  • Joshua Cuellar

Halo 3 yay !! i played my copy so much it snapped =/ ! so im glad its free on the 16th gonna be a long 15 days =(

  • Chuii4You

Hell yeah, Halo 3 :´), is time to revive old good times with the best Halo make ever, can´t wait for the new players on it.

  • sporeboy100

i just wish the program could start putting up more relevent games, like assassins creed III, or something from the last few years and not just games from around system launch, something like Borderlands 2, one of the 10 quadrillion Call of Duty rehashes, a good madden game,

    • Dylan

That would require real effort on their part, and I think it’s obvious by now that they were only interested in the good will they received by the announcement of this program.

      • Nick Peck

Sorry, but it’s impossible to pick out games that all of the cry babies would just love to have. You can’t make everyone happy, it’s impossible. Most people just like to cry and complain about everything, honestly, I could hand out $100 bills and the way people are today they wouldn’t say thank you and would complain that a FREE $100 bill wasn’t enough.

I have liked the promo so far, all of the games up until Halo 3 I have never played before so I have no issues with it. But then again, I don’t sit around hating until I get free stuff either, if I want a NEW(ER) game I’ll go buy it.

  • rhooper

Hey guys! I don’t know if it’s a glitch or not… but Zeno Clash is, at this moment (9:20 AM, CET), costing $1 / £0,65.

As I don’t know if it will soon disappear (like Ben 10 was for free for some hours before being delisted), I rushed to download as fast as possible. But, I had to call home and ask my wife to make everything for me through console, because I am already at work and we can’t queue through the website without adding credit card or PayPal (and I won’t make it). This is REALLY annoying…

    • m1nh0ca

      Thanks for the info.
But, damn, I’m not at home… I hope they don’t change until the end of the day.

    • Mystictrust

They really need to workout using your MS account balance from the website. It was easily done with points, why can’t we do it now?

  • Swat

I have a right to voice my opinion just like everyone else.

  • Swat

    I’m so glad that’s sarcasm.

  • Fingleberries

“Where’s my Halo 3???” … Oh, here it is. Sorry, these threads had devolved into a gripe about not getting the promised Halo 3 for so long it just became habit to come here and give out.
Most terribly sorry, do, please carry on :)

  • Kevin Buchanan

I’m going to go against the naysayers and thank you for the announcement. Unsure about M&M but I’ll give it a go and I’ve never played H3 through properly, despite it being recommended, so this is pretty great.
The general level of offers and offerings has definitely improved so I hope you know that some of us appreciate it and I hope that this support on the 360 extends even after the launch of the One as in this age how you treat a console after its prime is likely to be more important than how you treat it at launch, especially if you hope your users follow you to the next generation, doubly so for those who wait a while to make a more considered choice.

  • Monstrous Tard

@majornelson Just double checking before i attempt to download these “Free” games, they are available for free right? and not put up by mistake? I don’t want to end up like a lot of other users and end up being banned for downloading “Free” games…

    • Death Dealer

The people’s consoles being banned are people that have made extra territorial accounts with false information to obtain a free item for that specific region and not their own.
That is against the terms of use as it is basically fraud for personal gain.

      • m1nh0ca

        This makes no sense…
So, the person that needs to change country (because of work, family, studies, whatever – which is my case), he can’t keep his local account and is obligated to migrate to the place he’s living at the moment? If he doesn’t make it, will the console be banned? C’mon…

Besides, it’s not free. The person is, I suppose, paying an additional Gold account to get this game from another territory.

        • Death Dealer

That original account does not contain fraudulent information and will not be banned.
You get one month free Gold with the creation of a new account from the console.

          • m1nh0ca

I don’t know if they changed this feature… but, some time ago, you were able to have three 1-month-Gold-trials, at most, into one console.

After that, any of the new accounts could get this month, they were connected as Silver and asked if they wanted to buy a Gold.

