Xbox One Tour: Road to Launch

As part of my Xbox One Tour: Road to Launch, I’ll be visiting New England next week. Over the next few months, I’ll be making my way from New England to Arizona and up to Canada. These are great opportunities for you to check out Xbox One games before launch.

f you are in the Boston and Burlington Mass. area, please join us for an exclusive opportunity at the opening of the Microsoft Retail Store in the Burlington Mall on Thursday evening, September 19 at 7:30PM. In addition, I’ll also be at the Microsoft Retail Store in Boston on September 20 to witness you try out your fighting skills with Killer Instinct.

We’re giving YOU a sneak peek at what will be some of the great Xbox One titles including Forza 5 Motorsport and Killer Instinct. Please come to the EB Games Expo in Sydney, Australia on October 4-6.

  • beardyman3218

Any chance of microsoft stores coming to the uk?

  • Death Dealer

Please come to some European stores too ;)…
…and maybe it’s time for an Xbox 360 pricedrop considering your NPD just dropped under half of last year to only 96.000 units. If the base 4GB unit were to be a little cheaper than the VitaTV (and you announce Xbox One streaming to the Xbox 360), you’d be giving another punch back as the Xbox 360 offers more functionality!

    • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

i would expect a price drop near or after christmas so that 360 doesnt compete against the one for people that doesnt own any of them. That being said, my guess is that people that still by it, by it to replace broken console more than actual new costumer

  • Just Me

Since you will be in New England, Will you be going to the Microsoft store in the Danbury fair mall? Its connecticut.. We would love to see you there major. I see there is a big lapse in time between boston and arizona. So i was just curious.

    • DavidinCT

I live on the other side of CT but, I would take the trip just to mean majornelson in person….

  • Lectoid

Let me know how those European Sony shows go then.

  • ExocetNick

Quite a set of events. Are there any plans to do something like this in any of the other launch regions? Living in the UK I know I would be at one of these for sure.

  • Nick Peck

OT question, but will we ever be able to pay with our MS Wallet on the MS online store? Also, when can we use that to buy games online on the Xbox site? Anyone see or “hear” anything yet? My wallet is loaded but I’d like to use it on their site too :(

    • Alex Fiedler

Tweeted that same question to multiple people just a few days ago. No response. I’d imagine so, but I’m really interested to see when they’re expanding it to encompass Windows Phone and Windows 8 stores as well. I bought a game for my WP8 the other day, but despite it showing a balance in my wallet, it would not let me purchase the game using said balance, instead I had to enter a gift card number (got one from Bing Rewards).

      • Nick Peck

When I got my 928 I had a promo where I got $25 credit for free. I had that in my “Wallet” on the phone and could purchase games on my phone with it just fine, but couldn’t use it anywhere else (like I couldn’t buy anything on my tablet with it).

But now that it’s all we have, what’s the hold up on using it? I’m not mad or anything but I was going to buy another XBO with it but I can’t use it on the site. Not to mention we can’t use it to buy Xbox games on the site like we have been able to do for years now.

Again, it’s not a huge deal at the moment but I was really hoping this would have been “taken care of” by now. I mostly filled up my MS account with 4000pt cards from trade ins at gamestop so that I can fund my day one digital XBO game purchases but I still wonder why I can’t use it to pay for other MS related stuff yet.

        • DavidinCT

I thought we could use it on Windows 8….but, I guess I was wrong…There is no way to select it as a billing option in Windows 8 or 8.1…

  • Alex Fiedler

Wondering that myself. It was confirmed as a launch title, but I can’t find it in any of the online retailers (Amazon, MSStore, GameStop).

  • Alex Fiedler

Yeah, we here in America sure are enjoying the choice of two free games with our Xbox Ones. =(

  • Jason Lafitte
