A World of Keflings Iron BrigadeThe next set of free games for Xbox Live Gold Members in November will be A World of Keflings and Iron Brigade.

Starting Friday (November 1st) A World of Keflings (Normally US $9.99) will be free for Xbox Live Gold members through November 15th .

Then on November 16th, Xbox Live Gold Members can download Iron Brigade (Normally US $9.99) for free.

The “Games With Gold” program gives Xbox LIVE Gold Members 2 free games to keep each month. A new title will be available the 1st and 16th of each month.

Follow me on Twitter to find out what games will be free each month.

Another month, another questionable choice of games.

Seriously though, enjoying this program, just wish you guys would at least give out minimum 1 retail game per month; sure people complain about getting old retail games, but at least an old retail game is better than an arcade game (most of the time).

But let’s not forget guys/girls, this program is continuing past the xbox one launch; that means if they want people to keep coming back to 360, they’ll need to continually give out some more recent games…… Here’s hoping that happens!

    • martin_m95

i dont think moneysoft would want people to come back to 360.
They will be supporting it for 3 more years and then they’ll forget about it and remove xbox live from it like they did with the first xbox when 360 came out

  • Aidan

Wow, this thread is filled with whiners. I’ve never played Keflings, but Iron Brigade is an amazing game with a lot of longevity and great humor. Why not give these games a chance before trashing them? Let’s be honest, we’re not getting something that came out within the last year, accept that and enjoy the free game Microsoft is offering (which they don’t have to).

    • usrev

if you had a grocery store and I opened up a bigger and better grocery store next door.

I offered a rewards program where every month members got a random item every week

to compete, you decided to offer 2 free items a month, but those items were always lower quality and were about to expire.

prices are the same for both stores and I have just about everything you have but I also have lots of other items for sale

now who do you think would shop are your store when I beat you at every turn.

      • Does Not Equal

To keep that analogy, you would have to charge a large fee just to become a customer for that store. Some people would pay to have access to both stores, but many of us would choose one store and stick with them.

      • Ivanx360xpira

then you discovery that the candies you won are not really yours and if you´re on a budget maybe you won´t be able to eat the candies you won. I don´t know but I think I prefer to stay with the less tasty candy…and I also always can ask to the ower to improve the quality of the candies given…

Not that I think Halo3 is a lower quality candy..In fact I´m sure that the next store has nothing compared to it…

But I confess that sometimes I´d like to see what the other store are giving to the costumer…

        • Disturbed_Court_Jester

And then it turned out that the candies that the lower end store were offering, were actually a trick to lure you in and next thing you know your in someones basement, regretting that you fell for it (Oh and the candy didn’t taste too good.).

  • Lord Incognito

Wow… just looked at the PS+ line up for this month and all I have to say is MS, get your stuff together. As a long time gold subscriber all I can say is you could at least offer some decent games. This month is an absolute joke. Also I understand that PS+ is a rental however for 50 dollars a year to have 18+ “free” games a month compared to 60 dollars (and we still have ads all over the dashboard while PS has no ads among other things) is just a steal. Common MS, you can do better!

    • Xhawk27

Really the last few months on PS+ in North America has been really bad. So bad I am cancelling my subscription.

      • usrev

you have a strange definition for “really bad”

      • Dylan

Hotline Miami is an awesome game! You hate Xcom and Battlefield 3 as well? Seriously? Oh and Kingdoms of Amulur is good too! Hitman Absolution…

      • Lloytron

That PS2 HD game was Shadow Of The Collossus, which is an absolutely outstanding game.

      • Lord Incognito

I was referring to this month in particular because yea compared to the EU PS+ NA gets garbage however this month they are offering Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen (I believe thats what it is called) which mind you came out not even three months ago. Plus Binary Domain and 1 arcade equivalent plus if you own a vita Soul Sacrifice is free (which came out about two months ago). The “Games with Gold” compared to this months offering on PS+ is just pathetic.

    • sentury111

There are more ads on PSN that are more intrusive than on xbox. First boot up the system you see a wave of ads that scroll and then you get the ticker in the upper right corner constantly advertising. But no ads on playstation. Of course you need an update on it every other week as well that takes a half hour to complete.
I’d take party chat over the few PS3 games given out anyway. Along with the stable secure service. The free games are a bonus. At least I don’t own these ones like Halo 3 last month.

      • usrev

um… the only adds on the ps3 dashboard is the very small ticker in the top right that also shows how many friends are online, and messages, and the time. so you are full of it.

the store has some ads but they are usually for content related to what you are looking at. you don’t get adds for doritos when looking for arcade games or anything.

also the adds don’t slow the console down like on xbox. it’s very counter productive on xbox compared to ps3.