          • Burnt Offering

If the console is in a different physical location than the region of the account and you make a purchase… even if it is DLing a free game, video, music or DLC… then it is very punishable *not only will it lead to a console ban but can also lead to criminal charges in many cases* because you are recieving promotions and prices that are not avaliable to you in your current physical location. That is exactly what this first round of console bans was for. I would suggest you study up on that ToS before you tell people what can and can not get you banned.

        • G-Man

If a person lives in an unsupported region, why would they expect the full services? Again, that is manipulation of the system to gain access to something that is not available to you. Any company would prevent you from accessing their services in that instance, not just MS.

As for the complaint about having to migrate your information, that is not MS just making a policy to make a policy, that is the result of international trade laws and the differences in the national laws. Software isn’t region locked because MS wants it to be. It can be something as simple as the game developer saw no profit for their title to be launched in a specific area and did not play for licensing or product registration and that government then prohibits the sell or distribution of that game in their country. And now, whether you like it or not, where you put your location doesn’t matter as the marketplace requires a verification of your physical IP on most of the software they sell before the download can be completed. MS has started banning people because they are making accounts and altering the IP verification process while downloading the games available in their region as well. Some strange sense of entitlement does not give a customer a right to download a product for free that is not being offered to them.

          • DawaBnu

Maybe they would expect the full services because MS said the console can play online (example: that’s written in the box of the brazillian version of xbox, and it took then years to implement the xbox live in this country)

          • G-Man

So? If the packaging was misleading or incorrect that is an issue for your government’s consumer protection agencies or consumer rights laws, but does NOT give you the right to steal. And having access to LIVE does not mean that you are entitled to every promotion that the service offers.

          • DawaBnu

I didn’t say they could steal because of that, i only explained to you maybe why they would expect the services..

          • Burnt Offering

They are getting the service in Brazil… just not the free promoitional games from other regions that are not an actual part of the service.

          • DawaBnu

Yes, it was just an example. They didn’t have the service in Brazil when they launched the console (and so on for the next 3 and something years), but they still printed the boxes with the xbox live logo and some text saying it plays online. Consumer laws-wise, it’s just plain wrong.

      • Swat

        That’s not bannable.

        • G-Man

It is called “marketplace fraud” and manipulating the marketplace has always been reason for a console ban. MS even used to ban people for marketplace fraud when they contacted support claiming that they were being harassed because of their gamertag, requesting a free change, if the policy enforcement team found that there had been no actual harassment.

        • ZenFranklin

It is bannable because it’s in the Terms and Conditions you agree to when you create the account. You agree that the information is correct that you’re supplying them which is not true in the slightest.

      • Flawless

this is not true at all you dont have to enter any payment information all you have to do is make an email for that region.

        • Burnt Offering

And when they do the physical IP addy check the game won’t finish downloading. Using VPNs will also get your console banned when you connect to live with it on another account that is in a different region. Stop giving people bad info that will get their consoles banned.

          • Flawless

um who said anything about using VPN’s maybe you should follow your own adive and…

“Stop giving people bad info that will get their consoles banned.”

          • Burnt Offering

I gave no one advice about anything. Maybe brush up on your reading comprehension, aye? And it is pretty clear that you are the one that has no clue what they are talking about. Making an email addy in a diffrent region WILL NOT allow you full access to another regions marletplace. You can try to DL anything you want but you will get an error code instead of it completely DLing. You had to use network manipulations like VPNs to get them. Microsoft has already commented about the bans and how they are going to continue to anyone trying to get access to content that is not avalible in their region.

          • Flawless

ok ill say it once more, what youre saying isnt true. youre speaking on something you know nothing about otherwise you would know what you are saying is false, got it?

noone had to use a vpn and your insinuation that you will get an error code is simply not true is that clear enough?

          • Burnt Offering

I’ll say this one last time, you are the one that could not be further from the truth. What I am saying has been officially stated by the MS XBLPET. Let me guess, you know more about the situation than they do? MS released an official statement and you just happen to know that it is all BS and you are far more understanding of the enforcement teams actions than they themselves are? MS employees who maintain community customer service also addressed the issue of these bans and stated what triggered them and how to address them. But you know so much more than they do, right? Idiot.

