Xbox Premieres “Crimson Dragon” and New Gameplay for “Dead Rising 3” at Tokyo Game Show

The following has just been posted on Xbox Wire:

Today at the Tokyo Game Show, Microsoft showcased a first look at “Crimson Dragon,” the flight-based shooter from the creator of the critically acclaimed “Panzer Dragoon” series, and unveiled new gameplay for “Dead Rising 3,” the next blockbuster installment of Capcom’s award-winning zombie action series, coming exclusively to Xbox One on Nov. 22.

“Crimson Dragon” Takes To New Heights in Tokyo

Microsoft Studios, in partnership with Grounding and Land Ho! today unleashed new footage of “Crimson Dragon” for the first time at Tokyo Game Show. Created and directed by acclaimed developer Yukio Futatsugi (creator of “Panzer Dragoon”), the flight-based shooter features action-packed gameplay and a vibrant new user interface.

Launching exclusively for Xbox One for $19.99 (USD) on Nov. 22, “Crimson Dragon” enables you to harness a powerful dragon and take to the skies in this thrilling shooter where humanity has been driven to the brink of extinction on a planet ruled by dragons. It’s up to you and your friends to control the winged beasts as you battle for supremacy. Purchase and play “Crimson Dragon” before Dec. 31 and receive an exclusive dragon to help you rule the skies.

Capcom Showcases Co-op Multiplayer and Super-combo Weapons for “Dead Rising 3”

Microsoft and Capcom Vancouver enticed fans with a first look at co-op multiplayer and Super-combo weapons, a brand-new addition to the celebrated franchise.

In “Dead Rising 3’s” online co-op mode, you can take on the zombie horde with a friend over Xbox Live, with the ability to hop in or out of each other’s game at any time. When playing in a friend’s game, you’ll not only help them advance, but also contribute to your story progression and earn experience points that carry back into your own game. Any mission you finish in a friend’s game will also register as “complete” in yours, so you’ll never have to go back and replay a co-op mission to advance your single-player story, unless you want to experience it again.

Co-op players will assume the role of Dick, a wise-cracking trucker who sees the main character Nick Ramos as his best chance at getting out of the overrun city of Los Perdidos, and plays a key role in the “Dead Rising 3” story.

In addition to showcasing co-op, Capcom revealed Super-combo Weapons – a new tier of Combo Weapons that requires at least three components (and oftentimes multiple steps and blueprints) to craft, and features unique abilities that let you decimate crowds of zombies with devastating effect. Examples include the Ultimate Powershout, a deadly concussive horn made of traffic cones; the Ultimate Grim Reaper, a flaming scythe made of a katana sword, a scythe, a gas canister and a mask; and the Massive Bomb, a mini-nuke that obliterates every zombie in your vicinity – along with your clothes.

Not only are Super-combo Weapons ultra-powerful, but they can also be customized into a wide range of different variants with unique abilities. For example, the fan-favorite “Freedom Bear” from “Dead Rising 2,” a life-size stuffed bear turret armed with twin machine guns, can be customized into eight different variants in “Dead Rising 3” with modifications like grenade launchers, a push cart and a boombox lure to confuse the zombies. With hundreds of Combo and Super-combo Weapons, “Dead Rising 3” takes customization to the next level in the ultimate zombie sandbox and gives you and your friends a virtually limitless number of ways to fight back against the undead horde.

at least remove the crimson dragon from the market as a 360 game or i will keep waiting for the kinect game that made me buy the kinect :(

    • Death Dealer

I thought it was said a port for the Xbox 360 may still be coming somewhere down the line…

  • Dennis Crosby

I can’t wait to play dead rising 3 but is there any news about GTA5 on demand yet

    • Nick Peck

If there was it would have been posted somewhere. It seems like MS has been getting new games out within a week or two after launch so I’d assume very soon.

    • Michael Burden

It may be a little while due to the problems with the texture pack and game being stored on the same hard drive. The PSN version is suffering from this issue which is the same as the 360 disc version has when you install the textures and game data on the same hard drive.

    • usrev

you do not want an on demand version it won’t run right.

  • evilfangs .

Don’t really care for Crimson Dragon. I am however excited for more Dead Rising 3 game play.

  • martin_m95

im reminding in case you dont look at the previous posts
MAKE RAIMBOW SIX VEGAS REGION FREE

  • Karl Cramer

Crimson Dragon is a $20 launch game? Nice!

    • Karl Cramer

Crimson Dragon Side Story was one of the best Windows Phone exclusive games.

    • Nick Peck

Wow, I missed the $20 line! That’s totally worth it, I was going to get it anyways at launch and now that it’s saving me $40 I have to find another game to spend it on :p

      • O Mosqueda

I think it’s gonna be $20 because it’s gonna be downloadable. I think it was marked “Kinect Arcade” when it was listed as an upcoming game for the 360.

    • ElektroDragon

You sure that’s nice? You want all XBLA games that are next gen to cost $20?