        • sentury111

Whatever, if I turn my PS3 on right now I get a full page of ads that keep streaming from bottom to top unless I move to a different tab on the XMB. But you could say the same thing for xbox if you hit the guide button and do everything on your xbox through the guide button. Something that can’t be said for the PS.
In regards to the ads themselves, I’d rather see a Mountain Dew Ad or Doritos than a Credit Card ad. Both systems ads are basically just advertising games, unless you move to the music tab and then you get music ads. I personally like seeing what’s going on so I don’t mind this.

          • Lord Incognito

Sentury, I have no idea what world or rather what country you live in however I’m on my ps3 atm and all the ads I see are the new items in the PS store. Either get your facts straight or get your glasses rechecked because honestly there are no flippin ads. Xbox has ads left and right about state farm, car commercials, Mcdonalds advertisments and so forth, its quite pathetic that for a paid service we have these littered all over the place.

        • MrT26

You don’t even get that ticker in europe, just Singstar (if you count it as an ad, it’s just irritating really), while most pages of the general 360 dash are 3/4 adverts, whether for games, films or rubbish lagers.

      • Lloytron

Wrong, Xbox ads are way moe intrusive.

      • Ty’s Blog

Sentury, are you referring to the What’s New area on the XMB?
You realize you can turn that off, right? Just go to System Settings > Display [What's New] and set it to ‘Off’.
It doesn’t disable the entire tab from displaying on your XMB, but at least you’ll no longer load directly into the ‘advertisement’ every time you turn your PS3 on.

Also, what are these system updates you speak of? Not sure how long your version of a week is, but there has only been 5 system updates throughout the entire year of 2013. Last update was on October 1st, to coincide with the release of GTA Online.
The last Xbox Live update was released on August 26th, which was just two months ago.
There’s only been 3 Xbox 360 updates in 2013. Compared with Sony’s five, that’s hardly a big difference.

Also, you mean to tell me you would seriously take ‘party chat’ over the ability to download high quality, triple-A video games? Seriously man? That’s not normal, especially when you consider how the PS3 and Xbox 360 are both video “game” consoles. Gaming should come first, wouldn’t you agree?

Don’t get me wrong, I love my Xbox 360. Plan to get a One this coming April. However, you must admit that the Games with Gold offering has thus far been lacking, in terms of both quality and age.
Aside from a few solid titles, most of these games don’t justify a proper purchase, and if not for this Games with Gold program, I doubt anyone would have considered them otherwise.

This months games, specifically World of Keflings, seems rather… different. Not sure what to think of it, yet. I’ll probably enjoy them for a day or two, and then never play again. Still, a days worth of entertainment is fine in my books.

  • Xhawk27

You people forget that you get to keep these games, not just rent them. Stop paying and you have no more Playstation games.

    • Rafik Bouchaala

      please go away

      • sentury111

This is a xbox blog. Not PSN. What are you doing here?

        • Lloytron

What are we doing here? Being let down by MS again, that’s what. GoG doesn’t live up to their announcement.

      • sentury111

This is an xBox blog. What are you doing here?

    • Lloytron

lol, keep telling yourself that that makes a difference. You’d let the sub expire if you didnt want access to the games any more.

Its like saying Xbox online is worse than PS online because you can’t use it if you don’t pay for it any more.

    • usrev

why would I not pay $5 a month when I get games like dragons dogma dark arisen? that game is like $40 retail. if that was the only game we got it would be a great bargain, but wait there is more.

Binary domain will be free too, I’ve hear good and bad, oh sony why are you throwing more games at me?

Ibb obb is fun looking co-op game annnnnnnd there is more

Contrast and resogun on ps4 for free on day 1?? I don’t even have to buy a ps4 game when I pick it up.

sony… I don’t sit in the house all the time but… wait…. soul sacrifice and oddworld strangers wrath HD on the vita? soul sacrifice is considered one of the best vita games out there, arguably one of the best hand held games tbh.

oh, and this is 1month of stuff….

      • Ivanx360xpira

fact is Sir, that despite some truth in your comments you love to drop the F bomb around here…you just wait MN announces GwG and/or Deals of Week to start this PS stuff every single time!! Maybe it should be more productive to play your free games (to earn some trophies) than come here and tell what everyone knows…

  • Altered

    …you serious?

  • Joseph Guzman

Wow! Just wow! That is pathetic!

  • Lloytron

    Lots of analogies in this thread but none of them are accurate. This is more like it;

I run a high performance sports car rental service. For 1000 pounds a year you can rent any of the cars I have on offer, for as long as you like. Take as many Ferraris, Mazeratis, Porsches as you like! Just remember to bring them back after the year, or give me another 1000 when the year is up.