          • Flawless

you will never get a straight answer from the XBLPET and yes i do know more considering i dled the games so i think im in position to know if i used a VPN or not and whether the dl’s finished or not without using it.

but continue to think MS is giving out straight answers on anything.

matter of fact Xbox Support got caught saying you wouldnt get banned for dling free games from other regions on their official twitter since were going by what MS says LOL.

          • Burnt Offering

You are a complete idiot, a liar and a thief. Customer support has constantly warned against manipulating the marketplace by entering regions that the console is not located in. LOL! The really funny part is that you have no idea who you are talking to so lets have a little fun. Since you are so sure that you cant get banned why not post your gamertag and I will make sure your DL history is checked. We’ll see if you are telling the truth and how long your console will be able to connect to live afterwards.

          • Flawless

ive already stated on here my console got banned dummy. its kind of ironic you said reading comprehension is not my strong point when i clearly said support said you couldnt get banned for it on twitter then backtracked after the fact.

also i dont care if i get banned as im switching to PS4 anyway LOL. and MS can see everyone who dled those games why do you think there was a banwave last week? or were you unaware of that.

dont see why id have reason to lie on here anyway. yeah man im lying about dling some games and getting console banned without using a VPN and the dl’s completed fully and guess what by banning consoles theyve effectively duped all that persons content on it so they can sell it at a profit, good job MS LOL.

whats funny is youre so arrogant about something ive repeatedly told you youre wrong about and as a matter of fact why dont you go ask the people on CAG/Neogaf/TrueAchievements/SlickDeals if they had to use a VPN or if their dl’s finished. either way enough with your idle threats of “having my DL history checked”. only a loser would say something like that real men handle their business off the internet.

  • Adam Pepe

    Halo 3… about freakin’ time

  • peba12

    Yeah, it´s time to say …. … to M$ and say Hello PS4 :)

  • peba12

Welcome to M$ world, greediest company ever.

  • peba12

This “Games with Gold” is a waste of time and bad for your reputation M$…

  • peba12

    I absolut agree with you.

  • Catalyst

Surprised no one has asked if the map packs will be free as well. Otherwise it’s just a free game with $20+ worth of DLC. ODST is like $10 at GS and comes with all the maps for multiplayer, but you can’t install. Just wondering how this is going to play out, since ranked multiplayer still requires all maps to my knowledge.

    • Michael Burden

You obviously didn’t take the time to look over the blog posts as this has already been discussed several times. DLC is not included and not required to my knowledge, but it has been a while since I played Halo 3 online. But there is a good possibility they may have a sale on it as they have done that with some of the other titles with DLC.

      • Catalyst

I read down a bit, but there are just way too many comments. I guess I just didn’t read far enough. Nonetheless my comment stands, and ranked play does require the map packs (social does not). So I just was hoping MS would understand this and make the maps free as well, I mean the game is over five years old…

  • Master Troll

Bf4 exclusive beta not showing up on dashboard???

    • Michael Burden

Only Medal of Honor: Warfighter players and BF Premium players have access to the Beta today. The general open Beta begins Oct 4.

  • NA1D00

Do any of the other marketplaces have a maximum value of the games?
The South African marketplace says we get a total of ZAR 230.00 (Roughly $23.00) worth of games free a month so we’ve been getting different titles compared to the US.

For this half of the month we got Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet.

  • drkfp93

Most of the games MS are offering free are good games, only problem is that they were all popular games so i reckon most people would already own those games. At least in my case i have owned near all the games they have given away so far aside from defense grid and the magic card game.

    • martin_m95

def grid, magic 2013, night and magic, raimbow six vegas, fable 3 are popular? yeah right. (sarcasm)

      • baconcheeswhiz89

        trolololol

        • martin_m95

  • martin_m95

im starting to think that this program is a trap for people from unsupported countries
moneysoft puts in games that are region locked and when somebody tries vpn or any other illegal way to obtain them gets caught and console banned

    • roozbeh, again

      Did you get banned?