      • Angry Consumer

I would pay $20 for games that are worth $20 or more.

      • Karl Cramer

Since I expected Crimson Dragon to be a full-priced retail game, yes.

      • usrev

depends, state of decay was a good game for $20. the price isn’t the big deal if the game is stellar.

though, the average arcade game is too expensive.

  • Angry Consumer

    what about new games, homies?

    • Does Not Equal

These are both new games. They’re not even out yet.

  • Mitchell Hall

So psyched for xbox one! Had my preorder since June. Thankfully the wait won’t be so painful now that gta is out. This game is literally the best game I’ve ever played. It has so much to do, ive never seen anything like it. Not only that everything from the shooting mechanics, driving, characters, weapons, vehicle customization etc have been polished to a point of being surreal. Not to mention the 3 characters play amazingly well off of each other. Being able to switch between a gangbanger, a psychopath and a nut going through a midlife crisis gives you so much diversity. I can’t say enough about this game. If you haven’t got it yet.. don’t wait go now lol. All this and its only half of the experience. Gta online is dropping in another 12 days and with 500 missiosns to start and the chance to make your own missions, start a crew I don’t think I’ll be playing much else until xbox one drops.

    • Nick Peck

The only thing I don’t like is how the cops just KNOW where you are at. New cops show up out of nowhere but shoot you dead on. Pretty annoying, but the game is fantastic so far.

      • Mitchell Hall

What dya mean? I don’t find that at all.. actually that’s what I found gta 4 to be like. But this one they have a field of view. And did you notice if you do a crime and no cops are around you won’t get any wanted level unless a witnes calls the cops? If u kill em before they call u won’t even get cops after u. But if they do call, the cops don’t go directly to you they goto where thr crime was commited so as long as you leave the scene of the crime before they show up you have a better chamce. In order to lose the cops you have to take alleyways and then once youre out of the polices field of view hop in another car and you lose em.

        • Nick Peck

I should have specified more. there are times when I had a cop or two chasing me and I get out of their FoV, climb up on a roof and I’m getting shot dead on.

I haven’t had a many shoot out yet with the cops but this happened a few times so I’m glad that you said it doesn’t really happen like that. Maybe it glitched or something odd happened that I didn’t realize, who knows. Great game so far though, but I can’t wait to dig into it more this weekend.

Still playing Diablo 3 as well, two huge time wasting games in a row is pure evil!

      • Liquidfx Xboxdude

wow haven’t had that problem yet.

  • Rafik Bouchaala

again what about coming soon to xbox live game store ?

    • Does Not Equal

Neither of these games is coming soon.

    • O Mosqueda

Maybe they wanted to save the embarrassment for this week DotW (plus all of the negative comments).

  • O Mosqueda

I was looking forward Crimson Dragon in my 360. I know you need good games for the ONE, but Kinect 360 also needs good games and this one looked like a winner. Hopefully, you’ll port it to the 360 after several months in the ONE. Not many of us are gonna be able to get an XBO at least in its first two years.

    • O Mosqueda

OK now, why does my comment deserve a downvote? Now it’s something wrong to ask for support to an MS product that has a lot of users?

      • http://deulus.com/ Derek D

I’m going to take a shot in the dark and assume you were downvoted for your support of the Kinect. People HATE Kinect.

        • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

people that i know that own one never really complain about it.

          • evilfangs .

Because them people want to own one.

      • fastharryDOTcom

        I evened you out brother…

      • martin_m95

        just trolls
“oh look a new comment im gonna downvote to piss the guy off lololololololololoolololo…”

    • B00ME

Just import an Xbox One, it’s region free and so are the games.

      • martin_m95

since the xbox one is region free it will be awesome if they could make xbox 360 region free too

        • O Mosqueda

Some game already are, the problem is XBLA and GonD. It could be just a matter of patching but I’m afraid they are not gonna do it.

        • Karl Cramer

The problem is deals were made 8 years ago for the 360. The marketplace has changed, so the Xbox One gets a fresh start. But they can’t go back and void contracts.

  • LarZen

I hope Microsoft will come with some information on when they plan to launch XBO in the countries that had to wait. I am hoping February or March 2014…

    • B00ME

If that doesn’t happen, you can always import one, the console and games are region free.

      • LarZen

Aye that’s true! If MS takes to long I might just do that… :)

        • evilfangs .

You will need to do some research before you decide to import.

You could come up with problems of warranty / two pin plugs etc.

      • slasaru

Actually, its games and not the console that are regional locked. So i think, if they want to block some game for outsider, they will use an IP blocking for downloading, just like currently on 360

So saying it is not region locked is just marketing, IMHO

They could allow downloading digital games from anywhere even on 360. With the DVD drive story s little different, I agree. I still think that Bluray movies watching WILL be regional locked

    • slasaru

I ordered it from germany, cannot wait ))

  • O Mosqueda

Short for Richard, despite the most common use today. Maybe is a pun. If so, it will wear thin quite quick.

  • B00ME

Really? Who doesn’t know women love Dicks.

