I’m at 90% right now, cant wait to start playing! still waiting for pes 14 Games on demand, it didn’t show up yet for some reason :(

  • xusso

I still find silly that I can’t add this to the queue while on the web.
Asking me for my Credit card info every time…
    Oh well…

  • roozbeh, again

Slightly underwhelming but it is only a beta.
    The building though is fabulous.

    • Death Dealer

Yep. But if I do get it, it will be on the Xbox One anyway.

  • DaWhiteBrotha

I keep getting disconnected from the game but every time I go to dashboard I am mysteriously and miraculously connect to Xbox Live at that very second. Very odd.
This is keeping me on the fence about buying the game. Yes! I know this is a Beta. But does everyone remember how horrendous the connection was in BF: Bad Company 2? Rubber banding all over the place.

The real deal breaker in my purchasing of BF4 is the fact EA/DICE has released no information about Rent A Servers. That alone is keeping me waaaaaay far away from a purchase.

I loved playing BF3. Would play for hours and had a blast playing all those matches with friends. But . . . Rent A Servers destroyed BF3. I am a full time student in Radiography — I simply do not have the time to play 500%+ ticket matches. They are not enjoyable and take like 2 hours for just one match.

If EA/DICE would kept the regular number of servers online when Rent A Greed Servers were introduced I could dealt with it. But instead they decreased their servers, and the ones they left up had horrible map rotation to them.

When I think Battlefield and when I play Battlefield, all I want is Conquest Mode with Normal Tickets. That’s it. That’s all I want.

What really frustrates me and leaves me shaking my head with Rent A Greed Servers is that EA/DICE pretty much said, “Hey here is a great idea. Yes, this is the best idea ever. You ready for it? Ok! We are going to now charge you what every other game gives to you for free.”

And everyone jumped on it. Really think these people would pay for oxygen even though it is free.

Never understand it. Rent A Greed Servers just ruined Battlefield for me : (

    • Massamo

no other games do not give you public servers for free they give you peer to peer

  • fastharryDOTcom

very underwhelmed is an understatement….the graphics are worse than the Bf3 beta..not to mention the playability

Now, you can say that this is a beta..but to be honest, the Bf3 beta did not drastically improve…I can see no reason why this one will either…

    • DaWhiteBrotha

Also see my post below. Summarizes a lot of what Battlefield was and where it is obviously going. Very disappointing.

Mainly due to EA/DICE’s greed and lack of communication and transparency — think it is safe to say I will sit this one out.

      • Massamo

the beta is like months old

    • Massamo

its because the HD textures are not on the beta why they are remember the disc had to install for bf3 to get hd textures was samething for bf3 beta and your forgetting about all dust all over the place on that map

    • usrev

what are you smoking? the BF3 beta used low res textures, when you put in BF3 it would ask if you wanted to install the texture pack.

the only big problem with the game is the player counts are too low. 24 players isn’t enough for battlefield anymore. which is why I’m getting it on next gen.

    • beardyman3218

One word…BETA. The Battlefield 3 beta looks terrible when compared to the final release. Guarantee when it releases it will look better than the beta on 360, but if all you are interested in is the visuals then i would wait for next gen.

  • http://www.xbox.com/ Martin Davies

Complete waste of a download! Nothing changes from one BF game to the other!

    • Massamo

alot has changed feel of the tanks feel of the heli when your flying them and so much more

  • usrev

for those just joining, I been in the beta the last week.

there was little lag. the game ran near perfectly with a few texture poping issues. no rubber banding or teleporting when moving. chances are, being friday and open beta now the amount of people joining are going to be huge. be patient.

finding and joining matches were very easy and you got in within seconds. just find a match that has like 18/24 people, join and you are in 99% of the time

the game is using low res textures sort alike the BF3 beta. this is also why the demo is only 1.5gb.

at the surface the game looks like just BF3 on a new map but there are some good changes. interacting with the game world is awesome, vehicles are much more useful as they can have multiple perks, tanks for example have a machine gun, zoom, and counter measures from the start. (Zoom is amazing btw)

the building does fall on the 360, and it still looks pretty good doing so. it’s hard to make the building fall though thankfully. andsome of the best fighting in the game is at the roof in close quarters infantry warfare.