      • martin_m95

nah cuz i havent tried anything like that

        • roozbeh, again

Well I have, no ban here

          • martin_m95

            your lucky

          • roozbeh, again

Hey, don’t go after the glitchy discounted games and your in the clear

          • Burnt Offering

But yet in other posts you tell everyone that your account info is legit and you haven’t used illegal means to use the marketplace. Not very smart to post that stuff in a Miscrosoft blog with your handle being your gamertag. And even if it isn’t your main profile they are banning consoles. I have a feeling you are going to be the target of a ton of console reports and a victim of the big MS banhammer.

          • roozbeh, again

The billing information is real, the vpn is of my own creationbased oony own place inthe states. They simply can’t ban me for that especially since I haven’t used it for a while

          • Burnt Offering

If you are using any networking that tricks the system into thinking the console is in a location different than it is… they can and will ban you. Read the terms of use. Even your admission to it here is enough for xblpet to ban your console.

          • roozbeh, again

Well that is just it, I haven’t done it on my current console, so MS have no right to ban me

          • Burnt Offering

MS can ban you for any reason they like. If you broke their policies at all you can be subject to a ban. Check the terms of service.

    • Ricardo Dawkins

You don’t get banned if you use VPN. Cyberghost and many other works.

      • roozbeh, again

You will if you try to abuse the marketplace glitches.

        • Mystictrust

The bans were happening because people were creating or migrating accounts to other regions to download the games – which is not allowed. VPN has nothing to do with it.

          • martin_m95

            isnt migrating a legal option

          • Mystictrust

Yeah, but perhaps people were migrating back and forth and it got suspicious? (I’m not sure if that’s even possible, mind you, maybe it’s just creation and not migration) The main method was people creating multiple accounts with false zip codes. I can’t post a link here or my comment will never show up, but I’m looking at a page that detailed how to get Assassin’s Creed for free by creating an account and putting in info such as Shanghai for the city and a zip code that works there.

Either way, a VPN is just going to mask your current region with another, because the system will see you as logged in from somewhere else. It’s like when I went to the UK and logged in my account, it saw me as in the UK and the Dead Rising 2 DLC couldn’t be downloaded – just cause I’m from the US doesn’t mean anything – it’s based on current region.

          • Flawless

yolu didnt have to enter any personal info to make the accounts to get those games.

          • Mystictrust

Well, according to the “guide” I saw on getting AC3 for free, you at least had to enter in Shanghai and a zip code, as you were prompted for it when you attempt to download from the xbox chinese webpage after creating a brand new live account.

Wouldn’t you at least need to enter your current city when creating a new MS account anyway?

          • G-Man

You can’t migrate an account from one region to the next as often as you like, only once every three months. The console bans were from people creating accounts which claimed to be in a different region to access other free games. They were also banning people who used VPNs and other ISP masking. Everytime you connect the console to LIVE there is a huge amount of information collected. They know something is up when a game is downloaded and the account is supposed to be in the US and ten minutes later another account logs in from Brazil on the same console. And it is making the support forums that MS is no where near done with the bans, they just finished the first wave of them.

          • G-Man

It is if you are actually moving your console from one region to another, not to get another or different free game.

    • evilfangs .

I think the key word in your sentence is “illegal”.

      • martin_m95

        what do you mean

        • evilfangs .

Illegal – Forbidden by law or Statute. Contrary to or forbidden by official rules.

“Any other illegal ways to obtain them”.( them in this case free games )

          • martin_m95

i know what it means i dont understand why you say its the key word

          • G-Man

What he is saying is that they aren’t banning everyone who uses the GwG promotion. They are banning people who are stealing (using illegal -thus the “key word”- means to obtain).