My friend next door runs a scrap metal merchants. For 1000 pounds a year you can pick up any of his cars. He has a wide selection of Ladas, Take your pick! Occasionally he’ll get a decent car in but this is a very special occasion. The best part – you can keep the cars! But you can’t sell them or trade them. Once you take them, they are your forever. (You can crush them if you want)

    Who’s showroom would be busier?

    • AC130

      Bad example.

      • usrev

        more like a terrible example.

        • Lloytron

Care to explain? The model is exactly the same

          • AC130

Google is your friend. Use him once in a while.

          • Lloytron

Now there was me thinking the point of a discussion was to actually make some points! What is your point?

All you’ve said is my example is bad, without bothering to offer any explanation.

Should I just google “what on earth is this guy on about?” And see what comes up?! ;)

          • AC130

Well considering PS+ is not a rental service as you own all games you download and can continue playing them as long as you have a subscription. So going with your analogy one would say I pay 100 pound to get access to a couple thousand pounds of cars that I then own. I can continue adding to this collection and only have to pay 100 pound once in a while to ensure that I can continue accessing and expanding my personal collection.
Then there would be the other dealership already giving you quality mechanics for a subscription with their club now they decide that they are not going to weather so well next to such an awesome subscription service. So they come along and offer a service involving getting 2 BMWs a month and these are those old battered ones (If you want you can say old and reliable) to compete with the vast array of supercars next door.
Now they shall act surprised when everyone heads next door to check out the Bugatti.

          • xbox_gamer

Xbox can give away games to keep but if you dont have gold you cant play online. so the laggy poker game they gave away cant be played without gold for online play But I can play kill zone3, uncharted 3 and saints row 3 free online with plus .Three games that beat any gold game xbox gave out save ac2

      • Lloytron

How so? The main argument about PS+ versus GoG is that you can’t keep the games.

Try selling or trading any of the GoG games that apparently are yours to keep

    • usrev

it would only be accurate if no one else could use the cars you “keep” and no selling either they are also very old and have issues. plus they are gas hogs.

      • Lloytron

We have lots of cars, everyone can have any model they like, no problem.

    • EldritchWarlord

A better analogy would if both services offered mostly good, non-luxury cars with the occasional Ferrari or Porsche. The first one just offers a larger selection.

      • Lloytron

Not so, PS+ is full of recent triple A titles, month in, month out. GoG is full of games that were originally quite cheap with the occasional incredibly old AAA title thrown in for good measure.

        • Ärmätèsz

ps+ is nothing more than a fancy rental program… you are not owning any of those if you have to pay a membership to keep playing them

          • Lloytron

Yes, but just like in my analogy the rental program offers far better value. Remember GoG also requires a sub and what you can ‘keep’ (try trading in all these crappy freebies) is generally of far lower quality, with the rare exception.

Someone didn’t understand my analogy, did they?! ;)

          • Ärmätèsz

It kind of threw me off with the fact if the ps3 servers shut down… everyone loses all those games that they thought they got for free… I hated that fact

          • Disturbed_Court_Jester

Same thing will happen with the 360 when it’s servers shut down, if something happens to your Xbox or it’s HD then they also go bye bye.

          • Ärmätèsz

I think I’m well enough to take care of things and to make sure I have them backed up.

          • Disturbed_Court_Jester

Illegitimately sure, but the same could be done on the PS3.

          • Ärmätèsz

            time will tell

          • Lloytron

That’s a very big IF, and an unfounded complaint. If that happens alternatively they could simply make sure they never expired.

          • Ärmätèsz

kind of doubt they would do that

          • Lloytron

That’s like saying you don’t like Xbox Live because if that shuts down you can’t play online any more.

          • MrT26

They’ll keep the servers up to let people redownload their purchased content as well as PS+ stuff, the equivalent would be Xbox Marketplace shutting down entirely.

          • ElektroDragon

PS+ is now required for PS4 online just like Gold will be. So the “rental” analogy is idiotic.

          • Ärmätèsz

Perhaps to you but still it is a legit reason

        • EldritchWarlord

Games with Gold has offered half GoD titles and half Arcade titles. About half IGC titles are retail games.
IGC retail games have been largely 2nd rate games or older great games, GwG’s GoD offerings fit the second category.
Let’s not forget that the first 2 years of Sony’s IGC were all cheap downloadable games.
Speaking of incredibly old games one of Sony’s recent offerings is a game that’s two years older than the oldest GwG game.
I’m not one to complain about either service. I just have no patience for these incessant inane comparisons.

  • Rick Sawyer

how about a good rpg no tactics style like the last crappy rpg that was free

  • Limbonik

They don’t have to give us any decent games this month because they know people will pay for Gold just so they can play GTAV. Maybe December we’ll see something better…then again it IS Christmas time so we’ll probably get coal and a blockbuster game sale of titles from 3+ years ago discounted by a massive savings of 5-10% their original, still not-depreciated prices!