  • roozbeh, again

I wonder what the Chinese think of it.

  • baconcheeswhiz89

not a bad game, the only flaw i have it that it takes tons of shots to get a kill in this game. just sucks when you are in a 2 on 1 situation.

  • StonerSmurf420

“Only in battlefield 4 will you blow the foundations of a dam to rubble” pretty sure I did that in battlefield bad company 1….. anyway, got feeling its gonna be a criss between battlefield 3 and and battlefield 1….. downloaded the beta and about to find out….

    • StonerSmurf420

Figures….. error connecting to server no matter what I do. Not preordering if the multiplayer dont work cuz lets face it the only good campain battlefield had was in the first 1.

  • xbox_gamer

Didn’t like bf3 beta , so didn’t buy the game. After the hype downloaded the bf4 beta and same thing, same game and boring. So I won’t buy bf4 either. Gears of war 3 is better online.

  • evilfangs .

I keep hearing my hardcore BF fans that BF4 is basically the same as BF3 bar a few changes here and then. All these people have said how they hated BF3, my guess is Dice is trying to make BF appeal to the Call of duty crowd.

Anyone who has played, does it feel and play like BF3?

    • slasaru

Everyone is saying BF4 on xbox1 looks just a little better than xbox360 BF3.
That’s the next gen. COD next gen will provide 1080/60 at least, looking like a leap already.

      • usrev

not even close. BF4 is 60fps on next gen btw.

    • ryder4life22187

I don’t think it plays like BF3. I usually play COD over BF3, as I just couldn’t get that into it due to the fact people where sniping on rooftops or these crane structures all the time. BF4 gave me a better impression for a change.

    • usrev

the next gen version is going to be the big change. 64 players much better graphics etc.

the current gen version is basically BF3 with a few tweaks

  • robmc

Glad they put out a beta, it saved me $60.00. I love BF3, but this game is garbage. Dice has never learned how to balance weapons and this game is worse in every way. You shoot a guy while prone with a machine gun and the magic pistol comes and one shots you lol.
There is NO weapon capable of destroying the helicopters. The mounted 50 cal machine guns reward you with hit markers on ALL the targets. I watched one guy snipe a guy with his pistol from the high rise roof. The tanks are a joke, you have to elevate the barrel almost max to shoot a target from one building to the next, and if you are shooting at people with the tank, you get hit markers again unless it is a direct hit. Beta or not this game has turned all of my pals who play BF3 away. Thanks again dice for the demo, saves all of us from wasting our hard earned cash.

    • Swat

A beta is NOT a demo.

      • robmc

Two weeks from gold….it’s a demo buddy.

        • Guerrero Ultimo

I would agree. As much as I liked BF3 there were plenty of issues with it from the “beta” to launch that had to be fixed later. This will be the same way in all likelihood. I think I read somewhere where someone at Dice had said this was to check the network backend.

        • Swat

          …You;re an idiot.

          • robmc

Wow, you just out of diapers junior. What a comeback with insightful commentary. Good luck with the janitor job.

          • Swat

Demo: A short demonstration of the of the completed product.

Beta: Part of the product release cycle. Products in the beta phase will be tested for bugs which will be killed before moving on to the final stage of the development release cycle.

Again, IT IS NOT A DEMO.

          • Vince

I would say it’s a hybrid. It’s purpose is both. Keep in mind the number of patches that was released after the launch of Battlefield 3.

    • Flawless

well in DiCE’s defense i felt the same way about the BF3 beta,i kept falling through the ground and gave up but the retail game ended up being great.

  • StonerSmurf420

So I played it for a little while last night and omg its horrible. Everything from the interface or display or wutver u wanna call it to the in-game mechanics are about 50-100 steps back from battlefield 3. Even the water looks insanely worse. I jumped in the water for a bit and felt like I was swimming through jello with the way it looked.

    • fastharryDOTcom

funny you should say that…..really took a good long look at everything last night and said the same thing about the water…..To be honest, the water doesn’t even come close to wave runner on my gamecube…

  • Master Troll

    The game is horrible

  • H0RIZ0N

    The textures look really bad

  • Swat

China called…they want their wall back.

  • SoulSnatcha

How did yours come up as a 5 GB download? Mine was only 1.56GB…