  • Brady Nickell

Really who hasn’t played halo 3 come on another fail

    • roozbeh, again

      I haven’t. So no fail

      • rhooper

Having a X360 and don’t play Halo is like having a Genesis / Mega Drive and don’t play Sonic or a Nintendo and don’t play Mario.

        • roozbeh, again

I’m an idiot who was late to the party

        • Michael Burden

I have a Genesis and NEVER owned a Sonic title for it (but do have Sonic Adventure for the Dreamcast). Also have a N64 & Gamecube and guess what – no Mario games.

        • peba12

          I have a XBox360 for Gears of War 1-2-3-Judgment, not Halo ;)

    • Alf Zombie

      I haven´t.

  • Mikael Soltaniha

I understand that Microsoft can’t satisfy everybody with these games, and I respect their effort. However, most of these games are disappointing. Everybody’s extremely excited for Halo 3 and O.K, cool. Some like Halo, some don’t. I have Halo 3 and it is totally worth it for people if it’s free, but I think MS needs to understand that we want newer games as well. Yes, we can’t have everything. But I’ve paid tooooooons of money for XBL Gold, and have gotten.. well, not much in return. I’d like to see a better diversity of games, i.e: Borderlands 2, Dishonored, Skate 2, Portal 2, Sniper 2, Alan Wake, Metro: 2033, Crysis 1 and such games. Not old, weird arcade games. It’s nice of them to give these sort of games, but in all due honesty, it’s simply not enough to keep me paying for XBL it feels like. C’mon, prove to me that you can make your customers happy, MS.

    • roozbeh, again

I don’t why but I think you will end up slightly burned

      • Mikael Soltaniha

Well, so far nothing. And even if I do get “burned”, I can’t understand for what reason. For stating my opinion (that I assume approximately 80% of people share with me) or because of imbeciles’ fanboyism?

        • roozbeh, again

I meant you will get slightly burned by microsoft. I appreciate the insult though

          • Mikael Soltaniha

Ah. Wouldn’t surprise me.. oh well. Hey – no problem. If you want another one let me know! I’m full of ‘em! ;)

          • roozbeh, again

I can see that you can blabber your mouth too. Fantastic traits you got there

          • Mikael Soltaniha

Yes, it blabbers all the time. Just like your mom’s ass.

          • Digiadam

            +1,000,000 Zing!!!

          • roozbeh, again

            Real mature…

            Oh the glorious internet fools

  • Ivanx360xpira

well, besides some complaints about this program, I hope Games with Gold continues to exist during XBox One era…

    • Mikael Soltaniha

If it would, don’t expect anything more than an indie title every other month. Seriously, MS would go bankrupt if they offered this program for the Xbone. And people fail to understand this, they’re stupid and judge prematurely based on their knowledge.. which is minimal.

  • Rodrigo DeAraujo

What is the GwG for the Xbox Live region of Brazil?

    • rhooper

Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, as in other regions which don’t have Might and Magic.

      It’s a great game!

  • evilfangs .

As GTA online servers are overloaded I guess it’s perfect time to try out Rainbow 6 and Clash of heroes.

  • Anonymous

Look Microsoft, I know that these are good games, but PLEASE give us some freedom. Three of the games released I already have. You have 99 thousand employees. That’s more than Google or Apple. Come on, spend a little more money here.

  • Kevin Buchanan

No. Not what I said. I said “support on the 360″ and I’m not just talking about GwG, I’m talking about maintaining an active “scene”. I certainly wouldn’t expect a GwG programme with the One and as I inferred, I will not be buying a next-gen machine until I can make a more considered choice.

  • todd Wright

might and magic really??? my sister has that on her ds

  • Xhawk27

Least you get to keep these games instead of only Renting them!

  • Ben

This is really a slap in the face to 360 owners. The games are extremely old and cheap. For those who are saying Sony is only “renting” games for free, how many of you have cancelled your live subscription since signing up? I’d assume very few. Which is the same case with PlayStation owners, who will have PS plus for the period of time they have the consoles, thus games for as long as they would own them regardless.