  • roozbeh, again

    $20? SOLD!

    • Death Dealer

True for me too, but I do wonder if the price justifies the amount of content in the game. Personally I wouldn’t like to see that higher price point become the norm for most XBLA sized games like we have now.

  • GmailIsDown

i’ve been waiting for Crimson Dragon ever since its announcement. excited that i could finally get to play the spiritual sequel of Panzer Dragoon series, two generations later!

  • boe2

Wasn’t Crimson Dragon announced ages ago as a 360 game? Don’t move 360 games to the Xbox One just for the sake of it.

Unless this game is also getting a 360 release ofcourse (just like Lococycle is getting both a 360 and X1 release), then all is fine and dandy :)

    • Death Dealer

      www vg247 com/2013/06/13/crimson-dragon-xbox-360-has-not-been-cancelled-says-director/

    • John Smith

      yep this sux i say

    • Nick Peck

I don’t really care, once the XBO comes out I wont play the 360 much, if ever again. Plus, have you seen the game? It looks leaps and bounds better than the kinect 360 version.

However, the game was pretty much done so who knows, maybe at some point they will just release it. I don’t see why not, they can make some extra cash off of it, but for me, I’ll get the XBO version.

  • martin_m95

everybody that wants raimbow six vegas region free PLEASE respond to my comment saying you agree. LETS LET MAJOR NELSON KNOW THAT WE WANT IT REGION FREE

    • evilfangs .

Already is region free for me, but I’ll still give you a comment to try help you guys get region free games.

      • martin_m95

        still locked for me

        • evilfangs .

I live in the UK so it’s 99% always going to be region free because our laws are basically the same as US laws, give or take some stupid laws on there side lol.

          • Maritox

All the games with gold need to be unlocked. Major at least give some kind of answer about why not or if its possible. I pay for gold and i cant download my free games!

          • Ivanx360xpira

yeah…this is getting annoying…every month the same thing…I pay gold for years and i can´t download my free game, wtf…this is outrageous…Just put damn game available for everyone, once its free…

    • rhooper

Well… he’s not from the marketing team, but I hope he’s able to talk with the right person to address this problem.

Every month is the same… it’s being already way too annoying.

      • m1nh0ca

Lucky him he’s not from marketing.
Those guys are terrible, the whole department should be changed for people with more empathy and much better customer vision.

    • Lucas Sanches Cestari

dude… rainbow six vegas sucks!!!, you don’t wanna play that game!!, i played it, i deleted it and i rated 1 star in less than 1 hour of gameplay =/, it looks like a really poorly made version of gears of war 2 with random controls!!

      • martin_m95

I played the pc version of vegas and i can say its better than gow 2. You dont just run and gun like in gow this game requires you to have perfect tactics for each situation or else you die in 1 shot just like your supposed to in real life

    • Please Clarify

True words! There is no point in giving away stuff if it cannot be accessed by all recipients.

  • KellyNUTS

No upcoming XBL previews for the next fortnight or too scared of the backlash on the garbage we getting…. again :(

    • KellyNUTS

      @ Kevin Du –

IM 100% sure they wont answer my question but they need to hear the voices of their fans(customers)!!

Also, wheres the love for Killer Instinct? That was streamed after Crimson Dragon, would be nice if that got a mention too!!!

    • Nick Peck

Or go on the Xbox website and click on the weeks deals. Does everything have to be spoon fed to people these days? Seriously, it’s fast and easy to find people, don’t be so lazy.

      • KellyNUTS

Since my last reply didnt pass ill try again:

Its not about being lazy its about knowing whats on offer. Maybe if something good is coming up we can prepare and gt more points or save our current points.
Plusim from Australia and our dash updates are pretty pathetic, u have to manually find whats on offer sometimes if its outside of the normal DotW, this blog was a great way for me to find out what else is on offer rather than having to check other non official M$ sites and/or trolling thru the entire XBOX game lineup to see whats on spesh.

I just thought M$ would start putting in a lil more effort now that Sony is catching up and old XBOX fans arent as happy as they used to be.

From a marketing perspective M$ is full of FAIL ATM :(

  • Nathanzz

The dragon! The dragon! The dragon! The dragon!

  • John Smith

bummed 360 ant getting crimson dragon, long ago it was suppose to

  • xbox_gamer

Biggest share holder of Ms stock want MS to sell Xbox division

    • Nathanzz

Typical m.o. for vulture capitalists. Milk a company for all it’s worth in the short term, then discard its desiccated husk to find a new target. If they start calling the shots, we’ll know that the end of Microsoft is near.

    • Bennijin

Stupid. They should be pumping more money into the brand, resting on their laurels is what got the 360 barely any exclusives since 2010.

    • BostonSup

Chances are that won’t happen unless during their restructure they sell off or end all divisions except software (which is what you’re referring too and what a small few are suggesting).

    • roozbeh, again

      screw stock holder.(sorry electro dragon)

  • Bennijin

What kind of a name is Martin?