    • Mark Capell-helm

good point so glad ive got GTAV on the PS you can forget anything decent november or december as they want ppl to spend on new games then in janruary they will say we are stopping GwG due to poor customer response or enthusiasm

  • Bennijin

    YOU COMPLETE OUT-OF-TOUCH DINOSAURS.

  • Ärmätèsz

I already own iron brigade, it is an interesting mech game to some people

  • Bennijin

Stranger’s Wrath I hasten to add is a PS3/V exclusive (despite being exclusive last gen on the original Xbos) because Microshaft wouldn’t let them exceed the 2GB size limit.

So not only do we get no exclusives but games we should have gotten are turned away due to restrictive policies put in place by the fossils running this charade. Running it into the ground.

    • Dylan

Stranger’s Wrath is such a great game, I remember playing it on the original Xbox. Hopefully they can make a sequel some day.

  • Wisman Yen

So old and small games..please give us something big…

  • Bennijin

Actually this is VERY different to Defense Grid. And despite using (ugh) Avatars, Keflings is a top title. Give them a chance, even though GWG is awful these two particular games aren’t.

  • Bennijin

    Bring back 1vs100!

  • Bennijin

If they gave away the DLC for free as well it might soften the blow.

  • sockmanus

I would have preferred if 2 times a month an xbox employee came and shat all over my living room. At least it would be hilarious to watch.

    • Lloytron

If my job application to MS gets accepted I’d be more than happy to oblige

  • Tim Osborne

Two games I’d thought about buying previously but never got around to. Thanks

  • Bennijin

But with the games you get why would you ever let it expire?

Added to that, Sony have been very clever by making + required to play most PS4 games online. Now players have less reason than ever to let it run out. Smart move on their part.

  • Bennijin

    You’re missing the point.

  • ElektroDragon

Iron Brigade, great choice, but everyone and their wife has A World of Keflings already.

  • ElektroDragon

Take a look over at PS Blog to see what Plus gets in November by comparison. You will pass out.

    • EldritchWarlord

Seems pretty equal as far as quality goes. Why are people supposed to pass out?

  • Terranoid

Wow, the worst two choices so far.

  • Bennijin

Because there are no good Kinect games.

    (Sorry, couldn’t resist!)

  • Alec ajdyeg

Why are they giving us 2 arcade titles this month? There not even that good

    • Justin Stewart

yeah I guess Microsoft doesn’t want to make actual good games free.

  • PurpleBunny

I posted this on a well known gaming forum, Gamespot, and a previous article.

“Will Microsoft reimplement the 24 hour check-in during the One’s lifecycle?

There seems to be a fair few people, myself included, wary about the Xbox One due to their (former?) stance on used games and the infamous 24 hour check-in.

The Xbox One will require an internet connection at launch, and statements such as the ones made by Phil Harrison (below) suggest they are still looking at implementing some, if not all, of their previous policies.

“Microsoft has “really exciting things” planned for the Xbox One after its launch next month, corporate vice president Phil Harrison told Edge in a new interview. Despite policy reversals this summer, Harrison said Microsoft’s “fundamental vision” for a digital-based future remains in place, though the company has “reordered priorities a little bit.”

“Our long-term vision hasn’t changed at all,” Microsoft corporate vice president Phil Harrison told GamesIndustry International. “We haven’t diluted our long-term vision, which is all of the benefits of a connected ecosystem and what that means for all of the stakeholders–us, developer, publisher, and crucially, the player. None
    of that has changed.”

Taking these statements at face value and the fact that the Xbox One will require an internet connection at launch. Do you think it is feasible that Microsoft will reimplement the previous policies?

Myself – I would welcome a press release from Microsoft that directly states there will never be a requirement to check-in for offline gaming during the Xbox One’s lifespan. I would also welcome a statement/reversal/reiteration of the policies regarding digital content – bringing back family sharing, trading, and loaning of
digital content – and I do think there is every possibility that these policies will come back at a later date.”

Here are the results, Troll options were added to weed out dud votes:

Will Microsoft reimplement the 24 hour check-in during the One’s lifecycle? (92 votes)

    Yes. 36%
    No. 24%
    Maybe. (Your vote) 15%
It was a great idea, I want them to! #dealwithit 8%
    Don’t care. 5%
For digital content only, yes. 3%
    PS4 says what? 3%
All of the above – lol. 8%

Personally, I think this limited poll shows that the damage from the reveal is starting to subside, and the recent focus on games is helping to rebuild some of that lost trust. Really looking forward to DR3, KI, and Ryse, but I won’t be one of the early adopters this time around. (I picked “maybe”, and I’ll wait to see what policies return.)