  • http://fyfps.tumblr.com/ Giorgio Tsoukolas

Finally Halo 3. Too bad I didn’t renew my Xbox Live when it ran out last month and that I’m buying a PS4. F*ck your bullsh*t Micro$oft. I’m jumping ship.

    • Guest

      Byebye. Enjoy your $0N¥ PauperStation!

      • http://fyfps.tumblr.com/ Giorgio Tsoukolas

I will. You enjoy getting arse f*cked by Micro$oft.

      • Burnt Offering

Strange logic you have there. So a product that is superior while being less expensive and offering what can be reasonably offered as a better services is a ‘paulerstation?” I guess that would make the new MS console the “X-Overpriced-Undereducated Consumer-Box.”

  • John Smith

so far I’ve already owned every single free game…”wouldn’t u believe it it’s just my luck!” lmfao

  • Guest

You’re a pauper, we get it.

  • todd Wright

wow just played Might & Magic Clash of Heroes it really is the worst game i’ve ever played
i would rather play sick my D**K in the toaster then this

    • Burnt Offering

Congrats on the stupidest comment posted on this blog. Hard to believe that you would rather put your tiny parts in a toaster than get a free game. They should cancel the promotion to stop idiots like you from hurting themselves.

      • todd Wright

play the damn game i dare you . and if the last 4 games are like this then yes cancel the promotion no one would care

        • Burnt Offering

I have played the game and it certainly wouldn’t be something that would cause a normal person to want to put their genitals in a toaster. I mean seriously the game is free… you didnt pay a single penny for it. If it is that bad then dont DL it. That simple. This is not the same thing as PS+ where your part of your subscription is access to free games… this is just a perk for gold subscribers not a feature. The only games they promised was AC2 and Halo 3, both of which they delivered. No one promised you a particular quality or type of game for the rest of the promotion. So maybe it is you that should just “play the damn game,” refuse to DL, switch to PS+, cancel your gold subscription or whatever… just stop whining.

          • Seriously?

Really?? I haven’t even played that game yet and i thought your comment was really funny! I wouldn’t doubt it was a terrible game. To correct you Burnt Offering, the game is NOT free. I pay Microsoft money for Xbox Live so i can play online, it is just a bonus that comes with me PAYING for it. Therefore not free… Very few things in the world are free.. but seriously everyone has to take things so damn literal. Todd i thought your comment was funny.I think it’s really funny that people go on a rant about something and at the end tell them to stop whining, but really that person is whining about them whining, so really at this moment i’m whining about you whining that other people are whining, it’s a vicious cycle. So shut the hell up :)

          • Burnt Offering

Let me correct you. look at your own words.. You say it is a bonus… as in something that is not a part of the service you are paying for… so IT IS free. Show me one part of your service agreement that tells you that you are entitled to free games every month as a part of the paid service. Otherwise your whole statement is a load of garbage where you stated your opinions as thought they are fact. I do find it hilariously hypocritical that you started whining about others wining about others whining. So that would make you the worst of the lot then. So why don’t you ‘shut the hell up.’

  • Adam Pepe

Not really, I’m not even a Halo fan..

  • Chango Ortiz

Damn!!! I just want to know WHY ARE THE GAMES REGION RESTRICTED? I paid my Membership in Dollars… like anyone else… WHY I can’t download some games?… This is really bad!!!

    • Burnt Offering

Region restrictions are not the fault of microsoft. That is issues with the publishers and your government. And you are getting free games… just not the ones you think they should be giving you. Here is the thing… it is a promotion and not a part of the service that you paid for. They could offer you NOTHING for free and you still wouldnt have a legit complaint.

  • Chango Ortiz

I complain because I paid for my membership like anyone else, but the games are region restricted… I wasn’t able to download Rainbow Six Vegas..

  • Burnt Offering

PS+ has been around far longer that the GWG. If Microsoft was competing with Sony the GWG would have been started a lot sooner and wouldnt be ending in December.

