing all the feather suck

  • supergg2k

This is surreal. It is just over two months before they are available for sale. Isn’t someone concerned about them being made available before launch?

    • Snake eyes 211

      I love xbox

    • Jeremy Filth

      Happens all the time.

  • DavidinCT

Just ship one of those boxes directly to my home please !

  • elsascho

I also want to choose between forza and fifa!!!!!
    @Major Nelson

    • evilfangs .

You don’t get to choice your free game.

      • roozbeh, again

        ‘Mercia, Deal with it

        • evilfangs .

Even people like me from the UK don’t get to pick Fifa 14 or Forza 5.

          • roozbeh, again

            Too late to preorder huh?

          • evilfangs .

I per-ordered in July before the free game offer. Which means I was in the first wave of free games, so I get Fifa 14 for free with my day one edition.

They then sold out of day one editions but Microsoft gave GAME more stock and in that wave the people who pre-ordered would have got Forza 5.
The second wave with Forza 5 sold out within 2 hours.

          • roozbeh, again

Poor saps who can’t preorder now.
But I think Microsoft will give more allocations soon

          • beardyman3218

We do :), check on amazon or play.

  • Snake eyes 211

Nice at least you guys get a free game here in the US we get nothing and don’t tell me cause you guys pay more blah blah blah you also earn more money overseas as well. we get 7 dollars an hour over there you make 12 to 15$
    I love xbox

    • roozbeh, again

      Jealous huh?

      • Snake eyes 211

Here we go again it’s the number one troll :-/
        Please stop trolling me

        • Sledg

And you keep saying the same thing over and over and over. I’m not sure who’s trolling who.

          • Snake eyes 211

What is a troll Description one somebody that’s waiting on a website for somebody to say a common so he could negatively reply
Description two somebody the comments or replies on things and nothing about
Description three just look in mirror

          • roozbeh, again

Awkwardly that really fits your profile exactly

        • roozbeh, again

          Trolling?

  • Pegelo

Why does the uk get a free game I dont think its cause they pay more for the xbox one?

    • roozbeh, again

      lower preorders

    • evilfangs .

Microsoft don’t own the UK and Europe and the exchange rate price they gave us only made it worse.

Microsoft has to win in our territory so gave us a free game. America still gets more features like apps then us anymore.

      • roozbeh, again

        And the stupid NFL thing.
American football, pfff. more like handegg

        • evilfangs .

America even get that Pizza app lol. Only in America can you order a take-away on your console and get it delivered.

          • Bush O Connor

so thats the reason to push kinect, people will be too tired and fat to use a controller they just have to shout at the xbox with a mouth full of pizza and mountain dew and wave those bingo wings to play order pizza game.

        • evilfangs .

I kinda like to watch a bit of American football. Funny thing is I hate Rugby, which is the tougher mainly version without pads and helmets lol.

      • Pegelo

But someone like me who doesnt live in the uk or america doesnt get most of the apps too and the cable box features.

  • http://www.yakkowarner.com/ Yakko Warner

Looks like the address is wrong on that package. I live in Colorado — I’ll send my full address in a PM. Please fix that, k? thx. ;)

  • Riddick Snipes

Australia gets FIFA 14 free!!!!! Boom!!!! Oh yeah.

    • evilfangs .

Exactly what Australians care about, football.

It’s like giving Americans a Cricket game for free.

      • Riddick Snipes

Got to b the stupidest comment I’ve ever seen. About the cricket, don’t hold your breath.

        • evilfangs .

How so? Most Australians don’t give a dam about a football game, just like most American’s don’t give a dam about Cricket.

Giving Australians a football in which most of them don’t care about doesn’t do anything to the price they’re paying or even give them value for they money.

          • roozbeh, again

Most Australians don’t care about any sport now that I think of it.

Maybe they could give them a free kinect game.
Crocodile hunter kinect edition would probably do

          • Riddick Snipes

Hey douchebag, its a free game, and the last I heard is that australia is gonna get a forza 5 choice soon enough. Either way its a free game. Or r u gonna tell me we do not drive either?

          • evilfangs .

You don’t get a choice of free games… It depends on what wave you pre-ordered your console.

Xbox one announcment – August 31st was wave one and everyone who pre-ordered then will get Fifa 14

Wave two started Septemeber and people who pre-ordered will get Forza 5, but that sold out now too in the UK.

It’s wave based not pick your free game based.

          • Riddick Snipes

Well for the UK its pick ur game. Maybe Australia will too soon enough. Either way FREE GAME!!!!

          • evilfangs .

No it isn’t, because I have asked both major retailers and my response from GAME was exactly what I wrote out.

New day one stock became available from Microsoft on September the 1st and GAME was able to offer Forza 5 for free. Anyone who pre-ordered on September 1st was put into “wave 2″ of day one pre-orders so only get Forza 5.

Anyone who pre-ordered day one editions because September 1st will only get Fifa 14 for free.

You don’t get to pick your game.

Just go look at the question and answers section on GAME website and look at the official responses from GAME.

          • DarnedNut

But Australians don’t drive… They ride on kangeroo’s everywhere, They don’t??? Damn Canadian education…

          • Riddick Snipes

Finally someone with some humour. Bring on the 1!

          • roozbeh, again

I think you are mistaken. They ride on koalas.

    • Snake eyes 211

Another country getting a free game will congratulations my friend I hope you enjoy it :-)

      • Riddick Snipes

Yeah it sweetened the deal for me that’s for sure. Can’t wait.

  • Marc Beadle

Can’t wait for Amazon to send mine

  • ZenFranklin

It still amazes me that people think Microsoft can flip a switch for specific app support in certain countries. It’s way more complicated than that. Want more app support in your country? Demand it from your cable providers and government in some cases. Plain and simple.

    • Jason Lafitte

Canada has some of the most advance cable and internet companys around, and they don’t enable this stuff here. I have full fibre to the house in my neighborhood.

    • Bush O Connor

or just make an account for the region that has the app you want. can even use a proxy if its really needed.

thats how i got twitch from the american marketplace.

  • DarnedNut

That one in the middle is mine! Can’t wait to open a box then another box then packaging then finally I get my next gen xbox.