On topic: “Games With Gold” looks like a nice incentive, but the offerings so far have been lacklustre.

    • Jason

I think you should have left it on that forum.

      • PurpleBunny

Perhaps. People get pretty defensive here.

        • Jason

          They also get paranoid.

          • PurpleBunny

They’re coming to get you, Barbara.

    • Billy Franklin

And what has this got to do with these free games ?

      • PurpleBunny

It’s certainly more interesting than these two games.

  • Brett Maddox

why is microsoft so cheap really>> sad times call for sad games i guess… not downloading at all

  • Brett Maddox

    sad

  • Brett Maddox

purple bunny needs a life lol

  • Jason

I picture some of you as real creepy. It is like you like Burger King, yet you hang out a McDonalds just to tell their customers how much you don’t like the Big Mac. I picture most of you hanging around the potato chip aisle just waiting for someone to pick up Doritos so you can tell them how much Doritos suck and why Ruffles is the best.
It is like you can’t enjoy the things you like without trying to ruin what other people like.

    • Brett Maddox

again what does this have to do with microsoft giving us crappy games??

      • Jason

        Everything, and nothing.

        • Brett Maddox

well the way i look at it is they claim they are rewarding its customers with free games yea fine and dandy but then when we get lame stuff like this that no body plays whats not to hate most of the games they gave away i already paid 60 bucks or better for em when they was first new…so wheres the reward?? personally its a slap in the face

        • Brett Maddox

enjoy ur rufffles n dortios im sute they taste better then theese tastless games they have to offer us thanks but ill pass

      • EldritchWarlord

        These aren’t crappy games.

        • Brett Maddox

well play away enjoy the stuff u never could afford nows ur chance to buy it

          • Brett Maddox

            i know right lol

          • EldritchWarlord

I intend to enjoy these games. Though it isn’t that I couldn’t afford them, I just never got around to buying them.
Though why would I buy now? They’ll be free in a matter of days.

    • Monstrous Tard

Just because people dislike something about a product, doesn’t mean they dislike the product entirely, not everyone is like you and have to agree with every little thing this company does.

      • Jason

        Clearly.

        • Brett Maddox

well its like this you paid for something u enjoyed then they turn around and give away something you paid money for thats not fair to the peson who had to buy it

    • PurpleBunny

It’s weird. People pay for Gold for access to online multi-player, right? Free games are just another added bonus. Enjoy them?

Also, hanging around comment sections just to downvote comments is definitely creepy.

      • Monstrous Tard

Meh, They are only giving these away for free due to them releasing another
console and the 360 is nearing the end of it’s life span, they have
never gave away any free games until the announcement of the Xbox One
and even then when giving away free games, MS have to take the
opportunity to use the games they give away as advertisement to sell its sequels, all but 4 games that have been given away have sequels releasing on the Xbox One and the 4 that don’t are just fillers games that didn’t sell very well. They’re trying to spend the least amount of money as possible for these and trying to leave a good taste in customers mouth to get them to buy a Xbox One.

  • HGamer

    Iron Brigade 2 please!
    Or more DLC for IB1!

This is a great game with potential. If M$ gives it more chances, it can become a long-term franchise.

    • Brett Maddox

that prolly wont happen only one can wish tho right theres alot of titles id like to see second or third or forth parts too like they promised us blade kitten 2 and it never came to light even the discript says one part of two parts

    • EldritchWarlord

When was the last Double Fine game to get a sequel? I can’t remember any.
Shame, most of them show so much potential.

      • Brett Maddox

        double fine??? uh what?

        • EldritchWarlord

          Double Fine developed Iron Brigade.

          • Brett Maddox

            ah ok lol my bad

      • HGamer

Iron Brigade IP is owned by M$. I remember DF once said that any more content would depend on M$.

In fact, if M$ want to, they can even find another developer to do IB2.

      • Jedi Dna

Its a shame! Id love to see Brutal Legend 2!

        • HGamer

They had plan for that, but the sales was below expectation and the project got cancelled.

  • Liquidfx Xboxdude

LOL thanks?????? the only fun i have gotten out of the gwg is how bad the choices are. they aren’t bad games for the most part, but bad choices for free games to thank loyal customers. its just too funny.

  • Brett Maddox

heres an idea what if microsoft actually gave us a choice variety of games for free instead of them picking the free games they should put out a variety of games to be voted on for the month one gets the most votes wins whose with me on this??

    • HGamer

I say there is even no need to vote. Just give us a number of games to choose, and each player picks the one they want and download it for free. Each player can only pick one.

