Get Hands-On with Forza 5 at Microsoft Retail Stores

Starting today, you can stop in at any of the over 75 Microsoft Stores and get your hands on Forza Motorsport  5 and of course the Xbox One controller. Plus, next week I’ll be Las Vegas Store (Thursday, November 14th) and Oklahoma City (Saturday, November 16th) if you want to join me at either one of these location.

I’m going to the Roseville or San Francisco store

    • Dylan

The one in Stonestown mall? Or is there one downtown?

  • Rykin

Finally getting some love in OKC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • xbox_gamer

Question? I watched the video about xbox 1 dashboard and it was fast with kinect. I noticed they used avatar pictures. I thought avatars weren’t being brought over from 360 ? I hope they are though?

    • Major Nelson

They are brought over. But if you want the use one of the new HD versions, you can use one of those instead.

      • xbox_gamer

Ok great and glad to hear. I love avatars are used on windows phones too so this is good. Thanks for the info.

Closest store is 1 hour away from me, I guess I will just wait the 2 weeks (today is the 8th, 2 weeks from now is the 22nd), I pre-ordered this one so I will just have to wait…
    Looking forward to it…

  • Jack Waterson

Went to the store in Corte Madera today and played Forza 5!

Awesome news about OKC, are you only going to the store event or hanging out locally before or after?

  • roozbeh, again

Man, I really like this game. But with only 200 cars and 20 tracks, I might as well wait for the GOTY version

    • Pete

20 tracks, wow they’ve added 6 more. It was only 14 last I heard :-(

Sad and very nearly, but not quite, a deal breaker.

      • roozbeh, again

I am buying it. Just not at launch

    • Dylan

      300 less cars than Forza 4 :(

      • roozbeh, again

Makes you think what’s making the game so big?

        • Gazza!!!

          Disc locked DLC…

    • Jorge Garza

I bet you will not complete at least 1 track with every car on the disc.

      • roozbeh, again

        Challenge accepted.

Forza looked amazing and played well when I sampled it last night in Houston. Tell your employees to get a bit more knowledgeable about the product, one actually thought killer instinct was simply a graphic overhaul of the original.

    • Nick Peck

Yah you will have that in every retail store though. I feel the same way however, they should have a “quick answer” packet for all employee’s just so they don’t give out misinformation. Of course not everyone knows everything about all products they might sell, but if you don’t know, don’t give a wrong answer and go ask another worker.

    • StudioMultimédia Gon’Interacti

      lol @ graphic reboot

  • Gazza!!!

Looks good but how about you guys lift the review embargos so we can see what sort of reviews the games are getting. Its only a few weeks away after all.

    • Swat

Never trust the reviews from members of the media as they’re always paid to be positive about whatever their reviewing.

      • Gazza!!!

I don’t but there is a select few who’s opinion I can use to gauge how I might enjoy what ever game is being review.

  • Nate Welles

Dead rising 3 and RYSE 14.99 on expert zone for those who don’t know… if you’re a specialist member.

    • MobileVortex

I no longer work in retail… this is the only thing i miss about it :P

      • Nate Welles

Nor do i, but people who i stay in contact with keep me updated.

  • Kinectamaniac

Major Nelson, will the Xbox One play 3D Blu-rays?

    • Ron Armstrong

Unlike the PS4, the Xbox One won’t support 3D Blu-ray playback at launch from Engadget

      • Kinectamaniac

I hope Xbox patches that soon…I was really looking forward to using the Xbox One to play my collection of 3D Blu-rays. I still have a 3D Blu-ray player…but I was hoping to get rid of it, one less piece of electronics to mess with on my entertainment set-up.

    • Ron Armstrong

      • Ron Armstrong

which is very disappointing as I gave my brother my PS3 and now can’t watch my copy of The Hobbit in 3d on my soon to be shiny new Xbox One

  • Fred

Had a chance to try this the other day. Game looked great…not leaps and bounds over current gen, but still looked amazing. The controller however *was* amazing. The individual rumble on the triggers is well worth trying out, and really amped up the fun factor for me. Definitely a good showcase for the Xbox One.

Killer Instinct was the other title on display. Look fine enough, nothing that looked as though it couldn’t be done on current gen. Nothing really stood out for me on that front.