  • Burnt Offering

So you are going to complain about getting a free game that most would consider to be far better than the one offered in other regions? Absolute genius on your part.

  • Lord Pexer

So, A month or three ago, everyone was going nuts about the fact that Halo 3 wasn’t free that month, and now, everyone is going nuts about the fact that Halo 3 is in fact free this month? :)

  • Michael

Hey, I know what I want to buy and when I wanted to huy it. Besides I’m holding off on buying anything I’m interested in till after the Games with Gold program ends.

  • Socal71

Might & Magic Clash of Heroes should be re-titled… “Now loading”. I really wanted to like this game but the constant load screens were a bit much.

  • infinitecognizance

You’re bitching for getting a better game?

  • Cerberuz

There sure are a lot of immature people on here who just have to moan about everything… If you don’t like the games you are given free access to play/download every 2 weeks or so then simply don’t download them, downloading of them is not compulsory. if you don’t like Xbox LIVE, Xbox 360 or the upcoming Xbox ONE then again ownership or use is not compulsory or even a mandatory requirement for living, so exercise your right to not buy or use any of them if you so wish.. If you prefer the (some would say lesser) products and services that Sony offers then go to a Sony website where you’ll be among like minded people and you can then stop being that annoying immature whiny-ass little troll that “Gamers” over the age of puberty hate..

  • Twister42

So this Game with Gold promotion is to what, compete with Sony or to try to encourage Live members to keep their Gold till the new gen consoles come…seriously Microsoft, you really think this is working? Read the comments, 1 happy for 9 unhappy. All this is doing is upsetting the majority of your users. Its this attitude of your “gratitude” for our loyalty that is chasing some away..wake up before you loose all your gamers…GAMERS, its a game console remember! Whats the point in bonus games most people dont want, i mean how many people actually play these games for gold games a week after they released? So…is it working, i dont think so. Id rather you fixed your server issues and make games i paid for work like they did 5 years ago than get these games i dont want, maybe then i would consider giving you more of my money for that service. This is just a waste and a shame. Im one member that has had enough of Microsoft’s greed and service deterioration, and now you rub it in my face with this…no no no you do not want my money! I will miss parts of Forza, but not worth all the money for gold anymore. It is more like bronze these days.

    • Seriously?

I hear ya! i have been a Xbox user since the first Xbox, but that all changes this time! Go PS4!

      • Twister42

Myself too, on my 5th xbox, that on its own is a joke but i loved the online gaming, but its not what it used to be and PS has caught up and surpassed…i just hate the ps controller, so need a 3rd party one! At least i can get a decent steering wheel for it though! Microsoft cant even be bothered to fix the dashboard issue which cause there own Wireless Force feedback Wheel to have force feedback issues sorted out, which has been a well documented issue for over a year now and caused my wheel to break. Microsoft simply dont care…its one reason i use Linux and wont ever return to Windows.

    • Cerberuz

Go join PSN Plus then.. You’ll soon get tired of Sony’s dire title, store, home and system updates.. Having been with XboxLIVE since it started I have no idea what server issues you are going on about.. I’m able to get online everynight and play whatever game I choose..

      • Twister42

In the last few months party chat constantly crash in and out, time it takes to log into live on startup is way longer than when it started, games loose connection to server all the time, to mention a few! I am joining plus yes, and for what i want (gaming) its better. I dont care about menu’s i mean how much time is spent in the menu compared to the game. The gaming experience is what matter on a game console, plus the fact Microsoft refuse to fi issues like the force feedback issue with their own product which has been a issue over a year now. Not all have the experience i have as you are happy…but where i am, its a pretty bad service right now!

  • Seriously?