      • Brett Maddox

just a thought but im sure they cant simply just give a game away like gta5 or something that would cost em money then the company who made the game wouldnt make money and then they wouldnt make any more games

        • GmailIsDown

how about giving back Microsoft currency credits each month that will expire after 3 months or something and can be used to purchase anything on the marketplace

          • Brett Maddox

or they should let us trade in our downloaded games for some money or points like gamestop does…power to the players!!!!

        • HGamer

$ony pays game companies for the free games they give through PS+. M$ can certainly do the same thing.

        • Twister42

Most of the games Sony give on PS+ are not full games, thus if you like the free game you end up buying from the game company, more addons and they make plenty. IE battlefield 3 was the basic version no map packs, no premium. You get a free AAA game but spend money on extras for it and its a win win for everyone. More sales that way for the game company and much much better exposure of their product.

  • Brian Ghattas

So, where’s the Minnesota Republican with the oversized head and Halo shrine to praise these great selections for November?

  • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

@Major sorry for being out of subject, but i try my luck here so maybe someone can answer. I was looking for that “takedown” game from selleran which is released and supposed to be on xbox live market, but even though i find it on the market, i have no option to buy it. Does it mean it’s not available in our region ?

    • Brett Maddox

it was on there they prolly replaced it with teletubbies or something

      • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

what a brillant reply, if we ever need to move human to another planet, i guess you’re going to be in that trip

    • GmailIsDown

you mean this game? i can see the “buy” button http://marketplace xbox com/en-US/Product/Takedown/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258550a3d

      • Monstrous Tard

He’s talking about the game Takedown: Red Sabre.

        • Monstrous Tard

          I think.

          • GmailIsDown

i’ve read that this game was pretty much broken

  • Brett Maddox

heres a true story that happened to me recently…i download alot of games from the market place they recently had gta4 on sale with all the dlc…so i bought it waited for it to download and the game never downloaded..whats sad is my black ops2 downloaded perfectally before gta4 …i had plenty of memory left so i called xbox support..long story short after all was said and done they wanted to give me one free month of gold for the 35 bucks i spent on the game and contents..the guy even suggested i go out and buy a 30 dollar memory stick just ti get the game downloaded talk about cheap

    • DarkNightRJ

I don’t see the problem? Just saying you don’t have enough hard drive space? How is that their fault?

  • mightywombat

Glad it’s World of Keflings, loved Kingdom so this is great! Always wanted to play Iron Brigade as well, so that will be great to play as well! Not full retail games, but these are quality; good stuff.

  • http://fyfps.tumblr.com/ Giorgio Tsoukolas

Screw this. Playstation 4 here I come.

    • Master Troll

      Nice avatar pic

    • robmc

      Bye !

  • イサム オミナエ

I said once and I will repeat again: The sales/pr team are bunch of casual monkeys.
PlayStation Plus deals still light years better than those gold membership weak deals.

  • GmailIsDown

Microsoft you need to keep up and beat Sony’s offerings. For November, Sony will offer the following games for free for PS+ members in US:
Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen (PS3), Ibb & obb (PS3), Resogun (PS4), Contrast (PS4), Binary Domain (PS3), Oddworld: Strangers Wrath (PS Vita), Soul Sacrifice (PS Vita).

Yes you read it right. It includes recent AAA games and brand new PS4 games.

    • ryder4life22187

This is exactly why I got a PS3 recently have been loving the PS+ games lately. Used to hate the idea but once you try it you might love it.

    • billy middleton

unlike sony, the games Microsoft are giving away will work even when your gold membership has ended.
      psn+
when your subscription ends so does access to the free games, I should know, I cant play the “free” games at all now

      • slasaru

Man, most of us already agree to have games rented
Even if you make a half year period of validity for the downloaded

        • billy middleton

i would love a better selection of games but sony is renting the game out to people so sony do not need to pay the publishers a full price but a minor fraction of it.

Microsoft are giving away the game for free for life which means they have to pay the publishers the full price of the game and for the amount of people who download it.

that’s why were all getting old games and a lot of smaller cheaper arcade games.

i would die if they slipped out some of the triple A or even double A titles

          • slasaru

MS have a bunch of first party exclusives. But we dont even see them on sales. If you give two of them every month, its enough for a year. And you just rent then, nothing to lose! Its a win-win!

          • Lloytron

So basically what you are saying is, Microsoft got the business model wrong.

Nobody would have complained if these games were only free whilst you were a gold member – you need to be one to begin with to actually get them.

      • Limbonik

Unless you delete them from your HDD at any time once you download them.

If you do, you will never be able to download them again for free; you’ll have to pay to get them back. (I lost Dead Rising 2 that way).

        • Some guy

You can’t use the download history to get it back?

          • Limbonik

I tried that, believe me it was the first place I went to look for it again. I could not re-download it (even though it’s in my download history) but when I click on it it takes me to the purchase screen.

I contacted MS to see if this was in error and was told specifically by Support that I would have to purchase the game in order to redownload it once the 2 week period was passed. :(

          • evilfangs .

Nope, sorry you’re wrong. You can go into your account history and download them again. I just did it with Dead Rising 2 / Crackdown and it allowed me to download them again for free.

          • Limbonik

I can’t be wrong when all I did was say exactly what occurred for me (which was me trying to re-download from Download History and the game wanting me to re-purchase.)

So then it’s MS Support who is wrong. (As they are the ones who specifically told me what I posted on here.)

So…one head doesn’t know what the other head is doing? Sounds about par for the course over at Redmond.

        • http://www.carincress.com/ Xenmic

Limbonik: you are just plain wrong. Once a game is purchased, it can be downloaded again as many times as you like, forever. This is true even if the game is no longer available.Get your facts staright before posting.

    • Some guy

It’s not fair, you forgot to include the mind blowing deal of the week that include games such as GTA 4, Bioshock, GTA 4, Borderlands, GTA 4, Bioshock, Borderlands and GTA 4!

  • Jedi Dna

MS, your 97% approval for Games with Gold just went down!!!

    • Twister42

How did they even get that 97%, i was never ever asked if i was happy with Games with Gold, so did they only ask 100 people they assumed would say it was fine? Out of my friends, not 1, NOT 1 thinks is a great system, they ALL think its a waste of time and a insult to xbox users. Im not supporting this company next gen thats for sure…that will be my way of saying thank you for this insulting gesture!

      • Xhawk27

MS should rent games like Sony is doing too!

        • Twister42

That would be a better idea for sure, if they cant beat the competition at least they would be equal then and would not been seen in such bad light.

          • Xhawk27

If PSN gets better then they might. Right now XBL is better than PSN on current gen systems when it comes to the Online service.

          • Twister42

I agree about the online service, chats, being able to cross game chat and so on, but lately the parties crash a lot too. I prefer the appearance of xbox a lot more than PS but it PSN is offering some quality games, then once you playing them i will much rather have that and prey they get their other side polished a bit better. Depending where in the world you are, XBL service is not what it once was!

          • slasaru

So we actually have to wish PSN to win and xbox live to suck. And then they will make some efforts. Oh that strict love like disciplining a child!

          • Lloytron

But you keep saying PS+ is rubbish because you can’t play the games if you let the subscription expire…

So by that virtue XBL is worse than PSN because you can’t play online if you let your XBL expire!

See how flawed your own logic is there?

          • Limbonik

You also can’t access Netflix or Hulu w/o a subscription to Gold. So basically you’re paying THREE TIMES. (Once for Internet, once for the actual Netflix service and once for the “privilege” of accessing your Netflix from your Xbox.

Which is pathetic since they said we had to pay for Netflix access because they “offer great features like voice chat so you can talk to your friends”…while you’re watching a program? Then with the Dash(ADS)board update last year they removed that “feature”; and yet conveniently continue to charge people to access Netflix regardless.

          • slasaru

If they make it, over half of the PS population will migrate to xbox, strange that MS do not understand it. Xbox 360 was always selling better than ps3 and the latter started to dominate because of psn plus games. People even tolerate terrible gamepad and worse network service. Because its games!

          • Twister42

Man the PS gamepad is horrid, made for a 2 year old, but that can be sorted with some modding or after market gamepads.

      • EldritchWarlord

Yes, I’m sure your survey with a sample population of 5-15 people who make up a single social group is just as valid as a survey of a randomly selected representative sample of Xbox Live users.
Seriously, do you not understand statistics at all? Did it never occur to you that you and your gang of entitled ignoramuses was the 3%?
What kind of moron feels insulted when free games (irrespective of which games exactly) are added to a service you had been paying for at no additional cost?

        • Twister42

Firstly my friend list is full so thats 100 people not a mere 5-15, secondly since you want to call me a moron let me call you the moron for allowing them to include you in their “stats” that you had nothing to do with. Its easy to release fake stats when you only get or show the positive replies. I find the way Microsoft conduct themselves insulting and the fact they release stats, which i have yet to hear of anyone actually partaking in to the world to say how popular it is when clearly people are not happy with it insults me, my business and my worth to them. This is meant to be our reward for out years of support, then they give us games that are either terrible, or played to death 5 or more years ago, whats the point of that? Where you ever asked in an official survey at all about your opinion of the games with golf promotion? So because i stand up saying hey wait…we were never asked how did they get this result now im a moron…clearly it is you who has no idea how real world stats work!