Exactly! Thank You Twister! You are thinking EXACTLY how Microsoft wants you to think.. If you were to go onto the internet and download some program from some site that is “free”, if you think about it, it’s not free. You are paying your ISP a monthly fee, so really that program is however much you are paying your ISP, very simply business. Yes its hypocritical duhh, that’s the point i was making. haha! is it fun being stupid? i guess i wouldn’t know :P

    • Burnt Offering

Your argument is akin to me telling my neighbor that they owe me money for water usage simply because there water ling is under ground on my property. But to address your example, there are plenty of free hotspots and places that offer internet usage, so if you DL something free then you are stealing from them since they paid for it, by your example. The bottom-line is that the game are in fact free because when you purchase live the service and not the games since they are a ‘bonus.’ You can argue it like all you want, but here in the adult world it isn’t that way. And if you thought you were paying for it, you went ahead and purchased the plan not knowing what titles you would be getting and with the disclaimer that the promotion can be stopped at any time without warning or explanation? Not very smart consumer practices. So ya, if I want to know what stupid feels like, you will be the first I ask.

      • Seriously?

Man, it must be good to be you! Where is this little fantasy world you live in where you believe everything in this world is just free! Would you please notice that i mentioned paying YOUR ISP a monthly fee. You are not paying McDonalds free wifi they offer. If the game is so “free” then go ahead and try to DL it without Gold, see how far you get. If its “free” like in your fantasy world, then it should be no problem right? If you pay money in order to get something they claim to be “free” it is not “free” that’s what they want you to believe so you think you are getting a better deal. Hopefully your little brain can comprehend that better, not sure how more simply i can put it. haha!

    • Twister42

Yeah its pretty hard to call something free thats part of something subscription based. Its purely a bonus for gold members. As is the PS hired games but using renting based system to try keep you using the service and giving them a continued income. PS is where my money is going now, just feels right giving them my money rather than Microsoft. Seems all Microsoft want to do is rip people off, listen in on us and watch everything we do and then still try control what it is we do…no thank you! Playstation lets us use whatever peripherals we want to, a logitech steering wheel if we like, a oculus rift headset…anything YOU want…plus if you choose PS+ you get to play decent new release titles as well as the games you purchase.

      • Seriously?

Very true, now if we were talking about when the PSN went down for that week or however long it was, at that time PSN didn’t require PS+ in order to play online, and after they got PSN back up, as an apology Sony gave everyone i believe 2 FREE games? but Microsoft they wouldn’t think to be that thoughtful of their customers.. screw them! They change their mind so damn much, just because they thought something was a good idea and all their customers hated it… So what they are offering a patch at launch to get rid of your SpyBox from checking in through an active internet connection every day or whatever it is… who says they wont release another patch once you have bought their console, to make their console check in again? no thank you!! PS4 FTW!

  • Burnt Offering

Wrong. That simply is not how business principles nor ownership laws work. I think you may want to invest in a dictionary and take that simple business class again.

    • Seriously?

I guess you’re to that point of arguing just to argue?

    • Twister42

Dude wake up..you PAY for GOLD…the games are part of GOLD…so how is it you still think they free? Business, you clearly not listening and nor have you ever heard of a loss leader have you, check that up in your dictionary before you make silly remarks. These games have never been advertised as free games now have they…its always been games with gold, reason being they are NOT free! Its to try get people to stay with gold, and its failing.

There are also some games called free with gold, like Spartacus, or Happy Wars. Games for gold are not free games and never have been advertised by Microsoft as much…FACT!

  • CoMaestro

So, here are my questions for everyone in order to know whether or not this game is free.

When did you buy your Gold?
If later then June, did you buy Gold mostly because of the free games they offered or because of not being able to play any online mode?

If you bought it before June, then stop complaining because this is something of which you knew NOTHING about, and now that you have something extra for your money you’re complaining about it not being good enough. If you bought it later and you bought it specifically because you get free games of which you probably knew the quality since the 2nd game offered was an arcade game.

OT: Excited about getting Halo 3, but hated Might & Magic when i played earlier. Not saying it’s a bad game, but not my cup of tea. Did like pretty much all other games so far, with the exception of Rainbow Six.

  • pulseimpact

Halo 3…still my favorite 360 game.