          • EldritchWarlord

My mistake, I thought that by “friend” you actually meant someone you knew well enough to be realistically capable of finding out their opinion on something in an unbiased fashion without specifically endeavoring to do so. At least now I know you actually meant “acquaintance”.
So did you poll your many acquaintances fairly? Which is to say did you ask them all the same question in the same form in settings that minimize peer influence? Most importantly did you receive their answer prior to you explaining your own opinion and reasoning for it?
Now, this is just pure speculation on my part but I’m pretty sure the answer is “no.” It’s well known that angry people are more prone to sharing opinions so it’s likely you often gave yours before hearing theirs. Of course you also probably talked to some in group settings were peer pressure influences forthrightness.
Moving on from your methodology are you seriously saying: “They didn’t ask me so the poll is invalid”? There is no expression that more clearly demonstrates a lack of familiarity with statistics.

        • Twister42

Plus if you include my other accounts as i have more than 1 xbox, all those friends, all their friends, plus the fact my business sells Microsoft products xbox included and you include my clients response, their friends response, plus the response of my supplier about the countrywide response to Microsoft right now, those stats dont add up at all…but i suppose im still a moron right for questioning something!

    • slasaru

May be someone from the competitor hacked their system and mocking us right now? And there should be great AAA games instead! This thought makes me feel happy

  • JustAnotherGamer

    Wow this is lame

  • Brian

two really old XBLA games…… come on MS. Check out PS+ offerings for November. And yes I have both systems and both online services.

    • Guest

For the lazy, the free PS3 games for November are Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, ibb & obb, and Binary Domain.

      • martin_m95

        dragons dogma is awesome
oh boy why did i choose a 360 over ps3
i really horribly regret my decision now

        • slasaru

I had ps3 but sold it. Apart from psn plus it was of no interest for me. And gamepad was terriible. And all my achievements are there on xbox. And did not want to pay for two subs. This is why i am choosing xbox one as well

      • Xhawk27

A game I never heard before and you can buy it for $20 at gamestop I bet. Also it most likely sucks!

      • Lloytron

The PS+ EU offering is even better! We get Metal Gear Rising and Remember Me as well as a ton of other stuff.

        • slasaru

But you do not get the best thing – the HOPE!
          ))

      • Nick Peck

All meh games to me so I won’t bother for another month with ps+ lol.

        • Liquidfx Xboxdude

that’s ok you’ll have kefflings to play with.

  • イサム オミナエ

The high quality games that PS+ “give to you” is just a reason to keep paying the service since If you decide buy those games separate, they will cost hundreds of $.

The low quality games that live gold give to you is just a reason to not renew your gold subscription. Most of those games are old, more than half are bad, and almost all games If you decide buy separate (live silver), will cost you a bargain/or they even worth to buy.

    That’s a fact!

  • martin_m95

i better have a great game for the duration of my premium than a garbage forever

  • Achtlos

It’s the 1st in Australia already can I have them? (Of course not….)

    • martin_m95

world of babylings is free for me but its not worth my hdd space

    • Achtlos

My bad… it is for me too

  • Achtlos

“For xbox live golf members” nice

  • beardyman3218

I’m not even going to comment on these games. Is xbox one going to support playing music while playing games, does it support dlna and does it support more codecs e.g. MKV,FLAC.

    • slasaru

It should be tracked down. Even Sony / Yoshida did not know people are using these features )

    • evilfangs .

Major Nelson said on Twitter he was going to track down the answers to these questions.

  • Vito

Please don’t stop this “offer” on December, it’s a great anti-piracy stategy for me!!!

    • martin_m95

not sure if youre sarcastic or not

      • Vito

No Martin, I’m serious :) I know a lot of people that use modded Xbox to play games then I think that with this opportunity they know the value of legality. Only this mind…nothing bad

    • slasaru

Its over 720 posts already. If we make 1080 may be Microsoft and Major Nelson will listen to us and stop mocking at last and provide decent games.

I am more than sure people will agree to have them in rent like in PSN

      • martin_m95

and almost all of these posts have to be with how much that garbage and the whole program sucks

        • slasaru

People are just frustrated, thats all

        • Nick Peck

Spoiled crybaby “gamers”… man I hate where things have gone over the years. Social media needs to die, so sick of the legion of tards out there, makes me sick.

The program has been great, pretty much every game they have released I never played so I have had a lot of fun.

    • Nick Peck

They already stated this promo won’t end and will continue on, so there’s the answer :D

  • desosav

hey guys stop arguing. The games are free for golf members “The next set of free games for Xbox Live Golf Members”. We are gold members. Something better for gold members they will offer, I hope. :p

    • Liquidfx Xboxdude

      LOL i missed that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
